Admittedly, I have little knowledge of Dancing with the Stars. In fact, all I know I gleaned from the 3 hours I watched in the past 2 days. But seriously, Bristol Palin should have gone home.
Instead, former NFL Super Bowl MVP with seven kids Kurt Warner did the Dance of Shame and was sent packing.
Warner isn’t in the same league as Jennifer Grey and Brandy as far as musicality and he doesn’t have the charisma of Kyle Massey. In fact, everyone pretty much knew either Kurt or Bristol was going home last night. Of the two, Bristol looked the most uncomfortable during her dance. Kurt was consistent throughout his dance, while Bristol looked self-conscious at times, as if she realized she looked silly. That’s not a dis — I’m self-conscious like that. But watch Brandi’s commitment to emotion throughout her dances: she doesn’t feel silly and therefore looks great.
I don’t feel like recapping what the judges said about Kurt or Bristol, but suffice to say, Bristol was in last place after the judges’ votes. Therefore she must have received more popular votes from viewers to keep her on the show. How is this possible? One theory: the Tea Partiers are helping Bristol like they helped the Republicans win back control of the House of Representatives.
I think the final two will be Brandy and Jennifer, deservedly so, but I also suspect the popular votes will keep Bristol around at least another week and Kyle will go home next week, which is a shame, because he did a great job with the Insta-Dance jive and he has a great attitude and personality.
In other news, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who said bullying helped him become a success, continued being a bit of a douche-bag by screwing up his apology to the fans and contestants for bitching at Carrie Ann Inaba the night before. Maksim said he was going back to being cool, but then told Carrie-Ann, “Let’s do our jobs.” Host Tom Bergeron quipped, “So being cool lasted 12 seconds.”
The semi-finals of Dancing with the Stars airs Monday on ABC.
NOTE BY KAISER: Also interesting – Page Six has a story today about how Bristol and her dancing partner Mark Ballas are probably boning. Fascinating.
She and her mother scare the living sh– out of me.
With all the exercise she gets dancing and running around giving speeches, I figured she’d be a bit more fit that what she portrays. Me thinks she’s a secret midnite bonbon eater. Shhh. Me too. Oh yeah, and I really, really, really dislike her.
Bristol and her mother are no better than Speidi, the Kardashians, or the Hiltons. They’ll do anything to stay in the spotlight and to get money. It’s really sickening.
They bitch about people doing certain stuff, while doing it themselves. Hypocrites.
Will someone please inform this nice young naive, homeless naive, person that she is now a mother. That is all.
I think Mark Ballas has probably boned nearly all his dancing partners. He seems to have a thing for the chubby girls.
December, could not agree more! Total famewhores. Who pretend they have something substantial to contribute. Ugh!
She should have gone home the first night. The only thing keeping her there is Mommy..they both need to go back to Alaska and stay there.
Well obviously ppl arent voting based on dancing skills…..she has none! Never will. Either you got it or you dont.
WOW at all of the hate!!! I think she’s a pretty girl and apparently people WANT to see her on DWTS…so no hate from me. Go Bristol, Brandi, and Jennifer!
Mark is constantly groping her and making excuses for her suckiness. It actually makes me a little uncomfortable. It doesn’t help that I don’t care for her at. all. (she’s NOT a celebrity! and she can’t dance! and how can a teenaged single-mother be a spokesperson for abstinence? ahhh!)
So anyway, I think he wants to bone her but she’s not feelin’ it.
I just started watching DWTS this season and I wish there was a way to vote AGAINST someone. I would love that.
She really should’ve been voted off a while ago. It’s obvious that it has to be lunatic Sarah Palin fans who are voting for her each week. And I agree with those who say it looks like she’s GAINED weight on the show.
She comes off as sort of a nice girl, but I don’t think she belongs on this show, and I think in future years her career of giving speeches on how to avoid getting pregnant like she did is going to be confusing to her son.
I’m with Flourpot on this one: I am fascinated by the fact that all of this dancing hasn’t trimmed her down any. During Kelly Osbourne’s stint on DWTS, it was apparent each week that the exercise was having an effect on her body. Not that it matters, really. Just an observation.
Kyle cannot go home!!!!!!!
I think Bristol Palin knows she’s a mother. From what I gather, her child is in LA with her. Maybe someone ought to remind the childs father of his responsibilities because from what I can see, Bristol is the only parent earing any sort of income.
