As we learned late yesterday, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are getting a divorce after a tumultuous four years of marriage. My #hottake was that of course they were splitting, the writing was on the wall for more than a year and that they were barely in the same place at the same time nowadays. I also think that Blake probably does have a wandering eye – at least that’s what the tabloids have been saying for a while now. Anyway, here are some additional stories about the divorce (which has already been finalized!!!).
Blake is the one who filed for divorce. He filed in Oklahoma two weeks ago and that might explain why we’re only hearing about now – TMZ doesn’t have a ton of sources in the Oklahoma court system, so they didn’t get any tips ahead of time.
They had a prenup. Neither Miranda or Blake wanted to invalidate the prenup, so they’re basically walking away with their own separate assets. It sounds like even though they’ve been together for years, they always kept their assets separate anyway. Blake is getting the ranch in Oklahoma (which is weird because Miranda has invested in several businesses in the area) and Miranda gets their Nashville home. Miranda has spent the past few weeks moving out of the Oklahoma ranch, and by that I mean moving her menagerie out, which includes “horses, a camel and a llama.”
The divorce is already done. The judge signed the divorce papers yesterday in Oklahoma – apparently, the state of Oklahoma has a very expedited divorce process.
They barely spent any time together. People Magazine has released a series of stories (similar to what they did for the Affleck-Garner split) about “what went wrong.” One of the main reasons for the split, according to People, is that Blake and Miranda really didn’t spend much time together even from the start of their marriage: “the newlyweds spent only about 150 days together in their first 18 months of marriage.”
Blake didn’t cheat. Maybe. That’s what People Mag’s close-to-Blake source is saying. The source is likely Blake’s manager or something but here’s what the source told People: “Blake is just that incredibly loyal and dedicated husband. I can guarantee you he has been faithful to that woman… he hasn’t cheated ever.” Except when he cheated on his first wife with Miranda, amirite?
Miranda comes from a family of private investigators. Both her parents were PIs. Just remember that. Blake claimed he gave Miranda access to all of his electronic devices and social media accounts so she could monitor him in case she was ever worried. I’m sure this will come up in future gossip.
Update: In a new story on TMZ this morning, sources claim that Blake believes Miranda was the one who cheated, which is why Blake was the one to file for divorce. Blake believed that Miranda was too friendly with singer Chris Young and that she possibly slept with another guy at least twice. Apparently, Blake is “very upset” and he told Miranda a few weeks ago that she needed to get all of her animals off the Oklahoma property.

Yup if Blake is already leaking this stuff, this is going to get messy. And country fans (I am one) are notoriously harder on females than males in these situations, so I hope her career isn’t effected, but I doubt it.
I was just telling my best friend that she must have done something. I think with all his rumors of cheating that if he screwed her over there would be backlash against him. Most country fans love her and would take her side.
I think she will be ok as long as she doesn’t go all Leann.
How tacky that he would even comment on this in public…. I hope Miranda comes back with a zinger as payback. Ugh!
I don’t really follow these two but there’s something that’s always bugged me about him. Maybe it’s simply that I don’t find him attractive. Interesting tidbit about her parents being PIs. I can imagine the scrutiny all her SOs underwent! 🙂

Never liked him either. He always translated as ‘smug and overly self-satisfied’, to me. Plus I’m not a modern day country music fan, so that played into it as well.
ETA: After perusing the photos again, they look SO MUCH alike. They could be a ‘before’ make-up (sans fard?) and ‘after’ make-over comparison. This is so typical in Hollywood, isn’t it?
Of course they broke up. They got together when he was married to someone else. If he can do it to her, he can do it to you girl.
The part about him divorcing her because he “thinks” she cheated sounds weird and extreme. It seems like most people who care about saving their marriage would try to at least work through it for a while (or at least pay lip service to it) instead of going straight to divorce court.
Sounds like he is trying to get his “story” out first! He must know all t he rumers that have been swirling around him for years, about his cheating. He is trying to deflect some of the blame on Miranda…but, who knows…only the two people in the marriage, really know what happened!

