Casey Aldridge refuses to sign prenup with Jamie Lynn

While pregnant teen actress Jamie Lynn Spears may have it easier than most teen moms-to-be in the financial department, her pregnancy has not been without stress and drama – and some of it even revolves around her money. First, there’s the fact that her older sister is a basket case and her parents are so caught up in taking care of her that poor Jamie Lynn seems to be on her own much of the time. Then there’s the father of her child, Casey Aldridge, who is pretty much a backwoods redneck who likes to pull guns on the paparazzi and bring the mother of his unborn child to barf parties. Now, as Jamie Lynn enters the final months of her pregnancy, she is attending therapy and taking parenting classes, while Casey is refusing to sign a prenup, as demanded by stage mom Lynne Spears.

As her June due date draws near, the pregnant 17-year-old is seeking the advice of a life coach near her Kentwood, La. home to deal with her difficult situation. It isn’t just an ordinary fear of childbirth, says in insider. Jamie Lynn is also afraid that the depression that seems to run in her family will overshadow her baby joy…

The pregnant teen is also losing sleep over her relationship with fiance Casey Aldridge. Though she and Casey are engaged, family friends doubt they will ever get married. “He doesn’t seem to be as committed,” the friend explained.

Another family friend added, “Casey and Jamie Lynn might not have the maturity level to get married. At this stage, it’s probably not a good idea.”

Although Jamie Lynn loves Casey, she may be having second thoughts herself. “An engagement is easier to end than a marriage,” says a pal. “Reality is setting in, and she’s freaking out.”

Does Casey want more money? Jamie Lynn is wearing Casey’s ring, but her 19-year-old fiance still hasn’t signed the prenuptial agreement- a document her parents have demanded he agree to before they can wed.

“Casey has had the prenup for a while,” says a Spears family insider. “It’s a sign there could be something wrong.”

Casey could be waiting for a bigger share of Jamie Lynn’s fortune if they divorce – or the teenager may just have cold feet about getting married.

[From In Touch Weekly print version, May 5, 2008]

The article also made a big deal out of the fact that Jamie Lynn has been spending a lot of time by herself, leaving Casey at home while she does errands and shops for the baby, but it’s more likely that the kid just doesn’t like being hounded by photographers. As for the prenup, given what happened to her sister, Jamie Lynn would be nuts to move forward on the wedding without one. She may not be worth as much as Britney yet, but she’s worked hard to earn that money and it would be a shame if this kid somehow could lay claim to it. Hopefully these issues will be resolved so she can relax and focus on the birth, but something tells me this situation is only beginning to get out of hand.

Jamie Lynn and Casey are shown on 4/4/08, thanks to Splash News.

No way should these kids be thinking about marriage. And no way in hell should she marry him with no prenup.

  2. Anna says:

I’ve said it before and I’m saying so again: she should dump that gold-digging moron right there. I bet he’s not even the father anyway.
But seriously, is anyone much surprised that he doesn’t want to sign a prenup? I think what he’d really want is to marry her before the baby arrives, with no prenup, then get a paternity test once the baby’s born and divorce her upon finding it’s not his, getting millions in the process and being rid of any responsibility. As much as I find Jamie Lynn’s baby oops silly, I think he’s the real parasitical, childish joy-rider here.
I wonder if once they have the test, they’ll lie to the public about it? I’m sorry, I’m just so convinced he isn’t the father, but that older guy there were rumours about months ago.

  3. Kolby says:

If they’re not mature enough to get married, what in the world made them think they were mature enough to raise a kid? And of course he won’t sign a pre-nup, he may be a redneck, but he isn’t an idiot. She’s his best hope for a “secure” future.

And I agree with Anna – who knows if the baby is really his – remember all those stories that were swirling around when the pregnancy was first announced?

  4. J9 says:

Her finance has no education, no career path and no prospects. Will probably be hovering around rock bottom his whole life. What’s he gonna do besides leech off her? Maybe he can Rap!

  5. Loob says:

What a bastard. He’s obviously planning to divorce her for the money later. Real subtle about that, asswipe. One would hope she sees the steaming stinky red flag.

  6. neelyo says:

Is she really worth that much? She’s the star of a basic cable kid’s show. I guess if you’re a hillbilly mechanic though, it’s enough money to keep you in moonshine and Skoal for the rest of your life.

  7. Lola Lola says:

    Run Jamie, Run!

