The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge are probably vacationing in Mustique right now

Oooh, so it looks like the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have flown to Mustique, all undercover. I’m not going to talk too much sh-t right now, for several reasons. One, it’s been a few years – that we know of – since William and Kate have gone to Mustique. Of course they’ve been on holiday a lot in the past five years, but reportedly, they last time they were in Mustique, it was in 2015 (as I said though, I suspect they’ve vacationed there at least once in the past three years, we just didn’t hear about it). Secondly, I’m not going to talk sh-t about it because at this very moment, I’m not going to begrudge Kate and William some downtime with their kids and with the Middleton family. And thirdly, I kind of believe Harry and Meghan will go on vacation in the next month as well, so I don’t want to be accused of double-standards. Here’s the evidence:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are believed to be enjoying their first holiday as a family of five in Mustique. While no photographic proof has surfaced, Twitter is rife with comments that the royals have headed to the Caribbean. According to royal blogger Tea Time with the Cambridges, the family were spotted arriving at St Lucia airport, where they then boarded a private plane to their next destination – the small island of Mustique. Kate’s family, the Middletons, were also spotted. Kensington Palace has declined to comment.

Mustique, which is a favourite with royalty and celebrities alike, is extremely exclusive. It has around 100 luxury villas and operates a no-fly zone over the area, which would be perfect for the Cambridges and their young children. The royals would be able to soak up the sun and enjoy some relaxed, carefree downtime away from the public eye.

It’s not clear which of the Middletons have joined the party, but Kate’s parents Carole and Michael are likely to be in Mustique too, as is Kate’s younger sister Pippa, who may be enjoying a babymoon with her husband James Matthews ahead of the arrival of their first child. The group also have extra reason to celebrate – not only would the Cambridges be marking their first holiday as a family of five, but William and Kate’s son Prince George is turning five on Sunday.

[From Hello]

If this is correct – and it probably is – then good for them. *shrug* Kate actually deserves a holiday after giving birth to baby Lou, and taking a holiday with three kids PLUS her parents PLUS her sister and Terribly Moderately Wealthy James Matthews doesn’t actually sound all that relaxing. As for William – he’s been working more as well, so he’s seen as more “deserving” of a vacation too. That was always one of my biggest problems with their endless vacation cycles previously – they seemed to take more time and effort into planning their vacations than they did actually working.

Wish I could have all those vacations

    • Who ARE These People? says:

Wish I had someone pack me up for them, right down to the toiletries, the medicines and special snacks. It must be easier to travel when you have a valet.

  2. Loopy says:

Am I the only one who is urked by how yellow Williams teeth are and why he doesn’t do anything about it?

    • Amelie says:

I think anyone sitting next to Kate and her perfect white veneers will look like they have yellow teeth! He can afford to have them whitened of course but they look pretty straight to me. I dunno I never felt the urge to get my teeth whitened. I can’t tell if they are the same color as William’s but no one’s taken me aside to be like “You would look so much better with your teeth looking an unnatural bright white.”

      • Loopy says:

Nope even on his own their always incredibly buttery yellow. It must be smoking or a lot of tea,I was not suggesting he goes for the freakish Hollywood white.

    • anna says:

In Europe, many ppl are more relaxed about teeth perfecting. He whitened it before the wedding, as I remember.

    • Enn says:

My teeth are yellowish and I’m so self conscious about it that I’ve stopped smiling in pics. They’re too sensitive for whitening, too.

Guess I’ll go dump out the rest of my coffee…

      • Molly says:

I highly endorse activated charcoal powder to whiten stained teeth. White strips make my teeth far too sensitive, but charcoal doesn’t hurt at all. A Buzzfeed article kept coming up, and I didn’t expect it to really work. I figured it was less than $20, so I’d give it a try. Totally worth it!

      • MissM says:

Crest 3d white toothpaste is my jam. Is good for sensitive teeth and it promises to remove 90% of stains in 3 days which it really does. I highly reccomend it!

      • Enn says:

My dentist and a friend who is a hygienist both said that charcoal can make some people’s teeth porous and they don’t recommend it.

