Denise Richards has been nothing but gracious in the face of Charlie’s latest hookers and blow meltdown. She’s merely responded that it’s a private matter, that she’s focusing on keeping life normal for her young daughters, and she’s achieved a peaceful coparenting relationship with Charlie. The guy makes a better ex than a husband, especially when you read Denise’s divorce declaration on The Smoking Gun and compare it to details from his Christmas day abuse of his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller. Charlie has an MO in a committed relationship that involves getting physical and threatening to kill any woman that gets in the way of his hookers and blow.
So it’s surprising to hear that not only has Denise taken the high road with the press, she’s turned down over a million dollars to dish the dirt on what really happened with Charlie. (Which again you can pretty much read on the Smoking Gun anyway.) I remember when she went on Oprah in January after Charlie had that abusive incident with Brooke. We were all hoping she was going to talk smack about Charlie, but she didn’t and just said that he pushed and shoved her. She seemed concerned with ensuring that she didn’t make her daughters’ father out to be the bad guy we already know he is.

Denise Richards, who found herself in the middle of a pre-planned press tour before her ex-husband made headlines with his behavior in a NYC hotel, is once again taking the high road. Rejecting offers of over $1,000,000 to sit down and tell all about what happened the night.
“Denise saw everything,” a Richards insider tells me. “Not only did she witness everything that happened that night at the restaurant, hotel and hospital, over the past few years she has seen everything yet refuses to kiss and tell.”
It’s true that the mother of Charlie’s two adorable girls has remained a constant in his troubled life, if only to make sure they know who their father is. However, being that close to Charlie has meant that very little has occurred that Denise doesn’t know about.
And knowledge is power, or profits in this case. Even so, Denise is turning down invites left and right.
“She has turned down Oprah and lots of other media offers that want her to reveal the truth,” an insider tells me. “Since the day they divorced, hundreds of offers have been rejected. It wasn’t her style then and it’s not her style now.”
One thing is sure, no matter what happened that night at The Plaza Hotel, Denise will never reveal. And not because she is trying to protect Charlie, she’s protecting her children.

It’s not really accurate that she turned down Oprah, but she may have refused to get into the nitty gritty of what happened with Charlie. I give Denise a lot of credit for not only being so discreet about her experience with Charlie, but also making it seem like it was her own idea. Maybe it was and she’s only being a good protective mom. I still think she got handed a pretty detailed gag order from Charlie as part of whatever settlement she received. She’s probably protecting her money as well, and I can’t blame her for that.

I can’t really give her credit for anything. Her reputation both past and present isn’t exactly golden (golddigger perhaps, but not golden). My guess is that Charlie paid her off to keep her trap shut to the media.
I got my comments booted off another website for merely pointing out the RUMORS at the time of the Heidi Fleiss Hollywood Madame investigation that led to her imprisionment, that Denise was one of Heidi’s girls, and therefore needs to remember her roots. My comment was removed. Not Moderated. Removed. CBS seems to be more profitable to Denise than anything she can get from the outside on her own.
She must get a cut of his income. I think that she is a good mother at least. I know that when all the stuff went down with Brooke she made sure she got full custody and only allows him supervised visits. For that alone she deserves a medal.
At least she’s a good mother. Believe me I know bad. When I was 13 my mother took me for a drive and showed me the motel my father was having his affair in. I honestly did not know what to say, or what she expected from me. Mothers who protect their children deserve praise.
I guess the reality of her show will be that she’s making money through the promotion of her ex-husband’s television show by exploiting her own children on television. It is what is known in Hollywood as Moving Up the Corporate Ladder. She still has to parent his children. She is doing that, because the father of FOUR children is acting like a major ass to everyone who ever tried to love him. And his kids will love him if he turns his life around.

I have nothing against Denise but something about this tells me she wanted this story out as “see I’m really a wonderful gal and you’ll love my new show”. Maybe I’m just too much of a skeptic.