It’s not her fault if people call in and vote for her. And DWTS is loving the ratings from keeping her around even though she’s a bad dancer.
As for her and her mom making money. Seems that the media and others make a big deal out of these two. If they would truly ignore them, they’d go away. But they don’t. Sarah Palin gives a speech, 10 factcheckers review every word. She appears on TV, articles are written about her. I ignore things I don’t like and care about. I can’t see why the media refuses to do it too for such a nobody.
Maybe when this is over and she gets the boot, she can go speaking to schoolchildren about ‘abstaining’ from dancing, too.
She definitely should have been gone weeks ago. She has no rhythm. Although this was her best week. But still far below everyone else. There are always rumors that Mark’s boinking his partner. Usually there are rumors with Derek Hough, too, but I guess since Jennifer Grey is old enough to be his mom, she gets a pass.
Her mother should quit interferring in everything – is nothing safe from the Palins.
And Bristol is so proud of doing everything on her own (maybe her Mom should clue her in).
Oh @flourpot you are right on!
I think she’s still in there because of the Republican/Tea Party loyalty vote. She has improved but not to the degree that she should still be in the competition according to ability. There’s nothing wrong for her to get the popularity vote from the Tea Party since what they are doing is perfectly legal. However, I think we should all join in with the Tea Party game and vote for her so she takes home the mirror ball trophy. That way it will make her look really silly to have won that way.
About her weight. She may just be bigger boned like some of us. I think Kelly O was just eating poorly and not taking care of herself so when she started dancing she turned herself around and that’s why she lost so much weight. Bristol seems more fit to me but don’t think she will be a weight loser like most.
It is amazing how she seems to be getting pudgier instead of fitter.
I don’t like her mom, partly for the position she put Briston in, guaranteeing that she would become the world’s most notorious unwed teen mom. But I have to say that I have never seen Bristol smile genuine smiles until the DWTS run. So, let the poor kid have a little enjoyment for once!
Hell if I were Bristol I would be boning Mark too..
@ # 20 kelbear not to be insulting whatsoever but unless you are 7 feet tall your bones aren’t “bigger”. being a big girl myself I can say it’s due to good hand-mouth coordination. Plus hell, she may have not lost all that baby weight, heard it’s a bitch!
In Bristol’s shoes, I would find it embarrassing to still be on the show with better dancers being sent home week after week. Her “dancing” is so painful to watch that I have to FF through most of her performances. She has to be truly deluded to think that she has the talent (not to mention credentials) to be on that show.
@April- kind of like when Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize after being in office for 2 months.
Tammy – that’s a fair point.
I agree that she’s not the best, but it’s a show where the audience votes for the winner, if you think all the people who were vote off before her were better, should have voted more.
And the weight thing is just petty and something people are using just because they dislike her b/c either her mother or they really care that much about DWTS.
@ str8shooter – LMAO
Nooooo!!! Not Kurt Warner!
At my house we call her dancing “Doing The Brisket.” That said, I don’t have any hate on her. She seems like a perfectly nice girl who is very shy and awkward and people keep voting for her, so evdiently they want to see her. End of story. And everybody is always screwing each other on DWTS. It’s tabloid fodder from back in the 2nd season when Drew Lachey was supposedly boning Cheryl Burke. I’d screw Mark Balas, so if Bris gets the chance, I say “Take it!”
No offense, but Bristol is not better than Kurt. As for her weight, IMHO she looks fine.
On another subject, I am stunned that Jennifer Gray is 50 yrs old, she looks more like 35-40, if that.
I’ve heard a horrible DWTS rumor. Apparently, LeAnn Rimes is going to be on a future season and is preparing with Benji Schwimmer by taking ballroom lessons the past year. Think it’s true? I’d rather see Brandi Glanville on the show!
@DKO
I bet they’d love to get both LeAnn AND Brandi! And Eddie too 🙂
No, Tammy, not a fair point. You don’t have to find a witty response just to defend your political position. No one is attacking it. Bristol Palin is a contestant on Dancing With the Stars, and you choose to compare her situation to that of President Obama? Weirdo.
Bristol Palin is neither a “star” nor a politician. Voting for Bristol Palin on DWTS because you love the Tea Party makes no sense. It just discredits the spirit of the show and ruins it for people, as evidenced by the above comments.
so the athletes are gone and bristol palin is still around, i dont get it.
