Brad Pitt calls Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie “ridiculous” – also shops for gerbils

Brad Pitt totally quit America a week ago. And when I say “totally” I mean “he and Angelina went on vacation to their chateau for an unknown period of time.” This is one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen an actor do – considering he left town one week before his big new film premiered stateside. Brad’s PR for the film hasn’t even been that hardcore for Inglourious Basterds. A few interviews here and there, no major magazines, two television shows. That’s not really any big media campaign. I’ll give you one comparison – when Megan Fox was promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, she did more than seven magazine covers and cover interviews.

Maybe Brad thinks that Basterds is a good enough film to stand on its own. If that’s the case, he may be proven right – Rotten Tomatoes is giving Basterds an 88% positive rating, which is really good (Tarantino’s last films, Kill Bill Volumes 1 & 2 both got 85%). It looks like Brad is still invested in promoting Basterds oversees, though. And it turns out that when Brad is promoting a film overseas, he’s perfectly willing to talk some smack about other “Naht-zi” films. Brad spoke to the German magazine Stern (quotes via People) about where he thinks Basterds will fall in the history of WWII films:

As far as Brad Pitt is concerned, his new film Inglourious Basterds is the be all and end all of Nazi movies.

“The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino, director] put a cover on that pot. With Basterds, everything than can be said to this genre has been said,” Pitt tells the German magazine Stern. “The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.”

As for another WWII Hitler assassination movie with a famous Hollywood star, he says there is no comparison. When the Stern reporter mentioned Tom Cruise’s recent turn in a film about a real plot to kill Hitler, Pitt simply said, “It was a ridiculous movie.”

Pitt also revealed what movie he does find note-worthy – even life-changing – Saturday Night Fever.

“When I was a teenager, I saw Saturday Night Fever at our drive-in, but it wasn’t the dancing that electrified me. It was the life and culture in Brooklyn. I’m from Missouri, the southern part of the Midwest in the U.S., and I never heard families talk that way to each other. From that point on, I wanted out to see more of the country and of life.”

[From People]

Xenu will not be pleased. Xenu will find the Jolie-Pitts and drown them with barley water. Xenu will audit them with tin cans and string. And dude, Saturday Night Fever? That must be why Brad wore that hideous white suit the other night. It was his homage to John Travolta. So sad.

In one other piece of Brangelina news, it seems Brad and Angie took their two oldest sons to a local pet store in the south of France. According to Us Weekly, they went to buy gerbils and goldfish:

While at the Brignoles, France, store — called Jardinerie du Centre Var — Jolie, wearing a black maxi-dress, reached into the cage to pet the “gerbilles” while Pitt perused the aisles. The couple stocked up on a cage and gear for their new pets and also bought Maddox a cactus.

One day earlier, the parents took daughters Shiloh, 3, and Zahara, 4, to lunch at the Auberge de Chatueauvert in Correns, France. Their meal consisted of a platter of cold cuts and a mushroom omelette, and the parents drank Rose wine. Both of the girls had stick-on tattoos.

[From Us Weekly]

Aw, sounds like a nice vacation. But who buys gerbils (or “gerbilles”) when they’re on vacation? It’s weird, yes? Anyway… I’ve never had any desire to own a gerbil. You shouldn’t even get me started on the animal thing, because I have very strong opinions. I believe in big dogs. I love big dogs. I don’t understand why people would get small dogs – if you want a small dog, get a cat. I love cats too, and that’s why I don’t get gerbil and hamster people. Do they think a cat would be too much work? Do they just long for something really tiny to love? Who loves their gerbil like a member of the family? Maybe it’s just because I’ve never seen or heard of a gerbil or a hamster having a good personality. As far as I’m concerned, they have no personality. This is why the Jolie-Pitts should get a cat.

Update by Celebitchy: Brad Pitt’s manager has denied this report, saying “Brad has never seen VALKYRIE so this is NOT accurate.”

Here are Brad and Tom in their respective posters.

Ugh. Who is he to talk? Far be it from me to defend Tom Cruise, but Valkyrie was not bad, horrible or ridiculous. I think at that time, Tom Cruise had amassed such a persona for being “strange” that it would not have mattered what he did, people were going to take the movie badly.

