PETA has what is starting to be a very unhealthy obsession with the Olsen twins. Like if PETA were the Olsen twins’ ex-boyfriend, it’d have a few restraining orders against it. The organization has been after the pint-sized twosome for years because they wear fur. And to be fair, the two don’t just wear it occasionally, but pretty much every chance they get.
I am damn sure that if one of their bodyguards ran over a bear (highly likely to happen in New York City, I might add) one or both of them would jump out of their excessively large SUV, knife already in hand, and have a new coat in under seventeen minutes flat. So if you’re anti-fur, the Olsen twins are one of the most legitimate targets out there.
As a birthday gift to the Olsens, PETA is requesting that people send the girls clumps of hair.
PETA is obsessed with trashing Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, whom they refer to as the Trollsen Twins, who are celebrating their birthdays this Friday.
PETA is encouraging animal lovers to send clumps of hair to the twins as a birthday gift. They’ve posted this on their website:
“The twins are still sporting as much fur as ever. Since they seem to be in such dire need of extra hair on their bodies, let’s give them some of ours—and send a strong message while we’re at it….Save that hair in a bag and mail it to the twins with a note that says, “Please, use my hair instead of the animals’. Happy Birthday.”

I am rabidly anti-fur; but I will admit that it bothers me less when people in excessively harsh and frigid climates wear it to keep warm than it does when fashionistas wear it to complete an outfit. But the Olsens are so emaciated that part of me wonders if perhaps they actually are as frigid as someone wandering around in Northern Siberia would be.
Today it’s already a record 101 at 1:30 in the afternoon here in New York City. But to the Olsens, wandering around scared and cold in the West Village, it’s probably registering somewhere around 19 degrees on their bones. I would still prefer they bundle up in a nice poofy Northface jacket. But I will point out that they’re probably a lot colder than the rest of us.
What is with this overpowering need vegetarians and animal rights activists have to convert everyone to their way of thinking?
If you want to be anti-fur, or anti-meat, or anti-puppy mills, ect. that’s your prerogative. If I want to wear fur, eat meat, and buy a puppy, that’s mine.
I don’t care if you see it as a moral obligation to end the suffering of animals. Lots of people see it as a moral obligation to save your soul by introducing you to the word of Christ, and despite the fact I’m Catholic, I find that shit pretty annoying too.
Peta has no real effect on fur wearers. If you like fur you are going to wear it. If they dump red paint on you, your going to buy another fur coat and kill more animals. They never really stop to think about the effects of what they do. They aren’t changing any minds anymore.
I hate the preachiness of these anti fur people in the same way I hate Jehovah’s Witnesses and pro life people who burn abortion clinics. I especially hate PETA. I am anti fur, but I don’t believe in imposing my beliefs on other people, and harassing and libeling them when they don’t confirm to my way of thinking.
I hope the Olsen’s get the police involved if people start harassing them and sending them fur.
I’d fight back and send the heads of PETA fur coats this winter.
Jaybird – did you not mean ‘unhealthy’ obsession in your opening sentence?
PETA makes me want to wear real fur. I would never wear real fur but that’s how far PETA’s message has drifted from it’s original remit. 100% behind Scott on this one. They’re like those people who come to your door asking if you’ve found Jesus because that’s exactly what you’ve been waiting for – some badly dressed, ill-informed fanatic to make you aware of your shortcomings.
I friggin HATE PETA.
Thank you Geronimo – yes I did.
PETA Senior Vice President MaryBeth Sweetland on her use of insulin, which was tested on animals:
“I’m an insulin-dependent diabetic. Twice a day I take synthetically manufactured insulin that still contains some animal products — and I have no qualms about it … I’m not going to take the chance of killing myself by not taking insulin. I don’t see myself as a hypocrite. I need my life to fight for the rights of animals.”
–Glamour, January 1990
One reason why PETA is full of sh*t.
Down with the Trollson twins. Horray for PETA!!!
PETA never gets tired. And obviously, as Ron said above, they aren’t helping the fur industry that much. Paint on a gorgeous fur coat is only going to make the fur wearer buy another one.
