I have no idea if this is a genuine interview or some third-hand tabloid account in which these quotes are attributed to Angelina Jolie. I think it’s probably from a small interview Angelina may have given the British OK! Magazine, and now comes to us via My Fashion Life. The quotes sound like Angelina though – which is why I think this was at some point part of a legitimate interview. Angelina is talking about her fashion. In my opinion, Angelina’s fashion sense is at best okay and at worst, boring and a bit too old for her. I was sorely disappointed with many of the dresses Angelina wore during the awards season this year, because she seemed to be dressing in just an endless string of glittery sacks. Part of the reason I adored the tight black column dress she eventually wore to the Oscars was that it wasn’t baggy, ill-fitting, or old-lady-ish.
Angelina admits that she doesn’t put too much thought into her red carpet fashion, and that she has “three basic colors and I get the same shapes in different colors!” Yeah, Angie, we noticed. We also noticed that one of your colors is beige. You need to stop that – it washes you out:
The Oscar-winning beauty – who is often voted one of the world’s most glamorous women – doesn’t worry about what she’s going to wear to major events and usually sticks to a style she feels comfortable in.
She said: “I don’t think too much about what to wear on the red carpet. I usually have three basic colours and I get the same shapes in different colours!”
Although Angelina isn’t overly concerned with fashion, she admits she does like to put on glamorous outfits from time-to-time as it makes a change from her everyday clothes.
The ‘Wanted’ star – who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt – said: “I like to get dressed up and feel like a lady every once in a while.”
Despite giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne 11 months ago, Angelina has regained her super slim figure and credits it to running around after six children.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I feel great, albeit a little sleep deprived! I run around with all these kids so it’s pretty busy. But I feel great and I’m very happy that they’re healthy.”

Am I being too harsh on Angelina’s style? She’s never been, say, a Nicole Kidman. Meaning that I think Nicole really cares about fashion, and she uses the red carpet to create drama and buzz. Angelina doesn’t – I think she’s missing the “fashion diva” gene, bless her heart. While I don’t always care for Angelina’s red carpet style, I do like her “everyday” style. In her everyday life, she seems to favor great pants, pencil skirts, simple blouses, sweaters, and some of the best coats ever. In her everyday life, she usually looks comfortable and classic.

I agree, the only thing I really liked on her this year was the oscar outfit and I guess that black tight dress she wore to one of the bb premiere’s was boring but at least fitted. Everything else made her look like a washed out bag of bones.

Yes, you are being to hard on her. There are more important things than “fashion” and AJ seems to have found those things. Especially in such a shallow industry where the superficial is more important than substance, she has managed to rise above that. I don’t know her, I am not someone who reads gossip sites and then thinks I have the inside track on a celebrity’s life, but how many celebritys can you think of that actually travel for a cause, not just down the street from their Beverly Hills home to a celebrity golf tournament and think they have somehow contributed to something. There aren’t very many. When you are lying on your death bed what do you want to be remembered for: your excellent fashion sense, or that you somehow, in any way possible, tried to affect change in the world. Think about it. This rant isn’t because of your article Kaiser, I’m just commenting on the bigger picture that this post raises.

yeah, but, being a celebrity, I think having some sort of fashion sense comes with the territory. You are in the spot light and people want to see you looking amazing. I’m not saying it’s bad she doesn’t care as much as others, because I liked most of her outfits. I just agree more with Bliss. If she tried out a broader color palette, she would look AH-MAZ-ING.
She has such sad blank eyes. Like she is on meds to keep her crazies in.

I’ve seen her in green, black,gray,beige, white, blue and yellow, I’d love to see her with some kind of red print or even plaid. She dresses kind of boring and very predictable, she should surprise us with something special.
Ursula – come sit by me. lol. You’ve got a point. There is something blank about her eyes. And a lot of times she comes across as one of those peole who have to profess to everyone how great their life is and how happy they are, when behind the scenes, they aren’t.
As for this topic, Angelina has okay fashion. Nothing really wows me about her on the red carpet, but I blame that on her stylists being that they shop and amke suggestions for her. I agree witht he person who says her everyday style is more favorable.
The green dress she wore while pregnant looked amazing: Angelina Jolie in 2008.
It’s not that different from the dresses she usually wears, style-wise, but the color is so much better on her than beige or grey. If she’s only gonna go with 3 colors, they should be green, blue, and black.
No, you’re not hard on her, not at all. Her sense of fashion isn’t developed almost at all. And, I love her, but somebody has to tell her it’s not a good thing 😉

