Ivanka Trump is already using the presidency to hawk her jewelry collection

You know how we always joked that Sarah Palin and her family were nothing more than Wasilla grifters? Like, the Palins were always looking for easy money, ethics be damned. Well, the Palin escapades will seem almost quaint when all is said and done about the Trump family. We’re only one week into Donald Trump’s transition, and there are already about a million ethical quagmires, from the blind trust (which isn’t really a blind trust), to Trump’s desire to have his kids work for him in the White House and yet somehow still run his business. Speaking of Trump’s kids, they’re already looking for new ways to grift. His adult kids joined him for his 60 Minutes interview following the election, and soon after CBS aired the interview, Ivanka was hawking the gold bracelet that she wore on-camera.

To those of you who don’t see any issue with this… just imagine it was Hillary Clinton and get back to me. Let me be clear on one thing too: there is a difference between having one’s staff identify the brand one is wearing, just for clarity’s sake, versus using a political appearance to actually turn a profit. Like, the Duchess of Cambridge’s staff regularly IDs her clothing to the press, but Kate and the staffers don’t get a cut of the sales of that clothing, nor do they provide handy links to where you too can buy it. This Ivanka situation is like having a first family sponsored by Nike, and every time the president did a press conference, he wore his Nike swoop hat and got a cut of Nike’s profits. It’s unethical and tacky.

Also: this is not even the first time Ivanka has done this. She wore a dress from her own Ivanka Trump Collection to the RNC, and she actively hawked the same dress on her social media. Again, if you don’t have a problem with that, think about how you would feel if Michelle Obama did it. If Michelle used her position to profit from a clothing line (a line not even made in America!!!!) which she then hawked on her FLOTUS social media. The GOP would have called in a special session to “impeach” the First Lady, that’s what would have happened.

    I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you !

    • B says:

Are we kidding here? Chelsea Clinton lives in a $10m apartment funded by donations to the Clinton “foundation” and you guys are freaking out about a bracelet??

      • Squiggisbig says:

Really?!?!? Well nothing to see here then folks….

      • doofus says:

        proof?…

or just what Alex Jones told you?

      • delorb says:

False equivalency. Chelsea isn’t hawking a bracelet from her appearances with her father. I get the impression that everything will be for sale with these people. Do you know that he has money in the controversial pipeline? Oh, I wonder which side he’s going to take with his executive orders? In his first appearance with President Obama, he looked lost. But a few days later he looked like he’d figured out his angle. He and his family are going to look at this as a business opportunity. Not helping people or leading the country, but an opportunity to stuff their pockets. An apartment worth 10 million is small change compared to what’s conming. Con-ming! Get it?

      • bleu_moon says:

If you’re gonna quote the right wing rumor mill you should quote the whole conspiracy. You know, the part about Chelsea’s apartment being a secret hospital and sharing an address with a healthcare organization. All the better to treat Hillary’s alleged “health problems.”

And hawking the bracelet? Tacky, tacky, tacky….

      • Jodi says:

Let me guess. That statement came from Faux News, Breitbart, right?

      • Eener says:

If that pisses you off soooo much then I am sure this infuriates you too. No? The. That means you are the problem in this country. Goodbye!

      • AngelaH says:

        @B, nope, we aren’t kidding.

I see you have no problem spreading lies.

        Please stop with the lies.

      • cakecakecake says:

Spare me, driveling, insufferable chick all wrapped up in fake class and fake “women power” crap…so she can tout and shill all of her crap.

      • hmmm says:

Take your propaganda elsewhere, like Breitbart.

      • MFM008 says:

        you are an idiot.

    • midigo says:

Really. Just wait and see in how many creative ways they will be able to make profit out of – only to make an example – the relationship with Russia. Trump style is very close to Russian taste. We will see Trump Towers, Trump Casinos and Ivanka’s boutiques in Moscow. Trump-style resorts, cruise ships, ….

