What do you think of this dress? I can’t decide. At first I thought it was pretty, but when I got a closer look at it, I kind of thought it looked like paint chips fanned out. I love blue, and Amanda Seyfried wears blue well. But still – is she enough to pull this dress off? You decide.
Amanda wore the dress to the LA premiere of Letters to Juliet, which she’s also promoting heavily in television and print interviews. She sat down with Chelsea Handler a few days ago, and they ended up talking about Amanda’s foot tattoo. I think we’ve already talked about this before (but maybe not) – Amanda has the word “minge” tattooed on her foot. “Minge” is British slang for “vadge”. I think it’s like the English equivalent of “p-ssy” although the Brits use “p-ssy” too. I don’t know. If any English people want to correct me, go ahead. Amanda told Chelsea: “It means vagina and kind of proud of it. It’s my nickname. You can’t see it, but it’s called Minge and it’s slang in England. It has something to do with your pubic hair in the dictionary.” Here’s the interview:
I guess it’s cute. I don’t know. I don’t think I would want “minge” tattooed on me, anywhere, especially not my foot. But if it’s her nickname? Eh.
Amanda also has an interview in Parade Magazine, but I found it too boring to even put up. She’s talking about long-distance relationships and how hard they are. Blah.
By the way, can we show a little love to Amanda’s Letters costar Christopher Egan? He’s so cute!

Ooh, like the dress!
Different hair, shoes, makeup, it could have been really pretty.
It’s strange but I like it. I don’t think it suits her though, but it could be just her styling. I see what she was doing with the mermaid hair, but, meh.
I like it, but ditto on the shoes, and, re the middle pic: for pete’s sake, girl, stand up straight!
It’s official I can’t stand Amanda Seyfried! It’s not because of anything she’s done. I’m just so sick of seeing her face everywhere. She is like the human version of the song “You’re beautiful” by James Blunt. Completely played out.
I actually love the dress…but am confused by her nickname. Did it have a different connotation when her friends decided that her nickname would be Minge? Cause I can’t understand why you’d be called “vagina” affectionately…
I think the dress is super cute, but I don’t think that she’s pulls this off. I think it would look better on an olive complexion and/or someone with dark hair. The bold coloring overwhelms her. Someone like Camilla Belle would look absolutely lovely in this.
I like the dress a lot, but the hair is so stupid.
the dress is fine. She looks like white trash dressed up for the day with that hair though.
That co-star of here is HOT!!
I like the dress! It’s artsy and funky and young.
i like it… i wish it were longer though… so they could add more of those spirally things.
I like it.
I thought minge is a slang for pubic hair? I could be wrong, though. It’s been awhile since I’ve been in sex ed. 😉
I really like her look. I probably would like it more if the decals were only on the bustier. Certainly not trashy – just different.
I like the dress, but she strikes me as someone who generally is trying waaay too hard to be someone special. Latifah who was on an earlier thread has never let anyone define her. This woman appears to let everyone define her.
I think the dress is great. But the side mermaid/fishtail hair isn’t. I think she could have done better with the eye make up as well. Purple eye color w/ a blue dress is a no go.
I like the dress, but she is a little annoying…I take that back, she is A LOT annoying. I have a nickname but I would nver get it tattooed on myself, especially if it meant vagina or pubic hair….
The dress is the only unique thing about her; she should wear it all the time.
nice dress. not wow though. yes minge means vagina
I like the dress, but it would be much better on someone else.
I think it’s HILARIOUS that whenever you write about Amanda it’s always mean and skewed, and everyone (including me) jumps to her defense and says “Kaiser you’re so mean! Lay off Amanda!!”, so now that you finally show restraint and don’t say anything mean spirited, the comments range from “meh” to “OMG I hate this bitch”! Wtf?? Anyways, I still love Amanda and I think it’s funny that she has Minge tattooed on her foot. It just reinforces the idea I have of her sense of humor.
It’s many things, but trashy it’s not. That’s an odd word to describe it.
Cool! Boring makeup though – here comes that baby raccoon again.
She was on Jay Leno last night. I have to say she is a little strange, just the way she talked to Jay in the interview. She came across as high strung but nice. She ended up bringing some oysters out for Jay to taste… I forget why but they were talking about seafood.
I agree with ViktoryGin – great dress, bad styling. That blue eyeshadow looks awful on her.
It’s neither trashy nor classy.
the dude is hot.
Reminds me of a horribly long project of creating a color value system for Foundation Design…my color was very similar to that…so many swatches to paint BY HAND.
Pretty dress. Moronic tattoo. I mean, what the heck??
Beard
Who?
Oh my, I do not like that dress! It does nothing for her, but the colour is nice on her.
I remember seeing her costar back in his Home and Away days (I’m pretty sure that was the show he was on). He’s done well to be cast in a big HW movie.
And having ‘minge’ as your nickname and then to get it tattooed on yourself is embarrassing. Being called a minge is not a compliment…
Great dress, bad styling. Hate the hair. The tattoo is making me laugh, though!
They worked very hard on that poster to tone-down the goggle eyes, and then she wears blue raccoon eye makeup and emphasises them.
Ooh geez, did I use the word *and* in a sentence? Or possibly *that*? So sorry, moderators.
@Camille, yeah he was in Home and Away. He’s so grown up now!
I thought minge was slang for vadge. I don’t think it has the same insulting meaning as pussy. But I could be wrong.
Minge tends to mean the surrounding hair, at least down here in the South of England – check out urbandictionary.com for some eloquent definitions.
all you people hating on lovely Amanda need to shut your pie holes!
for one, the dress looks gorgeous on her, she looks gorgeously beautiful in the dress… she could wear a sack cloth and make it look beautiful. she is stunning…
for two, the ‘minge’ tattoo was her way of laughing and remembering the joke that happened on set between her two best friends and colin firth, who mentioned the word and every time he did Amanda would laugh and she asked what it meant and thats her sense of humour ( nobody here obviously knows it or gets it but maybe ONE person). it’s nothing embarrassing. I think it’s very cute and funny and just shows Amanda’s sense of humour ( you gotta know it to know what she means) 🙂
to anyone else hating on her: STOP! I know, it hurts that you’re not as gorgeous as her but c’mon, grow up please, will ya? 😉
I love you, Amanda, always and forever <333 most beautiful person, inside and out