I must admit I have some fur coats and accessories at home. I’m a fashionista and fur coats have been handed down in the family too.
However, my vegetarian anti-fur friends respect me and don’t go throwing around fluo paint as wild animals.
As for the Olsen twins being colder than the rest of us: it is true that skinny people are much colder. One of anorexia’s side effects is that the body is constantly cold…
I agree with vdantev, the Olsen twins SHOULD send the heads fur coats. Payback is a bitch.
Can I send the cat fur my cats shed all over my house? It would sure help with the cleaning.
I’m a vegetarian and I, of course, am anti-fur. I don’t go around yelling at people for eating meat or anything like that but I’ll have conversations with people about why I am the way I am.
I honestly think it is disgusting to wear fur. Actually, disgusting isn’t a strong enough word. If they can get dressed to go somewhere and throw on a fur coat and actually live with it then they suck. How can anyone honestly kill an innocent animal to make a fashion statement? 😡 They are nasty.
I bet they wear the people hair coats. Chris March from the last season of PR made people hair clothes. Why not? I don’t see why this would be upsetting. People should send them toenali clippings or callus shavings or nose hairs or something gross like that, if you wanted to bother them.
Whichever Olsen it is up there doesn’t need us to send us the detritus of the shower tray – she’s already had yer man’s hair!!
This is kinda topical for me as I was at the national SPCA centre today.
1 – there are some animals that are farmed for fur, especially the horrible mink, that outside of their natural habitats are pests and invasive species. This has a dreadful effect on native wildlife and unfortunate family pets that stray too close to the bloody thing.
2 – some people are anti-meat full-stop. Some people don’t eat meat because of the treatment of animals either on the farms or especially in being transported long distances to jobbing abattoirs which aren’t very efficient at dispatching them. Then you get all stages in between.
Personally, I’d find the production of real hormones for HRT far more worrying than the eating meat or using the byproducts.
Just for the record, I’m another veggie. I try to avoid animal products and get seriously annoyed with “smug veggies” like the McCartneys (although I do covet some of Stella’s products)
.
BUT – one thing carnivores forget is that they often try and convert us back – up to the point of having the f***ing gall of accusing me of potentially being a bad parent for not cooking the child meat. Considering the sheer number of food scandals over the past decade that really boils my blood. 👿
well it shouldn´t be about PETA, but about the animals dying to become a piece of stupid clothing…but honestly you people are too shallow to understand that.
its not a matter of prerogative or an option or lifestyle…it´s a cause to protect the animals of being killed and almost extitnct for fuck sake…is that too hard to understand?
you ppl actually r feeling sorry about the Olsens getting hair for their b-day?
thats so pathetic! 🙄
I wish PETA would take their undying enthusiasm for doing good and join Anonymous’ fight against the Cult of $cientlology.
I don’t like fur, but the PETA nuts make me want to buy one just because they are so against it. Infantile group of freaks.
Some of the photos that PETA is saying are real furs worn by the Trollsons are fakes. They have to be or they are wearing some really cheap ass Kmart dog clipping coats. There are lots of companies out there today that make extrordinary fake furs that almost look real. Why doesn’t PETA pick on JLo and Beyonce, both known for wearing real fur and wearing it a lot. PETA needs to calm down anyway. Their antics never seem to make people change their minds anyway.
Mairead, sorry, don’t see what all that has to do with this?. The post is about PETA’s borderline terrorist tactics, not animal rights or vegetarianism, and that’s what most people are responding to.
Just saying, as your post is kind of implying that we are somewhat uneducated about the realities of the fur and meat industries.
Larissa: thats so pathetic! 🙄
But not as pathetic as your grammar. All this stress and animosity has made me so hungry, I’m going to go eat an entire baby cow.
“it´s a cause to protect the animals of being killed and almost extitnct for fuck sake…is that too hard to understand?”
You’re kidding right? Please tell me you’re kidding. Ever notice that these days, the only species NOT going extinct are the ones we make useful products out of or get entertainment from?