  2. Good God. I’m afraid to wake up every morning now.

    • embertine says:

Has anyone else in the past week had to brace themselves when they cheque their phones first thing? Like, OK fresh hell device, what do you have for me today?

      • Shambles says:

Lol. Fresh hell device. It’s so true. I get the NYT’s Morning Briefing via email, and your assessment is quite accurate.

Today’s news: it’s only been a week, The man has not even been inaugurated yet, and his administration is an absolute shit show. No one actually wants to work for him, everyone is fighting within the camp, and if it didn’t directly affect the future of our country it would be hilarious.

I’m just like… HELLO electoral college, can you see what a damn mess this is after a mere 7 days? Can you see that the only logical and ethical thing to do is vote Hillary? Use your antiquated power for good for once. December 19th. I have hope. Might be ridiculous, but I have it.

      • Bre says:

YES! I’ve become addicted to the news again like I did after 9/11.

      • bros says:

totally. the size of my reading universe has completely shrunk. I used to check huffpo 3-4 times a day, now I only can handle once, and I quickly scan the headlines, feel sick, and then click to some other mindless site (like this one, not that it’s mindless, on the contrary! but something where I don’t feel stressed) like tom and lorenzo or Dlisted or anything that won’t give me a ‘what in the actual F%CK’ headline. it’s very very few sites now.

      • Miranda says:

Yes! I’ve had BBC News as my homepage for 10 years, but I finally switched it to Google because I was sick of seeing his stupid face (with his mouth that looks like a tiny…little…butthole.)

      • Scotchy says:

Yes!! I can barely handle the news, I haven’t eaten or slept properly in a week… siiggh.. it’s good to know I am not alone..

      • Tiffany :) says:

I’m checking my phone much less. Facebook, the news, it is all just too much negativity right now. I feel like eventually there will be something REALLY awful to rage against, and I have been trying to store my energy to use it when it really will help.

      • Janetdr says:

That’s why I come here first. Seriously, it makes it so I can sneak up on the news.

      • BooBooLaRue says:

        this

      • M.A.F. says:

My home page on my work computer is CNN and every day I think I’ve let out a tiny scream when I see the headlines.

    • littlemissnaughty says:

It’s so tiring already and we’re not even 10 days in. I’m going to need so many naps.

  3. aquarius64 says:

Ivanka the Terrible is already getting backlash for this stunt. This family is the Borgias on steroids.

    • PunkyMomma says:

That’s a brilliant, spot-on description of the Trumps.

    • wendy woo says:

YES!!! The BORGIAS!!! You are so right. So depressingly right…

    • Redgrl says:

Borgias on steroids! Awesome! I also like Orange Caligula for Trump himself…

      • Macscore says:

A small point of difference, regarding the comparison with Caligula: “In the first six months of his reign, Caligula behaved with remarkable restraint and modesty.” (A.A. Barrett, “Caligula: The Corruption of Power” Yale Univ. Press 1989, p. 43)
        … but then….
“Cruelty and incompetence may be unattractive traits of a despot, by they do not themselves prove mental instability. A claim to divinity however, seems inseparable from madness.” (ibid., p. 140).
        Oh, wait. You’re right.

      • Mary Mary says:

The rising orange dust up of Cheeto Benito

      • Alie says:

Gah! I don’t even want to insult Caligula by comparing him to this mini-tomato fingered rotten potato coloured hideously dressed giant garden gnome. At least Caligula had the decency to look sane in public BEFORE he became emperor.

    • Frida_K says:

Well, at least the Borgias were interesting…and they inspired thoughtful and thought-provoking writings like Niccolò Machiavelli’s Il Principe (The Prince), which stands to this day.

The Orange Caligula and his Children of the Corn, on the other hand, are Walmart Borgias. With that I cannot argue.

    • Scout says:

I really need “Ivanka the Terrible” to catch on.

    • Betsy says:

I’ve just thought of them as trash. The Borgias seemed organized, ruthless in their pursuit of power and money. These dopes just want the money.

