Lena Waithe covers the April issue of Vanity Fair. This is Radhika Jones’ first issue as editor in chief, and for her first cover choice, she chose a queer woman of color who happens to be a powerhouse writer, producer and actress. Well done! [Vanity Fair]

Okay, I have two things to say!
1: Great choice for your very first issue as EIC!! This is what we’re talking about when we say “representation matters”. Brava!
2: BILL SKARSGARD, AKA MY FAVORITE SKARSBRO, WILL BE IN DEADPOOL 2. I cannot deal.

  2. Chaine says:

Yes! Rehabilitating the name “Lena” for all of us! Love her.

  3. The New Classic says:

My big YAY! for the day is that after weeks of speculation, the Deadpool trailer proves that Bill Skarsgård is going to be in the movie. I can’t wait to see it!!

*off to find the April issue of Vanity Fair*

    This is GREAT !!!!!

And Annie seems to know when to get out her own way. This pic is awesome. The minimalist works because Lena is a stunning woman.

This is the second issue Ms. Jones has edited.
Her first was the Jennifer Lawrence issue.

L O N G time VF subscriber and even though Ms. Jones has only edited one issue (that I’ve read) the quality and range of articles is greatly improved.

Woo so great to see Lena thriving! She’s terrific on Master of None and the Thanksgiving episode which she helped write was quietly powerful, realistic, funny and very moving. My girlfriend and I watched it on our second date 🙂

Also, I totally get what Lainey’s saying about Chinese food (I’m Chinese American). I don’t consider any of that disgusting because these foods are part of my culture and I’m accustomed to it. It’s like how everyone hates durian but my family loves it lol

    • Argonaut says:

i thought i recognized her from somewhere! she’s one of my favorite characters on “master of none”

    • Lama Bean says:

The Thanksgiving episode on Master of None is exactly what turned me into a hardcore Lena fan. The Chi is an excellent show. I’m excited for what she comes with next.

    • ORIGINAL T.C. says:

I don’t watch sit-coms but I will check out the Thanksgiving episode. Thanks for the rec!

  11. Reef says:

Lena and her wife in VF just being fine and insightful.

  12. BooRadley says:

Liked her in Master of None. I want to be her now. Can this be the only Lena we talk about now?? 😉
