If you told me yesterday that Meghan Trainor was just 30 years old I would not believe you. I thought she was in her late 30s, and if I’m being generous it’s because she’s accomplished a lot professionally at a young age. The fact that Meghan has been oversharing for many of those years, along with her general altered appearance, also age her. Meghan is just 30, and she recently complained on her podcast about the fact that she’s had so much Botox she can’t smile – or speak properly, judging from the clip I saw. I’ve seen this before with various Kardashians, and celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Julie Bown and Casey Wilson have described Botox mishaps that have left them unable to smile, chew or make an expression that’s not a grimace. Meghan is definitely going through it.
“I got too much Botox and I need help,” Meghan confessed, laughing. “I messed up. I’ve had Botox, like, a handful of times … just my forehead.”
[Meghan] also shared that she’d had filler on her upper lip, which she also regrets. “Someone convinced me with my little lips that if you did a lip flip, you put filler right above your upper lip, that you could have a beautiful flip on your upper lip,” she said. “And I could have one for the first time in my whole 30 years of living — it was not true.”
Meghan explained that following the cosmetic procedures, “I cannot smile anymore.” She then looked at the camera, smiling, as she said, “Look, this is as big as I can smile.”
Her brother and co-host Ryan Trainor then recalled the pair visiting a Home Goods together and telling his sister at the time, “Bro, you can’t smile,” adding, “My inside thoughts became my outside thoughts.”
Meghan, who was also joined by her husband Daryl Sabara on the episode, said in response, “And now, I can’t unsee it. And everywhere I go I cannot smile. My face hurts to smile, to even try.”
[She] then held up a photo on her phone of herself holding a dog when she recently visited a dog shelter as she said, “I don’t look happy. I look like I smelled someone’s fart … somebody help me!”
Speaking about her decision to try Botox for the first time, she said, “I was like, ‘This is young.’ People gave me compliments [saying] ‘You look rested.’ So I was like, ‘I’m going to do it again.’ I just got back from tour.”
[Meghan] went on to share that what she’s learned from the experience is “don’t try everything.”
I watched the clip on E! New’s segment, below, and it’s unclear whether she got filler and/or Botox above her lip, but she opened by blaming the Botox. In the full podcast, available on YouTube, she explained to her confused husband that she had lip filler in her upper lip and then Botox above it. Right after that Meghan excitedly talked about the fact that she’s going to get a boob job to fix her “mommy boobies” after nursing two babies. Good for her if that’s what she wants, but when she said this she had to open her mouth wide to the sky like she was a character in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs trying to catch a pancake. Does she blend all her food and/or chew with her mouth open? I have a lot of questions about this. It’s telling that she got some positive feedback for her first Botox injection and then went all in with “a handful” more, as she admitted. As someone 20 years older than Meghan who has never tried Botox, I’m wary of this slippery slope. Will she look younger if she ever lets it wear off or will she have this permanently aged look, somewhere in the twilight zone of looking 40 to 60? Given the fact that she’s talking about getting breast augmentation right after complaining that it hurts to smile, it’s likely she’ll have other work done before she’s able to find out.

It’s just ironic, I guess? Her most famous song was about celebrating her body just as it is no matter what anyone says about it: “Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top.”
Written before she turned 30/had two kids/people started shaming her body for being as is.
I thought that song was a response to body shaming.
Hey, it happens to the best of us – LOL!
…speaking from experience.
That is … an old “30”. Are we sure she didn’t pull a Rebel Wilson and significantly lower her age at the beginning of her career?
Her little kiddos are adorable.