Here’s my problem with PETA – They think animals and humans are equals. Can you not see the idiocy in such an argument? You can say that they don’t deserve to suffer, or that we should try to keep their populations from dwindling, but to actually insinuate that human beings are the equals of fucking rabbits?
Have deer sent members of their species to the moon? Did a porcupine construct the Colosseum? No, we did that.
The problem with nature activists is that they have no true concept of what nature is really like. In fact, the hunters they vilify generally have a much more realistic and effective form of conservation than they do (which generally amounts to ‘let them run wild’).
If we really are no better than animals, why hold us to a higher standard? Other animals eat each other, kill their own, destroy their habitat with overpopulation, ect.
What exactly do you think would happen if we all stopped eating beef tomorrow? If we just decided to let the cows run wild? Well, PETA and groups like ALF ‘release’ (read STEAL) animals all the time. What happens? They get slaughtered by cars, killed by wild animals, starve, ect. Is that supposed to be their ‘humane’ solution?
What about the fact that PETA killed more than 90% of the pets they ‘saved’? Of course, death is SO preferable to being doted on by a loving family and living a life that consists of eating, sleeping, shitting, and bathing oneself. Gotta love that kinda logic.
For the record PETA puts to death MORE animals than they “save” EVERY year. Let that sink in for a moment.. No matter how many animals PETA rescues from one place or another, they are euthanizing MORE.
Larissa–No one is wearing baby seal coats or Siberian tiger coats. They are wearing things like mink and beaver and raccoon. Which are in no short supply. Have you ever had a racoon get into your house? Once you have, you wish all of them dead! They are rodents for God’s sake and if they happen to make a good coat, so be it!
Scott F….
marry me.
hahaha.
Hey geronimo – thanks for pointing out how my comment was coming across. I didn’t mean to imply that nobody else understood the issue – just how I’m seeing it. but i didn’t qualify it as that. 😳
You’re right, i was going off topic and commenting more on the other comments, rather than the post itself.
Scott, love, would you mind moderating your language a teeny bit? Like shoving the word “some” or “a number” or “many” in there perhaps? Not all “nature activists” are that downright f*cking misguided, like. 😛
I HATE PETA with a passion. They just need to shut their damn mouth up already. This is F*CKING AMERICA for God’s sake. If we want to want wear fur we can. My sister is against fur and leather, but I wear it around all the time. 😀 😆 😈
HAHAH! That’s hilarious [about the running over the bear].
One other thought:
“Like if PETA were the Olsen twins’ ex-boyfriend…”
You mean… they share one? 😉 😀
Ron, yes I have had 2 raccoons break into my home and what a bloody mess that was. In addition to the mess, they were hard as hell to get out. They are mean s.o.b’s. If it weren’t for my dog and my neighbor helping usher the thieving bastards out I would have been forced to have someone shoot them. It took me hours to re-do my kitchen. They also dropped fleas and I had to flea bomb my entire house!
Even though PETA might get too extreme at times, there is no real need for anyone to wear fur coats. Celebrities wearing fur make me sick. How much more self-absorbed can someone get? Shame on them.
These two are trolls. Did get some needed sleep half way thorugh Scott’s post. Blah, Blah, Blah.
I know this has nothing to do with this post, but I’ve noticed they’ve both been looking really cute lately!! They’re definitely having a fashion comeback (except for the fur, that is. I am anti-fur too!)
I have no strong feelings about fur, but it only makes about one woman in a hundred (and maybe one man in a thousand) actually look good. So if it’s a fashionista statement, it’s absolutely wasted. Very few people can carry it off at all, let alone well.
peta are douches! complete hypocrites. its amazing how they protest against the olsen twins but how they happily have kim catrall, kimora lee simons and a shitload of other celebrities in their cause WHO WEAR FUR as well as other items made from animals.
hasn’t anyone cottoned on the the fact peta DON’T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT ANIMALS?!?!? its all about the money baby!!! we oughta boycott peta!
I think PETA has lost their initial goal and have gone overboard. I do not like the wonder trolls and I am not really sure why they are in any gossip blog because I have no idea what they have done since You Got it Dude… but this is a bit extreme.
