I’m not saying that Robert Pattinson is a bad dresser. He actually has all of the raw material to be one of the most dashing and sparkly men on any given red carpet – he’s tall and slender, he’s got lovely shoulders, he’s handsome/pretty, and he has versatile hair. He should have the best menswear designers beating down his door to dress him. Maybe they are… and maybe Sparkles just tells them to go away. Because he’s not really stunning on red carpets, in general, so I’m utterly clueless as to why GQ UK named Sparklepants the “best dressed man in the UK”.
I mean…there was that maroon suit he wore to last year’s Eclipse premiere. He looked like a valet. There was the too-bright navy tux he wore to the Golden Globes last month. There’s his daywear style… which is kind of early ‘90s grunge, complete with flannel, plus a “I’m a hipster douche” trucker hat. Is this really how low we’re setting the bar for best-dressed? I was thinking about it, though, and I have to admit something – I can’t really think of who I would consider the best dressed man in Britain. Like… Daniel Craig, maybe? Sure, but he hates red carpets, and I can’t remember the last time I saw him all decked out in a suit. And then there’s….um… Clive Owen…? Clive should be the top of every list, ever, but he hasn’t done much lately either (except write letters to us!). Anyway, here’s the top ten, in ascending order:
10. Dizzee Rascal
9. David Beckham
8. David Cameron
7. David Furnish
6. Daniel Craig
5. Tom Ford
4. Fantastic Mr. Fox (George Clooney)
3. Alex Turner
2. Take That
1. Robert Pattinson
I don’t know who several of those people are. Oh… David Beckham! He would have been a good pick for number one. I like how two Yanks made it on the list – Clooney and Tom Ford. Like… they were seriously fudging this thing, and they couldn’t come up with ten well-dressed men in Britain.
In the end, I guess what I’m saying is that Sparkles is too young for me to consider him well-dressed. I applaud him for going with Gucci so often for the red carpet, and for daring to take risks (the maroon suit, for instance). But he’s still figuring out his “look”. And, at the end of the day, they should have given the title to Prince Harry. Harry is close in age to Sparkles, but Harry has much more experience dressing for the occasion, and even when Harry is “dressed down” he still looks like he showers.

“has all of the raw material to be one of the most dashing and sparkly men on any given red carpet – he’s tall and slender, he’s got lovely shoulders, he’s handsome/pretty, and he has versatile hair.” – Agree
One of the mysteries of the world is why he can look drop dead gorgeous one minute and so different the next. Personally, a few days of scruff and casual clothes and the man is gorgeous.
This guy is drop dead gorgeous and making him even more attractive is his humble attitude and hard work ethic. Love him!
He can’t outdress Kristen or that will make him look like a he’s a fashion guy or something. Even when Kristen is dressed up she tries to be all edgy instead classy, and the Converse tennis shoes with dresses, please. No grown person would do that in Hollywood. They both embrace the grungy, dirty, smelling of beer and cigarettes look.
No Colin Firth? What a joke.
Stewart dresses like guys and she wants to be one. She definitely is manlier than he is.
I’m surprised Matt Smith isn’t on the list. He might look like a hipster but at least he puts the effort in.
He looks like Ron Burgundy.
No.
Vee: This guy is drop dead gorgeous
=======================================
When he shaves, he is. When he doesn’t he looks scuzzy. Some guys can carry off the stubble and some can’t. He can’t.
This guy really looks great in a suit. I like the Gucci cut he wears – he was on Leno late last year wearing a gray suit and looked amazing.
Wish he wouldn’t suck in his cheeks like in the first pic. Love the second photo … very sexy. Don’t really care what he’s wearing!
He’s got some smudge spots on that blue suit, like he ate a sugar donut and then managed to get some on his suit jacket.
I still think he looks like a hobo. One that can`t act.
David Beckham is more like the UK’s Best-Undressed Man (as long as he keeps his mouth shut).
They should have Colin Firth and Daniel Radcliffe on that list. And Prince Harry would’ve been good, too.
Yeah… I don’t love his clothing at all, but his hair is okay. That’s about as far as I can see that one. David Beckham gets my vote.
he can’t act for the life of him, but is incredibly charming in interviews.
stewart is the opposite in my books:she can act, but comes across tough in events and interviews.
oh, and i do think he’s gorgeous in a suit and with scruff.
and i do think she is beautiful, but not in a HW kind of way. and as a young straight girl, i don’t appreciate “the manly” phrases bc of her attitude or choice of clothing. she dresses as most young student girls over here do.
