Last night, Jessica Simpson appeared on NBC’s coverage of the Rockefeller Center’s tree-lighting ceremony. I think Mariah Carey’s bit was pre-taped, but Jessica sang live (unless she lip-synced, always a possibility). Jessica also sang a duet with a young soldier… and she tried to diva him, even though I think the kid had a better voice:
I had forgotten how dumb Jessica looks when she sings. She makes the stupidest faces. Speaking of dumb, the pregnancy rumors keep on coming, despite Jessica’s denials. I didn’t think she looked particularly pregnant for last night’s appearance – at least, not any more than she has looked lately. Life & Style has the pregnancy rumors on their cover this week:
Jessica Simpson has a lot to be thankful for this year. So on Nov. 24, the day before Thanksgiving, Jessica and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, brought their parents and close friends together for a celebratory evening at Coppola’s Italian restaurant in NYC, and Life & Style has all the details.
Toasting the couple’s Nov. 11 engagement with white wine, Jessica quickly charmed her future in-laws with stories of lost earrings and how Eric played doctor while she had the flu.
“She and Eric were very loving — hugging, kissing and whispering in each other’s ears,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style. “She also showed off her engagement ring. She even took it off at one point and handed it to Eric’s parents to look at.” Jessica and the group dined on a feast of grilled eggplant with marinara sauce, short ribs with homemade pappardelle, lobster with rigatoni in lobster sauce, homemade meatballs and sausage.
Though Jess has denied baby rumors, she’s already thinking about a newborn in the near future, saying, “I definitely see myself having a family with Eric, so that’s exciting to think about!”
And her mother, Tina Simpson, is just as ecstatic about the prospect of more grandkids. “Obviously I’m looking forward to having more grandkids!” Tina, grandma to daughter Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s son, Bronx, told Life & Style after dinner. “Bronx is the love of my life.” And whether a boy or girl, she’ll be thrilled. “I’ll take anything I get,” Tina said. “I’m not picky!”
The couple began dating only six short months ago, so it’s no surprise that their engagement may be even shorter. An insider tells Life & Style that the bride-to-be will be walking down the aisle very soon. “It won’t be before Christmas, but it’ll definitely be before spring,” reveals the insider. “January or February at the latest. They don’t want to waste any time.”

So… they’re not claiming that babies are actually happening right now, just that Jessica is going to be knocked up at some point in the near future. Good to know!

I’ve been looking at her hands and face, and if she’s not preggers, she’s got a health problem that requires steroids. There’s only 2 reasons for that kind of bloat – pregnancy or steroids.

I think the story is BS. I saw in an interview that non of Eric’s family eats meat. That’s a lot of meat on that menu.

@ D – Grilled eggplant is not meat. It can be good or gross, dependent upon who makes it, but it’s not meat. Does his family eat seafood? Because I don’t eat beef or pork, but I do eat seafood (v-e-r-y occasionally) and the occasional chicken.
she used to try & out sing nick all the time. he was the only person on the planet that made her tolerable.

Dear lord. That girl could use vocal lessons. I think she has the ability to sing but someone needs to teach her louder does not always = better vocals. Its so weird.

I honestly dont know. her face IS so bloated, but the fact that i’m on the fence tells me shes probably not, because I dont think JS would be able to hide a pregnancy AT ALL. She’d be at less than 6 months, I dont even know how big that would be

I think she is just tragic. She seems lost, and desperate to be loved by a man as if a man could give her back her self worth. The weight gain is another tale tell of that. It looks like alcohol bloat and bad food combined. Although she says she embraces her fuller figure. She would not hide it if she did. And is not about skinny is better, however overweight is not healthy. Emotional eating is a cry from within to fill an emptiness that food cannot fill nor a man.
Why does she always over sing everything? She could sound really great if she wasn’t trying so hard.
I thought Jessica looked stunning on the Christmas special. Her face looked like the old beautiful Jess from way back and her long blond hair. She definitely sang beautifully. I hate her oversinging and overwrought delivery she was doing for a few years, but I felt she was more understated this time. That guy she is engaged to has the dorkiest face.
She always looks like a bad porn star with that microphone. Why why why does she do that with her mouth when she sings.
@ becky hmmm i am not sure about that. I am of similar build and height of Chestica and definitely out weigh her by a few pounds. When i was pregnant I was still wearing my larger regular skirts and pants until my third trimester, my belly didn’t pop until after 6 months. But my face and hands were definitely some tell tell signs, i got the jowels, I totally agree with bellaluna!
Also that picture on the mag is an old picture, why would they do that huh……. very suspicious.
So i have also been doing something thinking (i know, ironic terms when it comes to Porny) about the corn-cob-crack interview papa Joe did, where he was stating that they wanted to Model Jessica’s career after Angelina. I think he was referencing her turn from crazy blood toting vamp to her mother earth image. I think he is trying to re-brand Jess as a mother/family image, after her divorce from Nick she went from Hot Divorcee to dumpy, pathetic, always needs a man Woman. think about it. The “engagement”, all these crazy stories that are being “leaked” about her whipping up thanksgiving, courting the family. I am more than sure Joe gave Eric the talk about this being the family business, you know the one Nick gave into and the talk that creeped out Tony Romo. i bet that Cracky joe is Eric’s manager for his “life coach” career.In short i think all this is really an attempt to not only keep Chesty in the spotlight but to re-brand her as a hot mom and trophy wife extraordinaire! Which in order to that they are going to have to erase the image of the Newlyweds from ALL of our minds.

Call me crazy, but I think she looks very pretty in that video. I like what she did with her hair. I thought she looked pretty in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade too. Oh no, maybe she’s growing on me? Scary. I’m sure she’ll be back to looking like a stuffed sausage on her way to a Walmart sponsored prom soon though, so I’m not going to panic just yet.
As for her voice… Meh. I didn’t think she was terrible. But, she sounded really nervous. I think it was more the nerves causing suckage to come out of her mouth than her actual voice. Just my opinion though.

Her face says it all and her little swollen hands. Everything she’s been wearing is loose-fitting, and her coat at the parade was tight right across her stomach where she buttoned it. I don’t see what’s the big secret. These celebs put everything else out there. Maybe her dad is calling the shots.
Life & Style is always doing the ‘I’m having a baby! articles that end up just being ‘…someday, ha ha!’ Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian, and Mariah Carey are the ones I remember. Now J Simp. Whatever.