I am 100% vegetarian and I do not believe in fur. I think that there is no reason to kill a living being for SHOW or STATUS. If you are in Alaska… you have my blessing.
I think its lunacy to breed animals to kill them for human COMFORT not necessity. It is excess and glutony.
BUT… I also believe in your right to be gross and eat it and wear it. I just maintain my right to call you gross. LOL>
@Mairead – Sorry, my antennae were possibly a little too sensitive to even the tiniest hint of preaching because of PETA’s retarded approach to getting a message across. They just sicken me and are the worst possible advocates for animal rights.
To everyone out there who may or may not be anti-fur, but thinks that PETA acts similar to religious types who knock on your door and try to save your soul so they should stop trying to convert everyone to their way of thinking. . .
It’s all well and good not to want someone in your face all the time, trying to get you to see things their way. Unfortunately, in this particular situation, silence on the part of PETA (and anyone else who thinks that fur is murder and wants you to understand how so) results in the gruesome, torturous death of living creatures, mammals in fact (creatures that are extremely close to you and me on the “tree of life”). Maybe you didn’t know, but the “preferred” way of killing a mammal for its fur is to stick a rather large probe up the animal’s ass, flipping a circuit breaker, and sending large amounts of electricity coursing through it’s body. Based on how these animals act during this procedure, it’s pretty obvious that this is an extremely painful way to die, since death is not instantaneous, but rather takes as long as 15 seconds. If you don’t think 15 seconds is very long, take a moment right now and watch a clock (or a wristwatch) and see for yourself it isn’t as short as you might think, especially if you think about how it would feel to have tons of electricity surging through your ass and all throughout your body. Hell, even cows are slaughtered in a more humane way.
Of course, this horrific and agonizing way of dying is just the final f*ck you to an animal that has been mistreated all its life. Again, in case you aren’t aware, animals that are bred for their fur spend their entire lives confined to small wire cages without any comfort whatsoever. Keep in mind that mammals, particularly smaller ones like mink and sable, are high-energy creatures that like to run around, playing and cavorting with each other. They act very similar to human children in this regard. So, locking up these animals in wire cages barely larger than they are, is in and of itself, extremely cruel and inhumane. If you’ve never seen small, fur bearing creatures that are bred for their fur at any point in their dismal, short lives, take a moment and search for that sort of thing on YouTube. Moreover, even though seals aren’t bred or kept in captivity, the “method” we humans use to kill them is, like anal electrocution, barbaric, brutal and inhumane in the extreme. So while you’re at YouTube looking for video of small mammals kept in captivity and bred for their fur, do a search for harp seal hunting and see for yourself how truly gruesome, ghastly and repugnant it is.
My point with all of this is simple: while I totally understand, and even agree with to a point, your feelings about people who get up in your face, preaching their version of the “gospel” whatever that maybe (in this instance, that fur = murder), please understand that remaining silent on this issue is to turn your back on, and even condone, the horrific, horrendous and appallingly awful mistreatment and utterly barbaric and torturous death of our mammalian cousins, creatures that aren’t much different than our other animal “best friends” — our dogs and cats. If you have any kind of conscious or sense of right and wrong, there really isn’t any way to sit on the fence, or even worse, to condone and accept, about the whole fur issue.
Besides, if you’re religious (for example, Christian), then certainly you can see that God would not create whole species of animals on this Earth merely so they could be bred and held captive in appallingly agonizing conditions for the entirety of their short lives, at the end of which they are brutally and savagely murdered in unspeakably sadistic, merciless and inhumane ways, and all of this just so that some wealthy person can wear their dead carcasses.
If PETA’s the “worst possible advocates for animal rights” who are the best ones? Take a look at a list and tell me how many have the brand recognition PETA has developed – with practically no money. Which ones are continually and relentlessly getting animal issues discussed in the media (like the post that started THIS discussion for example)? PETA thrives on controversy and piggybacks on celebrity. Retarded? No, I don’t think so. Dan Mathews, the vice president, was invited to speak about PETA’s tactics at Harvard. It may seem frivolous, but it is very calculated and media-savvy. One last observation: when people respond so angrily to PETA, it’s pretty obvious that it’s a defense mechanism – just like when you were a kid and your mother used to tell you you shouldn’t be doing something you knew you shouldn’t be doing.
“Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, or use for entertainment” (PETA’s slogan)
We can all make our own minds up about PETA’s effectiveness. You can be 100% behind the drive to protect animals from cruelty and experimentation without buying into the cloyingly sentimental viewpoint that all animals should be viewed in exactly the same light. Some animals, as far as I’m concerned, are ABSOLUTELY ours to eat and wear. Others absolutely not. The quality of life of the former and the method of slaughter employed is therefore where I put my energies. I loathe the fur trade and have very definite opinions about people who wear fur for fashion, but I equally loathe and despise PETA’s approach to getting their message across.
I know where I draw the line and that’s all that concerns me.
No clue on what you mean by a defense mechanism.
“If you want to be anti-fur, or anti-meat, or anti-puppy mills, ect. that’s your prerogative. If I want to wear fur, eat meat, and buy a puppy, that’s mine.”
Scott F I am definitely not one to be preachy and can not handle people like PETA, but I think there is a BIG difference from the discussion about this and puppy mills. No-one is saying that you shouldn’t buy a puppy, they are just saying please be weary of where you are getting it from. This is a really serious issue and shouldn’t be trivialized in a web post.
I am not saying that animals are equal to humans, but I sure as hell think of my dog as part of the family and think that people should be warned about what puppy mills really are!
I’m not a veggie, although I do have quite a loving relationship with soy and its many forms. I’m more of a social carnivore, what can I say, I love to BBQ.
I’ve never been into fur either, being that I was born and raised in the desert, but now that I’ve had two Chicago winters that have lasted until mid-May early-June, I’d wear one. That freezing humid air that goes right through to your bones is horrible, especially if you take public transit like myself. Granted, I wouldn’t really want to sit on the El in a mink either.
I just bought a Theory fur lined cardigan online (sale/no returns) went back and realized that it’s lined with real fur around the neck. I was all “well, shit”. I had just assumed that it was faux and didn’t check first.
I want to be warm in the winter but I love animals and faux fur is fashionable enough for me. Plus it just shows were your values are. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to wear the cardigan now.
“What is with this overpowering need vegetarians and animal rights activists have to convert everyone to their way of thinking?”
What is with Scott F’s overpowering need to convert everyone to his way of thinking?? 🙄
@geronimo: You’ve clarified one thing, which is that your distinction between animals that get to romp in your living room and animals that get to live in their own feces and get their throats cut is COMPLETELY ARBITRARY and based on your personal convenience rather than ethics. That’s fine, at least it’s honest. But why does there have to be only one correct approach to alleviating animal suffering? Why can’t we have your approach (with which you haven’t yet enlightened us) AND PETA’s “extreme” approach and the conservative approach and lots of other tools in the arsenal? There’s too much suffering and horror going on for people who care about animals to be squabbling over who has the right approach.
Claiming something is a defense mechanism implies that we believe what we’re doing is wrong. That’s the logical gap that animal rights nuts can’t seem to bridge: Just because you think it’s wrong, doesn’t mean that we do or ever will. I had friends that lived on farms, and have slaughtered my own meals before. It was quick, painless, and quite delicious.
Animals eat each other. Personally, I think if you asked a cow, it would much prefer a quick death by mechanical slaughter than being torn to bits by a pack of coyotes.
ohyeahsure – Oh yeah, we most DEFINITELY need to discuss the tactics these dipshits employ. Is it not ‘extreme’ when ALF and PETA fanatics burn down construction project to ‘protect’ the wildlife? Or when they spike trees that kill and maim loggers all over the northwest to preserve wildlife habitat. Did you know that PETA has raised money to free a serial arsonist that has repeatedly bombed animal research labs on American campuses?
