Gigi Hadid was assaulted in Milan by prankster/assailant Vitalii Sediuk

wenn29572872

Vitalii Sediuk is often described as “a Ukranian prankster” or a “prank journalist.” He is neither. He is a serial assailant of celebrity men and women, mostly women. Sediuk is the guy who tried to climb under America Ferrera’s dress at Cannes a few years back. He was the guy who tried to put his face into Brad Pitt’s crotch at a premiere. He was the guy who physically assaulted Kim Kardashian in Paris. Sediuk is no longer allowed in America, which means he hunts for his victims in Europe almost exclusively now. He was in Milan for fashion week this week, and he was “pranking” his way through some fashion shows. That’s when he decided to assault Gigi Hadid. Here’s the video:

I’ve been thinking about this for a day now, and how scary it must have been for Gigi. I mean, he grabbed her from behind and you can see the lack of understanding in the first second. She didn’t know what was happening or who was doing what. But her instinct was great: elbow him in the f—king face and defend herself. As for her personal security guards not doing much to protect her – according to TMZ, they were temps she hired just for her Milan trip, although their inaction in the video doesn’t speak very highly of their job security overall.

As for Sediuk, he spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the incident and this guy just continues to be a really disgusting douchebag. This is how he explained WHY he assaulted Gigi:

“While I consider Gigi Hadid beautiful, she and her friend Kendall Jenner have nothing to do with high fashion. By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram. You can call it a manifest or a protest. This is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine,” he adds.

Asked how he responds to allegations that his latest “stunt” amounts to nothing more than an assault on a woman, Sediuk responds, “Don’t be over-dramatic.”

[From THR]

So he assaulted a woman because he doesn’t think she belongs in the fashion industry. Got it. I don’t think much of the Instamodels either, but there’s a difference between “complaining on a blog about Kendall Jenner’s dead eyes” and “believing young models deserve to be assaulted in the name of ‘protest’.” This a—hole needs to be in jail.

    Why are people so gross?

    • CariBean says:

Somebody is going to really hurt this guy one day and it’ll be poetic justice.

      • Erinn says:

He’s lucky he hasn’t gotten shot.

On top of that – I think I’d be looking for additional – or better – security team employees if I were Gigi.

      • Kori says:

He’s got a better chance of not getting shot now that he’s banned from the US. He’s such a pig. Once you lay hands on someone it’s not a ‘protest’ (like this even was, it’s just a PR stunt) it’s assault. I really hope he ends up in jail. I wish that shot had broken his nose.

      • Snarky says:

Erinn–I know, right? They seemed to think that they were protecting Dudebro from her. Standing there passively while some idiot picked her up, and then grabbing her as she went after him.

    • kanyekardashian says:

By “people” you mean men, and it’s because of patriarchy.

  2. mazzie says:

Good for her. I hope she did him some serious damage.

    • Amelia says:

She’s got a good elbow on her, mad props to her for defending herself and not letting it go, the way she darted after him looked like she meant business.

And f*ck all the sexist morons saying she overreacted; she had *every* right to defend herself.

      • Shannon1972 says:

        +100000

      • doofus says:

yeah, I also liked how she started to go after him. apparently Gigi don’t play!

      • Ariadne says:

She definitely has the right to go after him; he attacked her first!

      • Betsy says:

People were saying she overreacted? Roll. Love that double standard! So if you get raped – and how was she to know what he wanted? – it’s your fault for being out after dark or having alcohol or having a male friend, but when someone literally attacks her from behind she’s supposed to what? Smile pretty for him?

      • Va Va Kaboom says:

In that video his hand is between her legs grabbing HIGH up her thigh. I’d like to ask all those morons their reaction if they were walking down a street in another country and a man ran up from behind and did that. They’d beat the hell out of him just to prove they aren’t gay or cucks or whatever horrid label they have today for men that realize they don’t have inherent rights to every women’s bodies.

    • Kristen820 says:

Agreed wholeheartedly, Mazzie! It really bothers me too that the video kept referring to Gigi’s assault as a prank. That was NOT A PRANK. I hate to wish ill on anyone, but I hope she hurt him.