      • Jan90067 says:

MissM, I recommend that, too! Got coffee stains off really quickly, and maintains it nicely 😊. I’m a big promoter of this product 😄

      • spargel says:

Unfortunately if you have too little enamel left on your teeth (which even some people in their 30s have to deal with), you aren’t a candidate for any whitening products/toothpastes because it thins enamel even more–most dentists would give that a hard no. Veneers may be his only option if he cares, but that’s a big event vs. professional bleaching or home whitening products.

    • Citresse says:

Is William a smoker? Kate smokes I think. Hopefully they stop smoking.
If they’re in Mustique, it’ll be a fun holiday for George and Charlotte.

      • raincoaster says:

They both smoke. When the topless photos of Kate came out, the Palace was even MORE concerned that no photos of her smoking come out.

    • Beth says:

Decades of taking my prescriptions has left my teeth yellowish and it’s kind of embarrassing. I’ve never smoked, I only drink water, I take good care of them, the dentist tried to whiten them and it didn’t work. I know teeth are really noticeable, but it is what it is

  3. Lizabeth says:

A 12+ hr flight with an infant, 85°F daytime, 80°F nights, 80+% humidity, hurricane/tropical storm season… No matter how lux the island accommodations and how private the flight it wouldn’t be my first choice for a July holiday! And while Mustique hasn’t reported Zika, other islands in the region have. If I were Pippa, don’t think I’d chance it.

    • Jan90067 says:

Trying to corral and get sunblock on all the kids, and Williams head, doesn’t sound like rest to me! lol But then, I’m not a beach person, so I’d prefer to stay in an air conditioned cabana, where I can look out at the lovely waves, just not be IN the heat and sand.

And I agree, Zika is nothing to fool with, esp with Pip in her last trimester.

    • harla says:

I think that’s why the Cambridges haven’t been there for the last couple of years but since they might not be having more babies they don’t have to worry about Zika.

  4. Cerys says:

I don’t grudge any hard-working person a holiday. I suppose even the Dolittles are entitled to a break. They haven’t had one, that we know about, for a while. Mystique with the Middletons is definitely preferable to Balmoral with the Royals.

  5. Starryfish29 says:

They were rumored to have been in mustique at the beginning of the year, before the kids went back to school. I’d be seriously shocked if this was their first vacation this year lol.

    • Digital Unicorn says:

It’s likely not, they’ve both been turning up to events looking very tanned even before the good weather spell here in the UK.

  6. themummy says:

Can we not say “Baby Lou”? Gross. “Lou.” That’s horrendous.

    • Omrita says:

I agree! Why the author insists on Baby Lou or Prince Lou is beyond me. But she has a thing about giving nicknames to celebrity kids, which I find absurd.

    • BegoneOrangeCheeto says:

One person’s horrendous is another person’s endearing. I don’t mind it and I guess I’m not sure why folks are so icked by it. It’s a cute nickname and he seems like a Lou.

  7. Lola says:

William has been doing more lately. He did a bunch of events in Scotland recently and the of course there was the Israel and Jordan trip. I feel like the addition of Meghan kicked him and Kate in the pants a bit. Not that they are rivals but more they realized how bad they’ d look to be out done by a newby.

  8. April May says:

Do you think they forgot about James M or just not invite him?

    • Citresse says:

I doubt James is tagging along. Harper’s Bazaar online is reporting Pippa is not in Mustique.

    • magnoliarose says:

I think they all got together in a clandestine meeting and decided the Marshmallow Tycoon wasn’t worthy. They didn’t want to spend the whole holiday with him posing and trying to be an island hipster.

  9. YankLynn says:

The eye witness reports apparently saw Middleton parents with the Cambridges. That didn’t surprise me because I’d guess Pippa would avoid the risk of zika and I didn’t see a mention of James. Its possible those 3 could be going too, but traveled separately. I think Kate and Will traveled separately from the Middletons before so they don’t always go all at once.

  10. raincoaster says:

Back in the day the whole Royal Family would go to Mustique regularly, because Princess Margaret had a house there. To me, it’s always been and still is the height of glamour. St Barts is lovely, I suppose, if you like oligarchs, but I grew up idolizing Mustique. I still hope to one day have enough money to stay in the Cotton House and drink at Basil’s Bar.