    • TotallyBiased says:

      Walmart Borgias!
      That is IT!!!

  4. #notmypresident says:

    I hate this family.

  5. SusanneToo says:

Someone needs to let donald know that a nuclear disaster would result in fewer people to buy the crappy trump products and that will ensure the greatest detente we’ve ever had.

  6. wood dragon says:

That whole family just makes me freakin’ ill. And the GOP is fine with it because now they have all the power in the world to do whatever the hell they want. Brace yourselves. These next four years are going to be rough.

    • Nico says:

The professor that predicted the trump presidency said he feels trump will get impeached. So maybe only two years of hell.

      • Scarlet Vixen says:

@Nico: But then we would get Pence, who is even more frightening in many ways.

      • Merritt says:

        @Scarlet Vixen

Trump will give all the work to Pence and other creeps anyway. Trump never planned on being anything other than a figurehead.

      • Bre says:

Yes, we would get Pence but I think if Trump was impeached the outrage at the GOP would be such that Pence couldn’t really do anything too controversial.

      • Pandy says:

Can’t happen soon enough. And as another poster said, Pence will be doing all the work anyway. Donald will be too busy lining his pockets to govern. What a joke. I feel sorry for Americans having he and the family degrade the office like that. And god knows what irrevocable damage he will do. Mostly to the environment. I’m scared for that reason especially.

      • Giddy says:

Trump wants to be a New York based, golfing president. Real work, political, domestic, or diplomatic, is not what he wants. He’ll love the inauguration, the balls etc., he’ll love all the attention. But the actual work, that he is completely unprepared for, will bore and exhaust him. To use one of his favorite words, he is already a disaster, and much more to come.

      • gwen says:

        Two years too damn much.

      • The Recluse says:

This scenario is possible: The Republicans impeach and remove him from power, call it a little bloodless coup, if you will, for whatever reason: his erratic behaviour, his and his children’s threat to our national security, conflict of interest, contacts, anything and everything they can use and make stick – and all so they can have President Pence, who is also a nightmare, and Paul Ryan as the replacement VP. We’re in for a rough ride no matter what.
Makes me just want to spit.

    • Tiffany :) says:

I heard Paul Ryan discussing the “Unified Republican Government” that is going to be in power in January, and it chilled my soul. Trump as President is one thing, but to also have the House and Senate is too much. I am terrified.

  7. Tate says:

I wonder if Trump family dinners now include some good ole belly laughs at the suckers that voted for The Donald. 😷

    • SusanneToo says:

Let me just repost my comment from yesterday:
“They talk about money, slaughtering endangered animals, ivanka’s breasts, how stupid the gullibles are – just normal trump family talk.”

  8. Caitlinsmom says:

They are classless, tacky grifters with zero ethics or scruples.

  9. Nicole says:

At this point we will be watching the full destruction of America, its values, the prestige of the Presidency, etc. everything that’s come out in the last week has just been ridiculous. From the conflicts of interest to hiring a white surpremicist and Islamohobic idiot to his staff to his staff not knowing what the heck a president does.

    It truly is the end

  10. MostlyMegan says:

    Rich white trash.

  11. BearcatLawyer says:

They are in for a rude awakening if Trump gets inaugurated. Conflicts of interest and ethical violations are two things that Congress and the FBI cannot ignore.

    • Izzy says:

Sure they can. Now. Congress is GOP-controlled, they won’t care.

      • BearcatLawyer says:

But not all of those GOP members are aligned with Trump, and some of them will undoubtedly side with Democrats on ethical issues involving members of Trump’s family- especially if it means saving their own skins in the midterms.

      • Luca76 says:

Oh please almost none of Congress stood up to Trump. Paul Ryan and John McCain did somersaults to keep endorsing him while maintaining some kind of false moral high ground. They’ll do their best to push as much of their batsh*t right wing agenda which they don’t in fact have a mandate for through and will keep their mouths shut unless he literally burns down the White House.

