Okay, I’m not even going to pretend that I’m capable of covering every little detail about the ongoing Mel Gibson-Oksana Grigorieva saga. Let me just say that, as CB so aptly put it, “Oksana really pwned Mel with those tapes.” Oksana gets the last laugh, for real. No matter what you say about her being a gold-digger, a crazy Russian, a “synthetic” person (to use Mel’s poetic phrasing), Oksana now owns the situation completely. Mel is over. He’s not coming back from this, and the actual audio of all of the crazy sh-t he said to Oksana hasn’t even been released yet. Plus, there’s the added factor – beyond the racism, misogyny, and casual threats of rape and arson – is that Mel has been lying about his sobriety for the past few years, which I suspected. Drunkenly call me “sugar t-ts” once, shame on you. Drunkenly call me a “f-cking pig in heat” shame on me. At this point, whatever Oksana says, whatever claim she makes against Mel, people will believe, just because his credibility is at zero.
So Radar has some more bits about the tapes. There is one long one, apparently, where Mel goes on and on for thirty whole “demonic and insane” minutes about how horrible Oksana is, using words or phrases that even made me – someone who cusses like a sailor – a little queasy. Mel says to Oksana at various times:
* “You look like a f-cking pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n-ggers, it will be your fault.”
* “This is my last message. I might be the father… Well, f-ck you… You psycho c-nt… Because I don’t care.”
* Mel also calls Oksana a “whore” while their baby is heard screaming in the background.
* “I am going to come and burn the f-cking house down… but you will blow me first.”
* “You’re an embarrassment to me.”
* “How dare you act like such a bitch when I have been so f-cking nice.”
* “Look what you did to me… look what you are… look what every part of you is… F-cking fake… F-cking fake. You are the most synthetic person… who the f-ck are you?”
Oksana claims that she began recording his messages and their conversations after he hit her and made threats against her. Sure. I’ll buy that. Mel and Oksana’s lawyers met yesterday, likely to try to do some damage control on Mel’s part. Oksana’s lawyers “vehemently denied” leaking the tapes… do you believe her? Yeah, not so much. But it doesn’t matter at this point.
Oh, and Gloria Allred is looking for a new client in Oksana – Allred sent out this open letter to Mel that I couldn’t really get through because Allred takes an important subject (the physical and psychological subjugation of women around the world) and tries to make Mel responsible for it all. Eh.

I just read that Child Protective Services is investigating. How ironic that Oksana could lose custody of the baby she conceived as a meal ticket! I think she’s in as much trouble as Mel, if not more. He has so much money that he never has to work again, and he can out-spend and out-last her in the legal department. And I wouldn’t be shocked if Team Mel had private investigators gathering up damaging info about Oksana’s “sketchy past.” Maybe she tried to blackmail another former beau. I, too, stopped financially supporting his work after the whole drunken rant during his DUI arrest. Even back then, he was unwilling to denounce his father’s insistence that the holocaust is a hoax…seems the apple didn’t fall far in that family.

But never were such words ever spoken. If anybody out there is presently in a relationship where this level of animosity is normal, I encourage you to ask yourself some serious questions. I really hope that the people defending Mel Gibson (and regardless of your intent, if you’re equivocating as to why he would say the things he has, you ARE defending him) recognize that drunkeness make remove your inhibitions, but does not change your ideologies in such a way that you magically believe differently than you have before.
For example, when in college I would drink too much for my own good, I would do things I regretted (shamelessly hit on boys, fall down, etc) but never once did I go on a racist tirade. Say what you will about tequila, but it doesn’t make you a Klansman. These ideas were not served to him through alcoholic content, and I think it’s important for people to realize that just because this despicable language manifests itself when he is inebriated, it doesn’t mean that the root cause of them (at the very least a racial insensitivity and at the worst, severe racism) is not with him always. In the American legal system, you are held accountable for everything you do while intoxicated. It’s assumed that if you make the decision to drink, you can make the decision to stop drinking before your judgement becomes impaired. The law does not recognize or make exceptions for alcoholics because they “have a disease”. (If anything, more punitive measures are applied.)

