I hate talking about dead people, I really do. Especially dead people who were really sketchy while alive. Case in point: Simon Monjack. If you thought his general sketchiness would die with him, you’re wrong. TMZ is reporting that after Simon’s death, his mom, brother and therapist came to the home Simon was sharing with Brittany Murphy’s mom Sharon, and they went through his things. When they left, they took his laptop, and when they went through it, they found Simon had been communicating with two different women about two different love children he had, one a son, one a daughter.
TMZ has learned …a laptop computer has unearthed a secret Simon Monjack carried to his death — he had two kids.
Simon’s mom, brother and therapist stayed at Simon’s home last week with Brittany Murphy’s mom, Sharon Murphy. We’re told when they left they took Simon’s laptop.
At some point they went through the computer and found emails from two women who wanted money from Simon for child support. According to people who have reviewed the emails, Simon had a son by one baby mama and a daughter by another.
Also in the computer … wire transfers of large amounts of money — as much as $48,000 in a single transfer. Simon was sending the money to lawyers, as well as someone in Europe for some sort of settlement.
We’re told Simon’s mom and brother felt the coroner should have the computer and handed it over. The coroner’s office is currently reviewing the contents.
Sharon went ballistic and filed a theft report with cops.

I know some people choose to think that Simon really loved and adored Brittany, and that his heart was broken when she died, and that was what led to his death. Bless you for your optimism. Personally, I think Simon was so very shady in life, that we’re only now getting a good glimpse of his true shadiness now, in death. It would be interesting to know the ages of these love children, and if one or both of them were conceived when he was with Brittany. I would also be interested in hearing more about Monjack’s true financial state, and if he was really as wealthy as he claimed. As for Sharon and the police report… ugh. If he had children, they are his heirs. Not his mother-in-law.
What does it matter to really know anything further? He was pitiful. I mean, look at him.
Those kids could be HIS heirs, but didn’t Brit leave everything to her MOM not SIMON?
If so, those kids aren’t entitled to any of Murphy’s money

I was amazed at the comments, including here, giving condolences at his death and saying how he “really loved Brittany”. I thought he was a money-grubbing sleazeball.

Nothing has convinced me that this guy is as horrible as the media claims. If he had children, who’s to say Brittany didn’t know about them? We do not live in their life. Why would his parents steal his computer and go to the media with its contents? Looks like they are the shady ones here. They are looking for some kind of payout in connection with his death. This couple is dead, leave them alone.
I still think he died of a broken heart. Couples who are very close or have been married for a long period of time often follow one another closely in death.
I’m with Baffled. I guess Brittany knew about these kids and they are probably not infants. I think it’s children from before Brittany and Simon.

He was shady guy, but I believe he did love Murphy. Like someone else said, who is to say ,Murphy wasn’t aware of all his secrets. Maybe, unlike some Hollywood couples, they chose to keep things in their lives private.
Not to be flippant, but seriously, if there’s ever a biopic about this guy, Rosie O’Donnell HAS GOT to play him.
I still think Britney Murphy’s mom and Simon were having an affair on the side. They seemed almost disturbingly close.

Is anyone else totally baffled as to how they were even together in the first place? I mean, look at him…He’s pretty much disgusting to say the least. How did that even happen?
What I find weird and strange is that Sharon and Simon were still living together in the same house. Also, that Sharon is freaking out over the laptop. Something seems weird to me there. Can’t put a finger on it exactly…but strange to me.
I think the fish is going to come out on this situation sooner or later.
He looked bloated and unhealthy. His ex also looked extremely anorectic, regardless of her claims that she didn’t diet or do drugs. Nobody could be that thin unless they were doing coke or some other type of drug. I guess being a stick helped her get movie roles, though. She had virtually no talent.
This doesn’t reflect anything about his devotion to his wife, IMO. Let his soul RIP.
I’m sorry but if the computer belonged to him , his family has every right to take it and his mother in law can’t do anything about it unless she is in his will.
@QB the house is in Sharon’s name, and unless they had her permission to be in the house, then she can report it as theft and trespassing possibly more if she chooses.

It is so spooky looking at pictures of the two of them. He looks so skeevy, I wonder if he conned her.

I knew Brittany for awhile, and when I knew her she did not do any drugs, didn’t even drink. A night out for us would be bowling or just hanging at the apartment. But it seems to me that Hollywood took it’s toll on her and she did indeed become addicted to pills.
I will never understand why she married this guy. It confused a lot of people that knew her. But the person I keep thinking about is her mom. You have no idea how close they were. Sharon lived for Brittany. They lived together since they moved to LA. I cannot imagine how she is suffering, still.
My theory on why she married Simon, is that he had some dirt on her. Dirt so bad that she thought if it came out it would ruin her career. There are plenty of blind items about this subject, but I guess no one will ever know.
Maybe Sharon freaked out about the laptop because there is some very juicy dirt on it concerning Brittany.
This guy is a con artist and a scumbag if you ask me. I didn’t trust him when he was alive. This is going to get a lot worse. I believe we will find out soon..

How could they take his laptop unless she let them enter the house? I mean really, did she let them in, leave them alone to roam the house and go through Simon’s possessions, and then not notice when they left the house? I agree with the posters who say: (1) he was sleazy and (2) something was up between him and the mother. It’s just not adding up, and it sure as hell ain’t kosher.

I think he was just an extremely skilled manipulator, and that’s why Brittany Murphy married him. She probably genuinely thought he loved her, loved her like no one would – I’m sure he ran all kinds of games on her.
I remember seeing a quick interview with Jaime Pressly after Brittany died where she was asked if she was friends with Brittany, and she said “Yes, but I never saw her after he (Monjack) came along.” Keeping one’s target isolated is one mark of a manipulative (or abusive) partners.
Poor Brittany. How many people are brought down in life by a manipulative mate? I bet more than we realize, even more when there’s money involved. I feel bad for her – what a waste.

and I’m sorry to say this, as I know people fall in love for reasons other than physical beauty, but these two were always one of those “why couples”. as in, WHY is she with him? seriously, that last picture reminded me of “There’s something about Mary”…
