The impression I have from the first weeks of the Bennifer revival is that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are spending time together and pretty much “back together,” but it’s not nearly as all-consuming as we want it to be and the media wants it to be. We thought that they first reconnected at the end of April, which is when Ben Affleck was seen getting picked up by Jennifer’s white Escalade. Then it turned out that Affleck had started writing Jennifer emails full of love and longing back in February, and we all had to adjust our timelines of the revival. Now “sources” want to readjust everything once again. You know those emails full of longing that Ben was sending J.Lo back in February? Well, he was just reaching out to her as a “friend.” And he thought she might be single. LOL.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s reunion came about organically.
“Ben reached out to Jennifer as a friend,” a source tells PEOPLE of how the former couple reconnected 17 years after they ended their relationship in 2004.
“He was basically checking up on her,” says the source. “He was single and thought she might be single, too.”
At the time, Lopez, 51, was still with then-fiancé Alex Rodriguez. The former couple announced they were “working through some things” in March before officially parting ways in April. In January, Affleck, 48, had split with then-girlfrend Ana de Armas after first being romantically linked in early 2020.
“It was in no way disrespectful, because he really thought she wasn’t with Alex anymore,” the source says of Affleck reaching out to Lopez.
Oh my god. Like Ben didn’t know that J-Rod was still happening! I honestly believe that as soon as Ben heard that A-Rod was hitting up women on Instagram, including Madison LeCroy, Ben was like “how shall I work this? I’m going to break them up.” And he did! It wasn’t even hard. That period really was the beginning of the end for J-Rod, and all Ben did was help her make up her mind, basically.
I’ve said this whole time that we know that Ben historically enjoys the hunt and the pursuit, but he’s not so great at the daily comfort of a real relationship. I’ve been hoping that J.Lo will keep him on his toes and keep him on the edge. But I don’t think she is. I think she’s already all-in.
Looks like Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may see each other in the near future. While the two have parted ways since bonding in Montana last week, a source close to the singer, 51, tells PEOPLE, “[Jennifer] is in touch with Ben every day.”
“They are making plans to see each other,” says the source. “Jennifer is still very excited about how things are going with Ben.” Meanwhile, Lopez “is spending time with her kids in Miami,” says the insider, adding, “She has been working, too.”
Stop being so available, Jennifer! Lord, you know how to play these games, so just do it. I need this revival to last through the summer, but J.Lo is going to burn through Ben in a month. That being said, sources told Us Weekly that things were progressing “slowly” between them, but I’m not sure I even believe that. Escalade rides and Montana vacations don’t say “slow” to me.
Ben was spotted out with Seraphina this weekend in Brentwood. He wears a mask when he’s out with his kids, which is nice. He seemed to be okay with the paps too.

Call me crazy but all I see is a commitment phobic 50 year old man who still accelerates every relationship to 100 in 60 seconds and probably stinks of Starbucks coffee, stale cigarettes, Tiktok influencer p-word and an impending alcoholic relapse. He screws EVERY relationship up in 12 months and that includes this supposed “love of his life”. They only lasted two years and that final year was her hanging on with all her might (that’s the year all those bored Ben and syked Jlo clips come from). And even that didn’t work coz homeboy went and found some strippers to really drive the point home to her. The only reason he lasted 10 years with his wife was the kids frankly. Will Jlo have kids with him to keep him? He’s gross, yuck.
I think it’s Dunkin coffee but otherwise, largely, yes.
I also see a woman who doesn’t know how to be alone for a hot second. Don’t leave her out.

So… JLo in February did not tell Ben when he started flooding JLo with love ❤️ letters thinking she was single, did not tell him she was still engaged to ARod.
Maybe ARod saw the letters from Ben and thought he was single too so he started seeing another women. Why is everyone giving JLo a pass and not Alex, just asking.

@MM I hear you, I did not know that, but Ben did disrespected her second husband, Chris by going after her while she was still married. He send her flowers and letters right in his face. jLo left Chris for Ben, they got engaged and he left her by disrespecting her by having affairs in the open. After the broken engagement she went and marry Marc A about a month after Ben left her. She is being given to much slack for her behavior IMO.

