Prince may guest star on American Idol even though it annoys him

Prince may make an appearance on American Idol for publicity reasons, but is said to hate the reality show and to never have seen it. People at Prince's record company supposedly convinced him to consider guesting on the show after it did wonders for Barry Manilow's record sales.