I get a feeling that fashion isn’t one of her main priorities. She wears what’s comfortable.
I liked her in that vibrant yellow she wore at Cannes two years ago and she wore some really gorgeous maternity dresses last year, except for the tan one. That one looked like a burlap sack.
I don’t see her in pastels at all. She looks gorgeous in bright colors — red, yellow, green, turquoise. Not so sure about electric blue. I can also see her in warm metallics — gold, bronze, copper. Silver would make her look washed out.
The black dress she wore to the academy awards would have been a big yawn except for the emeralds which set it off.
With a face like hers – she can afford to downplay with clothes. Mrs Jolie gets so much (unwanted?) attention for her beauty that she might actually wants to dimmer the lights on her by choosing less attention-grabbing clothes. I doubt that this interview is real but in it she said “I usually have three basic colors” not I only wear 3 basic colors. Reading Comprhension ! She has started before that she’ isn’t into fashion and has never even been to a fashion show. Every woman doesn’t care about fashion.
Look she can wear three colors all she wants but it’s a bit hypocritical to call her style comfortable and classic when a certain other person’s style is pretty much the same but hers gets called boring.

I will go along with Ursula’s comments on AJs empty drug induced gaze. What is going on there? I love fashion but I am also a parent of a young child. So I can understand why a woman would wear three colors or a few of the same complementary styles. I also agree that there are more important things to life than fashion and shoes but AJ has never had a sense of style, even prior to motherhood.
i dont think her fashion sense is that bad as many people try to make out, the woman wears what she is most comfortable with and their still stylish but not over the top.
At least compared to some other people on red carpets who dress to be seen as fashionable or edgy yet unfortable in the outfit or the outfit wearing them instead of the other way;at least angielina doesnt look like she is uncomfortable in what she wears or looks stupid either.

I think her fashion style is safe, at least she is never on the worst dress list like Tilda , Helena or Diane Keaton.
I agree with Ronnie. I don’t blame her for not wearing fussy clothes. I pretty much only wear black, white, and green myself, and go for shape instead of loud fabrics.
That said, I think Angie looks gorgeous in anything she wears.
And I also think Jennifer Anniston does as well.
She looks lovely in almost anything, but the nude/tanish color in the photo above seems to kinda wash her out and make her look older than she is.

this woman is pretty amazing… not in that “i adore her sort of way”, just based on what she has accomplished. there’s an article about her every single day (usually 2 or 3) and despite the fact that this one is centered around her boring wardrobe, there are still more posts on it than any of the other “articles” on celebitchy…

I think AJ wear’s ‘real clothing’…the fabrics look like real clothes,not spacesuit material that is taped to her body.

I’m indifferent to her acting/roles,and semi-ambivalent about her as a whole,but I DO think she’s a natural beauty. Gorgeous. And she looks like a classic film star of old.
I like her style. I like that she never copies anyone else. She has had hits and misses like everyone else. So nothing to sweat. I have loved several of her red carpet outfits.. the white dress in 2004, the yellow, green and blush at Cannes.. Loved the Oscar dress; classic and chic. Loved the dress she wore at the BB premier at NOLA.. simple and beautiful. She has never been a Diva. So needing to stop traffic on the carpet does not seem to be her aim, yet whatever she wears is always noticed and talked about. So like it or not Her red carpet looks are a subject of conversation. And I wonder how many other red carpet looks this year you remember. Not many I bet.
I can’t imagine the time and attention that taking care of six kids would require. My sense of fashion went out the window after having just one kid. I never have enough time to really SHOP anymore, so I wear the same old colors too.
I think you’re being a bit too hard on her. I love skin-tone outfits, it gives the appearance of almost-naked. Skin-toned shoes lengthen the leg, skin-tone bathing suits are really hot, and her skin-tone dress matches her coloring quite well.
Popular colors cycle through just like clothing, except they seem to be on a longer cycle time-wise. Many years from now, when sites publish old photos of celebs, the ones wearing the bright colors of late, and the overly-saturated 70s mod colors recently in vogue will look much older than they actually are, just because the colors and clothing will have gone out of style. But Angelina’s style will not look as dated many years from now, because she chooses clothes that suit her, instead of being a trendy fashion whore.
maybe she should start wearing hats in 3 basic colors to cover that huge shiney forehead she’s got. That is one massive forehead, I will never understand how she conviced people to think she is beautiful.

Maybe you should STFU.. her sylist has said the same thing. You never see her at every fashion event. Never see her needing to be the center of attention on the carpet. YET she is.. and as far as her beauty is concerned..yeah beauty.. she did not convince anyone of anything. What a silly statement. She is who she is. If you find her attractive/Beautiful your opinion.. If you don’t find her so again you opinion.. Because many people do find her beautiful. I don’t think she did anything to make that happen..