  8. sandy says:

there is no way a 19 yr.old college drop-out who may have doubts about his fiance’s baby’s paternity is in this relationship for the long haul.
he was probably enjoying life when they were in hollywood, living off her earnings and lifestyle but now that they are back in smallville he is getting bored. wait till the little bundle that hardly sleeps and cries all the time arrives.

  9. brent says:

I’m shocked! Shocked that this guys is acting like a gold digging woman.
Turn about’s a biatch ladies. lmao!

  10. Enonymouse says:

I honestly think that if she marries that redneck Casey Aldridge guy, not only she will be financially and emotionally (maybe even physical, he looks like a future wife beater) beaten but he will also prevent her from being a great parent to her child because who knows what problems might he bring that would distracter her from giving all the attention that the child requires.

Being a single mother would be better for her and the child.

  11. OXA says:

SOME KINDA CUSTODY AGREEMENT IS GONNA FORCE HER TO PAY THIS LOSER WETHER SHE MARRIES HIM OR NOT. HE IS ALREADY SET, HE DOES NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING, IF SHE MARRRIES HIM IT WILL BE MORE AGGRAVATION AND MORE MONEY.

  12. Enonymouse says:

The gold digger phrase is not just reserved for women you know but for men too, so it is not that shocking.

  13. headache says:

Oxa, she will only have to pay him if he has full custody.

  14. velvet elvis says:

I’m surprised that Jamie Lynn is even still pregnant. I figured that she would have “fallen down the stairs” and lost the baby or something by now.

  15. Ibrahim says:

He’s smart in a good cents. Get it – good cents?

  16. Sasha says:

The boy wants some $$$ if things go south and Jamie Lynn flips out like her sister.

  17. Larissa says:

    Is he a bastard?

how unfortunate for Jamie, maybe she will learn a lesson there and just stop being sutpid like her stupid sister!

  18. Scott F. says:

You know – I find the automatic assumption that someone who lives in the south, speaks with a deep accent, and doesn’t have a college education is somehow a wife-beating, abusive, alcoholic asshole to be pretty fucking offensive.

How does one ‘look like a wifebeater’ exactly? Is he sporting a black cape and handlebar mustache to let us all know he’s the bad guy? No, it’s because he wears trucker hats and speaks differently than you. I guess that’s a valid assumption – because no one outside of the south beats their wife right? I mean, it’s not like theres another Hollywood actor arrested every week for domestic battery, right? (end sarcasm)

Seriously, this is no less offensive than people from the south assuming that everyone from California is a either transsexual, homosexual, or a drug addict. Just because you’re from a more ‘civilized’ part of the country, and most rednecks are white, it doesn’t make you any less a bigot for judging someone based on where they were born.

  19. iheartlasagne says:

Thank you, Scott F. Seriously, people need to get a handle on themselves sometimes.

  20. Cici says:

scott f., i agree but in the defense of most of these posters, it seems people have come up with the generalization mostly out of “guilt by association” with the spears family. not one of them has really shown much by the way of high standards for their mates.

  21. Because I say So says:

They’re both rednecks. End of story. 😆

  22. Scott F. says:

Cici – I’ll give you that whole ‘guilt by association’ thing – to a point. K-fed is a lot of things: a douche, a poser, a moron, ect. But I don’t think anyone has ever accused him of beating his wife.

That’s an assumption that’s being made because Casey’s a ‘redneck’. He has no history of violent crimes, there haven’t been any accusations, it’s only coming up because he’s from the south.

That’s all I was trying to say.

  23. Enonymouse says:

Relax Scott F. I did not generalize all of the Southern people to being violent, it was just an presumption that I had on that Casey Aldridge guy due to his poor attitude and actions so far.

  24. iheartlasagne says:

Yup, they all surely suck, but still…we’re not all rednecks with pickups and trailers, ya’ll!

  25. elle says:

wow they just need to take one step at a time, and not worry about that because she needs to take care of herself being pregnant and all this stress is just going to cause complications! im here for ya jamie! hope all gets well soon with the family

  26. Cindy Kennedy says:

Some people don’t like pre-nups at all, for various reasons; it does not always mean they are a gold digger.

  27. mamalicious says:

I wonder if Jamie Lynn’s life coach has found any correlation between her and her sister being attracted to leeches with no futures. Surely there has to be a cause at the root of all this. Hey, maybe that’s why Britney ended up cheating on Justin – because he didn’t have to be a leech and he had a future. And maybe that’s why she dumped K-fed when he started rapping – because she thought he was getting into a career (sort of). Dun dun duuuun!!!!!!

