I was glancing through this story, thinking about how funny it is that Jamie Spears is trying to put some kind of lojack on Britney’s nipples, when I came across the buried lead – according to The Sun, Jamie made Britney and Jason Trawick split up?!? What? Jamie thought Britney’s relationship with Jason was “too intense and volatile. He feared it was sending her back to her old ways. He warned her: ‘It’s Jason or your children’.” Jesus, I just shuddered. I mean, yes, I still think Britney probably needs the conservatorship, and I do believe she needs someone to help look out for her. But threatening a mentally unstable woman that she needs to dump her boyfriend (who seems like a good influence, seriously) or she won’t be able to see her kids? Ugh. It reminds me Changeling, when you found out all of the women in the asylum had been institutionalized because they pissed off the cops in various ways. Bad call, Jamie. If it’s true, that is. Anyway, on to a happier subject: Britney’s wayward nipples.
BRITNEY SPEARS’ worried father has banned her from leaving home without wearing a bra. Dad JAMIE – who has legal control over all Britney’s affairs – fears his troubled daughter is getting close to the brink again and has imposed a host of new rules on the Womanizer singer.
He is embarrassed by constant pictures of her nipples popping out of her clothes and has insisted she only leaves her Los Angeles home wearing the correct support.
Jamie, 57, is taking the order so seriously he has even threatened to sack one of the 28-year-old’s security guards who has let her be photographed bra-less several times in recent weeks.
Jamie recently forced his daughter to dump her 38-year-old boyfriend JASON TRAWICK because he was worried she was falling back into her emotional turmoil after years of recovery.
He feared their volatile relationship was sending fragile Britney close to the edge.
A pal revealed: “Jamie’s control over Britney’s life is incredible. He hates the pictures of her with her nipples all over the place so he has banned her from leaving the house without a bra. He wants her to put across the right impression. One security guard was told he is close to getting fired because he lets her go out without her bra.”

FREE THE NIPPLES. No, I get it. Britney’s nipples (and her boobs in general) are out of control. I’ve been wearing a bra since I was 12 years old – I developed early, but they didn’t become huge until college, when my weight fluctuated. And save for a brief moment in college when I was like “screw my bra, I’m going commando” I’ve always been strict about my bra-wearing. It’s important! Because for that brief time period where I didn’t wear one, too many dudes commented about it. Just like Britney.

Yeah, she DEFINITELY needs to wear a bra, and I am shocked that her father hasn’t done something about it before now. But he has kept her from flashing her rotten roast beef all over LA so I guess one baby step at a time is all we can ask.

Not wanting your daughter to run around the streets of LA looking like a boob job ad is being a good dad, in my book. He may be very controlling, but my goodness, I think she needs it. And once she decided to have her own kids, their well being has to come first, and that includes Brit being responsible and a little selfless. If a personal relationship is making her unbalanced again, it needs to be ended for her sake and her kids.

Honestly i feel like bras are a controlling mechanism. Im no revolutionary but i feel so much better without one. Im a DD and ive been a D since i was in 10th grade and while lift looks nice, i hate that i have to make my breasts appear like something other than they are.
Secondly there has been major study about the affect of bras on the circulation of breasts. Apparently women who wear a bra 24/7 are 100 times more likely to develop breast cancer than a women who never wears a bra and 50 times more likely than a women who only wear a bra 12 hrs of the day. Something about lymph nodes and such.
Thirdly i’m pregnant with stupid morning sickness and i’d walk around naked if i could.
I think Jamie is threatened by a good relationship that could take power from him and hand it to either her or her husband. I also think that if this is true he is over stepping. Her breast and her lack of support for them are her buisness!

I think her dad has her best interest at heart. To defend himself on allegations that he is too controlling, he would have to come out and share Brittny’s personal details in a public forum.
I’m glad he doesn’t think he had to defend his actions publicly, as doing so (michael lohan) would only be bad for Brittany and his grandchildren. The only person he has to justify anything to is the judge for this case. (and maybe his ex-wife 🙂
It seems to me he is ok, letting the press make him out out be a controlling d*ck as long as it keeps her from going further over the edge. As a person who has a parent with issues like this, its hell getting through the ups and downs.

#8.. I’d REALLY like to see a link to the study you’re referencing. Not an article summing it up.. the actual medical study. I hope you realize that lymph nodes exist everywhere in the body, so if wearing a bra for x amount of time in a day makes you “100x more likely to get breast cancer”, which I personally doubt the multiplier is that high but whatever, it would be analogous to saying that wearing skinny jeans for x amount of time in a day makes you so much more likely to developing cancer in your legs. It doesn’t make logical sense. And anyways, making something 100x more likely is a strong statement to make, especially for something as relatively common as breast cancer. If every woman had even only a 1% chance of developing it (which I would think is very very low), that means if they wore a bra 24 hours a day they would have a 100% chance of developing it, which just isn’t logical at all.
Personally I always wear a bra in public just because it makes me feel more comfortable, but if I’m going to bed or just recently woke up I go braless. I’m not some bra maniac or anything, I just wanted to express some serious doubt about that study…

