Her heinous Katherine Heigl was on The Late Show last night and she didn’t disappoint. She wore a too-tight canary yellow sleeveless dress with a big black belt, an oversized pearl necklace, hoop earrings and her dark hair up on her head. The effect was like Michelle Obama on the top half meets Paris Hilton on the bottom. (It doesn’t look that bad in the pictures, but check out the video above.) It just didn’t work. Her outfit was terrible but Katherine wasn’t as vile as I found her in her last appearance on The Late Show, when she complained bitterly about the long hours she had to spend on the set of Grey’s Anatomy. This time, she just laughed loudly and frequently at Dave’s dumb jokes in an attempt to cover up her nervousness.
Katherine shed some of her diva image and seemed a lot more human when she talked about her adopted now 17 month-old daughter, who she introduced as “Nancy Lee,” and explained “We call her Naliegh.” As for how they’re functioning as parents, Katherine said that her husband of three years, Josh Kelley, is very protective and worried about everything. She added that they love Naliegh so much that it makes them feel vulnerable:
Being parents is this whole new world… I feel like she’s always been a part of our family. It doesn’t feel unusual. [To welcome her to our family] What’s unusual is the emotional change… Gradually I started to feel like… my mother puts it that you’re wearing your heart now on the outside of your body for the rest of your life… Any movie that deals with a parent and child… there’s a loss… just breaks me in a way I wouldn’t have predicted.
Letterman joked that he wondered why people can go out and murder others when that feeling of love for a child is so universal.
Katherine said she argues with her husband over small things with their daughter like what diapers and wipes they should use adding “I think I’m a little bit of a control freak.”
They then discussed the fact that Katherine is no longer on Grey’s Anatomy (the video of this segment is above) and she admitted she hasn’t watched the show since she left:
“It’s a weird feeling because it’s very bittersweet,” Heigl told David Letterman Thursday night. “I really did like my job and I really loved the people I worked with. It was reall[y] safe and com[fortable]”
“Do you still watch the show?” Letterman asked.
“I can’t, I can’t do it,” Heigl said. “I stopped watching in November when I went on family leave because I felt like I was missing the party, it was weird…I actually get a little bit jealous about Alex sleeping with other women. It’s really inappropriate.”

I can’t hate on Katherine Heigl at this point. She’s trying so hard and you can tell she wants to change her image. She explained herself sort-of well in this month’s Harpers Bazaar, too, as Kaiser reported yesterday. I can hate on her stylist though. Her hair looks so much prettier when it’s blonde (she told Dave it was dark for a role though) and her outfit, hair and jewelry were just awful last night.
I should mention that Katherine is promoting that “Killers” movie she stars in with Ashton Kutcher that’s out June 4. It doesn’t look bad, but it looks predictable.

I can still hate on her, especially now that she is about to ruin the Stephanie Plumb character from my favorite books. Stephanie is not a giant, loud obnoxious character.
Can we hate on her bad Jackie Kennedy fashion then? That’s not a good look, and I’m beginning to wonder if she doesn’t look in the mirror when she puts on her makeup. There’s no way a pro did that.
On the fence….
Get the impression this lady is quite determined about her particular moralistic points of view from watching her on letterman.
another kinda too self-determined & slightly arrogant feminist?
the yellow dress- way too tight!
Did they kill off her character or something? I haven ‘t sat through an episode of that televised crap shack in years.
Look at the fat rolls unfder her left arm in the last picture – too funny!!!
her armpit looks like it’s being held hostage.
That outfit and hairdo is totally Michelle Obama style. That dark hair does nothing for her. I guess she’ll be doing more movies now, I hope she adopts another kid that would be cool, maybe a boy this time?
Dye that hair blue and we have Marge Simpson.
She seems fairly nice in the interview, but she might want to do some push-ups before she goes for the sleeveless look again.
true, when blonde she looks younger. brunette with that style she looks like a old hag dame of piss-off-land.
Ladies – including the usuallly imbeccable Mrs. Obama (in the blue dress from the State Dinner) – the area under your arms should not buldge and roll and heave to and fro. If this is happening your dress is too tight. If you take off your dress and this is still happening, your bra is too tight. If you take off your bra and it’s STILL happening, well then you need to lift some weights. But try finding a better fitting dress and bra first.
She is beautiful, but not sexy.
She will NEVER be Stephanie Plum!
Well, she’s improving her interviews, so that’s good.
But wow, that is one of the worst looks ever. She definitely looks better as a blond, but the whole thing is just terrible!
Meh-she has looked better, glad she’s realized her daughter will google her one day and read about her diva behaviour, she seems to be trying to wise up.
onbehalf off,Cameron, kool guy buddie and kool guy himself”.we send ,A,Happie,hi,hello, how, are,ya,doing greetings -shout-outs,to,mrs,KATHRINE hEIGL,FROM,US..koool guy&his friend cammeron ..with our sincareeeee, thanks for readinnnn!bye”
The dress and the shoes aren’t that bad but the hair, makeup and jewelery are! She tries for a classic, simple and elegant look but she almost always fails!
Also…are you people serious talking about her armit? Next we’ll start criticizing women about their earlobes, toenails and elbows!
