Each and every staffing announcement and cabinet appointment coming out from Donald Trump’s transition team is more unhinged than the last one. There has been no name which has garnered the reaction of “oh, a consensus appointment which will make both sides happy.” Even funnier is that many of the names are unpopular even within the MAGA Republican movement. Take, for example, Marco Rubio. One of the dumbest senators ever and someone who has zero respect within the party. Well, Rubio will probably be Trump’s Secretary of State??
President-elect Donald J. Trump is expected to name Senator Marco Rubio of Florida as his secretary of state, three people familiar with his thinking said on Monday, as Mr. Trump moves rapidly to fill out his foreign policy and national security team.
Mr. Trump could still change his mind at the last minute, the people said, but appeared to have settled on Mr. Rubio, whom he also considered when choosing his running mate this year.
Mr. Rubio was elected to the Senate in 2010, and has staked out a position as a foreign policy hawk, taking hard lines on China, Iran, Venezuela and Cuba in particular.
He initially found himself at odds with those Republicans who were more skeptical about interventions abroad, but he has also echoed Mr. Trump more recently on issues like Russia’s war against Ukraine, saying that the conflict has reached a stalemate and “needs to be brought to a conclusion.” Despite speaking in hard-line terms about Russia in the past, Mr. Rubio would likely go along with Mr. Trump’s expected plans to press Ukraine to find a way to come to a settlement with Russia and remain outside of NATO. It is unclear whether the leaders of Ukraine or Russia would be prepared to enter into talks at Mr. Trump’s urging.
Yeah, the “settlement” Trump and Rubio want to work out for Ukraine is that Ukraine will “belong” to Russia and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be defenestrated. Let’s be real. By electing Trump, the American people sealed Ukraine’s fate. As for Rubio… he’s going to be hilariously awful as SecState, but I suspect Trump just wants to get Rubio out of the country.
Meanwhile, Trump apparently wants Kristi “I Shot My Family’s Puppy” Noem to be his Secretary of Homeland Security. Awful. And Robert Kennedy Jr. wants to fire 600 people from the National Institutes of Health on Day 1.

Astounding.
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Not sure Kennedy will feel that way once he get’s a look at the books. Once the physicians and clinicians actually brief him on the data that he’s been demanding and the actual research methods, he will change his mind. Rick Perry found out the same thing when he was put over Energy. I foresee bribes to approve medications and to pull medications from the market (eg. Plan B, Birth control pills, mifepristone)
What a cluster f***. But these jackasses will probably be fired within a year, that’s Trump’s MO. Fire incompetent and replace with more incompetents.
Remember how DJT cycled thru cabinet members last time? We should start wagering as to how long each one of these dimwits will last 🙄
Would they outlast a lettuce?
As I said on another post, it’s like Trump is just pulling these names out of a hat (or his ass, whatever). So, Rubio wants war, just not that war in Ukraine because it’s opposed by Putin’s puppet. Anyway, I don’t think any of the cabinet members will have any power. That’s going to be exercised by the crew behind the curtain.
F U scouring pad head. Could you pick any worse people?
I’m sure it’s been said, but if an ACA plan on the marketplace covers you, do not wait to sign up beyond 2024. If it’s within your budget, make energy-efficient upgrades this year—heat pumps, solar, house battery storage, etc.
Same with electric cars – there are tons of deals, especially for leases.
While I have heard some talk about the red states not wanting to repeal the IRA clean energy credits, I certainly wouldn’t bet on it. And the import tariffs we are facing.
Viva le resistance. One house and car at a time.
The next few weeks are going to be a slew of essentially casting rumours, floating test balloons for public reaction, and also sycophants making sure their own names get into the conversation.
We’ll see if Rubio actually gets the SecState portfolio – Heinz 47 is known for being fickle, petty and vindictive. My guess is that he will expect some humiliating grovelling from little Marco before he passes him over for the job.
This world, and this country in specific, can only be cleansed by fire. That’s all I’ve got.
Rubio is maybe the least worst of all the people he might choose? I don’t think he’ll last very long though. L’il Marco is gonna be fired by St. Patrick’s Day for trying to act like an adult.