I find it “absolutely laughable” that Oksana expects anyone to believe that she did not release information that only SHE AND HER ATTORNEYS would have access to and was told by the court NOT TO DO SO! As they say, “When you’re digging a ditch for someone else, make sure you don’t fall in it yourself”. Now, she’s in a world of trouble behind a “hot mess” that she willingly jumped into and may lose custody of her latest “meal ticket”. Oksana is not a normal woman like most of you and shouldn’t be treated like one. Most of those eastern-european women who come here to marry middle-aged men were prostitutes from a very young age back in their old country and controlled by very abusive organized crime groups with representatives here in the US. Getting married is their passport to getting into America. Most quickly abandon their husband, getting what they can from him, hooking up with their community here and moving on to whatever get-rich scheme sparks their fancy. Oksana is just one example of that. Mel is angry because, despite his efforts to provide for her and the baby, he realizes now that he was conned by her right from the start and that she’s out for the money. He could probably get full custody of his child for the right money. Many of the things he supposedly said in that phone call appear to be responses to something she said. However, we don’t know what she said because whoever released this stuff doesn’t want us to know. Oksana had the only copy of the tape and it will probably be destroyed before anyone ever hears the other side. She’s doing as much damage as possible without having to leak her part of the conversation. Notice that only the derogatory parts of his sentences is given. The wording of the remark about her getting raped, and many of the others, certainly suggests that she led him on. Has anyone even heard the actual tape with her part of the conversation? Mel needs to get help and straighten out his life.

I’ve never like Mel, esp after he did “The Passion” and ranted against the critics in the most egotistical way. Then, when he had that drunken tirade and said those anti-semitic statements, I was done w/Mel. I thought his career was over then (and it should have been).

On a more serious note. It’s interesting to note how many long term alcoholics endure so much brain damage that their personality undergoes terrible changes. The Mel Gibson of the last decade is different to the young Mel Gibson.

As for some of you saying it’s the end of his career, I doubt it.
Mel has not killed any one , given booze nor had sex with under age girls fled the county so they wouldn’t face a prison term. He is battling illness and any one battling bi polar and problems with booze should be helped.
He has to have support and help.
If we were all honest with our selves we have all said and done things we are not proud of, I mean try and get things into perspective here. People are murdered and horrific things are done every day.
I’m not saying what Mel done was OK BUT There is another side to this and that is Oksana.
She could have easily cut those tapes to make her look the innocent victim, It’s clear to me she has had a plan from day one and been planning this for some time, as I said before she is just as much to blame as Mel.
Looking at them pic’s of her she looks pretty uneasy.

Why haven’t you posted the article in the new “National Enquirer,” the one that says Oksana was stalking Robyn and Tommy and frightening them? (The story also says Robyn is willing to testify in court that Mel never hit her.) Maybe this is the reason Mel blew up at Oksana. Do we know when the argument was taped?
@Cathy T…I hope you’re right about the legal implications of Oksana’s secretly taping Mel. I’m also hoping that behind the scenes Team Mel is compiling their own evidence against Oksana which will be revealed in court. Again, I wonder how poor, broke Oksana can afford attorneys.

If what you say is true, Oksana may be sporting an “orange jumpsuit” in the near future. Furthermore, she does not know what the Gibson’s may be holding in their hand. If her past is in any way similar to what Wiley described, she probably has some very unpleasant skeletons in her closet. Times are hard, someone will “throw her under the bus” for the right amount of money. If so, I hope for the sake of her children, that the Gibsons will have enough class to “air her dirty laundry” behind closed doors in a courtroom instead of crucifying her in public. Mel Gibson doesn’t leave a lot to be desired; but what people say in the privacy of their own homes is their business as long as they aren’t committing any crimes. The place where the arguments took place more than likely belonged to Mel Gibson and if she did not like what was going on, Oksana had the option “to pack her glad rags” and “bounce” with Lucia, if she was such a nervous wreck. Better yet, she could have just left, went to the police and asked them to escort her back to the house to pack her things after she filed a police report.
Dear God, they’re both demented jerks. What an ugly mess. And to think there’s a baby in the middle of this! It’s too bad there isn’t some way we could strip both Mel and Oksana of their parental rights and give little Lucia to Robyn to raise.

It’s purely hypothetical. The scenario would never happen, but in an ideal world it is the better option for Lucia. And don’t be so sure Robyn would turn her back on that child. Lucia is the sibling of Robyn’s children. She’s family. She’s blood.
Sandra Bullock opened her heart and arms to three children from Jesse’s previous two wives. They were children in need and they were family.