But it actually did well at the box office, making over $100 million, I think. It had great actors in it and critics overall thought everyone did a good job.

MK said it best when he said that from the trailers, all you can really take from it is that he butchers the Southern accent.

And Brad’s accent in Troy was “ridiculous” and he was the weakest part of Benjamin Button. The most interesting part of him was how he aged backwards and for that, I give credit to the special effects crew. I wouldn’t have even cared about his character if it wasn’t for that.

  2. whatever says:

I work in LA and have always heard nice things about Brad. That being said, he shouldn’t say a bad word about other people’s movies. Yes, Tom Cruise’s acting left a lot to be desired in Valkyrie, but the director is well-known and well-liked. Stick to talking about your own movies, Brad. This is the reason why actors need publicists.

  3. ash says:

wow, that strikes me as odd for him to say something like that….

  4. fizXgirl314 says:

wow, Brad Pitt should not be calling other peoples’ movies “ridiculous” when he’s in a Tarantino Film. His films tend to be the epitome of ridiculous… But I guess that’s his schtick.

  5. Jess says:

If you must get a pocket pet, a gerbil is the way to go. They don’t bite, sleep at night (hamsters sleep during the day & play ALL night), and urine output is small. I feel like a loser now. Just thought ya’ll should know.
Tiny Tom is going to be pissed! He is still sore over Interview with the Vampire.

  6. viper says:

Bastards easily blew Cruise out of the water.

  7. ferdis says:

Sorry folks, but Tom Cruise is better actor that Bradley. He is crazy, but he is better actor. He was sublime in Magnolia, for example. And I NEVER, NEVER head anything from Tom’s saying bad things about others actors or movies. The Jolie-Pitts needs a publicist or they need STFU!

And about the better nazi movies, someone pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee tell him about Schindler’s List,The Pianist, The Reader, etc, etc…

  8. fizXgirl314 says:

I’m sorry but enough cannot be said about this. He is in a movie where they’re scalping nazis and he’s gonna bash a true story with a plot that actually makes sense? that is just a NEW FUCKING LOW! this guy has become way too popular, and now he thinks he can just talk out of his ass and not be help accountable? what an idiot!

and Tom Cruise is a WAYYYY better actor… he might be a nutball but he was sooo much better in Interview with the Vampire. I’m sorry but brad pitt needs to stfu and thank his lucky stars cuz he’s managed to make it with his lousy acting…

  9. diddy says:

Tom Cruise might be a headcase ,but he is a way better actor than brad and has a better total boxoffice record than him.

Also Cruise is aging better than brad pitt lol

  10. Kaboom says:

Well there is a fact-based if fictionalized movie like Valkyrie and then there’s entirely fictional stuff like Basterds .. the question is, what is more ridiculous?

  11. Zoe (The Other One) says:

I never thought I’d be forced to jump to Tom Cruise’s defence cos he is a reet mental head BUT Brad needs to learn that its not cool (uncool if you will) to slag your colleagues, you come across as immature and churlish.

ALSO he is a good enough actor but seriously, at least the Cruise Nazi film had roots in reality. It’s a bit much to dismiss it out of hand as ‘ridiculous’.

As for defining films highlighting the WW2 period, just off the top of my head I’m gonna go with Sophie’s Choice, The Pianist, Dambusters, Das Boot and Schindlers List being eeeeeever so slightly more ‘important’ than some movie with Brad Pitt, Eli Roth and a shitty accent. Methinks Pitt is building up his part in defining world war two on film just a teeny weeny bit. Maybe.

  12. adamantia claus says:

The older and grouchier Brad gets the more I like him! He’s KILLING me with his recent interviews and his to hell with faux media publicity shots attitude. He seems to be done with the nonsense and realizes that his fan base and the quality of the movie should be able to make it profitable. I imagine he must think that there isnt really anything left for him to say about himself at this point and the media will just make up the rest.

