This story from Life & Style is being billed as Kim Kardashian’s “first ever makeup-free photo shoot”. That sentence is sad to me. Oh, wait, I just remembered – Kim also did a makeup-free and naked photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar just a few months ago. Here’s that photo:
So Kim went through a phase where she wanted to show everyone how gorgeous she is without makeup. Here’s my question though – were these photos taken before she got all of her recent plastic surgery? Look at the header photo again – I think this might be a post-op photo. Anyway, Life & Style does a little interview with Kim:

KIM: Makeup just enhances beauty. It makes you look more rested and even-toned. I use it to give my whole face a little more color since it’s so pale in comparison to my body.L&S: Was there a star whose look you tried to copy?
KIM: Yes, Victoria Beckham. I loved Posh Spice when I was in high school.L&S: What message do you want to send those fans with Life & Style’s makeup-free shoot?
KIM: Makeup is fun, but it’s just another accessory. Posing makeup-free is really empowering. Why not show people what I really look like? I’m happy with myself, and this is who I am. As much as it’s fun to glam up, the most important thing is to be comfortable in your own skin — with or without makeup.

Granted, the Spice Girls we’re just starting around that time, but the way Kim says it, she’s trying to make it sound like this is something that happened recently, like she just got out of high school. Plus, her idolizing Victoria makes sense doesn’t it? Both women put makeup on with a shovel normally, both women have altered their bodies through plastic surgery, both women date athletes. It fits!

Kim has always looked like a totally different person without all that makeup on. Matter of fact all the kardashian look different without tons of makeup on.
BTW – Kim needs to ditch the fillers. That’s what the difference is, not surgery, but fillers.

Getting really sick of this “sans makeup” trend. . . It’s like everybody’s PR agent attended a “Sociology for Dummies” conference last fall and are sold on the “Halo Effect”. Barf.
I guess they missed the decades of research that shows when pretty people dick up (or are simply a vapid waste of space, as the case may be), their peers are more likely to be judgmental and condemning.

It’s Kim’s cheek implants that are making her look freaky. They’re not natural looking at all, it’s not filler work but actual implants. Im sure she has fillers too but its the cheek implants giving her that alien/cat look.

Some here may be jealous, but I’m not getting that vibe. Why would anyone be jealous of someone who was peed upon in a sex-tape (with Ray-J, no less!) gone public?
As far as beauty goes, it’s in the eye of the beholder. I rarely wear makeup; my husband thinks I’m beautiful; and MANY people regularly think I am 15 years younger than I actually am. Age is a number, not a mentality.
What I’d like to know is: what are all these surgery enhanced, stretched, shiny celebutards going to look like at my age? Unpleasant (or, MORE unpleasant) would be my guess!
p.s. My Mom taught me makeup was to enhance what you have, not create what isn’t there. I love my Mom!

we dont know, she might regret it. thats life, were humans, we make mistakes and we learn from them. i think kims a great person, inside and out. she’s generous and kind. she does alot for those who have less.
anyways, you wearing not much make up is your choice, but as i said before, being a celebrity, and in the public eye, you do your best to look good. and if wearing as some said earlier ‘tons’ of make-up then do so! again, this is my opinion.
i’ll use me as an example, i dont always wear makeup, but when i do, ill wear alot to look my best.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as I mentioned. If someone finds the surgically enhanced look beautiful, good on them. I, on the other hand, appreciate peoples’ differences and see beauty in a variety of different looks.
And no, the sex-tape doesn’t have anything to do with how she looks. But it IS why she’s even a topic of conversation. Without it, she’d be another anonymous poor little rich girl.

she does not look good without makeup. and getting cheek implants was a horrible mistake. they look awful. she used to be pretty, and now she only looks pretty when she doesn’t smile.
and dee, kim doesn’t hold a candle to posh. posh is a fashion icon, and doesn’t have awful plastic surgery. nor was her claim to fame a sex tape.
Im in no way jealous of Kim’s appearance, or any celeb that now looks alien/cat like from too much work. I always thought Kim was very pretty prior to these new facial surgeries. now she just looks odd and like she had work done. I feel the same about other celebs that do it too. I think they take it to far. Im all for some little maintenance here n there but not the type that makes the work too obvious.
As they say, ‘the best plastic surgery is the type no one can tell you had’.
That said, I’ve never watched her show but Ive always liked her attitude and responses when she’s mocked in the tabloids. I just think she took it too far with the plastic surgery.
The upkeep on that is going to be extensive and she will have to or else the skin will sag more than it naturally would with age since she has the implants in her cheeks stretching the skin.

I saw a picture of her before the swollowing from the surgery went down and she looked so bad.
And in the picture of when she went to las vegas with Lala she looks like the catlady.
If you compare pictures of Kim when she was Brandys stylist you can see everything that she has done.
Even her ass got bigger even when she lost so much weight.
From her hair to her ass , she had work on it.
So now beauty is a universal standard virtue set by self chosen individuals who decide what is beauty or not and then decide that anyone who find the so called beauty not so beautiful is automatically jealous ?
Isn’t that a case of not accepting different flavours for different folks, different sensitivities, tastes for different individuals ?
Anyway, I personally don’t find Kim ugly at all. She is very pretty but has become too plastic for my taste and i prefer the long legged type who is more natural like Theron fo example.

I also didn’t think it was about making herself seem younger – if anything, it’s the opposite; the spice girls are ‘retro’ now — I’m also 28 and I remember loving them in grade 9.
There’s no such thing as makeup free for celeb photoshoots. I used to do mag layout & still have a lot of friends in that industry. They’re simply made up so lightly that the makeup isn’t obvious. Even when they’re strolling around outside & tmz comes up with a pic of the that says she’s makeup free, she’s still wearing makeup. Its funny, and pathetic how dumb the print media thinks we are. btw, I do think she looks waaaay better with less makeup.
Can someone please explain the appeal of this woman? Maybe it’s the men I’ve known in my life, but the whole six inches of makeup and spider eyelashes wouldn’t have done a thing for most of them; You can’t even kiss a face like that without getting sh*tloads of make-up on yourself! I’m 30, and the Spice Girls were big when I was in HS. They hit it big in ’96, which would make her 14 at the time.
I don’t think she was trying to sound younger by saying “when I was in high school”… we all know that the Spice Girls haven’t been popular in a loooong long time (I was in 3rd and 4th grade when they were at their peak!!) so if anything she’s dating herself.
Anyways I used to think Kim was SO gorgeous, like the perfect woman physically. Now she cakes on the makeup and put all those fillers in her face and botoxed her forehead, and whatever else she did… it’s just a shame. I don’t understand why someone who made a career solely on her great looks changed those looks.. did she not think they were good enough? Wtf??

Anyone who has seen that Kardashian show knows Kim’s a filthy liar. She never goes anywhere withou 10lbs of slap. Even Khloe made fun of her one time for being so anal about her makeup. She refused to be on camera without it and I think it was mentioned she even sleeps in it. Nutter.

I agree with the others who don’t think her high school comment was meant to make her sound younger. The phrase “when I was in high school” doesn’t connote any particular length of time between the past and the present; in fact, if anything it suggests that it was a while ago.
It is quite sad that she’s messed up her face so much… but judging from some of these comments, some people don’t notice or don’t care. Maybe that’s her target audience.