This man is a real gambler! I think he wants to be the winner but after a while he doesn’t want his prize. I am here for the grand finale of this story. It will be interesting. Seems likely Ben’s ego took a hit if it is true Ana was the one who called an end to their relationship. One way to get over being dumped by a much younger up and coming latin star is get back with perhaps the biggest latin star, which he apparently started e-mailing within a month of Ana ending things. I’m sure him and his people also saw the buzz over Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston that helped Brad win all those awards last year as well. Then months ago after so many years Ben suddenly starts answering questions about JLO and talking about her positively in the media.
You think the fact that jlo is Puerto Rican played a part here? I think Ben just got back with an ex single at the same time as him who he had an intense relationship with and he needed that hit of intensity
As if Ben doesn’t have a habit of encroaching on relationships and poaching past GF. He did that with Jlo and Cris Judd. Literally began wooing her and giving her flowers, not even under Cris’ nose, but literally in front of his face. You forgot that Lindsay Shookus was married when he started with her too. He seems to like the unavailable girl, the challenge of winning her, the thrill of flaunting his reward and then he’s done. Dopamine depleted, he either starts to drink or cheat or both for that new high. The pattern is obvious but these women still think they are gonna be different. They’ll change him.
This gossip is fun, no doubt, but I just don’t get why she would revisit Bennifer after the way he treated her towards the end of their relationship. Doesn’t she know she’s Jlo? She can do better than Affleck.
It is so crazy, but I don’t think she can be single and she needed somebody fast to help everyone forget what an embarrassment Alex was, and he’s(Ben) down after being dumped so the timing is perfect for both their egos. When one of them finds someone else the cycle starts again. Oh dear, Jennifer needs a less metro male and some corporate dude like Joan. Crawford eventually did, it’s an easy retirement.

When I heard Ben had started emailing jen back in February I looked back and yep, thats just when the Madison / southern charm rumors started. What other person would pounce on that immediately? Without at least hearing that the engagement was over first? This is a guy that worked his best to destroy the Cris Judd marriage in its infancy, and admitted in an interview that he and Jgarner fell in love shooting Daredevil, forgetting I guess that she was married to Scott Foley then. There must be some childhood trauma that makes women more attractive if theyre taken and he can get his ego rubbed by ‘stealing’ them from other guys.
Im glad for bennifer 2.0. It’s going to make summer gossip so much fun. Deep down though, I always want Ben to just work through his demons and be stable. Relationship or not. Maybe he needs to be alone with his Dunkin’s for a looong time.

It’s really easy to put down Ben but thank God *SOMEONE* performed euthanasia on that engagement with A-Rod. I’m sure we never heard the worst of Alex’s transgressions, the NDA’s must have been getting deep. When Jennifer wants to get hitched she weds with lightning speed so for her to delay a wedding is a billboard-sized announcement saying GIVE ME A REASON TO GET OUT OF THIS ONE! And by reason, I mean a guy.
I admit Ben is looking extremely hot in that photo, all the navy blue layers works on him, and fit and in shape.
Bloated, drunk Ben was not hot and sad. Ben when he started getting face peels for baby soft skin and fillers was horrific. I do have to admit that heavier, tired Ben in The Way Back that’s when I could admit even like that he had an attractiveness to him, because he had a ruggedness in the movie, and it was gritty since he was an alcoholic in the movie. . I watched that movie twice. I really felt all of the supporting character roles in the movie were great and realistic. Janina Gavankar was superb as his ex-wife.
I think Ben is just a classically handsome kind of guy, tall with good bone structure and nice features, etc. He can get away with a bit of extra weight and looking tired because of that. My sister is a big Matt Damon fan, in terms of just finding him hot, and I was always more of an Affleck fan in that way, even if he made a few bad movies. He reminds me of Jon Hamm in that way. Don Draper was always attractive even when he was a mess.
I also liked The Way Back.

I bet more than anything that Benny Medina lined this up with Ben behind the scenes to ensure she had a new relationship plan after finally dumping the roided up turd. Affleck is one of my all-time hot celebrity guys, but he’s such a loser. I’m not sure why anyone would want to give him a go, let alone a woman who was once engaged to him.
I like JLo, but I think she has some serious issues when it comes to men… and this is, in my opinion, clearly a rebound. She got burned BADLY by ARod, who we all know is a disgusting pig with a history of cheating on women. I really think she got her heart broken after that last scandal with him texting that woman from whatever reality show she’s on.
I guess everyone is different, but being so desperate to prove to yourself and other people that you’re wanted that you run back to your loser ex from years ago is not a power move in my opinion. This reeks of desperation. To me, this reads as “any port in the storm” for JLo and she’s better than that.
Of course now he’s ok with the paps, he might even smile for real, because he think his reputation has sky-rocketed again after being linked to JLo. And he can keep his bs to himself, even my cat knew Jlo and Arod were still together. Pathetic and gross, not to forget honewrecker too.
