Jessa Duggar-Seewald is so happy these days. She was able to maneuver herself away from the Duggar family and somehow, against all odds, she and Jill are getting their own TLC specials. This was always part of Jessa’s endgame – she was SO MAD that Josh Duggar destroyed the reality show and chica really, really does not want to get a job or pay for her own baby stuff. So why not get the “fans” and TLC to pick up the tab? So, Jessa sat down for an exclusive with Entertainment Tonight about her upcoming TLC special and it’s sort of blah blah blah, although there is a detail from a “source” about how Josh, obviously, will not be appearing on Jill and Jessa’s specials.
Jessa Seewald is “looking forward” to returning to TLC in a new special, the 22-year-old reality star told fans on Saturday at the Southern Women’s Show in Orlando, Florida: “We’re going to be doing some filming preparing to welcome this little one into our lives,” the third-eldest Duggar daughter said of the recently-announced special that will follow her and husband Ben as they prepare to welcome their first child in November. “It’s gonna be great.”
TLC is also planning another special around Jessa’s older sister Jill and her husband Derick Dillard. Cameras will follow the couple as they raise their infant son Israel and carry out mission work in Central America.
“We know that our audience is really excited about what’s been going on with Jill and Jessa as they move into young adulthood,” TLC Executive Vice President and General Manager Nancy Daniels told the Associated Press last week. “Now they’re both at the precipice of big changes. With what was happening in their lives in the next few months, it felt like now is the time (for the specials), and we got going pretty quickly.”
Josh Duggar has not been seen in the public eye since checking into rehab, and a source close to the family told ET that the eldest Duggar will not be seen or mentioned on his sisters’ new specials.
“It may be an elephant in the room if they don’t mention it, but this [is] about Jessa and Jill,” the source said. Jessa and Jill, 24, were recently featured in Breaking the Silence, a TLC special about child sexual abuse. “It is going to take a long time before we forgive,” a source told ET of how the family is dealing with the recent drama. “We are all still hurt. Josh is still in rehab, nobody is warm and fuzzy to him yet. It still feels like he is a stranger.”
I’m actually sort of concerned with Jessa in particular and her single-minded insistence on going back to some kind of reality show or reality special programming. Jessa is easily one of the most popular Duggars, but it does seem like the jig is up with this family and I wonder if there’s really going to be that much interest in Jessa’s special. And after all that, what happens if no one really cares? What will Jessa do then?
Oh, and here’s something that will be part of Jessa’s TLC special: she’s planning on a home birth. A lot of the Duggar women do that, although Jill had a really difficult birth and she was hospitalized for several days. Jessa does say that she has a “Plan B” which involves hospitalization just in case.
Also, over the weekend, Ben and Jessa appeared at the Southern Women’s Show in Orlando, and things kept getting awkward. First, Ben and Jessa played the Newlywed Game and Ben admitted that it took him months to fall in love with Jessa (she thought it was love at first sight). And one photographer went off script and asked Jessa about Josh, to which she only responded with silence and a creepy smile. Oh, well. At least people are paying attention to her. That’s what she wanted.

Forgive me, but why do these two even get a show?
…because TLC is now into pimping.
““We’re going to be doing some filming preparing to welcome this little one into our lives,” the third-eldest Duggar daughter said of the recently-announced special that will follow her and husband Ben as they prepare to welcome their first child in November. “It’s gonna be great.”
I get the feeling that at this point, she does not know how to exist or go through life’s milestones without a camera filming it and the affirmation of people watching it.
There’s very little interesting about these two Duggar girls whose rumps TLC seems to be kissing for some strange reason. They’re not overly bright, make dumb comments and don’t do anything other than reproduce on a yearly basis. Not only that but they’re starved for attention fame ho’s who will do anything to keep that money rolling in…..heaven forbid they should actually have to work for a living.
It’s like TLC is backed by a bunch of deviants who want all of these sick shows on the air. I really feel like the TLC execs are a sick, twisted group.
Will Squirrel and GopherBJ be on the show?
Can we get Jill and Jessa Duggar to not appear in Jill and Jessa Duggar’s TLC specials?
Do you have a link to the petition? =P
I wish.
Letting the sponsors know your opinion would be the most direct way to stop this, seeing that TLC wants to try to bring this clan back.
Made me laugh!
oh please, yes!
I wish that there was a like button option!