      • LittlestRoman says:

Luca76, at this point I’m convinced that most Repubs would be roasting marshmallows over the smoking ruins. Frankly, they seem gleefully willing to eviscerate the Constitution and reverse all social progress made since 1964. Those who voted for Trump must have either not lived through the 1980s or suffer from memory loss, because we’ve tried this ‘trickle down’ thing before and *spoiler alert* it didn’t turn out so well.

      • ol cranky says:

they will use this to either impeach Trump or encourage him to resign within the first year (probably the latter and with a cover story to help the GOP save face – the encouragement to resign will be threatening the kids with criminal charges/jail time for any grifting they do). They will, of course, wait until he is in for at least a few months so Pence can “credibly” ascend to the Presidency.

      • Scout says:

The GOP got everything they wanted, do be fooled. The RNC chair is his Chief of Staff. They’ll feign outrage but still gleefully carry out their agenda behind the scenes.

      • Tiffany :) says:

“But not all of those GOP members are aligned with Trump”

True, but Trump is openly vengeful. It will take a lot of courage to go against him with all of the power that he will have come January.

    • Lady D says:

The FBI made it very clear who’s pocket they are in.

  12. curious says:

    Is it made in China?

  13. swak says:

I keep saying that the reason Trump wants to live in NYC and commute to DC is to be able to run his businesses with little scrutiny. Why is it they can’t realize his job is now POTUS and not business tycoon? Probably another reason he’s not taking the salary (and I’ll believe that when I see the receipts on it) – gives him an excuse to have to be paid by his business interests – he needs a salary of some type. Also another reason not to have any of his children involved in his presidency.

    • lightpurple says:

Because he never bothered to read the job description. Also, I didn’t hear him say he wasn’t accepting the health coverage. And will the $400,000 salary be going back to the general fund or will it just be designated elsewhere. We had that issue here in MA with Romney who claimed he didn’t take a salary, but he took the health insurance and the salary did not go back into the general fund but was instead used to hire his cronies.

  14. Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I was reading about her husband this morning and the fact that a) he got the man who put his criminal father in jail (where he belongs) fired and b) seems to think that running a country is going to be like running a business. Its not!!

The next 4 years will be this family fleecing the tax payers to line their pockets, taking back handers to give their ‘friends’ contracts and making dodgy deals with Putin.

    • SusanneToo says:

Everytime his spawn use the family jet to travel on “government business” trump will be paid for the use of the plane. We will be charged for the SS travelling with them.

    • AngelaH says:

I’m in a state where the governor got elected because he would run it like a business.

      It did not go well.

      Flint, MI for all!

At least Nestle will have stolen enough of our drinking water that their profits will be unbelievable.

    • Locke Lamora says:

Her husband was also a poor student who got into Harvard because his daddy made a huge donation. These people are the definition of nepotism yet they got elected as “men of the people”. Yuck.

  15. Vivivoom says:

I mean, turning everything into a profit is basically America in a nutshell. This is who we are, I don’t understand the surprise.

And anyone who expects ethics from politicians is stupid.

    • cd3 says:

I have to agree with you. America is the face of capitalism.
Also, Ivanka isn’t a publicly elected politician nor has she been appointed to any official post. Yes, she’s opportunistic but she is a business woman after all.

      • hmmm says:

Awww, I bet you guys voted for Drumpf. Takes one to know one I guess.

      • Vivivoom says:

I didn’t. I’m just not surprised by this. I’m not naive enough to expect decency from a politician. And I’m not naive enough to have expected more from America.

  16. Chrissy says:

BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! These people have no scruples and I really think Ivanka is the worst of the kids. The boys are creepy and racist as heck but she is the resident snake-in-the-grass behind the Every Woman veneer. Everything’s for sale all the time with these sickos. How can people not see these people for who they are? The Ultimate Grifters are in the White House. SMDH
    I’m afraid for you America.