      • Missy says:

I *hate* that people refer to him as a prankster. We should start calling him a sex criminal. Or sexual deviant. Or celebrity molestor.

    • doofus says:

yeah, that elbow-to-the-face made me like her a little bit.

    • Wurstbonbon says:

He was smiling when he let her go so I don’t think that she did much damage – to his face. The damage to his reputation is another topic. I hope that his face gets so much attention through this bullshit that people will immediately recognize him in the future and he’ll be unable to sneak upon anyone.
If I were her I would hit that “security” in the face for holding me back while going for that asshole.

    • Mrs. Odie says:

He should try that in a state with open carry laws. I am totally against guns and violence, not to mention Gigi Hadid, but the idea that a man can laughingly manhandle a young woman, pick her up like she’s an f-ing toy and call it a “prank” makes me take leave of my reason. I have daughters.

  3. Darkladi says:

Poor Gigi! Why isn’t this douchebag in jail?

  4. detritus says:

He is assaulting people. He can call it whatever he wants, but he’s assaulting them.

In the video Gigi starts to go after him once she gets him off. I almost wish she’d caught him.

    • uninspired username says:

Forreal. Let her eff him up some more.

      • PrincessMe says:

        And call it a prank.

      • Mieke says:

Yes, let her prank him a pranked nose, then prank him in the dingdongs. Just kidding, right? Oh no, wait, it’s a statement that our society should not reinforce this kind of youtube journalism and maybe get some real reporters to do their job.

    • minime says:

this idiot is so disgusting! At least she got a chance to elbow him! Shouldn’t he answer for this in jail? I don’t care who she is, you don’t do something like this to ANYONE!

    • INeedANap says:

Also — SCREW THE SECURITY GUY. He is completely ineffectual when she’s being assaulted but suddenly appears to block her once she tries to fight back?

This made me love Gigi. How many of us have been conditioned to not fight back?

  5. Megan says:

I’m so glad Gigi had the wherewithal to defend herself. That guy is a complete a-hole.

  6. Bex says:

I hate that this is being reported as a ‘prank’ by a ‘prankster’ or an ‘eager fan’ (TM Daily Mail). It’s assault and must’ve been so scary for Gigi.

    • the_blonde_one says:

I was just coming in to say something to that effect- things like this continue, in part, because of the wording in reporting of what happened. She was not ‘pranked’, she was assaulted. He is not a ‘jokester’, he is a predatory, serial assaulter.

    • Samtha says:

I can only imagine how terrifying it would be to have someone suddenly grab you and forcibly lift you off the ground like that.

It’s too bad she didn’t nail him in the groin, in addition to the elbow to the face!

    • Mrs. Odie says:

Right??? She was ASSAULTED. SCUMBAG. I hope he gets intractable scabies.

  7. Neners says:

This is completely disgusting. Walking through crowds like this is nerve-wracking enough, I’m sure, and then someone jumps out, grabs you from behind, pins your arms to your side, and lifts you off the ground? She was terrified and I would’ve been too! This guy is going to end up doing this mess to the wrong person in the wrong situation one day and getting got.

    • PrincessMe says:

      +1

    • Yolie C. says:

Exactly! My stomach literally churned when I saw this. How dare he just put his hands/arms all over her body and lift her off of the ground?? I don’t pay much attention to these two ladies but he went way too far. She must have been terrified.

    • Kitten says:

Seems like he specifically goes after women. Does he ever target men?
I’d love to see him try that sh*t on The Rock..

      • paranormalgirl says:

He stuck in face in Brad Pitt’s crotch and tried to kiss Will Smith. He’s an ass, plain and simple. He’s not a “prankster,” he’s a serial assaulter.

      • Marianne says:

He also stuck his face in Leo DiCaprio’s crotch.

  8. Amy Tennant says:

    I truly dislike this individual.

  9. Jess1632 says:

That’s a scary situation especially w the crowd of ppl you really have no idea who is doing what and then for someone to grab you-this just made me appreciate Gigi more for how she handled that situation

On another note that Prank on Britney by her son had me laughing the look on her face

  10. Lucy2 says:

I can’t believe he’s still doing this, and has the nerve to try to justify it. It is clearly assault , and I am so glad she fought back, but she should never be in a position where she has to.