  28. brain_freid says:

ive heard from a very reliable source that casey has been paied off already by jamies managment to pretend to be the father..the baby is some other guys..

  29. cc says:

Cindy, if you are in it for the long haul, then what is the big deal about a prenup?

As far as the redneck issues on this site, thank you Scott F.

  30. Rio says:

I’m pretty sick of the Southern generalizations myself– my family lives in Georgia, I’m currently moving there from NYC, and if I have to hear ONE MORE New Yorker ask me in a snot-nosed voice, “Why are you moving THERE?”, I’m gonna…well, I was thinking of looking at them, saying “extradition” and leaving it at that. Someone just asked my parents “Do they still have slaves down there?” I mean, really!

That being said, the Spears clan ARE pretty damn trashy, and Casey reminds me of every Spring Break fratboy I’ve ever come across.

  31. Angel says:

    Scott F. and Rio:
I’m adding my voice to yours–as a woman who happens to have been born and raised in Louisiana, I too find the blanket generalizations that all Southerners are brainless to be tiresome and predictable.

I know it’s difficult to believe that there actually are people down here who are intelligent, ambitious, and possess self-respect, but it’s true! We are rare, but we exist!

That being said, have a nice day, Y’all!! XD

  32. Bodhi says:

Hear hear! I’m a Southerner too, born & raised. Both of my parents have Ph.Ds & I’m on my way to getting a Masters. My dad is from a teeny town outside Charleston SC & was the first in his family to ever go to college. That man has never raised his hand to the dog, much less me or my mom.

There are ignoarant assholes everywhere, which is pretty much proven by the comments on this thread…

  33. HPT says:

He has them by the short hairs. They HAVE to let them marry, otherwise the 40-something real father of her baby will be outed.
If she puts Casey on the birth certificate and they’re married, unless the real father challenges it. Otherwise, a little bit of evidence and the state can step in and force a DNA test to determine if it was, indeed, statutory rape. Which it was.
And once the exec is outed, there goes her career.

But Casey will demand a DNA test when they divorce, anyway.

  34. Monalicious says:

I’m a mom to a 17-year-old young man who happens to be a very proud “Redneck”. We live in Texas, and he has an Southern accent so thick you can cut it with a knife. Most of the time, his “Country boy charm” is the first thing people notice. And when they get to know him, and what an old-fashioned gentleman he is, I hear what a delight he is. I much rather him a hard working, honest, simple man, than a fancy a##hole.

  35. poopie says:

RE: is he a redneck discussion : THEY BOTH LIVE IN LOUISIANA; that’s BAD enough. any questions?

  36. bros says:

yah im torn on the redneck issue. my dad is from louisiana, and i have relatives in the rest of the state, in Mississippi and in Texas. and for the most part, I would say (with the exception of my dad and a few other family members) that the rest are rednecks, even though they are well-off. most of the south has redneck tendencies, but it doesnt make them all evil or mean they lack an education.

but this is another one of those arguments reserved for the know-it-all enonoymouse.

  37. geronimo says:

Could I add a European perspective to the Redneck issue please. A Redneck in my book has zero to do with where a person comes from. What qualifies a person as a redneck is a bigoted, sexist, usually ignorant viewpoint as the direct result of a poor education and a tiny – both geographical and intellectual – frame of reference.

And, using that criteria, they come from everywhere.

  38. Enonymouse says:

Well Bros, the only reason there was an argument in the first place was because for some reason Scott F took what I said about the Casey guy too personal and started being all defensive and then other posters started jumping in. As I said before, I did not generalized that all Southerners were redneck or violent.

geronimo, that is what I meant too.

  39. headache says:

Geronimo, that is actually a hick. hehe At least to me. A redneck in my book, is a nascar watching, hunting, big truck driving, tractor pull attending, different type of class than others. But like I said, that may just be me.

  40. Scott F. says:

Geronimo – It’s that assumption that I have a problem with. I’m not even from the South – I was born not far outside of Oakland California. But my wife and her family are all from the South, and I can honestly say that I’ve never known a nicer, more hospitable, non-judgemental people in my life.

Redneck is not a derogatory term to these people. Do you really think their entire culture would go around sporting ‘you might be a redneck’ crap if the word meant that they were a biggoted, intolerant, sexist, prick?

