Prince Harry and Prince William have both maintained their connections to the Diana Award, which honors young people who make a difference in their communities. In fact, I think the Diana Award remains the sole charity which retains both brothers as patrons. In the past five years, Harry and William coordinate separate appearances in association with the Diana Award, even when Harry is appearing virtually. Think of how deranged that is, that everyone walks on eggshells (huevoshells) around William because he is incapable to sitting there and watching Harry zoom into the event at the same time. This is how People Magazine reported this year’s separate Diana Award stuff:
On Dec. 4 and 5, the Prince of Wales, 42, and the Duke of Sussex, 40, will be sending support to the latest recipients of the Diana Award. The cohort will be honored at a virtual ceremony on Thursday, with the princes issuing separate congratulatory messages.
The split strategy avoids any overlap between the royal brothers, as a strain remains amid a rift in their relationship. Sources previously told PEOPLE that Harry’s attempts to connect with his brother — through texts, calls, and messages — are ignored.
The rift with Prince William is “very bad,” said a royal insider, but it’s not “irreparable.”
Apparently, Harry sent in a prerecorded video – he previously tried to speak live via video conference – while William handed up letters to the winners yesterday. What isn’t being mentioned in any of the coverage is that Harry did an in-person event with Diana Award recipients back in September, when he visited New York. Interesting. Anyway, this is how Tom Sykes at the Daily Beast reported it:
Prince William and Prince Harry are engaging in yet another very public display showing how toxic their relationship has become by refusing, once again, to appear together at an award ceremony honoring their mother’s legacy. While Harry will appear via pre-recorded video at the Diana Awards tomorrow, William will not attend and instead handed out letters to the winners on Wednesday.
It’s arguably a slightly less absurd solution than that employed at another awards ceremony for the charity in March this year, which saw William speak live at the event with Harry’s speech delayed till after he had left. Adding to the sense of bitterness back then, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, announced the launch of her American Riviera Orchard brand on Instagram minutes before William took to the stage.
Prince William’s new letter seemed to adopt some Sussex buzzwords, with the future king writing: “I am so proud of the impact every one of you has had on your communities and beyond. You are driven by kindness and compassion and through this you are all changing the world for the better.”
“You are driven by kindness and compassion” – surprised he didn’t mention his latest buzzword, “empathy.” William and Kate never spoke about “impact” in the before-times either. Anyway, William and Harry’s relationship is absolutely toxic and virtually non-existent, but it is what it is. As William rage-shrieked last year, the next time he’ll speak to his brother is at their father’s funeral.

Agree. He will not speak to William just like he did not at the service for his aunt’s husband. He will be there and leave right after the funeral. Meghan won’t go after the way she was treated at the queen’s funeral. And absolutely not entertain that ridiculous coronation.
And, they will sit him on row 3 or 4, even if it’s his own dad’s funeral!! But daddy wasn’t good to Harry. so Harry really needs to leave after it’s done.
I am sorry to say the bully boy looks nowadays he is in comparison with Chucky on who might be at the gate of heaven, purgatory or hell first. William does not look good at all.

Interesting comment. What happens if William passes first and Charles soon after? George is left as heir apparent? Who is in line to be regent?
Harry then Andrew then Beatrice. I could see both men passing on the regency and it possibly being Beatrice. Hopefully that’s not the case though.

Weren’t there mother’s of underaged children as regents? Shouldn’t it be parliament decision? Ask me, I would take Anne as the most capable, if she is fit enough.
@Blubb For some reason the most recent Regency Act, from 1937 (this is the one that set up a permanent structure for creating a regency and determining who may be made regent and HOW), just doesn’t allow for a spouse not in the line of succession to be made regent. The Regent must be the next person in the line of succession who is all of the following: 1. over the age of 21, 2. a British subject domiciled in the United Kingdom, and 3. capable of succeeding to the Crown under the terms of the Act of Settlement 1701 (must be a member in good standing of the Church of England).
It DOES specify a difference between legal guardian and Regent, and that these two role are not necessarily required to be the same person. It it entirely possibly that if Charles and William die before George is 18 that his legal guardian would be his mother and that either Harry or Andrew would be the Prince Regent.
The thing is Harry says that his relationship with William was always toxic. So them not being in the same room is probably for the best rather than having to pretend that they’re so close as the Palace made them do in the past.

The estrangement is Peg’s loss. Harry pretty much lost him while they were at Eton. Harry is just a spare creature for Peg to use and abuse for his own credit. My prediction is they may never reconcile because Peg knows he’s in the wrong and Harry laid out specific criteria for a possible healing. But Peg will never admit accountability.
Remember how the UK press and derangers mocked Harry for his job title of Chief Impact Officer at BetterUp only for W&K to turn around a couple years later and put out a JD at their foundation asking for someone to lead ‘impact’ work? And now William can not stop saying the word ‘impact’ lol. These people are a joke