    • Kitten says:

I can’t believe that there’s an audience for this sh*t. Like, WHO are these people that find assault funny?

  11. Betti says:

Am shocked that this guy is still free – he is a dangerous crazy individual. Anyone who pulls stunts like this for attention needs medical help in my opinion.

Maybe someone should ‘prank’ him and see how he feels.

  12. Shay says:

This made me like Gigi 1000x more. Good for her for immediately elbowing this douche in the face. I hope she broke his nose. I can’t even imagine how scary, in that moment, it would be to be grabbed and restrained from behind.
This guy can jump off a cliff.

  13. Jegede says:

It must have been terrifying. Especially after what happened to Christina Grimmie.

  14. Neverwintersand says:

I’m ukrainian and i can say, that i never heard of this douche before this post. What a disgrace to journalism he is 🙁

  15. Tw says:

Thank you! He is a serial assailant. The word “prankster” should not be used to describe this jerk. “Prank” implies the act is harmless. There is nothing harmless about invading someone’s personal space and affecting their sense of security.

  16. I Choose Me says:

That guy needs to go to jail. IDGAF what his opinion is. You don’t put your hands on people period. I’m glad she elbowed him in the face and wish she’d done worse.

    • Almondjoy says:

Exactly. Lock him up. I seriously can’t believe he freely able to do things like this.

    • QQ says:

Exactly, No Ambiguity!, i Need him to get not taken down but seriously CLOCKED by his next Victim, Shoes, heels, elbows, Fists, IDC IDC he’s skated too long on Actually Physically Assaulting people for attention

    • pinetree13 says:

…and why are we interviewing this criminal? Why are we treating this like anything other than a crime?

  17. Ninks says:

“Don’t be over dramatic.” How many times are women told that. ‘It was just a joke. It didn’t mean anything. I was just having fun.’ Ugh.

That most have been terrifying for her, and her sister. Even trying to get to her car through that crowd would be pretty daunting, and now every time she goes outside this is going to be playing on her mind. People give celebrities a hard time when they use bodyguards to keep fans away and don’t stop to sign autographs, but watching this video shows you why they do it. (Some of them are assholes, sure, but even assholes deserve the right to walk down the street or have dinner without being harassed.)

    • lucy2 says:

The assault was bad enough, but the “over dramatic” part makes me insane.
I am not a violent person, but I wish someone would knock this monster out.

    • Juliette says:

That kind of comment makes my blood boil. This comment coming from a man who I am assuming has never had to fear for their safety. For many women I know, myself included, assault and rape are a very real fear. Someone grabs you from behind and lifts you off the ground, it would be absolutely terrifying.

I often walk to transit alone in the very early hours in the dark & I am always on guard walking alone – particularly in my neighbourhood. Sad to say but it’s the world we live in and for him to think this kind of thing is a joke is beyond the pale.

I can’t wait until the tables are turned and he gets a taste of his own medicine. I personally would like to kick him in the cherries.

    • INeedANap says:

And when we are assaulted, it’s “why didn’t you say no” “why didn’t you fight back” “why did you encourage him”.

I’m getting the feeling they hate us.

  18. paddyjr says:

This a**-hole really needs to be arrested. No matter how you feel about Gigi or her ilk, NO ONE deserves to be grabbed just out of the blue. How scary to be suddenly grabbed and picked up by a complete stranger, not knowing if they’re trying to hurt or kidnap you. Glad she got an elbow in; I would fight like H*LL too.

  19. paolanqar says:

I wish she had knocked all his teeth off.
    Asshole.

  20. Almondjoy says:

Gross. I’m shocked he hasn’t gotten a beatdown seeing as how he has a record of not keeping his hands to himself.