  13. whatever says:

Tom a better actor than Brad? That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard. Pitt has a wide range of roles: serial killer, good old boy drifter, an insane, self-entitled man, a fighter, a gypsy, a con man, a personal trainer, etc. Tom always plays the “intense” guy, which seems a lot like who he is in real life. It was a laugh watching him as a Nazi in Valkyrie. His whole demeanor didn’t change the entire movie. There was no emotion or depth to his acting, and he ruined the movie, basically.

  14. Fat Elvis says:

    What an ass.

  15. Diablo says:

Ferdis, it was Tom Cruise who said this about Brooke Shields: “Here is a woman -and I care about her because I think she is incredibly talented – you look at her , and where has her career gone?”

He was talking smack about her because she “stupidly” admitted to suffering from PDD and taking medication for it…which he as a Scientologist disapproves of.

  16. Bill Hicks is God says:

To say any kind of comparison between the two films “is ridiculous” that’s one thing; to say the acutal movie itself “is ridiculous” is reaaaaaally unprofessional man. Who the fuck does he think he is?

I’ll tell you what’s ridiculous: when twats like Pitt buy into their own hype. Probably compares shaven nutsacks with Clooney to see whose is smoother.

  17. Charity is Chic says:

What happened to Brad’s humility? It’s like he’s turned into Brad Pitt’s #1 fan. To say Basterds is the greatest WWII film ever made is to suggest I, Brad Pitt, am the star of the greatest WWII film ever made.

I know, I know he cares about orphans, refugees and NOLA. I know this because Brad never misses an opportunity to remind me how much he cares. I used to like Pitt when he thought of himself as a lucky dork. Now he seems even more annoying than Tom Cruise (I know, whoever thought that would ever be possible?) He seems so completely full of himself now. Walks around acting like he’s better than everyone else and trashes other people’s movies. He wasn’t that way before. WTF! It’s like he’s had a complete personality transplant.

  18. Firestarter says:

I am no fan of Tom Cruise, but I do know that I have never read where he has put down others actors movies. He may be a nutty Sciento, but he is not mean about others actors and their work.

Tom is also a much better actor than Pitt. Magnolia and Last Samurai were great movies, not to mention his humorous turn in Tropic Thunder.

It is ashame that Pitt is so full of himself these days,

To also say that I.G is the end all for WWII movies is ridiculous. What about Eastwood’s Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Father’s? What about Band of Brother’s?

  19. ferdis says:

    Diablo,
Well, he wasnt talking about her series or any film that she did. When Brad told about Valkiries was disrespectful with industry: the director, the crew, etc. NOT JUST with the crazy TOM CRUISE. This is the lame part.

  20. Tess says:

One day, after the Angelina thing has bitten the dust, what’s he gonna be?

A Wm. Macy wannabee, if he’s lucky.

  21. fizXgirl314 says:

This guy is wacked out of his gourd… Cruise had to apologize profusely for his statements and the public STILL hasn’t forgiven him… I’d like to see this schmuck apologize for something one of these days…

  22. Firestarter says:

    Ferdis- Agreed.

Also, Cruise made a very public apology to Brooke over the comments that he made about her and her PPD, and she is actually a close friend of Cruise and his family.

  23. Zoe says:

wow, it’s always like the same three people posting over and over… where’s Ursula, etc.?

Brad sounds like an idiot here, for sure. It’s very true that Cruise wipes the floor with him acting wise and I keep wondering if Brad wasn’t trying to “joke” and it just came out really badly.

Also, I don’t think he’s saying that IB is the greatest war movie, AT ALL, it seems like he’s saying, there are still stories to come out of the war, but this particular take on it, (perhaps its tone or whatever) makes for a great book-end to the genre. Could this have been mis-quoted/translated?

We all know he’s not the brightest bulb and I really think he’s been hanging around Tarantino too much (way overrated, in my opinion) and is trying to be breezy and impressive and repeat what he’s been hearing for the last few weeks about the movie. Bad move. It doesn’t come off as funny, just stupid.

  24. CeeJay says:

    Oh, it’s on!

  25. dee says:

I’VE HEARD SO MANY STORIES ABOUT THIS IDIOT IN THE LAST THREE WEEKS.
COULD IT BE HIS HYPE FOR THE MOVIE…….