freckles – A lot of people, doctors included, do believe that wearing a bra contributes to breast-related illnesses (breast cancer, fibrocystic breast disease.) Anything that decreases lymph flow (tight pants, tight underwear or bra) can be detrimental if done to an extreme.
There’s no consensus, of course, so you can really believe whatever you want. But I know I feel better when I don’t wear a bra all the time.
As for Britney … her prominent nipples are the least of her concerns. Even if we’re talking about her appearance and not her mental health – her hair and her taste in clothing and makeup are quite a bit more worrisome. There are plenty of shirts/dresses she could wear braless that would be lot more flattering.
I can imagine MY dad checking me to make sure I was wearing a bra. HAHAHAHA! Not that I could go out without one. I’m a fellow DD sufferer. (Men may like big boobs but try finding a dress shirt that fits properly without making you look pregnant.)
i am 5’4″ with DD boobs – it’s a bitch. thank god i also have a kardashian booty and a small waist, so there is some proportion and hourglass happening. ANYWAY, brit’s boobs are not huge. who the hell knows what goes on with her. the biggest thing that bugs me re: brit these days is that i think she needs real medical/psych treatment and not just control via meds and her dad. i suspect she has a real psych disorder, plus the mindf*ck anybody would have from being a child star/britney spears – she seems so unhappy.
i have the same theory on both brit and katiebot – any woman (or man), even with limited resources, who is happy and cares about herself, puts more effort into her appearance on an average day than these two hardly ever do – any woman with the excessive resources of these two is capable of looking like a million bucks all the time – that they both look SO damn haggard on the regular speaks volumes about their mental states.

Im with you! I think she looks so unhappy and so unkept. (Just like Katiebot) The fact that shes sans bra, has sweat or greas stains on her t-shirt makes her look even worse. (dont get me started on the orange soda in 1 hand and coffee in the other) Latley it’s like it’s all she can do to put her hair in a pony tail and the carefully apply that awful red lipstick. I do think her father has her best interest at heart.

I said there has been major study done, but of course you know that many many of the actions we participate in daily increase our rate of developing cancer that not every single doctor agrees on nor are these ideas going to be pushed by anybody but the few who care becuase lets face it. Theres money involved. I also didnt make any hard facts, i left it open to those curious to find out and decide for themselves, but i really think its worth looking into becuase if you do you will find that there has been more than one study that has been published on. I trust that everyone here has a mini-researcher in themself and will not do anything based on the opinion or post of a sole person. Just a concerned sister caring about her fellow sisters.

Well, they made her live a fake life leading up to her tour and that’s prob what has her strung out. Not to mention how they had to drastically discount her tickets to keep the halls full in Europe and she was boo’ed at some performances in Australia because they were expecting fake singing and dancing and all they got was her impersonation of a penguin. Does she really look like someone who works out at the gym every day? I think not. She probably has a private snack bar in the rear of the building and that’s where she spends her time. But in all reality, that guy never looked happy when with her, anyways. I think he was just a replacement for the hundreds of people who used to be employed to keep her happy back when she supposedly had some talent.
That study was flawed (or rather, the conclusion that bras cause breast cancer can be drawn from it is flawed).- here is a short blurb on why:
“The study looked a 4,700 American women in five major cities, and it was supplemented with a study of women in Fiji. The American women had higher cancer rates in general than women in Fiji, and the authors erroneously decided that this was because the American women were more likely to wear bras. Of course, women in Fiji are exempt from many risk factors for breast cancer; for example, white women are at the highest risk for breast cancer, especially when they live in urban areas with a wide range of environmental pollutants, exactly like the women in this study.”
That’s why no one else here had heard anything about it. I had, but I’d forgotten why I’d forgotten it. Now I remember!
#23 I never said it’s not a risk factor. I also said that I personally don’t believe in wearing one 24/7. My point was that the effects are grossly overstated, unfortunately I guess that didn’t come across as clearly as I meant for it to.
Naye – I didn’t mean to come across as though I was attacking you personally, I was actually just skeptical of the study you saw more than your summary of it. We all know that news sources will often spin studies and take them out of context or exaggerate their effects, or even just not explain them very well, and leave the wrong impression on people. That’s what pissed me off; wherever you may have read that, and not the fact that you brought it up. I’m sorry! 🙁

i’m not gonna cite any study or anything, but i personally believe it’s best to 1) make sure the bra fits extremely well which sometimes means switching cup size in differing brands 2) not wearing them 24/7, letting the poor suckers ‘breathe’ once in a while. this belief is based on a mini cancer scare i had in the past in which a lump near the outside of my boob (was a real tumor, but benign, has gone away on its own, phew) was suspiciously right where the underwire of my bra rubbed… a while after that, a bra fitter in a lingerie shop told me that i was one or even two sizes (depending on brand and straps, etc.) bigger than the one i had been wearing, and chewed me a bit for the too-small cup size, saying i could “damage the breast tissue” having the cup pressing into the wrong place… i felt like a light bulb went off. so this TMI (sorry, guys) is just some anecdotal kind of advice for the sisterhood: be careful about the fit of your bras, get your boobs checked by a real doctor once in a while, stay healthy !!!

Didn’t Daddy Spears, after a few months as conservator, apply for and get $20k per month? Hardly “major coin” relatively speaking. He has a very stressful 24/7 job for a wealthy lady, which was sort of forced by circumstances and for which he quit his real job. I get it; he’s her Dad blah blah and should do it without being paid (ppl always say that). But it isn’t like me paying my Dad 20k a month and all said just doesn’t sound excessive to me. And he’s done okay too; considering where she was at then Vs now. I think Brit really does have mental health problems – she doesn’t look ‘okay’ to me but she sure looks a darned sight better than she did before (physically and behaviourally).