Denise Richards is a piece of work who made some horrible, unfounded accusations involving their daughters against Charlie Sheen in their divorce drama, and I think she’s a no-talent gold digger who didn’t take the money to spill the beans either because it wasn’t enough money to piss Charlie off for, or Charlie offered more money.
I think that she has remained pretty classy about all of these situations. Charlie Sheen is a piece of sh*t who doesn’t deserve his beautiful children, his fame, or his fortune.
I’ve never been a fan, but I do respect her for staying quiet for the sake of her girls. It serves no purpose to trash the other parent in the media. The revenge may feel good, but it only hurts the kids. Having your mother constantly trashing your father is no way to grow up, so good for her for not putting her children through that.

Strong lady, good mom. Dishing the dirt would harm her children, and could violate the terms of the divorce settlement (?). I saw the CNN interview and she refused to answer questions specific to the event. Also, if there was/is a criminal investigation, she would have been cautioned by the police not to discuss matters with the press.
Of course, sooner or later the girls are going to realize what a monster their father is. However, they should be blithely unaware for the time being.

If I was Denise I’d keep my trap shut too. Didn’t Charlie allegedly shoot Kelly Preston? Apparently, it was reported as “just an accident.” With Brooke, it was a knife, so he does have a history of violence.

I don’t know. I see something more than money in her eyes when she refuses to talk about him. I think her motivation goes deeper than money and somewhere different than concern for her kids.
I read those divorce papers years ago on Smoking Gun and have been on team Denise ever since. He’s scum.

OF COURSE she turned down $1M to tell all. That’s peanuts compared to what Charlie is giving her now PLUS, when he finally goes to that golden drug den in the sky (and it will happen sooner rather than later), Denise and her girls will probably get most of the money!! So, yeah Denise, play your part well because, in the end you won’t have to worry about your career being over.
She’s been at war with Charlie before and aside from the money she probably doesn’t want to voluntarily start that up again.
She can always go back to tricking if things get tight.

My gut reaction is that he pays her a lot more to be quiet than the media was willing to pay her to talk. Plus she still gets the publicity, and gets to play the protective mother role for the public. It’s win-win for her.
Not that it’s 100% a bad thing – her trashing him publicly would be really damaging for their daughters, so regardless of her motives, I think this is the best thing for them.
I hope a good chunk of her money is set aside for the girls’ future therapy, they’re going to need it.
#5 – Actually I believe he has five kids. He has a daughter who is in her 20s, which makes this even sadder when you consider that he hasn’t just had 6 years to get his act together for the sake of his kids, but about 25 years.

I have a negative opinion of anyone who marries Charlie Sheen. Come on — we’ve known what a d!ck he was ever since the Heidi Fleiss trial (which was well before Denise married him). BUT, I do have to hand it to Denise here — no matter how horrible the guy is, if he is the father of your children, you shouldn’t bad mouth him in public. She is doing the right thing and it really doesn’t matter what her reasons are, IMO.
It’s a long standing rumor that denise richards was a hooker back before her actress days. supposedly there are a few other actresses who got their start from answering a call from a heavy weight producer…and no i’ve never seen the evidence, just heard the rumor.
Since she does not want to do a interview, could that mean she is writing a tell all book about her marriage to Charlie? I always got the impression that Denise has some major dirt on Charlie and is keeping it under wraps until the right time

Eh, she’s made missteps here and there but ultimately has taken the high road. As for refusing the $1M offer to spill, she really doesn’t need the money.
I remember hearing that she gets a cut of 2.5men, which has been the highest rated show forever (not sure about current status). CS made sure his prenup was better (for him) when he married Brooke, and she gets nowhere near DR’s amount.

Funny, Denise didn’t seem so praiseworthy as a parent a few years ago. Neither one of them seems to be cut out for it.
the funniest part is before Brooke everyone hated on Denise saying she was a golddigger and she’s the reason the marriage didn’t work – now that history repeated itself either people are too dumb or don’t want to believe the reality of the situation and aknowledge that Charlie is one messed up human being who makes the same mistakes over and over. So instead of glorifying him and putting down the women involved, take a long hard look because the evidence doesnt lie!
I think Denise and Martin have remained very close and I think they both want what is best for Charlie for the sake of the girls. I know that is how I feel about my ex, despite what he has done to me in the past. It seems she is taking the necessary steps to protect the girls from him physically and emotionally by never leaving them alone with him. Yes he is a douche, but he is also a father and a son. Remember what a douche RDJ was before he finally kicked the drugs?