  26. raven says:

Pitt’s remark about Cruise concerns me because it is in People, which has always been pretty positive in its coverage of the J-Ps and has had a lot of cooperation. So People is unlikely to make stuff up and risk pissing off the J-Ps. OTOH, Pitt’s comment could have been from a foreign press article that was badly translated. I’ll hope for the latter, because, even if true, it is not a very politic oomment.

  27. whatever says:

Tom a better actor? NO WAY. His ok movies: Risky Business, Born on 4th July, Jerry Maguire, Magnolia, Tropic Thunder vs. Pitt’s ok movies: 2 Young 2 Die, California, True Romance, Thelma
-Louise, Legends of the Fall, A River Runs, Seven, 12 monkeys, 7 yrs/Tibet, Fight Club, Snatch, Babel, James, Burn after reading, and Buttons. Pitt has better roles and more range. No contest

  28. Rosalee says:

Brad Pitt believes his own hype..he has jumped the sofa. Now we will witness the downfall..joking folks. Nope, TC is a far superior actor to Pitt..watch them in Interview with a Vampire. Cruise ate the role..while Pitt was wooden..Pitt recycled the role for “Meet Joe Black” once again wooden and stiff. “Legends of the Fall and A River Runs Through It”, same role – While Cruise has a definite range Born on the 4th of July, The Firm, Risky Business and he has been generous when it comes to his peers, unlike Pitt.

  29. moo says:

You guys are all sitting around wondering WTF happened to good ol’ Brad?? He USED to be such a great guy… hmmmmm…. just think about it people!

OK… It’s because he hooked up with the biggest EGO in the world ~ who is also an incredibly BAD actor, but have managed to convince themselves they are gods gifts to us all and are now trying to tell us all how we’re so f**king lucky to be on this planet with them! Nice try dildo, but it ain’t working on me!!!

The last Pitt movie I saw was A River Runs Through It. And that’s the LAST one I will EVER see. Even for free.

  30. rop says:

    1. Did he actually say it
    2. War Vets of this era probably have a different outlook on war movies.
    3. Valkyrie did have some historical substance, which was the point of the movie, so apples to oranges if you ask me.
    4. Note to Mr. Pitt-Get over yourself and your fabulous life. To quote Christopher Walken in Balls of Fury “Less talky, talky more ping pong.”

  31. sela says:

Dear Mr. Pitt – Your version of a hillbilly (an imitation of Mr. Potato Head’s cockeyed grin) is not Oscar winning stuff – not even close. The acting accolades for IB have certainly not gone to you. The only person that seems to be blind to your mediocre skills (or maybe he is just good at PR) is Quentin T. I’m glad the other actors had stellar performances to make up for yours.
Tom Cruise may not be publicly popular and Valkyrie may not be the best of WWII films, BUT he can act circles around you!
PS. I hated the way you sat in your chair and sulked like an obstinate child at the Academy Awards when Kate Winslet won for best actress. Get over yourself and your beatnik mustache that looks like it has Sasquatch’s dinner hanging off the ends! and I hope for your children’s sake your girlfriend still finds you tolerable.

  32. moo says:

oh wait… I did see Fight Club – and truly enjoyed that, because he got shit beat out of him! hahahahaha!!! asswipe.

  33. Enonymous says:

When I first saw the trailer for Inglourious Basterds and Brad’s moronic facial expressions (like in the posters above) I genuinely though the movie was some kind of cheesy, stupid comedy type nazi movie, so this is rich coming from Pitt. Truth be told, despite recent public opinion, Tom Cruise has always been far more superior as an actor then Brad Pitt and always more interesting as a person. I agree with most of the comments above.

  34. cleveland says:

Cruise made a very public apology to Brook Shields after his career went into the toilet. It’s called PR 101. Please, he’s stil a Scientologist, he didn’t change his opinions about her. This Tom vs. Brad thing is about ego. It’s no secret they hated each other after working together. Cruise is crazy Scientologist, and Brad is a dope-smoking atheist. DUH!

  35. sigh says:

Pitt is learning publicity from the self-aggrandizing MASTER – Tarantino.

