Isn’t this what douchebags always do? They can’t commit but tell you what a wonderful person you are and how they’ll miss you. Then once you’re well over them and happy in another relationship, (or happy on your own and finally realizing how much better off you are, take your pick) they come crawling back asking for another chance. It’s lame, it’s manipulative and it’s predictable. Anyway John Mayer is supposedly doing this to Jennifer Aniston. This is in the National Enquirer, but they’ve run a few exclusives before about Aniston’s lovelife (or they made them up, but they rang true) and I believe it. Here’s the story.
Jennifer Aniston is happily dating [Justin Theroux] but being barraged with text messages from [John Mayer] say sources.
“Jennifer is totally involved with Justin, and wants absolutely nothing to do with John,” revealed a friend.
“John broke Jen’s heart, but that doesn’t seem to faze him.
“He’s been relentless in his pursuit of Jennifer lately – texting her witty messages, sending love poems and calling to ask her out. But it’s been two years since they were together and Jen sees it as far too little too late.
“She feels she’s found a better, more responsible and reliable man.”

I guess you can’t blame Mayer for trying, since Aniston took him back even after he blabbed to the paparazzi about how he broke up with her. It’s worth noting that Mayer gained some weight, not that there’s anything wrong with that since he’s an attractive guy either way before he opens his mouth. He’s not cutting his hair or shaving though and just looks like fresh hell lately. Meanwhile Aniston is frozen in time and remains very bangable, by most guys’ estimations. Like we may mock her for not switching it up much but she’s got a good formula going. Now she has a hot man by her side and can’t be bothered by Mayer. I hope she told him to f#ck off but you know that’s not her style. She probably just blinked a lot, called him back (since I doubt she texts) and engaged in small talk before she let him down easy, making some excuse that she was busy.
I have to give Mayer some credit for laying low lately. He hasn’t tweeted or blogged in months (from my quick look-over) and is just going about his business. Maybe he’s matured behind the scenes. We’ll see when he inevitably comes back. I give him four months, but seriously props to him for going this long.

I’d take Justin over this douche anyway. I always feel that the only reason John Mayer dates any of these chicks (Jessica, Jen, Taylor) is for the publicity. And of course, the publicity he gets when he breaks up with them.

John Mayer strikes me as the kind of guy whose conquests /relationships might have more to do with him proving something to himself and other guys.
That is why he brags, manipulates and acts like a douche. It’s as if to say “that’s right mother f*ckers” I can get the hot chicks” or “Hey dude, I’ll steal your girl, screw her and leave her in my wake, and she’ll still want me!” Maybe he was bullied when he was young; maybe he lost his first love to some Jock or something. I definitely think he operates from an immature, suspended state of emotional conflict.
I completely believe that he is calling Aniston again, if only to prove that he can get back into her head. It’s so he can tell himself, and others that he is the sh*t.
That said, I did find that one episode of a show he had on Vh1 years ago pretty funny.
One word comes to mind when I think of John Mayer – “Infection”
Don’t find either of the guys attractive (or her, for that matter), but JM is so skanky.

I hope John Meyer comes back and puts her in her place with that mouth of his, if this is not true. I’m sick of JA appearing like “America’s sweetheart, and the good girl”, when she has a serious track record of smearing people to benefit herself. Her and Brad Pitt’s split was nothing more than two people mutually deciding it wasn’t working, yet she’s managed to turn that into the cheating scandal of all time, while Brad Pitt took the high road and just kept his mouth shut. Now, she swoops in, steals JT’s 14-year girlfriend, and makes that girl look like some unstable, clinging woman who wouldn’t move out, or that they weren’t that serious. I just do not like her style, and didn’t like the things she did to, and said about BP, LONG before they split up. In fact, back then I barely knew who she was, but she minimized BP and said such strange “put downs” about him, that it caught my attention. Whatever. I’m glad the J-P’s are happy at least, and don’t need to deal with her.
I had to work this morning, and was forced to listen to about an album’s worth of John Mayer songs. It was horrible. What I don’t get is how he can very publicly be such a douche bag to all these famous women, and then write a bunch of sappy, and sensitive songs about how much he loves them and wants the world to be a good place. We’re not buying it John! We know you’re a tool.

Ridiculous….they are so over and have both moved on long ago. I saw that interview on Oprah with Jennifer Aniston that you mention. I did NOT get the impression that it was cruel, unkind, or in any way reflected anything other than a marriage/woman who was growing in her understanding of “soul mates” which was the genesis of the quote. She wasn’t sure she believed in soul mates as a construct of love. I was on board with her, and I was in a long marriage myself at the time. So, I guess every viewer had a different response to that interview.