To all who are saying that Oksana is a victim:
I would like to know where all the people are who are always so quick to get up in arms about invasion of privacy and civil rights. Oksana is the perpetrator. She’s the one that started the nastiness in the press. I don’t care WHAT Mel said in a private heated fight with her or why he wanted the tapes sealed or even if he paid for her silence. Not because I think he’s above the law or he’s special because he’s famous; but because she’s the one who broke a legal agreement, defied a court order (or let her source break it) – and because what Mel said is NOT the issue. His private words are his private business, even if it ain’t pretty. His comments were made to someone who is trying to hurt him (and maybe his family). He wasn’t out in public with a gun or even aiming his comments at us, but fighting with an ex-lover.
The real issue in all this is that Mel’s civil rights have been violated. If you decide that’s okay, then think about it the next time you are involved in a private conversation or argument, or worried about the privacy of your medical records or your financial agreements. Where does it end? Are you really willing to give up your rights so that women like Oksana can get MORE MONEY? If all Oksana wants is justice, she has the courts; she doesn’t need the public to be involved at all. IF Mel threatened or hit her, he will have to answer for it in a court of law; and she will have to present credible evidence. Judges don’t try cases on public opinion; it doesn’t matter if the public believes her because the judge isn’t going to ask for a poll and go with the majority vote. This isn’t an election.
If Oksana wanted to be credible then she should have kept her accusations for the court. If she really loved the father of her child and wanted to keep things respectful, she most certainly would have done so. But she didn’t, because justice is not what she is after. SHE WANTS MORE MONEY, and she is willing to annihilate another person to get what she wants. When contents of the alleged recording were made public, the judge didn’t JUST ask who leaked the info – he asked to hear the tape. I don’t know about anybody else, but that tells me the tapes were inadmissible in court and to keep Oksana from using them to muddy the waters the judge ordered them sealed. The judge didn’t listen to them or allow them to taint his mind or his decision, because they were not admissible and could not be used by Oksana in court to prove her case. Oksana either leaked or allowed the info to be leaked because she couldn’t use them to get what she wants: MORE MONEY. The funny thing is, now she will probably get even less money.
Any child of Mel’s will be more than compensated financially. He just wants to see the child. And the baby is being used as a bargaining chip by its mother. If he didn’t want to take care of the baby, then why is he out buying it diapers and baby food? Doesn’t sound like a dead-beat dad to me. Most men would have shunned this kid and not taken any responsibility for it; but Mel has evidently actually tried to be a daddy.
Finally, Oksana and Mel were never married. He is not responsible for her monetary problems; she is. When you are Oksana’s age (40) and you bring a baby into the world with someone who is not your husband and who never asked you to have his baby – then you better have a job and a way to pay for it yourself. I don’t care if he didn’t use birth control – it’s called taking responsibility for your own life instead of expecting to have your way paid for you. It seems that Mel went out of his way to come to terms with Oksana after their split – even going as far as having a legal agreement drawn up between them in the presence of two retired superior court judges. If the agreement did not meet California’s legal requirements for child support, these judges would not have approved it. If Oksana has been given the required legal amount for monthly child support and still cannot manage to take care of her child, then she should give its father full custody because he can and is obviously willing to take care of his daughter.
I’m a woman, so don’t start the whining. Oksana needs to get a job and pay her own way, instead of continually filing lawsuits against others in an effort to GET MORE MONEY.
Well, I said that in order to cover all possible bases for Robyn (presumably his kids just view him as dad, not the gravy train). Just a joke.

About Oksana’s potential legal hotwater for violating California’s wiretapping laws…I think the consequences will be limited to family court UNLESS there is solid evidence of a David Letterman type extortion attempt. Gibson wants his promised access to Lucia and wants the tapes to be destroyed. He doesn’t need a public trial centering on evidence of him at his worst. Besides, prosecutors are reluctant to charge women who make false rape or domestic violence allegations in order that real victims are not discouraged from coming forward.
Oksana’s lawyers are going to try their best to show that she was the victim of threats and intimidation. Perhaps not all of their allegations have been leaked to the press, but so far their case is pretty weak. I think we can safely assume that the leaked quotes were the worst of what Oksana taped. She compiled 30 minutes of highlights, but how many hours did she secretly record in total? Mel apparently used all the ugliest words in the English language, but the only “threat” leaked is when he said he would burn the house down. Would a reasonable person consider this to be a credible threat? Would Mel really burn down his own house? This is a man who speaks in hyperbole, who once told a journalist he wanted to kill Frank Rich’s dog and wanted Rich’s “intestines on a stick.”
Gibson’s lawyers are going to try to show that Oksana was concerned about money, not safety, because she insisted on traveling with him and because she agreed to the custody arrangement after these tapes were made. Does anyone know how easily mediated custody agreements can be modified by the court?