  36. Sakota says:

While he portrays someone who has been through the war and mutilated no less, he’s remarkably soft looking. Since he’s been with Jolie it’s been one thing after another with him.

As for his Southern accent, it’s like he isn’t trying anymore, with anything. I enver used to hear about him in the tabloids as much as I have in the past couple of years.

  37. Laura says:

    @Sela

    You make me laugh. 🙂

  38. karen says:

I don’t get the endless Brad hate.
So, he called the movie “ridiculous.”? So what? It was a bad movie. And, Tom Cruise totally trashed Brooke Shields saying “where has her career gone, and she’s irresponsible, etc.” Both have said some really stupid things. I would still rather have a beer with Brad, then be lectured about Scientology and the evils of therapy by Tom Cruise.

  39. Enonymous says:

Tom Cruise is a brainwashed moron while Brad Pitt is a egotistical moron, for this Brad is the slightly more intolerable of the two evils.

  40. Who Cares says:

Regardless of who is the better actor or who you’re a bigger fan of, IF Brad said that, it was wrong and classless.

They are both major Hollywood stars. Whatever personal feelings Brsd has about Tom’s film are better kept to himself.

  41. cassie says:

Us weekly says Brad’s manager says the quote is not accurate Brad hasn’t even seen Valkyrie. But the damage has been done fortunately TC knows about misquotes

  42. sigh says:

    *snort*
He has been denying supposed quotes a lot lately.

Maybe these “reporters” are offering friendly drinks before they start their interviews.

  43. cassie says:

I can’t recall Brad’s manager denying a quote recently. Example please?

  44. tessa says:

I can’t wait to see IB!!!!

  45. PJ says:

I liked Valkyrie, it had a good plot. Benjamin Button was stupid and boring. Brad seems to like playing these “dumb guy” roles. Maybe he identifies with the character!

Brad was always known for his looks, not his brains.

  46. michele says:

All of the sudden these people come out of the woodworks and say they how much LOVE Valkyrie. *snort* You only like the film NOW, b/c you hate Brad. The film was universally panned by critics and disappeared at the box office. Buttons was a hit making money and earning Oscar noms. Seriously, what ‘tards.

  47. michele says:

UPDATE: Manager: Brad Pitt Never Called Tom Cruise’s Movie “Ridiculous” Friday August 21, 2009.
A German magazine, Stern, quoted the Inglourious Basterds star. But Pitt’s manager claims: “Brad has never seen VALKYRIE so this is NOT accurate.”

  48. susan says:

I am so with you on the pet issue! I hate small dogs and don’t see the point. And I also love cats. 🙂

  49. DD says:

You probably hate small dogs because you’ve never had one. I used to feel the same way… but when i moved out of my family home with my beloved german shepherds and really wanted a pet of my own I felt a small dog would be the best fit since I lived in a small apartment and couldn’t give it big dog exercise. Small dogs are just like big dogs in small packages. They have a bad reputation because many owners don’t train them properly, which is something you can’t quite get away with when you have a big dog.
Sorry for my small dog rant.

UPDATE: Manager: Brad Pitt Never Called Tom Cruise’s Movie “Ridiculous” Friday August 21, 2009. Guess it was lost in translation. A German magazine, Stern, quoted the star . . . but Pitt’s manager claims: “Brad has never seen VALKYRIE so this is NOT accurate.” I guess the haters can slink back into their holes and wait for the next opportunity to villify Brad.

  52. fizXgirl314 says:

I have a small pup, she is the sweetest thing on the planet… full of love and joy and happiness and loyalty… she’s awesome. I don’t see how anyone could hate her if they knew her.

  53. K McFarlane says:

I very much doubt that he meant it like it sounds. I suspect it’s either a quote taken out of context, a joking comment that was taken literally or simply a mis-translation (the original quote was to Stern magazine, so perhaps it was translated into German and then back into English, losing something along the way).

  54. Tony says:

All said and done, it sounds like Mr. Pitt is rather full of himself.

  55. docalion says:

Aww! Brad you’re so full of yourself!! Wahaha!! It’s not nice to say bad things to your co-actors! All hail TOM CRUISE!! Bwahaha!

