Joe Francis is suicidal, has ADHD & personality disorder w/ narcissism

The Smoking Gun has the full text of the psychiatrist’s report who was sent to examine Girls Gone Wild head Joe Francis, who up until yesterday was floundering in a Florida prision for 35 days on contempt of court charges. He will be sent today to Nevada to face tax evasion charges, and is also being charged with misdemeanor sexual battery in LA stemming from an incident in January when he groped a woman at a party.

Yesterday sources quoted at TMZ said he was crying in prison every day, and coupled with the news that Joe was suffering anxiety attacks and generally freaking out in prison, he didn’t sound like he was coping so well.

Now comes the refreshingly clinical breakdown of Joe’s mental state. He’s had ADHD for a long time, says the psychiatrist’s report, and he is also diagnosed with a personality disorder NOS (not otherwise specified) with narcissistic and immature tendencies. That doesn’t mean he has narcissistic personality disorder per se, just that he has characteristics of it. (I’m sure the same thing could be said of Paris, while Britney has it full blown.)

Joe responded well to the psychiatrist’s questions, and did not seem disturbed, although he is considered a suicide risk.

He is taking 100 mg of anti-anxiety drug Atarax three times a day, and 15 mg of anti-anxiety drug Buspar twice a day. In terms of drug use he denied drinking more than a drink a week and said he barely used cocaine, never used pot, and tried mushrooms.

Mr. Francis was cooperative and responsive throughout the interview, which lasted about two hours. We were alone in a small interview room and I noticed his feet were shackled…

Though he has no history of psychiatric hospitalization, Mr. Francis did provide an extensive outpatient treatment history since age six, when he was first diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and prescribed Ritalin… He stopped taking the medication when he was 15 as he was “embarassed – I wanted to hide the fact that I was on Ritalin – I didn’t want to take it anymore.” In that time frame he was also sent to various boarding school placements, the longest for two years. He has avoided psychiatric treatment over the past ten years, but reported that he has been prescribed… medications by his family physician to include Ativan and Xanax…

Current mental status examination reveals him to be oriented, alert, cooperative and of above normal intelligence with an excellent fund of knowledge and fundamental skills. Responses were relevant and coherent, while memory and concentration were unimpaired. I was informed that over the past week, he had exhibited a clinically unstable demeanor, but he now appeared… stable with an approciate affect, likely due to the increased medication… He did, however express a potential for suicidal activiy if his incarceration is prolonged. There was no evidence of a psychotic process or thought disorder, though he demonstrated a rather authoritative demeanor. Judgment was generally adequate, though he acknowledged a lack of patience and understanding with the recent events that led to his incarceration. There was some evidence of social immaturity, while insight into his situation was rather marginal.

Based on this intial evaluation, I would make a preliminary diagnosis of:

AXIS I: ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVE DISORDER vs. BIPOLAR DISORDER vs. CYCLOTHYMIC DISORDER.
ADJUSTMENT DISORDER WITH ANXIETY vs. ANXIETY DISORDER
R/O POLYSUBSTANCE ABUSE
AXIS II: PERSONALITY DISORDER, NOS, WITH IMMATURE AND NARCISSISTIC FEATURES.

Mr. Francis, though highly successful in his business endeavors, he does demonstrate significant psychiatric issues and appears to have shunned psychiatric treatment to deal with his unresolved personality conflicts, out of embarrassment.

The psychiatrist goes on to say that he would benefit from an inpatient diagnostic treatment program and seems to recommend that he be moved to a psychiatric facility saying that “Continued confinement in his current status would be psychiatrically counterproductive.”

Is it wrong of me to get such a kick out of this cold clinical assessment of this ass?

If only we could get writeups like this on Britney, Lohan and Paris. There seems to be a lot of narcissistic personality disorder and bipolar going around.

Joe Francis was moved to a nearby facility yesterday from the jail that was making him cry, and was said to be waiting for extradiction to Nevada. He did not show up at a scheduled hearing this morning in Florida for using minors in a sexual performance and the judge has filed a motion to keep him from leaving the state.
