The Jolie-Pitt kids are brats who like to pick on Shiloh

Star Magazine is reporting that Brad and Angelina’s ever-increasing roster of kids are undisciplined, poorly behaved brats who can’t keep their hands to themselves, and their favorite punching bag is little sister Shiloh. Supposedly, Star interviewed a family insider who says that all the traveling, relocating, and their hectic schedule has affected the kids, and that neither parent likes to be the disciplinarian. This alleged insider also says that Pax and Maddox fight constantly, but that Zahara is the queen bee who likes to scratch and pull hair. Apparently, Shiloh got in the middle of a kid skirmish and ended up chipping a tooth.

With four children to manage and two more on the way, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt make it seem so easy. They travel around the globe at a moment’s notice with their kids in tow, but sources reveal to Star that behind the scenes, they’re losing control of their unruly brood.

With four kids come four very different personalities, which all seem to clash. And the sibling rivalry is brutal.

Maddox, 6, is constantly pushing Pax, 4, around in an attempt to show him who’s boss, says a source. “But Pax is no wimp, and he fights back.”

But it’s little Zahara, 3, who really rules the roost! “She screams and shouts at the boys when she doesn’t get her way,” says the source. Not even Shiloh, 22 months, is safe — and the toddler has the battle scars to prove it. “Z is always pushing or scratching her.”

Zahara’s picking on Shiloh is usually motivated by snacks. “Z once clawed Shiloh’s cheek after she tried to take her cookie,” says an insider who witnessed one incident. “She’s always pulling on Shiloh’s hair so she can steal her food.”

And little Shiloh has more than her hair to worry about! Recently while Shiloh’s three older siblings roughhoused, she got knocked down and chipped a tooth! “Angie gets worried when Shi plays with them,” says the insider. “She always comes back with a scraped knee or a fat lip!”

In fact, another source says food is a problem with all the kids and blames much of their rowdiness on a poor diet. “They eat fast food, pizza, chips and sugary soft drinks,” says the source. “Brad and Angie let them eat what they want because it brings harmony to the chaotic household.” To make matters worse, the insider adds, “because bedtime is whenever the kids feel like it, they get overly tired and cranky. Brad and Angelina don’t like to be too strict.”

[From Star Magazine]

There is probably a kernel of truth to this: as a mom of four, I will be the first to admit that kids fight, and sometimes it gets physical. But I find it hard to believe that Brad and Angie would let it escalate to the point that anyone would get hurt. It would not surprise me at all to learn that the two boys get into occasional shoving matches- it’s standard operation for little boys. And I do believe that little Z is probably running the show. I love that kid! But this whole story sounds like an exaggeration to me. Where are the photos of Shiloh’s chipped tooth? Where are photos of the boys with bruises or scratches? There aren’t any, because the story is bogus.

Shiloh, Angelina and Maddox are shown at an art store in June, 2007 in the header image, thanks to WENN. The Jolie-Pitt family is shown going to the Field Museum in Chicago last August in the image below, thanks to Splash News.

there are lightweight expensive strollers. if angie is just “naturally thin” because of all her “natural” excess energy, then why does she only look like this in recent years?

  2. Kait says:

If they are really such terrors, why do they turn on the normalcy for the cameras? If those kids are beating the crap out of one another at home, why are they holding hands and walking nicely when the cameras are out?

I’m agreeing with everyone else – if there is any fighting, it’s normal sibling stuff. This story is crap.

Kids are kids, this is surprising? If a chipped tooth is the worst that ever results from roughhousing, they’re FAR luckier than most parents. I come from a huge Irish family, and my brothers and I traded broken bones more than a few times over the years – and that’s just from family rugby outings.

They sound like normal kids to me. Besides, I am always curious who these “insiders” are anyhow. I mean, if I worked for the Jolie-Pitts, or was a friend/family member, I certainly wouldn’t go blabbing to the press about how bratty the children were, or how undisciplined they are. I think this is a bunch of malarky!!!

btw, when you are calm, go to check the photos when AJ and her kids walked around the corner shop in NO. Shiloh’s knees are visibly bruised and her teeth are chipped.

But of course, we don’t believe this story. Blah blah blah

Oh my God, no, they’re…they’re, what’s the word…they’re NORMAL!