  21. mrspanda says:

Gigi is my new hero! She singlehandedly fought him off, and then ran after him. The useless ”security guards” just looked on, and then held HER back from her counter attack. They should be fired, he should be convicted, she should get a medal 🙂

  22. Anon says:

She also had a stalker last year who was arrested right outside her apartment in SoHo. Can’t imagine the war she had when this douche decided to put his hands on her and all she thought was that this jerk could hurt her. This is why I don’t understand when people (even some commenters on this blog) who give celebrities a hard time when they have security around them or don’t want to stop for autographs/pictures. Nowadays, you just don’t know what kind of psycho “fan” will be at an event and what they could do.

  23. Skins says:

Saw her working out on the heavy bag and she is not one to mess with. Probably would have taken her about 5 seconds to lay that scumbag out. Too bad she didn’t get the chance

    • Cinderella says:

Gigi would have beat his a$$. The security guards should have let her go.

He is going to do this to the wrong person one day and won’t be around to talk about it.

  24. serena says:

So that’s a manifesto? That’s just a f*ing assault to me. I think her guards were kind of surprised, maybe thinking he was a friend of hers -then noticing to late by her reaction he wasn’t.

  25. L84Tea says:

Don’t be over dramatic? Really? I would’ve torn that dude’s nuts off. That was straight up assault.

  26. Lucy says:

I saw a video and some pictures and it was horrible. Good for her for defending herself and then cursing the sh*t out of him. Bella was walking right next to her and (of course) seem completely taken aback by it, and still tried helping her. I hope Gigi’s okay.

  27. PaschaP says:

    “Don’t be over-dramatic.”

Gas-lighting 101. What an utter asshole.

  28. Ji-yun says:

The man is a repeat sex offender, imo, not a prankster.

  29. NeoCleo says:

I’ve been thinking of her as “dead-eye Hadid” for one reason but after seeing the video of her giving him a shot to the head with her elbow I think the title really is well-deserved.

The man should be prosecuted for this BS.

  30. Josefina says:

That is about the most pathetic excuse I could think of. Assault as a form of protest over the blandness of fashion models. He might as well have simply said he was possessed.

    • Ankhel says:

He’s a sicko who consistently goes after the biggest celebrities. Why? Because scaring and humiliating their kind gives him publicity and a sense of power. His explanations are just made up excuses!

      Also, you go Hadid 👍

  31. Jezza says:

What a psycho creep!!! Wish she got some more hits in. Disgusting how he felt this was OK to do.

  32. Thaisajs says:

Good for her. I wish she could have hit him harder. Also, how sad that her sister did more to try to help her than the body guards? Bella may have the blankest stare I’ve ever seen but good on her for having her sister’s back.

    • Mean Hannah says:

I feel like a jerk for noticing this in this way, as everyone reacts to fear/stress differently, but I was actually surprised at how not helpful her sister was. All she did was hold on to her sister’s hand and in the video, you can see that Gigi needed to free her hand from Bella’s grip first so she could fight back and elbow him. If this happened to my sister, I would be kicking and punching that dude.

      • LoveIsBlynd says:

Only martial arts training can somewhat help a person to react defensively and effectively when in a “situation”. The girl’s sister was irritating me when she “held her hand” uh duh, but then again she’s probably not had any training.

  33. Pants says:

I loved that she elbowed him right in the face. It’s the least he deserves.

  34. Abbess Tansy says:

This is disgusting!! Did anyone notice that when this a**hole picked her up, he put his left hand on the inside of her thigh close to her vagina. To me this is assault and he needs his perverted behind in jail.

  35. KiddVicious says:

Is that a cat butt on her sweater?

That was a good elbow to the face, and she started to run after him. I have a lot more respect for her as a person now.

Now, how do I get a cat butt sweater?

  36. Lolo says:

I’m also Ukrainian and I’ve never heard of this guy before he started assaulting celebrities. He must be some rich weirdo who does such awful stuff for fun. I also very much doubt he lives or even ever lived in Ukraine.

  37. Zuzus Girl says:

She had great instincts to protect herself. That guy is going to get himself killed one day.

    • Tiffany :) says:

One of the things I learned from Alias: even if you aren’t the strongest person, elbows are the hardest part of your body and your thighs are the strongest muscle. Use them to your advantage.

  38. moon says:

“By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram.”

