DJ Khaled actually did Snapchat his son’s birth as promised

DJ Khaled and fiancĂ©e Nicole Tuck welcomed their son, Asahd Tuck Khaled, on Sunday. And just as he announced on Jimmy Kimmel when he appeared back in June, DJK actual did post the entire thing to Snapchat. Joining the soon-to-be parents in the delivery rooms were the doctors, various family members like DJK’s mother and brother Kiko and, apparently, his four million followers. True to his brand, the Snapchat King littered the Snaps with his signature emojis and effusive language. Nothing went unrecorded, either: everything from contractions to the cervix dilation checks made it online.

He’s here! DJ Khaled and his fiancĂ©e, Nicole Tuck, welcomed their first child, a boy, in the early hours of Sunday, October 23.

“DJ Khaled confirms, DJ Khaled and Nicole Tuck welcome their son, a beautiful, healthy young icon, Asahd Tuck Khaled, born at 2:05 a.m., 7 lbs 14 oz., and 21.5 inches long, on October 23rd, 2016,” his rep tells Us Weekly exclusively. “The meaning of Asahd is Lion in Arabic.”

The producer and recording artist Snapchatted on Saturday, October 22, that their son was on his way, sharing a video of Tuck in the hospital with a hand on her belly. “Dr. my son want to see me,” he captioned the clip as he said, “Doctor, it’s go time, right?”

“The water broke, so now it’s a time thing,” he could be heard saying in another video as several excited friends and family members could be seen waiting outside the delivery room.

You can see many grabs of his Snapchats at The Daily Mail as well as some of the transcripts of his Chats. I am leaving out some of the more ‘intimate’ ones because OMG I delivered enough babies, I don’t need to go back there. I barely know who DJK is – and I don’t know Nicole at all – but honestly, he is so freaking lucky. I don’t care what was agreed to ahead of time, when you’re in the middle of a hard-labor contraction you’re already looking for something to kill. I would think the person with a camera phone, talking to fans would be the first to go.

Don’t worry about DJK though, he blasted his album Major Key, throughout the birth to calm his nerves, because God forbid he be uncomfortable while his fiancĂ© is shoving a seven-pound child out of her. Since there are no reports of DJK standing outside the hospital with a sign around his neck reading, ‘I will not broadcast my fiancĂ©e in labor to the world anymore,’ I assume Nicole was okay with it. Although, when Kimmel asked if she was amenable to the idea in June, DJK’s response was, “The key is that I’m the king and every queen should support the king.” Hopefully the glow of new-fatherdom will erase some of that primitive ideology from his head.

I followed his snapchat – he’s annoying , one dimensional and boring. Unfollowed.

  3. Melly says:

I think it’s cute that he wanted to document the birth of his son. Personally, I think him & his wife agreed on doing this and it wasn’t something she was forced to do. Got to keep the money coming in!

  4. Shijel says:

“Queen should support the k—” yeah, no, not in this case, unless ‘king’ is cool beans with his queen snapchatting his prostate exam.

Give’n’take, king. I’m sure Nicole was fine with it, but this mindset f-cks me up.

  5. Manga says:

Jesus Christ – if this is considered ‘normal’ these days people need to be locked in a room with William Burroughs until they snap the hell out of it.

  6. HappyMom says:

Oh my god. The only people I wanted in the room were my husband and the medical staff. I couldn’t believe the number of my friends who had other friends, their parents, in-laws in the delivery room with them. I cannot imagine sharing those moments with an audience! I guess I’m more private. But really-is NOTHING sacred anymore?