That’s terrorism, plain and simple. As long as that’s the ‘approach’ they choose, we have a right to call them out for being the criminals they are.
These people are willing to sacrifice human lives to better the lot of animals. There is never a circumstance where it’s alright to marginalize a human being’s existence.
Instead of outwardly attacking celebrities, PETA should spend more time and effort on practicing what they have been preaching and shoving down our throats for years..We get it already.
Try focusing on doing more by offering to purchase desperatey needed equiptment and supplying the manpower to cities that are overrun with endless cases of cruelty, or doing away with puppy mills, and actively patrolling the streets looking for and providing aid to animals that are suffering through starvation, being chained and left with no food or water or just to die alone, cruelly.
It seems that if PETA was truly concerned with the treatment of animals, they should concentrate on spending less time in the limelight and adopt a more active approach to eradicating animal cruelty and maybe concentrate their efforts along with the animals cops that do more for these poor creatures with less desire for the ‘atta-boys’ PETA seems to always angle for.
If you practiced half of what you try and preach, I believe through combined efforts you might actually save more animals in trouble than the time it takes you to threaten celebrities from your air conditioned offices. Lets hear less of what you believe and more of putting it into action out on the streets.
“And to be fair, the two don’t just wear it occasionally, but pretty much every chance they get.”
So it is preferable for an animal to killed for 1 wear only???
@ohyeahsure – see, there you go, making assumptions about me on the basis of nothing other than your own pre-conceptions and your personal position on PETA. Who SAID there had to only be one correct approach? Not me. And I don’t need to enlighten anyone about anything. I’ve said pretty much all I want to say on this in my last post.
What exactly do you think this is? A competition to see who cares more about cruelty to animals? Support PETA’s methods if that’s what you want to do. Your business. I’m standing firm in the ‘terrorist tactics are NEVER acceptable’ corner and that’s where I’ll be staying.
“No-one is saying that you shouldn’t buy a puppy”
cas, actually, one of PETA’s goals is to outlaw the owning of pets, period. Dogs, cats, even fish.
~Larissa, apparently you’ve never seen mink mate. They’re about as close to extinction as the cockroach is. Most animals used to make fur coats are forms of rodents, and are prolific breeders if you’re unaware.
I hate PETA. Can’t stand the hypocrisy, the apathy, the need for publicity. Did I also mention that, as a grandchild of holocaust survivors, I hate them for making light of it in order to save a few chickens.
peta annoys me. they need to back the hell off the olsens.
daisfly you read me wrong, I have no time for PETA at all and was refering to Scott F’s comment about animal right activists complaining about puppy mills. I too think PETA is completely over the top and annoying. I also however think that people need to be aware about puppy mills…
Oh for Pete’s sake, people, PETA doesn’t burn down construction projects or maim loggers or perform suicide attacks against Jennifer Lopez. Where are you getting that from, some meat-industry-funded propaganda website? Do you really think people like Sir Paul McCartney, Dolly Parton, Morrissey, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Sarah Jessica Parker would support a terrorist organization? Getting people to send hair in the mail is a PRANK – it’s not terrorism. You’ve heard of wikipedia? Please at least take ten minutes to educate yourselves before you start spreading misinformation.
Peta is stupid, they blame and harass the consumers for using animal based products, but they dont seem to be as hard on the industry behind it. Im totally against animal cruelty, but everyone has the rigth to do whatever they want. Lets be real, why isntead of being utopic PETA start doing a campain for humanization of the use of animals by industry? Even in nature animals kill each other, if we gonna do it, we must make sure the death and life is gona be painless and respectfull. Dont u guys think at least 50% of the trouble will be better if we make sure animals we use for leather, fur, food etc, had a decent life and death?
“Celebitchy aims to be a friendly, welcoming site where people can discuss entertainment stories and current events in a lighthearted, safe environment without fear of harassment, excessive negativity, or bullying. Different opinions, backgrounds, ages, and nationalities are welcome here – hatred and bigotry are not. ” -LOL! PS Fur wearers suck.
Well said Achman!