  56. random says:

just another reason why i despise brad pitt. what a douche. Tom Cruise isnt’ the BEST actor, but brad pitt is just AWFUL. I’m on team cruise (as much as it pains me to say it) on this one.

  57. toto says:

German magazine Stern recently reported that Brad slammed Tom Cruise’s WWII flick Valkyrie, quoting Brad as saying it was a “ridiculous movie.”

So glad to see the haters have found a forum…

Funny any negative story is believed straight away.. but a postive has to be a lie..Brad and Tom are friends and have been for years..

I have never heard Brad nor Angie say anything negative about anyone.. so NO this is just what it is a STORY.

I love how some people love to come to Tom’s defence when they think Brad is involved..

But hey the haters need a place to vent.. Have fun..

the majority of people who have met Brad all say what a great down to earth guy he is.. He does not need to trash anyone. But I see some people get off on assuming that this has to be true..LMAO..

  59. cassie says:

BTW the only entertainment show to cover this “Feud” was enews. I watched extra , ET, AH, Hollywood 411 nothing. The tabloids like Star, OK ,L&S, NE no mention because its so ridiculous

  60. DD says:

“I guess the haters can slink back into their holes and wait for the next opportunity to villify Brad.”

Nope. You’d think that all the ppl trashing him would be eating sh*t, since the quote isn’t accurate. Nope. Just shows you how irrational and mindless they can be.

  61. Mairead says:

@ Marsden, thanks for clearing that up 😉

As for the story itself, thank goodness it seems that Brad was misquoted, as he would have a friggin’ cheek to slam any acting endeavour as being “ridiculous” considering that the closest he got to acting in years was Buttons (but he was excellent in Burn After Reading, the man should learn he’s a comic actor, simple as). 👿

Valkyrie was a good film. it was beautifully done, well-paced, with a decent script and some fantastic actors. Teeny Tom was not one of them, however and was the big farting pink elephant in the cinema. But if someone else was the lead – even bloody Clooney – it would have been fantastic. Considering that half the cast was from a WW2 film I like very much, Zwartboek/The Black Book, they should have gone the whole hog and cast Thom Hoffman as lead.

As it stood Valkyrie got a smattering of applause in the screening I saw; it would have been nearly a standing ovation if it had a better lead.

  62. SShaw says:

Can’t stand either one of them..But Valkyrie SUCKED BAD! I couldnt care less if it was about real events. Thats irrelevant. Brad has the right to say what he wants. Period. IF hed even said it. I’m seriously doubting he even did.

  63. Rosalee says:

Brad Pitt went too far in stating that Inglorious Basterds was the final word in WWII flicks, he obviously didn’t realize he was making a fantasy film..THAT quote disregards stories based on actual fact and historical documentation that quote is a disservice to the remaining WWII veterans and the many stories which have yet to be told. Go rent Band of Brothers, Twelve O’Clock High, Battle Cry, Sands of Iwo Jima, Young Lions, Stalag 13, Flags of Our Father, Letters from Iwo Jima, Hell is for Heroes, The Longest Day, Saving Private Ryan..I’ve seen them all.

  64. lucy2 says:

I don’t care much whether he said it or not, since I don’t like either moron and have no intention of seeing either film.
I do have to wonder about buying pets like gerbils while on vacation. Seems kind of impulsive and more like instant gratification rather than thoughtful planning. They never stay in one place longer than a few months, and I can’t imagine that you can just freely cart small rodents around from country to country without some hassle, unless they don’t plan on bringing them with them when they inevitably go somewhere else. Didn’t they have a dog a few years ago? What happened to that?

  65. Jenna says:

This reminds me of Angelina trashing Madonna’s adoption of kids in Malawi. Obviously Brangelina sit around thinking that they are the greatest thing that ever happened to humanity. They are just so full of it.

  66. Rose says:

Except she didn’t ‘trash’ madonna and Pitt didn’t trash Cruise or the film. So sad to see people grasping for anything to gripe about. I don’t think Brad Pitt is a saint or the smartest person in the world, but the level of spite he and Angelina generate based mostly nothing is staggering.

