So please explain to me, as clearly as any of you can, how we get from where we are now to Harris. While Harris may be the best and most logical option, she’s far from being the only option. She’s also an option that many people — including many big donors as well as voters — don’t want.
So, seriously, what are the steps here? Let’s say, best case, Biden voluntarily resigns on Monday, offers his full support to Harris, and Harris is all in. Then what happens? What if other candidates want in? What if the power brokers support another candidate? What if the same forces that have made Biden’s age an issue (and it is) also quite correctly point out that as a biracial Black and Asian woman, multiple polls done in multiply flawed and biased ways suggest that while Harris polls ok against Trump and Vance, some as -yet-unidentified white male will sweep the swing states and do much better overall? The white folks who’ve said “No” might have very different things to say about running if Biden officially steps back.
Trump and Bannon promised chaos. That’s where we are now.
FWIW, If Trump wins, I think he’ll resign relatively quickly, leaving us with Vance — who will pardon Trump on request. Vance is younger, smarter, and more obedient— with all the hatred and resentment and fewer florid deficits.

We saw Twisters yesterday. Glenn Powell has never done anything for me – he’s too classic Hollywood pretty but those jeans really do look nice on him. Fire alarms went off in our theater and they froze the film for about half an hour while that was sorted out . They froze it during the chicken scene so that will never not be hilarious to me. The biggest mystery to me and several others in the theater (we all bonded during the fire alarm) was whether or not Maura Tierney was Maura Tierney. A fun but not compelling time spent in a movie theater

I am in Australia but I have started waking up in the night thinking of the nightmare that is unfolding and how another trump term will be a disaster for human rights, and especially for women. Polls are not accurate. The methodology is very suspect. They do not tell us what’s really going on. Look at 2022 when there was supposed to be this big red wave. What a bust. Those polls don’t show that Biden/Harris will win. IMO, they will win BIG.

When Biden was inaugurated, I was watching the inauguration from the hospital. It was the day I was going to be released after my bout with covid. I was getting teary just watching all of them walk towards the stage. When Michelle appeared I cried in front of the nurses, and a feeling of such relief washed over me that the adults were in charge again. I realized how long I was holding my breath with that orange-faced clown at the helm. 4 long years. The president has my vote, I know he has good people around him, and should anything happen to him (not that I want it to), they are going to step in. Things like everyone knows that the economy was the best it ever was during my presidency and throughout Bidens it’s been the absolute worst. Just complete b.s. we are being invaded by Venezuelan murderers and violent mental patients. It really reminded me of Hitler and his speeches. Demonizing immigrants, saying I will fix everything with a waive of his hand because everyone is afraid of him and that’s how it should be ? What year is it? Kamala can take him on successfully.