Peta definitely aren’t doing their job. Throwing paint on people’s fur coats is just going to anger them and get them to spite Peta by wearing even more fur coats.
I get the feeling that many people who don’t care about the fur issue are people that have NO IDEA what actually goes on in the fur industry. If you just had to watch 5 seconds of the barbarism of it, I can promise you that you would NEVER wear fur. If people don’t stop buying fur coats more and more animals will suffer each day as we speak in the name of vanity and profit.
TO THOSE WHO ARE UNIFORMED ABOUT THE REALITY AND SAY IT’S ALL PROPAGANDA, HERE ARE A FEW FACTS:
Most of the fur in the West gets imported from China where labour is cheap. Now this is where the problem lies.
1.) China has no animal welfare laws whatsoever.
2.) Among animals such as foxes, raccoons and mink, they also skin dogs and cats alive. Yes, you heard me right. They skin them alive! You may think it’s an urban legend, but it is completely true. Just Google ‘chinese fur trade’ and you’ll see for yourself.
3.) The dog and cat fur is marketed to the West as faux fur/rabbit fur/fur with exotic sounding names. Dog/cat fur is easy to dye different colors to resemble other fur.
You might be wearing a coat that contains dog fur and not even be aware of it.
4.) The barbaric Chinese fur industry is going strong as we speak and it won’t stop until people STOP BUYING FUR.
6.) China skins up to 2 million dogs and cats every year.
7.)China is the biggest exporter of fur globally.
8.) Because of this the European Union has voted to ban the import of dog/cat fur from China in 2009.
And if you still don’t believe me, just watch this footage:
(Please copy and paste into your browser.)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueBWi8BL0PQ
And another thing, the above video is not an isolated case and is not Peta propaganda. For more viewing material you can buy the dvd called EARTHLINGS.
The reason why these animals don’t get killed humanely by shooting it in the head/slitting its throat is because it would ruin the fur and therefore the pelts would fetch a much lower price. The reason why they don’t humanely give them a lethal injection is because the costs of doing this to so many animals would be too expensive. Remember that it takes up to 65 minks to make one fur coat.
SO PLEASE PEOPLE! I BEG YOU TO EDUCATE YOURSELF ON THIS SUBJECT. BESIDES: ‘ALL THAT IS NECESSARY FOR THE TRIUMPH OF EVIL IS FOR GOOD MEN (AND WOMEN) TO DO NOTHING.’
I dont really support peta, but this couple of ugly assholes should know that their stupid and tacky sense of fashion kills animals, and just for once they should listen to they little anorexic brains and try to think about the cost of lives and the cost of blood they pay with their stupid outfits. hope they start using their brains soon
You want to take care of your skin before it is too late and using preventive steps like lotions and creams is important, especially when you are in the sun. Smoking will not only injure your lungs but it will also affect your whole body which will in turn affect your skin.
I think everyone should go to college and get a degree and then spend six months as a bartender and six months as a cabdriver. Then they would really be educated.
First of all i am not a vegatarian and never will be. second i have seen those animal cruelty videos, pictures(in peta kids magazine)of animals being slaughtered for food etc. i personally could never afford to wear fur. thoughj i can see why the olsens do. no body fat equals no heat retention. and even if i could i wouldn’t just because it’s itchy just like wool. i do not however support peta at all. they are terrorists plain and simple and should be arested for their tactics
You know what’s really sad? How so many people on here agree with torturing and killing animals. I’m not a member of PETA but I love and value animals too much to cause them any pain. Do you cold-hearted, sadistic scums even know how these animals get killed? Did you know that they get skinned alive? If that doesn’t bother you or if you condone it then I hope it happens to you in the hands of some psychopath. Karma is a bitch!
P.S. All you worthless pieces of shit who think it’s just minks and rabbits, then how do you explain China’s fur industry of cats and dogs? Fucking shut your vile mouths, open your eyes and see what’s really going on. You’re horrible human beings if you condone torture. Hope someone skins the fucking, ugly Olsen whores alive and wears their skin. Hope someone does that to any one who sympathizes with the Olsen cunts!
