Beyonce’s “B-Day” is at the top of the US charts, and she claims to have turned 25 on her b-day this year. I’ve always thought it was strange that she’s only 25, because she looks at least a few years older to me.
She supposedly made this video with Destiny’s Child in 1998 when she was at the tender age of 16, but she looks at least 19 to me. Maybe she just filled out early. What do you guys think? Screenshots of Beyonce from the video are below.

Because if she was just 16 in 1998 and she looked that mature with big boobs and all, it should have been talked about in magazines and showbiz circles, right? A 16-year-old bombshell???
I was so suprised when I found out how old beyonce was a few years ago. She has stayed pretty much the same though so now it isn’t as weird. She DOESN”T look 16 but she also has a lot of harsh makeup on making her look older in the face. As far as curves go… by 16… you’ve got a lot of what you’re gonna have. I know I had everything I have now when I was 16. But I still looked young in the face. So … go figure. I wouldn’t be suprised if she lied a little.
Hm, intersting idea.. I have absolutely no clue, I didn’t know she was only 25, I would have guessed she was at least 30!
I agree with AC, she has a lot of make-up on which would make her look older, when I was 11 I had everything c-cup and all.
Although I’m not a big fan, I think she seems older because she doesn’t act like such a ridiculous idiot in public like Britney, Paris, Lindsay, etc. etc.
It’s not that I’m the biggest fan in the world, but I know plenty of folks who have been obsessed since day one. And I’ve never heard rumors that she may be older . . . I also don’t understand why she would have lied about her age at the beginning of her career. What marketing scheme would really try to use the age of 16 as a hard sell over 18 or 19 when she’s only one member of an unknown girl group from Texas? (Anyone who is 25, ostensibly just like Beyonce, can remember when Destiny’s Child wasn’t just the Beyonce Band but was supposedly a girl group ala SWV with multiple members you were supposed to care about.) Also: Remember that her family is so involved in her career as to be scary. Does it seem likely that her parents, creepy as they are, would have lied to make their on-the-cusp-of-celebrity daughter seem younger than she really is? I really don’t see the point of that. And really, I do recall seeing a lot of pictures of her around that time in ’98-’99 (including a small article in Rolling Stone that was an “introducing” her to the world sort of article) where she still had a baby face. Her face changed so much from picture to picture in those years – sometimes she looked older (I also think that was makeup), and sometimes a lot younger.
The only thing about her that’s 25 is her I.Q.
Being that I’m from Houston and have a couple of friends who actually attended school with B, I know for a FACT that she is indeed 25. She and my sister are the same age. You know we grow ’em bigger in TX and I totally agree that she didn’t look 16 in her earlier videos.
Check this out. Im going to break it down for all of yall. Black entertainers are always made younger then they are. y cause it sells better. if ur young and cute and so on. white entertainers it doesnt really matter most times they look older then they are so why lie. You ever wonder why you never see pictures of black singers rapppers from school. all they show are private pics. We all have them the dreadful class picture. with the date and the class stamped on it. u never see these photos cause that would let the cat out of the bag, hense revealing there true age and making them look like liars. Do the math. it wont always add up.
Ok Celebitchy, I think you are just trying to create your own bs. This is like when Carrie could only analyze men to socks in Sex & the City. She is for sure 25. Just look at Kelly Rowland, who is almost 25. They attended grade school together. In fact, that video was released in the SPRING of 1998 when she was 16 going on 17. Think, Celebitchy….THINK!!!
I’m 25 also and I was 17 in 1998. I turned 18 at the end of the year. I wasn’t 16 at all in ’98. I was born in 1980.
So my point is, she might be 17, not 16, in those pics if it was after her Bday. I know, not much of a difference.
I’m glad you brought this up. I’ve always thought Beyonce looked older for her age than what she was. Some people just always look older or younger for their age. She could stay looking the same and by tht time she’s 40 look younger than most. It all depends on genes. When she was 17 she could of passed easily for 25, so it’s really hard to believe she’s only just turning 25 now. Now she looks like she could be 29 or 30.
This is the thing I know people in the Music Indusrty and they are always made to be younger if she is anything she might be 27 28 29. it really doesnt matter but that is the reality. dont you remember when Lil wayne was arrested and thay showed his write up with a different birth year. he was supposed to be one age but he’s like 4 years older. S1 ur so right. u Think.
Showbiz been doing this one for decades – Michael Jackson was made to tell everyone he was 5 years younger than he was. Made his schtick more appealing when people thought he was 8 instead of 13. Tis marketing.

I know for a fact that she is in her 30s. She is around Jay Z’s age, who I believe is 35 The majority of people in the music industry lie about their age, depending on who their target audience may be. Regardless if she is in her 30s or not, she looks great!