    • Fl girl says:

I won’t have any trouble boycotting her $10,800 bangle. I also won’t have any trouble boycotting anything else anyone in that family does / makes / sells. But especially not that bangle.

      • hmmm says:

Boycott should be easy. We have been classically conditioned to be revolted by the Trump name. When the article makes you nauseous and filled with dread , you won’t buy.

  17. Cannibell says:

Maybe he’ll reverse history and move the capitol back to New York…..

  18. leigh says:

I’m boycotting them and any business that supports them.

    • Mayram6 says:

I dont think they will care.

      • bleu_moon says:

Trump may not, but Papa Johns, Yuengling, Coors, NASCAR, Pep Boys and KOCH industries (Angelsoft, Dixie, Mardi Gras, Brawny, Vanity Fair napkins) might.

      • SusanneToo says:

        Add Home Depot and Chic-Fila

      • AngelaH says:

        Don’t forget Hobby Lobby.

      • bleu_moon says:

I know Yuengling Ice Cream is made by a family member of the brewer company. Are they Trump supporters too? Because OMG my kids and I love their Black and Tan ice cream. It’s expensive so we get it as a Friday night treat ($7.99 for a half gallon-ish size). We’ll miss it, but will give it up for good if we find out they’re Trump supporters.

    • Macscore says:

Of course, boycotting ALL of these businesses is a place to start.

However: before and during WWII, a number of businesses who supported (understatement) Hitler and his regime may have experienced short-term downturns (to say the least) after the war was over, but they nevertheless nefariously managed to stash away capital, and ultimately came back roaring – Krupps, anyone?

I don’t think boycotting will be enough.

      • bleu_moon says:

In recent years it’s worked with Barilla pasta. They faced an enormous backlash after their chairman said he preferred “traditional” families and that gays could go eat someone else’s pasta. Lots of people boycotted Barilla after that- including me. Within a year they had gone from “worst” on gay rights to “first” according to one gay rights advocacy group. They added healthcare benefits for transgendered partners, contributed to gay causes, used a same sex couple in advertising, etc.

It may not close businesses down, but it can make them reconsider their policies (or 2020 campaign donations) when they feel the pinch.

  19. Izzy says:

This is going to be the tackiest presidency ever.

  20. RussianBlueCat says:

I swear this would make a great tv sitcom. Unfortunately this is really happening. I am surprised no one in the family has suggested painting the White House gold

    • HappyMom says:

They can’t even get staff. Wait until they’re in there-god only knows what they’ll do to the White House.

      • CL says:

Hell, apparently they didn’t know that they’d need staff until last week!
Trump’s people thought the west wing staff stayed.

      • Lady D says:

Sorry and please don’t compare me to Trump, but had I thought about it, I would have assumed that WH staff were just that. The boss changed, but the staff stayed the same.
I knew the Obama’s had to get their own chef, but I didn’t know they had to hire all new staff. I imagine there is a lot of repeat staff though, right?

      • gwen says:

        @Lady D.
All of Obama’s staff leaves when he does. Donald has to hire 4,000 to replace them.

      • AngelaH says:

        @Lady D.

But I believe (correct me if I’m wrong), that if you were running for president, you would have done some kind of preparation. Like Googled “what does the president do” or “What happens if I get elected as President.”

I didn’t know it either and hadn’t really thought about it. However, I have never even considered running for President so I have that excuse.

      • Lady D says:

Four freaking thousand? Four? I’m legit gobsmacked. What on earth do 4,000 people do for the White House? It’s just not that big. Does staff include everyone who works for the SS or the FBI? Are you sure it’s 4,000?

      • Fl girl says:

They should have watched a couple of episodes of West Wing.

      • Rose says:

Just to be clear, just the West Wing staff changes. The mansion’s staff stays. Many of these people have been there for decades through different administrations.