My (relatively close in age) siblings and I nearly killed each other on a weekly basis for the greater part of my very happy childhood. Bruises and gaping cuts apart, we’ve all managed to survive into adulthood with only a handful of scars to show for it. That what kids do!

anonymous – you are reading the same comments as me? I see that most people are agreeing with this as it’s standard stuff with young children.

I can believe a good bit of this story (the scary hyperactivity-inducing diet part anyway) as Graham Norton (Irish comedian and TV presenter) once spoke of being in an airport, where a toddler was running riot. The mother managed to catch him long enough to distract him with some cola. On seeing this Graham thought “Yeah that’s what he needs, caffine and sugar”. Then the skinny mom came over to say “Hi” and that she liked his show. It was only then he realised that the harrassed mom was Angie (pre Brangelina). He’s quoted as saying “it was weird” 🙂

(hoooooh my God – what’s this? an Angelina supporter who doesn’t think she’s perfect in everyway… the world is about to stop turning!!!!)

Anonymous, we’re not jumping to anyone’s defense (unless you count common sense as a physical entity). These two not only don’t get a ride, but are routinely criticized for their children displaying perfectly normal behavior.

Remember all that flak over the military themed birthday party? For crying out loud, what young boy doesn’t love playing soldier? And really, skinned knees and a chipped tooth? In a toddler? That’s unheard of! (hold for shocked gasp)

My two year old is a well behaved only child, and she routinely has bruises and scrapes. It’s called being a child, and your coordination not keeping pace with your enthusiasm.

RE the pictures in NO. There are a series of photographs – some Shiloh is being carried and then standing by her mom. You can see her knees and there are no scrapes or bruises. The next photo, Shiloh is crying and being comforted by her mom and you can see her boo-boo. She fell down. Toddlers do that. with all the photographers around if her “mean” sister pushed her, we would have heard about it.

sure kids fight, sure it’s normal. what’s not normal is doing something as complex as bringing 5 kids under the age of 5 from 5 different cultures/worlds into the home to be raised together. People may say that they’re all being raised American, but it’s not that simple. Angie has entered into something very complicated and one day the ramifications will start to show and probably take their toll on the kids, sadly. it’s hard enough to raise one child as working parents, why overload it and short the children in the process? ugh. these two aren’t normal.

I too once ran into Anglina Jolie and Maddox at Heathrow Airport ( Feb 2005) when he was an only child and when the rumors of her and Brad Pitt were starting. She was a whirlwind of motion while waiting for her flight. She had Maddox hitched onto her hip and she was all over the terminal. She was on our flight London to Phx where we had to wait an hour for baggage claim and she was whirlwind at baggage claim too, she had Maddox in a cheap little stroller and she was a strolling him all over the place. The woman does not stay still, at one point she was this close to me and after being on a cross atlantic flight she looked very pretty no makeup very tiny in person very skinny very simply dressed and she had what looked like one old grumpy woman assit with her who’s job was to look for the luggage. Maddox is very cute Asian little boy. I was impressed at what a hands on mother she was with him. and I was also impressed at the amount of energy that woman has.

d’you know something Daisy, I think you’ve hit on something there as regards her slender size. I remember a study being done on thin people who never seem to gain weight, no matter what they eat. Eventually it was found that those who maintained their lower weight were the more horrific fidgiters – so they were naturally expending more engergy than other, more sedate people.

Clever woman too, not wasting good money on a stroller that would gets dogs abuse at Heathrow 😉

Oh, please. This is what kids DO. With four children that age in a house, of course there’s going to be some roughhousing. It isn’t abuse, and it’s just like Star to make a big melodramatic deal out of it to sell more copies.

The bit about Z pulling Shiloh’s hair to steal her food cracks me up, because my family is always telling stories about an incident that happened when I was six and my sister was still crawling age. I was eating a popsicle in front of the TV, and my sister crawled up behind me, grabbed my ponytail, yanked me backwards, stole my popsicle and crawled away with it. We still laugh about it 15 years later, and I suspect that the same thing probably happened with the Brangelina kids.

