True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten is the wet t-shirt cover boy for the November issue of Men’s Health. In the interview, Australian hottie Kwanten, 33, brags that he’s showed up to triathlons drunk and done “very well.” Sometimes I exercise hung over and I invariably feel like crap so I can’t imagine running, biking and swimming for a few hours in that condition. The worst I’ve done is try and get through an hour spinning class after a hard night out and not try to fake like I’m doing the work. I still end up faking it.
True Blood star Ryan Kwanten isn’t shirtless on the cover of the new issue of Men’s Health, but he does wear a wet T-shirt. In the interview he shares his thoughts on working out, something he does every day, sometimes for as long as 2.5 hours.
He has an unusual drinking habit: He’ll toss back a few, start to feel bold and then sign up for an organized athletic competition: “I’ve been known to turn up drunk at triathlons and do very well.”
On his ability to bounce back: “I have that sporting background where I want to be the best, I want to be the champion. If I’m knocked down, you’re damn sure I’m getting back up again. A lot of actors who may very well be more talented than me don’t have that kind of tenacity in the face of rejection. That resilience gives me a distinct advantage.”
On working out: “I’m not one of those actors who gets physically fit for a role and then loses it all again. I’m very rarely in the gym. My workouts are predominantly outside, in nature.”
On yoga: “I used to laugh at anyone suggesting it. Guys fear not being the best in these classes, but over time, you learn how to spend an hour not worrying about what anyone else is thinking. For guys especially, that’s a good thing.”

See I can’t relate to that nature exercise thing either and prefer to go to the gym where other people are around and I don’t have to worry about making my way back to civilization after pushing my body to the limits. Plus I feel like an ass when I run outside, but that’s just me and my issues. I guess I don’t have the fortitude to do triathlons wasted and run on outdoor trails for hours.
Men’s Health has an earlier article with Ryan where he gives fitness tips. The guy pretty much works out all day. No wonder he can drink so much and still stay ripped. The hot bastard.

He could do me drunk. No problems.
Don’t judge me but I’ve run on the treadmill drunk before and it was pretty fun. It’s kinda like playing sports when you’re drunk-also incredibly fun.
I’ve probably already said too much….
@C/B running outside is the best! Have you tried and just didn’t like it or are you just worried you won’t like it? It’s so much more stimulating (less boring) than the treadmill and just a lot more exhilarating. You should give it a shot!
@Kitten – I just feel like a loser when I run outside, like people are watching me and I look lame. As I wrote I know it’s my own issue but it’s still there!
@C/B-I know how you feel especially if you are in a city (I used to worry about people laughing at me too) but trust me, NOBODY is judging. The people driving around are focusing on driving and other runners are focusing on running etc.
On a nice day you should give it another shot! Time goes by so much faster when you run outdoors.
CB-the people that see you out running are thinking to themselves “that’s what I should be doing”! LOL.
i’m surprised his cover missed the mark on sexy. that shot isn’t his hottest…& ryan’s a pretty sexy guy.
charlie hunnam’s november cover was a hard act to follow though. 🙂
@RHONY-I would take Hunnam over Ryan any day but I wish they had made him shave for that photo shoot. Anyway, Ryan is really cute too and in great shape AND Australian (love the Aussies) but he is short I think right? Or maybe everyone just seems short compared to Skarsgaard?
@ kitten
they’re all the same height in bed. *devil horns* 🙂
I run outside all year round, rain or snow or shine with a group of different size/shape people. Everyone does their own speed and meets up at the end. Hate the gym, I feel like more people are staring you down inside. Plus there are all of those damn mirrors so people can watch you in those too. plus they are smelly.
I’ve been at the gym loads of times after happy hour. It actually helps me not get as hung over…
I think CB would like trail running. I have the same “looking at me issue” and I started trail running. It’s easier on the shins and knees too. JMHO
CB I am the slowest runner ever (but I can run for a long time ) the other day some old man passed me I swear he was 70 but I prefer running outside to the gym sooo much especially this time of year. Go for it.
Who hasn’t?
Seriously, I like this guy.
@CB: Believe it or not, I like to watch people run. There’s a little part of me that feels slightly envious though. I used to be in track in middle school and high school and used to be pretty good, but ever since I had some serious surgery two years ago, if I try to run, my left leg goes out on me and I’ll collapse. The crappy thing about it is the docs can’t do anything about it. So try to not feel like a loser if people are staring at you while you run. They may just be admiring that you can do something they can’t. 🙂
he’s nothing like his character if you see his interviews, which isn’t a bad thing. But his character Jason is so adorable, and they make sure to use his body every chance they can. Its really nice to look at.
Drugs Isotretinoin (Roaccutane or Accutane) are used to treat acne in more severe cases. These drugs are usually dry throughout the skin, but is most effective to remove acne. This is a very effective drug for acne, but REQUIRED to be monitored very closely by a doctor because it may cause side effects can be serious.
I think i have this issue : )
