Josh Holly, the 19-year-old cyber hacker who stole personal, racy photos of then-15-year-old Miley Cyrus from her Gmail account, may be facing criminal charges. The hacker boasted about how easy it was for him to pose as a MySpace administrator, steal Cyrus’ G-mail password and gain unauthorized access to the young star’s photos stored online. These photos included the teen in a bikini, as well as in a wet T-shirt in the shower.
You don’t mess with Miley Cyrus and expect no one to notice.
The Tennessee apartment of Josh Holly, the admitted hacker who bragged about breaking into Cyrus’ old email account and posting racy pictures of the teen star online, was raided Monday morning in connection with his alleged dirty deeds, reports Wired.com’s Threat Level blog.
The FBI did not immediately return calls for comment, but Cyrus’ attorney, William Sobel, tells E! News, “This is an ongoing investigation and we appreciate the efforts of the FBI.”
Here’s a little nugget of wisdom for Miley: if you don’t take the photos to begin with, they won’t be available to be stolen. In this day and age, anyone, famous or not, needs to realize that nothing is “private” anymore- especially anything stored on a computer. Don’t get me wrong: this hacker kid is a moron – and a criminal. As much as I dislike Miley Cyrus – I think her wholesome image is phoney baloney – Josh Holly should be brought up on charges. He invaded her privacy illegally and on top of that, Cyrus is a minor. Let’s see how much this cyber nerd enjoys being on house arrest with no access to the Internet.

she didn’t leak those photos? weird.
*edit– whatever, it was her. why else would you have a picture of yourself in a wet t-shirt…in the shower?
Taking the pictures was bad enough. She posted them to her gmail account. As soon as they’re uploaded, even a pimply-faced teenager can get at them. And if he “posed as a MySpace administrator”, the dumb bitch gave him her password.
I think this no-talent redneck skank needs to go away, and if the laws of the land are expected to be upheld by the rank-and-file, her underpants model bf needs to be charged with statutory rape, and if her parents protest, they should be charged with hindering prosecution.
I don’t suppose there’s a chance that Miley will face criminal charges for taking those duck-lipped, prepubescent photos of herself and putting them online where people would eventually see them?
I agree WTF?!? she is a dumb bitch.
Do the crime do the time 👿
If only we made the rules here at CB, eh, syko… 😈
When I am president….
Or benevolent dictator…
Looks like she has a little Westie puppy…same dog as me! (except mine is grown up now, still cute though!)
I always wondered why anyone would think she was a “victim” in the Vanity Fair scandal when she looks like such a slut in these pics.
Wow, so many people blaming Miley…
I guess no one every smoked while underaged???
No one ever drank while underaged???
No one ever did anything inappropriate when underaged???
No one had sex before they were the legal age in their state?
I think there are a lot of pots here talking about the kettles…
I bet she took the pics to show to her SO at the time, she travels and was probably away from the person for long periods of times…
Just like soldiers in EVERY WAR since a CAMERA was invented have brought pictures of their girlfriends / boyfriends / Sig Others, I doubt this is much different.
Was she dumb for giving up her pass??? Yes, How did he do it though, Did he call her? How did he get her number, did he send an email with the Addy spoofed??? How do we know that she is the one that gave up the pass? Maybe an assistant did…
In any case, anyone who thinks that she didn’t deserve the privacy when she put those pics up on the net, should really look at the banking institutions out there… Many if not all store backups on systems on the net…
Places like Snapfish, and Kodak, and Facebook, and MySpace and MANY others allow you to place photos online for a select group of people to access…
So why should you expect your privacy, and not she?
Grandizer, no one is blaming her for youthful indiscretions. We all make mistakes. The difference, however, is that most people learn from their mistakes and missteps. This is what, the third or fourth time now that “racy” pictures of Miley have been hacked and leaked for all to see? Fool Miley once, shame on you. Fool Miley twice… you get the point.
Like MSat said, if Miley had not been stupid enough to take and upload said pictures to the internet yet again, then none of this would have happened. She’s just plain ignorant, and I have little sympathy for someone who continually makes themself an easy target.
8. Have you heard Taylor Swift’s new song yet?