Well Blake has to plant the story first because he has several years of cheating rumors (and a previous marriage) that already puts him in a bad light. They were never going to last regardless but Miranda’s career blowing up, her losing a lot of weight, Blake’s drinking…all signs pointed to trouble
Sounds like a preemptive strike to me.
Is it wrong I’m kinda snickering over all of this? The start of their relationship was less than auspicious, they spent a lot of time saying, “we’re FINE!”, and there’s been cheating rumors pretty much from the get-go. Like, why did you guys even bother?
Total photo assumption, but my feeling is that being on that show suddenly meant he had opportunities (career, sexual) that went beyond “country star” and he doesn’t want to be constrained by marriage to a woman near his own age.
I think we can anticipate much tackiness from this fellow in years to come. He’s already proven this whole “till death to us part” thing is pretty loosey-goosey for him.
This has always been my theory–that when he got all the press for The Voice (folks saying he’s so hot and the such), his head exploded.
She’s already a good ten years younger than he is. I mean, Blake was putting out records at at point where having a mullet was fashionable.
Remember, Blake is a network TV star… ge’ll be protected.
I always thought he was kinda flirty with the ladies. Did he really draw the line at cheating? If so he’s a better man than I thought.
Hmmmm, is that why she really started losing weight? Because she had a new man? That’s a good sign, men or woman.
I’m sure his first wife got a good chuckle out of the “he’s so loyal he never cheated” comments.

I remember when the rumors of issues with them started way back so I’m not terribly shocked.
Hopefully they keep it peaceful and just go their separate ways and support each other.

Yeah, 2 weeks seems fast. I looked it up and couples with no kids can get divorced in 10 days in Oklahoma. Wow!
I can’t believe you can get that divorced that quick in OK. I live on the TX/OK border. Wow! I have been in a fight with my husband longer than 2 weeks, if I knew it was that easy who knows what I would have done. Just kidding (kind of)

Ugh- I hate the “git your animals off my property STAT” angle. These aren’t cats and dogs- and those can take some time as well to relocate. I hope she can re-home them successfully in Tenn, or wherever.
Not a fan of either of their music- but divorces can be fast-tracked if there’s nothing in dispute. Maybe one or the other had the goods on the putative cheater, and that party had no interest in all that being aired.
She’s very wealthy and she likely has a property (or properties) where they can go. That ranch is not her only land.
Hope you’re right. Remember, tho, you may have the acreage, but zoning, etc may ban certain animals.
Tig – she’s a big animal lover. I’m sure she’ll at the very least rent a place for them temporarily, or find a friend who can board them for a bit. That’s one thing I’ll always respect about her – she does a ton of work for rescue dogs, and seems to adore her animals.
Normal people rules don’t apply to celebrities. She has the resources to deal with this in a way you and I could only dream about. Outside city limits there aren’t too many restrictions unless you seriously piss someone off, and she’s rich and famous enough that people would be worried about pissing her off, not the other way round.
I’m sure it’s still stressful for her, but it’s not a question of re-homing her animals, it’s a question of deciding where she will take them and coordinating the move. I’m assuming you mean re-home in the common usage of having to give them up to other people because you are no longer able to care for them. She’s likely quite able to care for them, she just now has the hassle of moving them out of the family ranch to one of her places.
Maybe since she came from a family of PIs maybe she thought she was smart when it came to not getting caught. Who knows, plus you just never know what goes on in people’s marriages especially when looking from the outside. What looks golden isn’t always the case.
At a minimum, there are 15 dogs.

Who knows what the truth is but as a devoted tabloid reader, I can attest that the rumors have been t there about her cheating for awhile now.
There have always been rumors about them both, and the ones about her have been around for at least a year or so.. She had a few “overlapping” relationships, and of course, she admitted he was married when they got together. Neither of them respect marriage vows.
He was busted. He has always been a cheater,but since he appears to be such a “nice guy” …the voice needs to keep that image clean …
Blake owned the ranch for years before he met Miranda. It’s in his hometown.
Miranda has a small ranch 10 miles away from Blake’s. In fact…in a magazine interview Miranda pretty much said that he lived at his ranch while she lived at hers and that was the secret to a happy marriage. Ha.
These two always seemed like more of a brand/power couple to me instead of the loving duo. You never read anything about them being a personal, warm couple or seeming to adore each other in any kind of real way. I bet the managers are most upset about this. They did better financially and PR-wise as two together than they will solo.