I don’t support assault or his tactics, but can we talk more about this? Because he has a point. Gigi and Kendall are awful bland models who shouldn’t be hogging all this work.

    • Jordan says:

Lots of people said this, he’s hardly the first to complain about nepotism or insta models. This guy also attacks actors so I don’t even believe hes on some crusade to change the modelling industry. More like a need to get attention anyway he can.

      • moon says:

I don’t condone his actions. Yes it’s been discussed, but I’m curious as to why these girls continue to soak up opportunities and attention. Who are their followers? Why are they so popular when they have the looks and personalities of wallpaper? Who are the people aspiring to be like them? What does it say about our culture that worship of Bland has become the standard?

    • Pinta says:

@moon, no, this is not the time and place to discuss this. A woman was sexually assaulted. The sex offender said he committed the sexual assault because “reasons” and his feelings. I am not going to be deterred from expressing outrage about a sexual assault, so that I can give time and attention to a predatory white male’s thoughts and feelings and debate whether or not he has a point. There are plenty of times and places to discuss the insta models such as countless other posts in the past days months weeks and years.

      • brincalhona says:

Exactly. Nor was this a protest.

      • moon says:

I never said you couldn’t express outrage. I don’t agree that we can’t discuss his point just because of his actions. While everyone is waxing outrage, I find it amusing that he actually made a valid point this time. Also to call this sexual assault is a bit much – I know people who have been sexually assaulted. Let’s not trivialize the word. This looks like harassment to me.

      • SillbyBee says:

Moon- as a sexual assault SURVIVOR (not just a “I know someone (who knows someone”), this can certainly be considered sexual assault. This isn’t just “harassment” he is grabbing her and physically picking her up off the ground without her consent.

Don’t tell me what is or what is not sexual assault when you have no direct experience with it.

    • SillbyBee says:

How about we not talk about this on a thread where a rando dude with an agenda assaults a woman.

      Have some taste and class.

      • moon says:

Hi Sillybee, I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to go through the experiences that you did. However I don’t think that gives you the right to dismiss my opinion – I would not claim something as serious as sexual assault frivolously. I DO know more than one person (and no, not in a fake third degree way) who has been the victim of sexual assault. While I have been very lucky to not have been sexually assaulted, I was physically assaulted in my previous relationship. So no, I can understand that you disagree with my opinion but to insinuate that I am a liar when you don’t know otherwise is just rude.

      • Pinta says:

Shoving your hand between a strange woman’s legs from behind, grazing her butt and crotch to grab onto her upper thigh, with the rest of your arm between her legs, is unquestionably sexual assault. Don’t think so? That’s okay because a jury should decide anyhow. Wouldn’t you agree?

      • paranormalgirl says:

Oh, it’s sexual assault. Make no mistake about it. And these girls get work because people hire them. Why should they turn the work down? Would you?

      • Llamas says:

He also went down on Pitt’s crotch and tried to make out with Will smith. This guy like assaulting people in a sexual fashion.

      • Moon says:

I wouldn’t turn the work down. I’m curious as to why they’re being hired in the first place.

    • SKF says:

Le sigh. This was assault with a bullsh*t excuse and you want to discuss the excuse?

All right, beauty is subjective. Personally I find Gigi and Bella stunning and arresting with incredible bodies. I like that they are breaking the increasingly skeletal trend that was happening with models. Their mother was a model, they have the genetics, it’s not that surprising. They have appeal to brands because they have a built-in following and thus expand the reach of the brand. Simple marketing. I don’t like Kendall as a model but I still understand why she is successful. Models are part of marketing and if you have more marketing power you will get hired more. Very simple.

Now can we get back to the assault and the problems in our society when an assault is shrugged off as a prank?

  39. Jordan says:

What a creepy ass. I love her for the way she defended herself.

  40. Robin says:

That was assault and battery. Excellent reaction by Gigi, too bad her “security guards” didn’t do jack. That asshole should be in jail.

  41. Pinta says:

He shoved his left hand between her legs/crotch from behind and grabbed her thigh. In the photo. That is sexual assault. He needs to do jail time.