  67. jules says:

have i got this right, Pitt’s publicist denied the statement so Stern (the german equivalent to TIME) must have made it all up or gotten his english all wrong since their a bunch of uneducated europeans???? Stern should sue his ass and make him pay for his attempt to cover his ‘ridiculous’ behavior at the expense of people’s journalistic reputations.

  68. jules says:

ps there are 9 million words in the german language compared to 1 million in the english. so i don’t believe they couldn’t find the most exacting translation for pitt’s ramblings.

  69. Michael Madsen said it best, enough with Brad Pitt, already. He’s not, Paul Newman and will never be.

  70. PAZUZU says:

Brad played Tyler Durden and Tyler Durden can do whatever he wants to. So what if he took a swipe at Tom, only a sissy would get upset over such a light comment.

  71. yikes! says:

Agreed Rose! I don’t get the point of the constant hate, esp when the quote isn’t accurate. There are a lot of celebs I dislike: Paris, Lindsy, Spencer, and Heidi. But, I don’t sit around wishing bad things for them. Apparently, lot of people want Brad to fail, his relationship to fail, etc. Seems like there’s a lot of unhappy people on the internet.

  72. kim says:

Where is the Stern interview? I’ve only seen blogs commenting about what was said in the interview. I googled Stern Magazine(translate) and I don’t see an interview with Brad. Where is the interview?

  74. Heavenbound says:

Back pedaling much? I also found Benjamin button incredibly boring, and pls don’t get me started on Jolie’s acting after a saw the Changeling I wanted my money back. It’s not hating Brangaloonies, It’s just that they are terrible actors.

  75. Cheyenne says:

To lucy2: They may be thinking of making Miraval their home base. Hence the gerbils.

  76. Ursula says:

Brad Pitt once again puts his foot in his mouth, someone just shut him up already. He should not be allowed to talk in public. How I miss the days when he sat around looking pretty and spaced. Now he looks constatly smug and drunk.

Looks like I’m the only lucky one here who have seen IB. And this movie is RIDICULOUS. Stupid plot, no acting, lots of blood and scalping. I’m Russian, and we just do not share that American belief that it were (only) amricans who won WW2.

Valkyrie is great. I’m no fan of Cruise, but this movie is perfect. Deep, psycological, equivocal.

Saying that IB “put the cover on that pot” is simply stupid for forty-something adult.

  78. Jazz says:

Small dogs are good for people that don’t have the room for a big dog. Also for the elderly who might be too frail to look after a large dog.

Anyway if they want a small pet, why not adopt Tom Cruise? tee hee

  79. pst says:

every movie I saw of brad pitt, firstly it because I was obliged and never felt a connection. When I think about his co-stars always outshined him:
fight club (edward norton), legend of the fall (anthony hopkins), (interview with vaampier (tom cruise), ect. They gave me goosebumps, while he always been an okay actor.

  80. Praise St. Angie! says:

    to JM…

THIS American knows what part the Russians played in WWII and how they were instrumental in liberating the death camps.

but please remember…Hollywood is NOT representative of America… 🙂

  81. Stormy says:

All right, let me settle this once and for all…THEY’RE BOTH RIDICULOUS! I cannot stand either one, and I wish Tom Closetcase would beam on up to the mother ship, and take Mr. Jolie, his Rainbow Coalition of spawn and his heroin addicted praying mantis of a girlfriend/wife/whatever the hell she is along so we never have to hear any of their asinine, idiotic and completely useless, banal drivel EVER AGAIN. Barf.

  82. HEEL LIFT says:

There are a lot of celebs I dislike: Paris, Lindsy, Spencer, and Heidi

  83. TOM says:

I HATE BRAD, HE IS A PIT FOR ALL THE SHIT

  84. Herb Ryser says:

Simple related question here. How many of you consider Truex and “Tier 1?IMHO a Tier 1 driver “should” consistenly make the Chase, have a legitimate shot at the CUP and can win a min 1-3 races a year and I dare say w/ relative ease. Basically a top 10 runner in hypothetical “equal” equipment and zero pts for popularity.
