Yesterday we reported on the rumor that singer Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo had broken up. These two have had an on-off relationship that may have started in its latest incarnation around June, 2007. Then in November it became known that Tony spent Thanksgiving with Jessica’s family and it was declared a full-on romance. Now TMZ is confirming the news originally reported on These Boots are Made for Stalking that these two are no longer together. There is no confirmation from either of their reps.
A history of issues with Tony’s performance on the field
Jessica’s attendance at one of Tony’s games in mid-December also happened to coincide with his worst performance ever, much to the annoyance and scrutiny of Cowboys fans. Jessica and Tony then went on vacation with her family and some of his teammates in Mexico on an off weekend before the playoffs in January. When the Cowboys lost in the playoff match the next weekend a lot of fans and sports pundits questioned Romo’s priorities.

Jessica is featured on the cover of the June issue of Glamour on newstands now. In the accompanying article, she says she is “in love” with Tony, calls him her “future husband” and reveals how he tried to kiss her on the first date, gushing “The fact that this guy, on our first date, in the first 10 minutes of dinner, wanted to lean over the table and say, ‘This is my girl, and I want to kiss her’ — our first kiss in front of everybody — was awesome.” She also sort of revealed how she takes on the personality of the guys she dates, and in an obvious reference to her last relationship, with John Mayer, said “[Tony] reintroduced me to myself. I thought that I had to be deeper, more profound and more artsy. You change with the guys you date.”
You know Tony’s friends and teammates teased the crap out of him after that article came out and he must have been mortified. Many guys in a relatively new relationship would distance themselves from a woman if they heard she even said that to a friend – not to mention in print for the whole world to see and mock. Jessica, you really should have kept your mouth shut.
Could it be he just liked her boobies?? Maybe he’s bored of them and now he’s moving on to a new pair.
It seems to me that Jessica is kind of clueless on what to do and especially what not to do and say in a relationship. Most girls learn from trial and error around high school and college dating what is acceptable and not acceptable to guys (i.e. talking about marriage this early is NOT acceptable). I think because she has been in the business and not in a normal dating atmosphere for these years, and also because she was manipulated by her father into believing what his idea of sex and relationships should be, she is just ignorant on proper relationship behavior. Ent Lawyer over at Crazy Days and Nights did a story on how her behavior is interpreted by guys, and being female I think she just never learned.
Anybody that does their first kiss in the middle of a restaurant 10 minutes into your first date? IS A PLAYA. He’s probably done that a zillion times before. It’s probably his “thing” he does to snag women.
i feel bad for her. oversharing like this is a mistake, yes, and ANYONE can fall for a “playa.” i feel bad that she has to do it in the public eye. oh well.

It reminded me of a first date I had a year and a half ago. He took me out for dinner and less than half an hour into the date, he leaned across the table and kissed me. I felt kind of suspicious, yet flattered. He ended up convincing me to come and watch a movie at his house and while I was getting wine in the kitchen, he was setting up the living room. I walked in to find a porno on the tv and his “junk” pulled out and in his hand! Apparently, that’s what he found worked with the ladies.
I wonder if that was Tony Roma’s move on Jessica too?
I think that she should just leave her love life alone for now and focus on her singing career. If she would try, I bet she could outshine Ms. Spears anyday. So what if she has bad luck with love, I think she is a good person, she is decent, not like the Lohans, Agulieras, etc. She just has a bad rep because of how innocent she is. I dont know, I think people should lay off her, just my thought.

I was wondering the same thing, headache. Christina actually seems the most “together” out of all the blond pop princesses that debuted in the late 90s.
Anyway, I think Jessica doens’t know what she wants. She has let her dad control her life and career for so long, she may not be aware of what’s good for her, and how to handle an adult relationship.

im sorry but i don’t think her marriage to Nick Lachey was a good one. He treated her like a child and was constantly talking down to her.
The thing is, teammates tend to act like a bunch of middleschoolers, so I would have to say that the teasing could’ve played a role in it. His teammates did stand up for him when they lost in the playoffs (and TO even cried) saying that Jessica had nothing to do with their loss, so I don’t think the teasing was a big factor but I think it played into it a little.
She does need to focus on not saying so much to the public about her private life. If she keeps this up, she’ll never get her career back on track.

JS just seems so young and out of the loop. She needs a person who is much more mature and well rounded and not in the news at all. Tony is a playa. It bothers me that she is still trying to change with each person she is. The ‘relationship’ with John M. always looked very one way. He was so not into her. Ah, well. I wish for her a real man, and that she grows up.
A Chia Pet has more personality than Jessica Simpson. What did Romo expect? Oh, that’s right. Nevermind. 😉

Thank you, thank you, for finally pulling your head out of your ass. We never liked Jessica and never wanted to claim her as one of our own, even if she is from Texas. AC, she is a child who needed talking down to her. I remember the beginning episodes before she and daddy realized what sold and started playing up the dumb blond. She was constantly stuck in the moment, more focused on living like a spoiled teenager instead of in a partnership preparing for their future.

Everyone knocks on Christina for her makeup and her clothes, while Jessica is nothing like that. She has never done videos like the Dirty video Christina did, its just a comparison. I do not have a problem with Christina, I am trying to make a point across of how she is nothing like that, that is all. 🙂