answers to your quetions I am 5’2 and when she came this close to me ( holds hand out ) She really came that close to me and she looked me right in the eyes too. She was my daughters height My daugter is 5′ 5 and has a tiny built and Angelina was my daughters height but skinnier than my daughter and my daughter is tiny. Angelina has wonderful skin she was wearing no makeup clear eyes a shade of green -blue. She was in constant motion, at Heathrow and waiting in baggage claim in Phx. Certainly her life as changed so much since 2005 when she could travel with no problems , no paps and people taking out their cell phones to photograph her. At Sky HarbourAirport she was just a pretty mom strolling her child around no one bother her but they were glanceing at her when they realized it was Angelina Jolie. People were very respectful of her space and leaving her alone Not asking for autographs or pictures. Well that’s changed now.
People who maintain lower weight were the more horrific fidfiters.
I would say that is true My mother in law is a tall skinny woman ( think Olive Oil, Popeyes girfriend ) and she cannot sit still either. for an old lady she is hyper ! and the woman cleans her plate and complains that she too skinny.

I don’t think it’s a race issue as much as a size issue. Chances are pretty good that Shiloh will pick on the next set of babies, not because of their ethnicity but because she’s learned that bigger kids pick on smaller kids. Which they do.

I have no idea what the kids eat, but in terms of behavior they sound like pretty regular kids.

I’m not perpetuating a stereotype. Is it actually a stereotype that the darker kids pick on the lighter ones? I don’t think so. It is a racist attitude though that says the darker kids are less rifined than the lighter ones. I probably am reading too much into the article, it’s just the way the article was worded, it struck me as racist. If it is happening, I’m sure Shiloh gets her share in. The older kids start to know better than to kick, bite and pull hair. A very young toddler would be more likely to do these things than even Zahara.

I married into a famiy that makes a big deal about height. My husband is 6’3 his mother is also tall I am 5’2 so they talk about diffrences in height, drives me crazy so that’s why I pay attention to height.

Does everything have to be racist??? I read the article as being more like, the big kids pick on the youngest one.

Soda makes my kids act like brats, too – its like an instant reaction. And they definitely act better on a consistent schedule as opposed to too much upheaval.

At the end of the day, though, we have to give the parents the benefit of the doubt that they are trying their best. THat lifestyle wouldn’t suit me, but mine wouldn’t suit them either.

She was so sick and malnourished that she was hospitalized in NYC for a week when they brought her to the US 9 days after the adoption. Now how in the world would this child have any memories of anything other than her life with her family? This is an article from the STAR, a lying tab that had to retract last weekend’s NOLA marriage lie. Also some racism here. No pix has showed any definitively Shiloh chipped tooth, this is all just a big lie. These kids are all extremely well behaved whenever they are seen in public, in spite of cameras and paps and screaming crowds of people. How can anyone believe that the tabs know anything about this family, they keep their private life very very private.

lets see… my brothers and i hated each other when we were little…
i can list about 5 instances off the top of my head where we tried to hurt each other vengefully for no other purpose than a toy or an icecream.

    1. my younger brother pushed my middle brother off the balcony for touching his ninja turtle
    2. my middle brother stuck a broom out along a doorway as i was running after him (he had stolen my blowdryer) i tripped and broke my arm.
    3. my little brother threw a rock at me when i told him we had to go home for dinner from the park and gave me a black eye
    4. my two brothers hit eachother with a hoe and a shovel respectively when they were in their teens being grounded and doing yard work for dad
    5. i kicked my little brother in the nuts and he fell and was knocked unconcious for stealing my barbie doll.

i could probably list about 100 more instances. that is not uncommon. its called sibling rivalry and spending time with one person confined all the time does that to you.

and as a mother i will admit… i have given my toddler soda as a bribe for her to be quiet in public. that doesnt make you a bad mother. it makes you a normal one who is harrassed and stressed enough to do whatever it takes to get your kid to stop screaming and sit quietly even if it is only for 3 minutes while drinking a soda.

    there is my two cents.

ugh, all this crowing about stability annoys the piss out of me.

There is more than one way to have stability in the a child’s life and it doesn’t have to mean growing up in the same town/house all your life.

For instance, if they have the same daily routine such as when they brush their teeth, eating dinner at the same time every day with their parents, bed time stories, what time they go to day care, bedtime, etc, then that’s more stability than some of the little shits I’ve seen who rule their parents’ household doing whatever they want all hours of the day and night.