  42. Michelle says:

Oh hell no!! If someone grabs me from behind, the beat down would be on. This piece of trash is going to get what’s coming to him one of these days and I hope a camera is around to record it in all its splendor!

  43. Frey says:

I really have no love for these instamodels, but I am really glad she got him in the face.

  44. elleFL says:

I was blown away nobody tried to stop the assault.

Nobody deserves that and I think it’s terrible Gigi had to endure it. I’m no fan of hers but she’s a human being that doesn’t deserve that ambush like any other human being.

Confused why she didn’t have a bodyguard or something – she is famous enough where personal security makes sense.

  45. SillbyBee says:

This guy is foul. This has nothing to do with his bullshit manifestos he spews. This is a male taking advantage of a situation (and, yes I mean the “pranks” on Pitt and Smith, too) because pure arrogance encourages it. This is a sick attempt for 1. attention, 2. take advantage of vulnerable people.

    GROSS.

  46. KiddVicious says:

I don’t think this can be called sexual assault. From the way he grabbed her it looks like he’s trying to flip her over, not grab her crotch. Definitely assault and battery on his part.

And “got your ass handed to you” on her part.

    • Pinta says:

What about when he stuck his face in Brad Pitt’s crotch? Was that sexual assault? When he tried to stick his head under America Ferrara’s dress? Sexual assault is a pattern with this man and he gets away with it by calling it pranks. Now he has reached between a woman’s legs to grab her thigh and can say there’s nothing sexual about that because his real intention was just to perform plain old regular assault on her? Is it not sexual assault if he sticks his head under America’s dress if he claims he was just trying call attention to endangered wombats or something like that? Sorry, I’m just bothered that this man is apparently quite able to explain away is that would’ve gotten an man of color thrown on the sex offender list ages ago.

      • Kitten says:

Oh so he’s an equal-opportunity assaulter huh?
I asked up-thread if he went after men as well..hadn’t heard about the Brad Pitt incident. What a vile excuse for a human being.

And agree with all your points on this thread, Pinta.

      • KiddVicious says:

I wasn’t commenting on his other assaults, I was commenting on what I saw in this video.

  47. Lauraeparis says:

What angers me the most about this is the way the media is handling by implying that Gigi was the one who was the aggressor! “Gigi Assaults a fan” kind of thing! Why? Because she knew what to do? Because as a woman and she is not supposed to defend herself and wait to be saved by some knight-in-shining armor? I’ve been way too upset since I saw this. Upset enough to comment here that’s for sure for the first time!

  48. dandelion says:

As a non-EU national myself, wouldn’t he need visas to freely travel outside Ukraine? Who keeps issuing him those? Countries can just deny him entry like they did with Daryush Valizadeh

  49. Izzy says:

    I am so sorry.

That she didn’t have pepper spray to use on him.

  50. Marianne says:

I sincerely hope Gigi presses charges.

And I also Im disturbed by some sites (not this one) that was condemning her for elbowing him. Like really, for all she knew this guy was going to try and kidnap her. Of course she should have fought back.

  51. J.Mo says:

What struck me is how friendly she is to fans, letting them take selfies. I hope her and her sister carry pepper spray from now on and are prepared to use it so they can continue to interact as they seem to.

  52. Char says:

While I don’t normally care for the Kardashians, the video of this guy practically tackled Kim in Paris makes me upset. I can’t find the exact video again right now, but in the original clip I saw, you can tell she is terrified & she is calling for Kayne. Luckily her body guards were quick on their feet & caught her, or else he would have full blown knocked her over. It makes me happy to see Gigi elbow him, although I don’t think she even really made contact with the way her sister is holding her hand. Someone is going to make contact one day, then he’ll probably try to sue them. 🙄

She did a good job defending herself. First, she elbowed him in the face and then she tried to take off after him to beat him some more. Her bodyguard should not have held her back. I think he deserved a good ass kicking by a model!

I wish he would try this with Tom Hardy.

Oh yeah totally. This is just a continued display of a man trying to change the face of shallow fashion, celebrity favouritism and modern consumerism. Nothing at all about a lone wolf given continued access to carry out his personal venturistic ambitions through physical and verbal abuse in high profile media spotlight.