There’s really nothing behind those huge eyes, is there?
They’re still Duggers. They are the embodiment of everything I’m against. Even the occasional one hour show is saying, “I support the mistreatment of women and child abuse. ” no thank you.
Don’t fall for it it’s people all a trick, to get the Doggers back on the air. Like TLC did with Kate Plus 8 they want to see if people will still watch them so they can roll out their new show next spring.
.
That smug face. I just can’t.
Touching Little Children will NOT quit them, will they?
And while Josh Duggar will not be part of these specials, Jessa’s smirk will be. Drat.
She is very pretty…but I am getting sick of seeing her with that self satisfied smirk on her face. TLC is a joke
I am very sentimental about babies and mothers and little ones and baby knees and baby toes all that. It’s strange that reading about this loony “welcoming our little one into the world” made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Another victim of the perverts. Poor child.
I feel you. The reason why these Duggar pregnancy/birth specials make me uncomfortable is because I don’t feel like they are participating in them so they have hours and hours of professionally recorded video footage to cherish and reminisce over in the future. I feel like it is just a cash and attention grab with these girls. And Jill’s special rankles me in particular because I fear it could very easily degenerate into a “Look at us saving these dirt poor heathen souls in Nicaragua/if it wasn’t for us their lives would be horrible” kind of show. Image is everything, and I don’t trust Touching Little Children to produce a fair, balanced, dignified examination of the Dillards’ life and work in Central America! Missionary work can do great things (full disclosure: my great-grandfather was the first Canadian Methodist missionary to western China and built schools and hospitals that are still in use today), but too often it can appear to be “white Christian people saving the poor brown people from hellfire, poverty, and ignorance” – even when that is NOT what is actually happening on the ground. As my great-grandfather and later my great aunt believed, “The Lord helps those who help themselves, and a missionary’s role should be to help and empower others to help themselves.” But with the Dillards it seems to me like they are using their missionary work to help themselves, and Touching Little Children seems quite happy to make a buck off of it too.
Just my meandering thoughts…hope you are having a great day!
I am and I enjoyed your thoughts. Your great-grandfather sounds like an interesting man. Totally agree with your ideas from Duggars to missionaries.
They sport alot of Razorback gear for not attending the school….or any school.
As a Gator fan and SEC sister, my heart goes out to all Razorbacks tainted with this vomit stain on the silk of humanity.
Monica, I needed a good chuckle this morning.
I thank you.
Lol @Monica. Like the Razorbacks aren’t already having a bad enough season?! This is the last thing they need 😉. Of course, as a Gamecock fan our season isn’t going any better.
Jeez why would she answer any questions about josh? I can’t blame her for not knowing what to say and staying quiet. So odd
It’s just a matter of time til TLC Starts casting their net wider for crazy. I’d gladly trade in 2 honey boo boos and a show like “I was married to a cat” if it would get rid of the back wood breeders and their merry band of molesters off the air. It’s pathetic.
Blah blah..sellfies..selfies..he and his ball cap, her and her chin. Let’s boycott every sponsor and every product!
WTF? This should not be happening. And by the way, what has happened to Josh?
I doubt the marriage will last, she’s too much of a famewhore.
Can’t you just hear her wailing “why am I having a baby if I’m not even going to FINALLY get some attention for it”. I think all of those kids must be starved for attention – they couldn’t have gotten much from their parents.
Sigh..TLC you disgust me. If it wasn’t for The Little Couple and Say Yes to the Dress, I wouldn’t even watch your channel.
How do we find out who the sponsors are?
No..No..NO!! Son of a…just NO! This shizz can NOT be happening! the FCC needs to yank TLC’s license! Jesus Mary and Joseph! Hell to the NO!
Looks like Ima have to go bombard TLC’s Twitter tomorrow with all the NO’S! And I’m going to hit up smug Jessa’s Twitter too tomorrow and let her know exactly how I feel. This is So WRONG!
I couldn’t wait till morning. Went batshit on TLC on Twitter tonight. I’ve never felt SO angry about something in my life. I’ll never sleep now…argh. *sigh*
Vampi–your response was the best. And thank you for your Twitter rant.
The problem is that there are duggars in the show. Thank goodness I don’t watch the Trashy Lowlife Channel.
what about jill’s “midwife” career?
what does her certification allow her to do in her state? i cant believe her broodmare taught her enough math or science to pass anything of substance.