It’s more like what headache described – you drink beer from a can, probably have a favorite hunting dog, drive a 300 dollar pickup with 4000 dollar monster truck tires, ect.

Bottom line – this kid hasn’t given anyone any reason to believe he’s violent or ignorant or any of those things. Those are assumptions you’re making because of where he’s from, how he looks, and how he speaks.

  41. geronimo says:

Go read this, headache! It doesn’t answer the question but it’s damn funny! Sample:

“You’re a redneck if you’ve been married three times and still have the same in-laws.”

    http://www.fortogden.com/foredneck.html

  42. geronimo says:

Scott, to be fair, you seem to take issue with nearly everything! Kindly do not accuse me of making assumptions about the kid in question. My post had nothing to do with him, it was in response to the use of the word and how people perceive it. This one-man war you’re waging against everyone and everything is getting old.

I take your point on it being an affectionate term in some quarters but outside of America, I think that’s how the term ‘Redneck’ is perceived. Wrongly or rightly.

  43. bros says:

thank you geronimo. the one man war is getting old!

  44. headache says:

Jeff Foxworthy, the unofficial expert in redneckology, defines redneck as “a glorious lack of sophistication.”

You could put up all the sites and quotes you want on rednecks and chances are I’ve heard them and none of them mention any sort of racism despite the overwhelming presence, at least to a black northerner, of the confederate flag favored by the KKK.

I may not agree with the waving of that horrid flag, the accent might grate, and I’ll never get used to chewing tobacco nor will I ever understand the appeal of watching some fools race round and round in a circle . . .

But I have never come across people more genuinely sweet, kind and respectful even if they don’t like you or even know you, than Southerners.

When we moved down here, some dude in a car was gesturing to us on a major interstate. Having never left the northern eastern seaboard before this, we thought dude and his crazy wife must be fruits and/or cons. But no, they simply wanted us to know that our rear passenger tire was extremely low. The last time someone did that in New York, it ended in a car jacking.

Rednecks: Lacking in sophistication, overflowing with kindness and hospitality.

  45. Lili says:

Teen pregnancy is never a good idea, but I have a lot of respect for Jamie Lynn’s handling of this situation. She seems like a smart girl who forgot herself, but she has accepted the consequences. It’s great that she’s attending therapy and parenting classes, but tragic that she’s doing so alone. If I were Jamie Lynn, I’d tell this deadbeat where to stick the engagement ring. She’s a beautiful, pragmatic, mature, and determined young woman who could do SO much better than that “Deliverance” reject (no offense to the majority of Southerners–I’m one, too!). That must be how Jeff Foxworthy gets his jokes: he follows Casey Aldridge and writes down everything he does!

  46. geronimo says:

headache, I never said racist. But I’ll withdraw bigoted and replace it with having a limited world view.

But, after reading the stuff on that site, I agree pretty much with your earlier definition of redneck which I really don;t think is too different from mine. I think the quotes btw on that site are funny and very affectionate and not in the least offensive. If anything, they celebrate it.

  47. Brittany says:

Redneck, gold digger, whatever you want to call him he is still, currently, the love in Jamie-Lynn’s life and nobody should JUDGE him! What if YOUR 19 year old son was in this position? You don’t think that your kid would do the same thing? Give them a break. Maybe he is not ready for marriage, who really is when they finally do get married?
REDNECK- you know we as people can’t help where we are born or to whom! Just because someone lives in Arkansa, louisianna, nebraska, iowa Whereever, EVERYONE has done something that someone else may consider redneck! Only God Can Judge Me and if being redneck is such a bad thing them you people need to look in the mirror and see what kind of redneck things you Do:!: It’s all in how you were raised!

  48. Eileen says:

Jamie Lynn should put the baby up for adoption to a stable married couple. If she tries to raise a child at age 16, she is going to ruin the kid’s future. She will also ruin her own future and career. She should dump that loser boyfriend, as he does not seem committed and may not even be the father.

  49. Enonymouse says:

Eileen I agree with you with the loser boyfriend but there is no need what so ever for her to put the child for adoption. She has enough money to secure the child’s future and just because a couple is married does not mean that they would be better parents then her or more ‘stable’. Who knows although she is still extremely young
to have a child, in the end she might turn out to be a very good mom.

  50. Lilly says:

well i heard that jamie Lynn spears is having a second baby. But Casey only wants to stay with Jamie if its a boy
