Blake Lively is knocked up! YAY. Blake announced the news on Preserve, her “artisanal” and unique site, but she couldn’t just write “I’m pregnant, y’all.” First she wrote a poem about family and then she posted a million photos of pregnant women and the last photo was this ^^ pic that I’m using as a header photo. Blake’s bump is sizeable – easily second trimester, right? This is the crap about family on Preserve:
Preserve at its core is about family.
Family is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on.
We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized, we don’t have anything for the new.
With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all—to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.
Today we celebrate them. With food to fill their tummies (as if that needs more filling), presents to soothe their tired (and swollen) soles, toys to warm their baby’s souls, projects to provoke them, and decorations to inspire creativity and merriment in all.
We had too much fun with this. Because there’s so much to share, we break up our first ever Preserve Celebration into multiple parts. In the upcoming days we will bring even more treats and fun. The entire next month will be sprinkled with highlights for women in this exciting chapter of their lives.

This isn’t really shocking to me, as Blake has been talking about kids and wanting to get pregnant for a while. I was actually surprised that she didn’t get knocked up sooner, but there were rumors that she might have had some fertility issues. So, this will be Blake and Ryan’s first kid. I’m happy for them – I think they both really wanted to be parents. Congrats!

She DID announce her pregnancy within an announcement that her company is going to be shilling more baby products. That is some pretty hard core commercialization of a pregnancy! Tying in such an event with the selling of stuff is crass.

She’s a fascinating study in PR, that’s it. She also announced her pregnancy on her commercial website. She’s selling motherhood…another Mocktress.

Although, her acting isn’t the worst out there and it’s rare she’s in a film i’m watching. So, it doesn’t bother me if she continues to act or not.
Unless, she’s in a film I was really looking forward to seeing and her acting ruined it I couldn’t care any less. Because we’re lucky enough to choose what we watch and what we pay for. I think that’s a reference to pregnant womens abdominal regions already being filled in by a baby growing in them. You know how some women refer to their occupied womb as a “growing tummy” or “a baby growing in Mommy’s tummy” when explaining their condition to children. Not about getting fat.
I understand that it’s saying the tummy has a baby growing inside it, but the website is listing items that it sells that an expecting mother might like to receive and it sounds like (tongue in cheek) fat shaming to me. That’s the way I read it.

Lainey’s distaste for belly cupping is like an obsession with her. It gets on my nerves too. No reason to shame those who do or don’t do it.

That’s a weird thing to be grossed out by, it is interesting how people like touching bumps though, I’ve been pregnant twice (I have a 5 year old and 6month old twins). I can’t decide if its a protective instinct or if it’s just a way to cuddle the unborn lol, all I know is that it’s not something you consciously do, it’s just instinct(i would catch myself doing it before actual movement could be felt on the outside, so don’t think that’s the reason), it’s human nature.
In response (but off on a tangent) to the possibility of fat shaming pregnant and recently pregnant new mums- I think it’s sad that we live in a world where anyone (not just mums) feels the need to justify their bodyto others (or themselves). I do it to myself actually (I haven’t lost any weight since having my babies), my current “excuse” to myself is that I am still breastfeeding and thats more important than dieting for weightloss, and that I am no longer able to proform conventinal exercise (due to pelvic floor injuries sustained from giving birth/ being pregnant). When really I shouldn’t need to justify my self to myself (aka fat shame myself because I have been programed by the media into thinking I need to look a certain way to be worthy of existance).
Breast feeding is more important. I was so set on losing weight after my first, that my milk supply dried up quickly. I still regret that.
Lol when I was pregnant, I didn’t even mind when people I barely knew touched my stomach. I thought it was sweet, and they almost always asked.

I think you better go around with your eyes closed then. Pregnant women have a right to cup their bellies as much as they want and so do the dads. Insinuating that there is something wrong with that is immature. Considering all the other BS that pregnant women and new mothers have to put up with about ownership of their bodies, where they can and can’t breastfeed it’s sexist.
I think women bellycup on red carpets so that it’s clear in photos that they are pregnant and not just a bit heavier. I never thought to put my hand under my belly in photos during my pregnancies and there are definitely pictures where it might not be clear why I’ve gained weight. I think it’s a photo vanity thing for a lot of celebs–like turning to the side so you look thinner and bending your arm so your tricep looks toned etc.
Also, I think Lainey’s posting all the lip cyst photos to distract from something cosmetic she’s going to have done. That’s my theory anyway.
She is so extra. I bet Vogue is already setting up a cover shoot for this. And LMAO at that write up.
If she gets another Vogue while Posh still hasn’t had one cover, well….I won’t do anything because I started boycotting Vogue several years ago, but I will complain on Vicki’s behalf. Loudly! LOL

Uh they did sell pics of their wedding to Martha Stewart’s magazine and my guess is that they’ll probably just put up a pic of the child on their website when its born.
And there were only a few set of pap pics of Scarlett when she was pregnant and there’s been no pics at all since she gave birth a month ago. Aside from the announcement of pregnancy and the announcement of her giving birth, Scarlett was low key.
I don’t think Blake’s gonna be low key about this pregnancy. Hell there’s already baby items up for sale on Preserve.
So how come no one has ever seen these wedding pics apart from the pictures of food that were given for free to Martha?
The fact remains that there were definitely pap pics of a pregnant Scarlett in NY. She could have disappeared entirely like Eva Mendes if she had wanted
And Scarlett announced her engagement and ring very publicly at the Venice film festival so she’s not above playing the game when she wants, (no shade all celebs play the game IMO)

So pictures of the food and bouquet and the reception setting, and knowing where the wedding took place and how many people were there is NOT selling your wedding because there were no full pics of Blake and Ryan? To use what you said back in your face, they could’ve not gave or sold ANY wedding pictures of all if they wanted to.
Scarlett’s pregnancy was extremely lowkey for an actress on her level. As mentioned, two annoucements, a few pap shots, the last batch being in August…and that’s it. She’s not on social media so she wasn’t providing people regular updates on the state of her womb nor did she use her pregnancy to promote Winter Soldier or Lucy. Eva Mendes is not as big of a star as Scarlett nor was she working on a highly anticipated project like Scarlett was so it’s easier for her to go completely undercover.
And Blake herself confirmed on her website that there will be more mommy centered stuff on her site in the upcoming weeks. So she and Ryan might’ve waited to announce the pregnancy but there’s no indication that she will be low key about it.
How is people knowing where the wedding of Blake or any celeb took place a sign of anything? People know were Kate Winslet’s wedding happened and what she wore but it wasn’t a strategy to a masterplan
They did not announce an engagement beforehand. Martha planned the wedding and they gave her food shots as a favour there was no pics of humans, bridal fittings or dress or pre-planning like others (no shade there) and they could have sold it to People or US like their peers do if it was attention they wanted as that is far more like their demographic and market.
Blake was last photographed some weeks back when she was evidently already pregnant and she has since decided to announce what looks like a 4-5 month pregnancy on her blog, because people will find out eventually, rather rather than give an exclusive.
This does not suggest she’s now going to be giving people updates status on her womb. But we’ll disagree on what low key is