@Pirouette Thanks for calling me a weirdo. Talk to the hand……….
Bristol Palin should hve been voted off long ago her dancing sucks, but her mother’s Tea Partiers have decided to use DWTS show as a test pilot for her mother presidential bid in 2012, test voters strength. If Bristol wins that might be the end of DWTS, real stars might boycott the show. Like everything else, Sarah Palin & and Bristol Palin kills everthing they touch.
@Tammy, I’m also having trouble figuring out how one could reasonably bring President Obama into this discussion. Do you think that it is only his supporters who believe that Bristol is way out of her league on DWTS?
I’d type more but my eyes are stuck in the back of my head from rolling them at the crap responses and personal attacks to this post.
@greenginger I was being sarcastic, in the ideal world the best dancer would win on DWTS, not the most popular, and the person who did the most for world peace would win the Nobel Peace Prize, not the most popular.
Bristol Palin is still on because she is popular with the Tea Party crowd, but she has not merited a win because of her ability. President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize because he was popular, in 2 months he had not yet done anything to merit a win.
I think the President is a noble, brave man, I hope during his presidency he ends the wars in Iraq and Afgahanistan. Then we can truly say he deserves the Nobel Peace prize.
I also think Bristol Palin is a brave young woman for going on DWTS with no previous dancing training, and hopefully the best dancer (Jennifer Grey, in my opinion) will win, and Bristol will be a better dancer than when she started.
Sarah Palin kills everything she touches? Au contraire. She has enlivened, emboldened and empowered MILLIONS of people in our country to stand their ground politically. Whatever she touches gets HUGE.
I seriously doubt that DWTS is anyone’s idea of a test run for any election except maybe a dancing competition. My guess is the millions who love Sarah Palin are willing to show their support for her by voting for her daughter. Dude, people LOVE Sarah Palin. Lots and lots and lots of people.
Why does she “scare the sh$t ou of” anyone? How ridiculous.
“She has enlivened, emboldened and empowered MILLIONS of people in our country to stand their ground politically.”
No matter how stupid and uninformed they are.
“No matter how stupid and uninformed they are.”
Well I think many of those type people also voted for Obama 2 years ago. I saw the proof when his supporters were asked how they felt about his VP running mate, Sarah Palin, and they gushed about how great she was. Talk about uninformed!
Stupidity and ignorance is not limited to Republicans only and if you truly think so, then my point is proven.
As for Bristol, if the judges don’t like her staying in the competition, then they need to petition the producers to change the rules of the show next year so their scores count for a higher percentage of who gets sent home. That way they don’t get stuck with fan favorites who can’t dance. The judges can’t be fine with the system when people choose the dancer they like best but complain when the opposite happens. This is life and it ain’t fair.
What is scary is that people like the Palins (and their tea party supporters)think it is ok to smugly take control of everything, regardless of whether they deserve it or have any skills to do the job or not. They feel it is just fine to use a faux democracy to win a dance title even if Bristol has few dance skills and other more qualified dancers who have also worked very hard are bumped off the show. They feel it is fine to vote in politicians who don’t know history or anything about world cultures, even if those people will screw the country up more than it is. Golly gee, I guess its ok because they are cute, and pert and well-meaning –even if they are ultimately intolerant of anyone who does not accept their childlike, eogmaniacal version of reality, i.e. Bristol is the best dancer because we say so.
Gemini, there’s a little problem with the logic used in your argument. You imply that these crazed Palin-supporters conspired to “overtake” a dance show. I doubt they all got together beforehand to discuss it.
Individuals are voting for Bristol just like individuals are voting for Brandi or Jennifer.
and now out come the tinfoil hat conspiracy mavens…
The REAL question here, is WHY do complete fools seem to enjoy celebrity status in the States, based purely on their stupidity? I ask this as a Canadian – we don’t fetishize our fools, we just elect them into Parliament.
In all seriousness though, I have been watching this phenonemon from afar…Paris Hilton, the Kardashians, the Palins, practically every celebrity there is….what is going on????? I am not saying Canada is impartial to this horrible trend (E talk anyone), just curious as to why these people are being given so much American media time and energy in the first place???
