I really do go back and forth when it comes to covering Britney Spears. When it comes down it, my decision usually involves the justification of “Well, I’m not the one putting her out there for all of these naked money-grabs.” The thing it, Britney isn’t the one putting herself out there either. It’s her team. It’s Jamie Spears and Britney’s managers, publicists, agents, etc. Britney, Inc. is still enormously profitable, even if Brit would rather be sitting at home eating cheese doodles. So, these are photos of Britney in Warsaw, Poland yesterday, launching her lingerie collection. She already launched this lingerie line at NYFW, and now it’s Poland’s turn. Real question: do you think Britney had absolutely anything to do with the design and creation of this line? Maybe it doesn’t matter. Because Britney has been pushed into the spotlight to promote the thing, which means we get glorious articles like this:
Pop princess Britney Spears is sending her entire lingerie collection by Royal Mail to the Duchess of Cambridge. We bet Prince William will be delighted. The singer hopes that Kate, 32, will even give her a sneaky peek of what she looks like in her new clobber. Now that might be wishful thinking.
Speaking at the launch for her Intimate undie range last night, Britney, also 32, revealed: “I would love to see Kate in my underwear designs. That would be splendid. I’m going to send her one of every piece. So she’ll have plenty to choose from.”
In her best English accent, she added: “I’d love to see Gwen Stefani modelling my collection. I think she’s very cool and sexy.”
The newly single star, who split from cheating ex David Lucado, said her fave items are the red bra and panties. In what must have been the shortest press conference in history, lasting a mere two minutes, she purred: “The sexiest item is the cherry red because it stands out and it’s very elaborate and it’s pretty promiscuous.” Eek!
No expense was spared at the do in London’s Cafe Royal Hotel as waiters served beautiful cakes and macaroons and tea in china cups, which reflected the collection’s vintage theme. More than 1,000 flowers, including 500 pale pink roses, had been shipped in and relaxing classical music was played.
A two-minute press conference? A cherry red “underwear” that is “promiscuous”? Duchess Kate in Britney Spears Lingerie? Much joy. So Britney. The thing is, you know Britney’s people gave her a list of talking points to memorize, and I bet you dollars to donuts that she was chomping her gum when she said “I would love to see Kate in my underwear designs.” Y’ALL!

Kim Kartrashian tried sending her stuff before and that got returned; lots of people send stuff to George and that all gets returned too.

I don’t think it’s snootiness, but rather caution that prompts the return of mailed unsolicited gifts by the royal family. As many people have learned throughout time, the most dangerous thing in the world is a stalker fan who thinks you MUST love them because you accepted the gift they sent you. The royals readily accept gifts–flowers, stuffed animals, cards, etc.–at formal events as they press the flesh, and those are most likely checked and then probably donated somewhere else (hospitals, children’s centers, etc.) afterwards.
In my opinion, It’s really more than a matter of being ‘too good to accept gifts from others,’ but the fact that they really must be cautious and that they already have more than they, or you and I, could use/enjoy in a lifetime.
Also, we all know that the Duchess doesn’t like to wear underwear.

But it doesn’t have to get returned. It could get stored away, but still kept. Or even regifted. As long as it’s not seen in public it doens’t matter. Although, it can be seen in public if say Britney sent it to Pippa to give to Kate. Which has been done. There’s more evidence they accept gifts and regift than return to sender.
Bottom Line. Unsolicited gifts is in theory not to be accepted. They are though. And the palace even said they accept gifts.
Didn’t KM accept some maternity lingerie last time around? From a New Zealand designer maybe?

Britney needs to go see the old lady at Macy’s who measures you for your proper bra size. She hasn’t worn the correct size in about 5 years now.
If you’re not getting measured every 6 months to a year you’re very likely not wearing the correct size. Or Putting it on correctly.
Is that a Britney clone? I read somewhere there are several Britney doubles for the Vegas show. Don’t know if it’s true, but the whole thing is taped so why not?
Hopefully she’ll continue to get lucrative deals that don’t involve performance. Maybe do a Jessica Simpson thing. Seeing videos of her performing live is hard. It’s still clear she’s not 100% okay mentally or emotionally. Otherwise, someone else wouldn’t be managing her money.
Agree. If she’s happy performing, great. If not though she doesn’t need to continue to stress herself out to give jobs to others. Her father seems very sketchy in all this.
The only connection I can see between Britney and Kate is their eyeliner.

Birdie I don’t know what pictures you are looking at.In all the one’s I see ,I see someone that look’s nervous and uncomfortable and not lovely.I don’t mean to be cruel to Britney because I like her and feel for her but I think these pictures are disturbing.She looked far better and much more relaxed when her line first came out and she was in the orange jumpsuit.I thought Britney is almost like she use to be.Not here.Something isn’t right.
I bemoan the Britney machine but i will always love and defend ms spears to the death. So please keep covering her, some of us who grew up with her, she’s only a year older than me, still love her and want to hear when good things happen for her 🙂

Ironic how Kate who is famous for exposing her butt & breasts is gifted the entire lingerie collection by Britney. Maybe Britney’s team is hoping that the next time Kate gives the world another glimpse of her private parts, Kate will be wearing BS’ lingerie and thus be good & free publicity.