  21. smd says:

Oh but her handlers explained this y’all! It was just an overzealous marketing executive making an honest mistake, again. Calm down. No, I won’t because it is a blatant conflict of interest and use of your father’s political position to hawk goods for your bottom line. This is the 2nd blatant time it happened and at this point it shouldn’t be. You keep saying what a great transition team your father has, B.S. Everyone should be getting morning, noon and night briefings at this point, getting your ish together and understand you all are now servants of the people not the other way around. Ugh, my bp is rising again….

    • Giddy says:

But wait! You too can own Ivanka’s lovely dress, her overpriced bracelet, her undies, her IUD.*

*available at all fine gynecologists everywhere

  22. Marty says:

This is what astounded me with the anti-Hilary voters, you think she’s corrupt? Look at the entire Trump lineage. They are a con family through and through. This time they’ll take an entire country down with them.

    • Snowflake says:

Yes! Every trump supporter I know says Hillary is a crook, what about Trump?! Hypocrites

    • LittlestRoman says:

Exactly. Because billionaire CEOs are known for their honesty. Also, the harping about Bill Clinton’s philandering. Once more for the folks in the back: He. Wasn’t. Running. For. President.

  23. SusanneToo says:

Just heard yesterday that only four of the five trump spawn will have SS protection. Oh, hi, there, Tiffany!

    • Canadian Becks says:

I need an explanation as to why adult, non-dependent relatives, who don’t reside with the POTUS needs SS protection.

      And that means 3 daughters/sons-in-law & 8 grandchildren, too?

That means expending funds to provide enough SS details to cover 15 non-essential people.

Is covering adult, non-residential offspring unprecedented?

      • SusanneToo says:

SS protection didn’t happen with any other president’s adult children to my knowledge. I’ve disliked many former prezes, but none of them were professional grifters, at least.

      • bleu_moon says:

I’m sure Ivanka already has private security. Shifting that over to the SS and tax payers will save the Trumps money.

    • swak says:

Can you tell me why they are getting SS protection? Really, the only one of the children who should be getting SS protection is Barron. Hope this isn’t really true.

    • Canadian Becks says:

If it’s unprecedented, then what is the justification for it in this instance?

Unless they will be co-habiting with the POTUS….?

    • M.A.F. says:

Funny, the news only mentioned his three adult children. And not once did they show a photo of Tiffany (who I keep forgetting about). Why does she get the cold shoulder (which is probably for the best)?

  24. lightpurple says:

    Lock her up!

  25. Who says says:

Could you imagine if Hillary won and Chelsea did the same thing, using her Mother to sell her own product line and her mother wanting to have her given high security clearance. The RNC and GOP would go crazy. Seems to be a lot of double standards, but the Trumps are just like us right?

  26. Chaine says:

    Grifters gonna grift.

  27. lisa says:

i know i am looking forward to my TOP SECURITY CLEARANCE rhinestone bracelet made in china, bringing jobs back to america since never

  28. Nibbi says:

    slime. trash. tacky. tasteless.

  29. Dani says:

Ivanka is known, way before her dad ran for president, to wear her own collection 80% of the time. Dailymail has sightings of her over a year ago wearing her own label. If she had worn an Hermes bracelet, that costs much more than that, would people have been satisfied? No. There are so many other things to worry about regarding Trump, that Ivanka wearing her own line is so irrelevant.

    • Luca76 says:

Don’t be purposely obtuse the problem isn’t what she’s wearing it’s that she’s sending out detailed press releases it hock her wears. It’s a blatant conflict of interest and while petty it’s a sign of bigger conflicts to come.

    • Frida_K says:

No it is not irrelevant. It is part and parcel of a larger picture. In addition, and as Kaiser pointed out, this is a case of using the office of the presidency to directly shill for her own personal profit.

There’s a great meme rolling around with a photograph of Saddam Hussein and his sons. I forget the exact comment but it is pithy and spot-on. Essentially, it’s Hussein saying that there’s nothing wrong with hiring your own children to be part of your political cabinet or some such.