I don’t think Shiloh is in danger but I did notice that the kids eat too much junk food (you can see them carry bags of chips practically on every picture). Sugary drinks and junk food will not help their tempers, I’m surprised that Brad and Angie are not more into health food. Kids will love it if they get used to it early on.

We all dream of havig a dashing man and kids and adopting many kids. That is fine. I think Angelina is living in this dream. Unfortunately reality is not like that. This story may be forged or embellished. Star magazine is not credible but the reality is too many kids in such a short time is going to hit Brad and Angelina as soon as the Brangelina novelty wears off as it is starting to.

They have another or two on the way and their work load is increasing. I think they are in for a rude awakening next year when the babies are here and they are struggling to cope. The adopted kids have special kids and Shiloh had not time to be special when another kid joined them. She was barely born and her mother was in the process of acquiring another child. Compare Nicole Richie, charlotte church, Arguilera gusing over their babies and how they can’t stop looking at them. Angelina has never gushed about shi. She just said she was like any new born child, a blob, which is telling.

Look at the guy from Grey’s anatomy with five kids, he has lost hsi marbles. Look at Mia farrow and how her family ended up. I wish these two the best but I am not sure they appreciate what they are in for.

A little blonde baby deserves just as much care and protection as a black baby, and within the microcosm of this family she sounds a little left out. Even her own mom has publicly stated she doesn’t care for Shiloh as much. Within the world Shiloh knows (her family), she hardly seems like the privileged one.

That aside, this story sounds like bullshit – just kind of shocked by some of the reactions.

OMG you mean little kids sometimes get rough and injure themselves and other little kids?

    I had NO IDEA!!!!

LOL. What a non-story. I’d be shocked if it weren’t the case.

Regarding Zahara, I read an article a while back where she was wanting a cookie and Angelina told her that she wasn’t hungry. Since when does a parent know “better” when a child is hungry and asks for food? I almost cut off my finger, as a child, when my mom told me I didn’t need any more watermelon – yet I was still hungry. I tried to cut a tiny piece, so that she wouldn’t know, and almost sliced the first knuckle of my forefinger off! Zahara may have a faster metabolism (like I had) and may need more food – and it’s been said that Angelina rarely eats much, so how would she know how much Zahara really requires, without asking her? My mother was going on how much SHE ate – or didn’t, since she was always dieting – and wasn’t listening to her very skinny daughter’s needs.

Tmz had pic of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie youngest daughter. Did had a mark on her. In past interview Angelina did said how little Z pick on her sister. How Z yell in the baby face. Maddox was the adult acting one. Pax was the wild one and love to jump on things. So this don’t seem that off. Just saying.

Well I think it’s great that because everyone else beat the shit out of their siblings when they were little, that this story is A-0-K.

I don’t think it is. I’m not saying that because I think the kids are going to die or something, I’m saying it’s not O.K. manners-wise. These little shitheads fighting over food and being bossy sounds like all the entitled little monsters I encounter on a daily basis who demand something “for free” and don’t say “please” or “thank you”. It’s obnoxious, and it’s NOT cute.

When do the parents step in and regulate and set boundaries on what is ok, and what is inappropriate?

Oh jag, you cannot make someone else’s experience your own. Just because it happened one way for you does not mean that’s what happened there. I know in my case, my kids are forever telling me there are hungry when I know they are not. And how do I know they aren’t? When they are begging for cookies but refuse a sandwich. Hungry children eat pretty much whatever you give them. Children eating out of boredom or interest only eat the sweet stuff.

I can’t understand why some of the celebrities have so many problems with child rearing. Look at Britney Spears.

Between Pitt and Jolie, they have enough money to hire an army of nannies. At the rate they are going, they are going to need an army.

If these things are true, they are all normal. But, the report reeks of someone taking little bits of life and weaving them together into, hopefully on their part, a scandalous reveal, when it’s not actually shocking at all, and it’s not believable really beyond the idea that the children may have normal sibling interactions. If feeding kids fast food is a national story, come to my town. You’ll get plenty to report on.

As for moving the kids around, their may be downsides, such as longterm childhood relationships with those not in the traveling party. However, remember that these kids have eachother and also some stable caregivers, as well as their parents. And, these kids are getting wonderful exposure to varied cultures. Really, they don’t exactly have the worst lives. They are not neglected.

    People get your own lives.
