You may know by now that I am both a cat and a dog person. I grew up, for the most part, with cats, but I did have a childhood dog that I adored, and I am currently a proud dog mother to one 100-pound neurotic monster/mutt. I have cat siblings, though, as my mom is still very much a cat person, and whenever I go to her house, the cats seem to gravitate towards me, knowing that I cannot resist their little kitty faces. One in particular (the insane one) seems to want to live in my hair. I let her. What I’m trying to say is that I get a sense about people when I see them around their animals, and you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat their animal(s).
So what can we tell about Ryan Gosling by the way he treats his dog, George? At first I thought Ryan was just mother-hen-ing his puppy because of the crowd, but I think the enormous puppy is being carried in his daddy’s arms because there was an escalator situation. George looks like the kind of dog who gives his dad a “I’m not walking on that motherchucking thing, you need to carry me” look, and his dad complies. Note: when my dog gives me that look, I give HIM a look that says “Dream on, a–hole.”
Basically, my take on Ryan and George’s dynamic is that George is probably the love of Ryan’s life. I think George is probably priority number one, and George probably gets final say on all of the girlfriends that come around too. My guess is that George likes to sleep in his dad’s beg too. A man and his dog – don’t mess with it, ladies.
Here are some additional photos of Ryan at the LA Film Festival premiere of his new film, Drive. I’ll have some photos of Christina Hendricks in a moment. Don’t get me started.

I’m with you, Kaiser….my dogs & cats are my babies. I love that George seems to be #1 in Ryan’s life!
All is fine, except for the red socks.
Is his dog a hipster, too? Is he starting a new trend by shaving his dog down this way? Do we call it a “dohawk”??
In other news, Ryan isn’t really good-looking, yet I find him completely sexy. I love his style (red socks included).
I think I’ve found a new love for men and dogs ever since Rob Pattinson got his dog Bear. Normally a picture like this does nothing for me but suddenly I’m finding Ryan Gosling attractive for the first time ever just because he’s being sweet and carrying a dog. Awww. He looks really hot with the dog.
Oh I just love this! You can tell a LOT about a person by the way they treat animals. And I dig the red socks, too. His hotness just increased TONS, and I didn’t think that was possible 🙂
Fur-hawks are cool!
Nose job, overrated and butterface.
Yum!
That dog is soooo cute! I love a man who loves his dog. But has Ryan always been this…thin? He looks positively girlish in that blue suit.
Count me in with everyone who think his hotness just exploded. And George is cute too, he looks like he hasn’t missed too many meals in his life!
Who’d have thought Ryan would channel Seely Booth???
The scruff. The blue eyes. Tight britches. The jaw line. The unusual dress sense. Dog daddy.
(swoons)
Yeah, I’ve never been a fan of Ryan Gosling’s but after seeing him carrying his dog, I’m melting…
he ‘s not the one in the celebrities: jennifer Anniston,Jake Guyllenhal or Renée Zellwegger are known as crazy in love with their dogs
What is up with that dog’s fur? It looks like he had it cut down because of a skin problem, but I guess I don’t understand why he’d leave such random patches.
One of my best celebs.Wonderful he is a dog person. Love dogs and cats.
Looking at George I bet he had some surgery. He’s only shaved on half his body, and you’d think a flea or tick issue would be his entire body. So maybe Ryan’s carrying him because of that too.
I think someone thought it would be cute to give the dog a mohawk. Probably shaved down due to the heat.
Ryan does go up a few places in my hotness book, now that I know he has a dog and will carry it up an escalator.
One of my dogs… the biggest one of course..will not go up and down inside stair cases…sigh. LOL hes a bit “different”
*swoon* George is a lucky pup! This makes me love Ryan even more.
Red socks?!!, yikes!
A man who is committed and loves his dog?! That is soooo cute, I’m such sucker for guys like those
that’s an ugly ass mutt. and why is he carrying it???
F*ck! He’s hot. I’m a total dog lover & seeing be a sweet daddy to his dog is adorable!
Ryan was in my town (Oxford, Oh)a couple of months back filming “Ides of March” and he brought that dog everywhere. He stayed in a hotel that allowed dogs while everyone else stayed somewhere nicer. He dressed the dog up in a green outfit because it was the University’s green beer day. Ryan is super skinny in person, which I find very unattractive on a man but the fact that he adores that ugly-ass mixed breed, of which I am the proud owner of two, makes him 100X hotter in my book.
Anyone who loves an animal is great in my book. This is very heart-warming. I have two dogs and two cats that I totally adore, and three of them are rescues.
It not just that he’s carrying a dog, its that he carrying a very BIG dog up the escalator! Very sweet.
Not easy to carry a dog that big! Love the red socks! Has just that touch of insouciance, like Letterman’s whites.
Does anyone know what breed of dog that is? He’s very cute! I like both cats and dogs, but only have cats at the moment due to renting. I miss having a puppy around!
Even if Ryan gave me rabies, I would still die happy. Woof-Woof.
I love him even more, now.
A friend of tinkerbell!
@Hannah: Ahhh, what a great story, thanks for sharing.
He has lost some weight recently and doesn’t look as buff as he was a couple of years ago. Still tots hot in my book tho. Love those squinty too close together eyes.
I think I just had an orgasm.
Hahahaha! That ain’t no puppy, that’s a big dog. Super cute pic tho.
@ hooblie: lol. i have two big dogs and one of them is also afraid of stairs. she weighs 110 and i weight 125 so that makes for a good time! she is also afraid of wind, fire extinguishers, lawnmowers and round objects. she too is a bit “different!”
as for ryan, well, i love a man who loves his dog so his hotness factor just skyrocketed.
@Hooblie and Original Kate – my pup is afraid of stairs – indoors and out – brooms and anything that rolls. She’s way different.
And my hubby is never hotter than when he’s carrying all 65 pounds of her up 5 steps.
Likewise, Ryan has never looked hotter than this.
*hump
Love it!!
he’s creepy i’m sry he’s creepy!
