Everyone’s favorite villian, Glee’s Jane Lynch, was on hand in Los Angeles to unveil her tracksuit-outfitted smirking waxwork at Madame Tussaud’s yesterday. The figure is a very close likeness of Lynch’s character Sue Sylvester, and she must be proud. I’m a real fan of Lynch and find her to be such a funny and convincing character actress. Lynch must have been elated to hear that Pop 8 was overturned in California yesterday and I bet she was partying last night. She married her longterm partner, Dr. Lara Embry, in Massachusetts on Memorial Day.
Lynch discussed her new figure with People, and explained that the measuring process took four hours. This whole waxmaking business must be pretty high tech by now.
Jane Lynch has a clone. The Glee star, 50, was joined by her new wife Dr. Lara Embry, a real-life high school Glee club, and more than 100 screaming fans Wednesday morning when her wax figure was unveiled at Madame Tussauds on Hollywood Blvd. Following opening remarks by Ian Brennan, the co-creator of the hit Fox show, Lynch walked out beside her statue, modeled after her character Sue Sylvester, and told the crowd, “Holy crap—unbelievable. This is too much. This is too weird. I feel like I’m seeing myself in a coffin or something. Thank you so much!” Lynch tells PEOPLE the whole experience is “strange and eerie,” adding, “it looks just like me.” But the cloning process was not so simple. “It took four hours,” Lynch said. “They took the measurements of my face and my body, and they put dots all over. There was a contraption that measured from here to here, to here, to here, to here for four hours.”–Dahvi Shira

That’s great that she got a waxwork! I’ve never checked out a Madame Tussauds, but I think I’ll do to the one here in Berlin this weekend. It should be fun to see all the frozen celebrities and take pictures.
I was looking for related news about Lynch to report, and came across an article that Star magazine ran in their print edition early in June. They claimed that everyone on Glee was overworked, putting in 16 hour days, complaining about it and asking for raises – except for Jane Lynch! They quote a source who said “Jane is so thrilled to be on Glee, she’d work 24 hours a day if she had to. So far she hasn’t made a peep about being overworked.” Star reports that Jane also earns the most out of the cast though, around $50,000 an episode. That’s how it should be. Love her!

I heart Sue Sylvester.
Good job on the wax figure.
Sue is my favourite character, but only because of what Jane Lynch brings to the classic lines she gets.
The wax figure doesn’t do her justice, then again as Sue, Jane rarely gets to show off her awesome smile.
The thing about Jane is she is so humble about all the good stuff that has came her way over the last year or so.
She has always been brilliantly funny. So it is nice to see a girl over 30 getting to have a big huge career, without having to take her clothes off.
And this statue actually looks like her.
Unlike that freak of natural that was unveiled for Kim Kardashian.
Oh I just adore Jane Lynch.
And bravo on that figure! Some of them I’ve seen look a bit wonky (Kim Kardashian, ahem) but that is truly an astounding likeness. Good for her!
Jane Lynch is such a fantastic comedic actress. She was the only reason I gave in and finally got on the Glee bandwagon. Now it’s all about Sue Sylvester, Mr. Schu and Puck.
All her scenes in The 40 year old virgin made me LOL, I totally heart her and the various characters she’s played over the years.
@Hautie: ITA with your comment.
I don’t think I could ever visit Madame Tussauds; that many life-like wax figures would scare the crap out of me.
I love Glee, and my favourite scenes are the ones with Sue Sylvester, and Jane Lynch deserves kudos for that.
However, I don’t think she should be making MORE than the rest of the Glee kids.
Look how much those drunken Jersey shore kids get per episode!
The Glee kids are in almost every scene, plus during the week they are rehearsing, learning choreography, tons of new songs, oh yeah, then they have to FILM it!
I know I’m going to get pinched for this, but the kids do much more work than Jane Lynch does (even though, again, I absolutely LOVE her and her character and without her, Glee would not be the same).
Hell, look at Charlie Sheen making millions an episode for just ACTING LIKE HIMSELF! Ridiculous.
And if Snooki and the Situation (can’t believe I even know their names) are getting raises up to 20k an episode, for absolutely no work and no TALENT, than the Glee kids deserve WAY more than that.
Role Models. Jane Lynch stole that movie! Especially the hot dog scene… sigh. I heart her.
She is fantastic. She won me over in ‘Best in Show’. If you get a chance she was in the first season of ‘Party Down’ and was just wonderful. Matter of fact, I have never not been impressed and amused by her in any role.
loooooovvvvvvvveeee her
They did a great job on her wax figure. And I love the show!
@TaylorB, I just watched Party Down! She was also hilarious in Arrested Development. Even her name, Cindy Lightballoon. Wth? 😀
She even makes Charlie Sheen’s show watchable when she’s in it!
So my friend worked on promos for the Do Something Awards which involved Jane Lynch, and during filming she was a HUGE bitch and completely uncooperative. She was REALLY obsessed with preserving the “Jane Lynch” brand and would refuse to do anything that she believed would destroy her image (They weren’t asking her to do anything drastic. They were just making simple suggestions to improve a take or a little nudging to change a pose.) My friend’s boss called the entire thing one of the worst encounters with a celebrity they had ever experienced. As a fan of hers, learning this really made me sad. I’m hoping she’s not always like this; hopefully, she was just having a bad day or was worn out from the stress of the show.
On the other hand, Rupaul, another pillar in the gay community, is an absolute doll and fucking hysterical.
Anyhoo: This is just a guess but my assumption is that they have to pay her a little more to keep her on the show. Think about it. Most of the cast didn’t really have any fame before the show started. Even now, other than a few of the kids, they are all still pretty much on the bottom of the food chain in hollywood. While Jane Lynch was not particularly famous before the show, she had been in many, many films. She built a name for herself within the hollywood community and had a nice size following of us regular folk that really enjoyed her work. Ryan Murphy probably really wanted her to play this role (seriously, who else could?) and in order to get someone who steadily works on different projects to commit to atleast six months out of the year, they need to pay her more. That’s my theory atleast. The show wouldn’t be the same without her and I’m sure she’s more in demand than anyoen that cast so they should give her more money just out of respect lol….also, if the kids don’t make more than those Jersey a-holes that’s just not right
She is AWESOME!!! Lesbians rule.. it is official everywhere
Wow, it looks just like her!
She did an excellent job. I believe the wax figure is nice and adjusted with her.
Never seen anyone compromise their personal beliefs to get a job like she has. The crap that she spews in her dialogue is unbelievable. Making disparaging remarks about people who the writers of the show she is on disagree with make her nothing but a pawn for them. Very sad.
