Back in June, little Amanda Bynes “retired”. She announced her retirement, at the ripe old age of 24 years old, on Twitter, and she promptly got a ton of press for her announcement. Perhaps that press and attention gave Amanda second thoughts, because she has now announced that she is “unretired”. Because why just type “Actually, I don’t want to retire, I’d like to work” when you can just do cryptic tweets every few weeks? Seriously, before her “unretired” tweet, she hadn’t updated since July 10th. Bender much?
Amanda also tweeted the link to the trailer for her new film, Easy A. Amanda plays the little über-Christian girl who hates sluts. I hate to admit it, but this film doesn’t look terrible. It actually looks rather cute – and look, Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson!
So what is Amanda coming out of retirement for? Did someone offer her a good movie? Or did she just go broke in the span of a month?

Oh Yay! After that long retirement movies, tv, broadway, twitter lost their appeal for me. Now with Amanda who? back, I will once again be able to be entertained, the magic is back. Whew, that was close and such a surprise!
She’s so beautiful, but her face looks jacked up in certain places….seems way too young to be getting work done. Easy A does look somewhat interesting…hopefully she can get her career back on track.
I don’t think she’s had anything done. I think she is just a little “plump” in the face from weight gain. She has never really been a skinny girl.
I’m just curious why she is doing the retired/unretired thing. I mean, how many people know enough about her to care?
Okay. I just watched the trailer. The movie looks silly but . . . that’s EMMA STONE??? I never knew who she was. Now, I’m with everybody who says she’s a terrible choice to play Skeeter in “The Help”!! Awful choice.
My guilty pleasure is movies like this so I will probably see it. The whole retirement thing for Amanda didn’t do any good for her.

Personally I’m glad she decided not to retire from movies. Perhaphs she had to say she was back because she’s still commited to do publicity for this movie. Besides if she did generate attention for herself she did it in a much more positive way then most of these crazy kids are doing it. She’s not in rehab, jail or being peed on in a video. Way to go Amanda!!!
And I think this movie looks funny, just wish it was set in a college instead of a high school, everyones way to old to play teenagers.
Here we go again…another Hollywood girl who has ruined her looks with insecurity and plastic surgery! Amanda used to be so pretty…now, she looks like a Kardashian sister!

mslewis, I grew up with Amanda’s Nick. She was stick thin, gangly, when she was growing up. She’s never been chubby actually. She might just gain more weight in her face (like Lauren Collins on degrassi), but she might also have done something to it.
She hasn’t really been on my radar for years, but despite those crappy movies of hers, I’ve always loved her.
She looks like Dr. Phil’s wife. I find her so unappealing.

I also really loved Amanda on “What I Like About you” She’s such a good, silly, comedic actress. She makes turning into a teenager again for a couple of hours at a time acceptable. Lol. That “retirement” sure was quick, but whatever. Welcome back!