A President should not be shilling for his company and nor should his children. This is not irrelevant because you say say is is so. It is, instead, most certainly relevant because it goes against precedence and common decency, as has so much else about Mr. Trump’s campaign.

Thanks, Frida. The obtuseness of the trumpites is truly shocking. They’re in for a very cold shower of reality soon.

    • Matomeda says:

I agree, Dani. And she’s not the one who was running or elected. She isn’t going to just abandon her businesses. Anything she does from here on will be criticized. She has to wear her stuff, make ads, etc. that’s her life- she isn’t him.

      • Luca76 says:

If she does it while performing duties in conjunction with the official duties of the presidency and while getting benefits like Secret Servicemen and possibly detailed reports of top secret security information she definitely deserves scrutiny and scorn for profiting in such a tacky way.

      • Macscore says:

@ Matomeda: Oh, c’mon….. !!!!! (*face palm*). How on earth could you be so obtuse? Ivanka and the entire clan are using every single opportunity they can get to make money out of their (certainly unexpected) position. Can you imagine what the Refugs would have said if, after a Pres. Debate appearance, Chelsea had suddenly appeared on the internet saying “And you can get her look *here*!”
But. It’s America. So it’s “all good,” right?
BTW the bracelet is a hideously tacky, cheap piece of s**t. Oh, did I say cheap? Let me look at the price tag again. $10,800. That’s right.
(I’m going with the European usage of commas and periods to designate decimal points, which makes this bracelet actually worth $10.80. That’s more like it!).

The irony is definitely not lost here.

can we talk about how she’s had so much (unnecessary) plastic surgery that from some angles she looks like a turtle?

  35. bleu_moon says:

Ivanka is the Billy Carter of the Trump administration. The tacky relative trying to make a buck.

    • Christin says:

      At least Billy was likable.

To quote him: “The press made me something I really wasn’t, and I tried to live up to what they made me.”

      • Christin says:

I just fell into a rabbit hole, refreshing myself on Billy’s shenanigans during his short life.

Did not realize one of my favorite election commentators (Van from CNN) is his son-in-law.

      • Giddy says:

My favorite quote was from Billy’s mother, Miss Lillian. “Sometimes I look at my children and I say to myself Lillian, you should have stayed a virgin.”

      • bleu_moon says:

I didn’t know Van was his SIL either.

True, Billy did seem buffoonish, but relatively harmless. Unlike Ivanka. I’m still going to think of Ivanka’s jewelry as her “Billy Beer” though. 😉

They are just the racist white supremacist – and yes PRESIDENT OF THE USA – version of the Kardashians, who have now beaten at their own trashy reality show game and all but vanished. This is what it took to make them go away. And now can we please have them back?

    • bleu_moon says:

Careful what you wish for. Trump will nominate one of them to a cabinet position. I mean, we’re probably getting Sarah Palin from our Reality TV Show President, so why not? Maybe Snooki too?

Ivanka is the most dangerous one, IMHO. She is her father’s favorite for a reason and her husband is Trump’s biggest enabler. It’s utter chaos in the transition team and he’s behind it. Chris Christie and his circle are the ones being “purged” and you can’t convince me that doesn’t have anything to do with his prosecution of Jared’s daddy. The conviction of Christie’s staffers is just a convenient coincidence, no one in the Trump circle has a moral compass and they certainly haven’t been bothered by the bridge scandal in the past.

I, personally, find the “Additional Companies” more important. IMO. I know many don’t want to boycott an entire store, just certain lines/vendors.

  42. Riley says:

I really don’t think that’s a fair comparison. HRC was the actual candidate and Michelle is FLOTUS. I can honestly say, it doesn’t bother me and more inportantly wouldn’t bother me if Chelsea did it, if HRC won. They are children of elected officials, not elected officials. I think there is a big difference. And Yes, I voted for Hilary.
