Eminem must be hurting for material and trying to figure out who he hates now that he no longer has his on-off wife Kim Mathers to fantasize about killing in his rap songs. His latest target is clothing-challenged Mariah Carey, with whom he claims he had an affair six years ago, which Carey denies.
Eminem plans to diss Carey in his upcoming album, and he’s milking their supposed one-time affair for as much publicity as possible. He’s supposedly going to reveal details of what went on between them, and Carey has asked the head of her record label, L.A. Reid of Island Def Jam, to try and convince Eminem not to rap about her:
“There is more than one track that goes into really specific, intimate detail about what went on between Em and Mariah,” an insider tells OK! magazine.
The source claims Carey has asked the head of her Island Def Jam label, L.A. Reid, to intervene.
“Mariah wishes she could sue Eminem for slander,” says the snitch. “But it’s his freedom of speech.”
Ill will has continued to simmer between the recording stars, even though they seem to have had the briefest of affairs in 2001.
Eminem mocked Carey by releasing voice messages, said to be from her, of a woman pleading: “Why won’t you see me? Why won’t you call me?”
[From NY Daily News]
Carey said in a Playboy interview quoted in the Daily News that something’s wrong with Enimen and that she wonders why he’s obsessed with her.
These two have gone over this ground before. Mariah Carey’s song Clown on her 2002 album Charmbracelet is thought to be about Eminem while Eminem’s 2003 single Superman is probably about Mariah and names her directly.
Mariah Carey’s “Clown“:
I like your music too, and
I should´ve never called you back
When you pursued me
I should´ve never given you
My f&*$ing N two way
I should´ve never listened
To your woeful stories
The ones I´m sure you
Told a thousand times before me
You should´ve never intimated
We were lovers
When you know very well
We never even touched each other
Eminem’s “Superman“:
Don’t put out? i’ll put you out
Won’t get out? i’ll push you out
P*ss blew out, poppin sh*t
Wouldn’t p*ss on fire to put you out
Am I too nice? buy you ice
Bitch if you died, wouldn’t buy you life
What you tryin to be, my new wife?
What you Mariah? fly through twice
But I do know one thing though
Bitches they come, they go
Mariah said in a 2003 Maxim interview, “I knew [Eminem], I hung out with him a few times, but nothing sexual occurred,” and if you read the lyrics to Eminem’s “Superman,” that seems to be true: “Don’t put out? i’ll put you out.”
Six years after their supposed affair, and Eminem is dragging it up again and claiming that they were intimate. It seems like someone really can’t let go and needs a new girlfriend to hate on.