It’s Marie Osmond all over again. Whatever else Republicans do or don’t do, they VOTE. Bristol’s okay, she’s doing the best with what she has and clearly wants to be sent home at this point. Put her out of her misery America, she’s homesick. She hasn’t lost weight ala Kelly Osbourne, cause she can’t practise as much on account of her baby-sitting job. Seriously, who wouldn’t bone Mark Ballas?
I agree with Tammy — I am a HUGE Obama supporter, but even I, when I heard that he’d won the Nobel Peace Prize, thought that I had dreamed it (clock radio set to the news channel).
I disliked Bristol until this show. After watching her on DWTS I found her to be very likeable, and very normal.
Oh wow – I retract my last comment …I just found out about Canadian Jersey Shore.
I agree (with posters) that Bristol is there possibly because of the Rep/Tea vote (as an aside I don’t understand why the teas can take over the reps, they should be made to be a sep party).
It’s not a new phenom that one of the few remaining is a lousy (though marginally improving) dancer but it’s usually because they are loved for something else or they have a personality that shines through. Neither is applicable to Bristol Palin. So that’s why the rep/tea vote theory is in play. Which goes to prove that “they” will vote for any moron (no offence Bristol) regardless of their suitability to be there.
Tammy – Thanks for your last post and insights. I’m sorry someone had to stoop to name calling to try to get their point across. They just come off as immature and diminishes the value of whatever they have to say.
Tammy, if you and your hand are still reading this post, I am sorry for calling you a weirdo.
What she is lacking is just the feeling for the dance because the judges have always said she has mastered the technicality but not the emotion. The girl just doesn’t know how to act. Her blank expression on her face is what brings her down.I do believe this will be her last week on the show.
@pirouette apology accepted
Love to see Brandi Glanville on DWTS…
“I think many of those type people also voted for Obama 2 years ago. I saw the proof when his supporters were asked how they felt about his VP running mate, Sarah Palin, and they gushed about how great she was. Talk about uninformed!”
@ tango: what are you on about here? sarah palin was mc cain’s VP running mate, not obama’s. joe biden is our VP, mc cain is still a senator and palin is an unemployed tweeter. and obama supporters “gushed” about how great palin was? really? then why didn’t they vote for mc cain?
lol who always bring the Pres in order ot defend the Palins, it’s so typical and old, if the girl has no business being there then they have no business being there, right on gemini, I like shy and sweet “Brave” people too Tammy but I also like TALENT
OMG Bristol puts the “STAR” in Dancing with the Stars – yes I’m being sarcastic.
Sarah must be so proud.
@welmits
“There’s not a liberal America and a conservative America – there’s the United States of America.” – Barack Obama
Wise man, may we all strive to live up to these words. Love unites us, hate divides us.
@ Original Kate
I believe she is referring to supporters that simply voted for Obama because of all the hype surrounding him, and they had no idea his platform, running mate, ect. And someone had this theory around election time, and many people talked about Palin as if she was great b/c they thought she was Obama’s running mate. Which is why she called them uninformed.
The Paylin$ are not even in the same circle as OBAMA…Paylins are trying to squeak as much money from the american public before it all comes crashing down…
Word is Bristle is preggers, or is her weight gain from psychotropic meds for a mental condition, or does she have an eating disorder…either way…someone like her mom, needs to check out what is going on with her…sad, sad, sad, she is ignored by her mom and always has been…
There proly should be a popular vote and a technical vote from the judges and then combine the scores…
We can easily flip this by everyone not voting for Bristle, votes for Jennifer Grey
It is insaniTEA promoted by the screeching voice of sarah palinocchio. At least pinnocchio learned from his lies, sarah hasn’t. I can’t stand momma bear palin’s voice it sounds like a cat got its tail caught under a rocking chair over AND over again. AND IT WON’T STOP screeching.IT IS TOTALLY ANNOYING!MAKES YOUR EARS HURT and BLEED.
bristol can’t dance NEVER COULD NEVER IMPROVED. THIS IS NOT A GOOD and DECENT FAMILY. where were her parents when bristol was having unprotected sex repeatedly & pregnant TWICE. YES TWICE. the baby is in alaska not in calif. and IF YOU BELIEVE SHE IS ABSTINENT I HAVE SOME SWAMPLAND IN FLA I’D LIKE TO SELL. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THE MORALS IN THIS COUNTRY?? Certainly not a part of the palin CHEATERS.
