Back in October, Marion Cotillard debuted a dramatic new look – bangs trauma and major, gigantic boobs. Marion wasn’t really flat-chested before, but it seems like all of a sudden the girl is Jessica Simpson-sized in the boob department. This lead some of us to discuss the pregnancy-boobs versus boob job debate. Marion helped us out a month later by stepping out once again looking slightly heavier, with perhaps a slight hint of bump. And now, one month after the initial boobs-and-bangs trauma, we have new photos of Marion from this week’s Marrakech Film Festival, were she was promoting a film directed by her long-time lover Guillaume Canet (Diane Kruger’s ex-husband). And now PopEater points out that Marion might have been debuting something else on the red carpet – an engagement ring? Here’s the close up of the ring she wore:

Morocco got some refreshing attention last week from the Marrakech Film Festival, but Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard snagged some of the spotlight by wearing a rock on her finger at the opening ceremony. Photos have surfaced revealing what appears to be an engagement ring on Cotillard’s ring finger while she walks next to her boyfriend Guillaume Canet.
There are no confirmed reports from Cotillard or Canet about an engagement, so maybe the French starlet is keeping it hush-hush. Historically, Cotillard and Canet speak very little about their relationship to the media. In fact, they didn’t even attend the 2009 Cannes Film Festival on the red carpet together.
Canet, an actor, director and writer, is considered the George Clooney of France these days, which makes Cotillard and Canet one of the premiere French couples. The couple first united while working on the set of French film ‘Love Me if You Dare’ (2003), then officially began dating in 2007. They’ve continued to work together ever since with ‘The Last Flight’ (2009) and ‘Les Petits Mouchoirs’ (2010).

The French George Clooney? Canet wishes. I don’t hate Canet or anything, he seems like a perfectly nice and attractive man, but he’s not any Clooney-type. James Franco, maybe.
By that way, I’m still not even convinced that she’s pregnant. Marion strikes me as toker, and I could see this whole thing just being a stoner weight gain from too many munchies.

From the fire of the stone, it looks like it could be an opal (unless it’s just the way the light is shining on the ring). Not a good choice for a wear-every-day engagement ring. Too soft; vulnerable. But whatever, I guess. Colour me indifferent (as if you couldn’t tell).
I agree with bellaluna that it looks more like an opal than a diamond. Something about the color is incandescent.
I think she just put on some weight. I hope to god she is a fellow stoner, because that would make me love her French ass even more, if that’s possible. If she’s anything like me she probably just gained a tad bit of weight and hasn’t had consistent time to trim back down. Happens to the best of us, but I don’t think it’s pregnancy.
She is a bit young for a middle age “bulge” (boo-hoo! for those of us who are not!) and her dresses usually are racier, but maybe it’s just a few extra pounds. It looks good on her-ah, to be French!

She’s beautiful but that boob job was really shocking, and so obvious! If she is preggers congrats to her! And she does strike me as a stoner too – she seems like she’d be likely to spark one up, put on some comfy pjs, watch some tv and mow down on whatever’s in the kitchen. Which means I’d love to hang with her!
She and Guillaume are known for being giant potheads.
EVERYTIME a female celeb (particularly one in a relationship) steps out in a lose fitting gown or one with an empire waist people assume she’s pregnant…
Maybe she just liked the dress or he fact that she can relax and eat at an event and not feel compelled to suck in her stomach all night in case a photo is snapped of her looking bloated?

I really like the ring! It does look like an opal, but I love opals (its my birthstone). And I like her stonerness and her taste in fashion(usually). She’s a great actress too. Good for her! =)

i don’t know if they’re engaged but i know they’re huge pothead and these times, she chooses very awful outfits(what this blue dress ! and these hair! her awful leather dress last month!)

I don’t think Guillaume and Marion are the typical couple to get married…. but she does look pregnant. Her arms and boobs are bigger than usual.
Besides, she mentioned in a recent interview that she can’t wait to have a baby.
Marion has been a pothead for many years now. She said so herself at an interview. At the time of that interview (around 2006) she said that she had quit it but it seems she’s back to her pot smoking habits now.
She got some weight way too fast for it to be binging food or whatever. Plus she’s totally hiding the bump that was VERY noticeable at a concert she did with Yodélice back in November. We did not just jump to conclusions that she was pregnant because of the loose dress, it was because of her bump.
I’m disappointed she got a boob job. I like to think French women are classier than that.

It is REALLY TACKY to make fun of someone’s ring size!! I hate that!!
There are so many reasons for smaller rings. Sometimes they belonged to the man’s mom/grandmom and are typically smaller – but so sentimental. Some girls know that big rings are cheesy and WANT smaller. Some – like me -didn’t even want the engagement ring and just opted for a beautiful wedding ring. It’s so superficial to need a big ring.
Marion deffinately looks preggers and wonderful I might add. she’s always struck me as a homebody type when she’s not working simillar to Sophia Loren.

I love her! Just about everything about her. I love the spartan manicure on her hands. Such a great way to show off the rather busy ring. Funny how the truly French never opt for “French manicures”.

i love those two – they are a big deal in france – like the bradgalina of France. They’ve been in great movies and he’s becoming a better director. they did this movie ‘love me if you dare’ and it is on my top 10 list, just love it

Huge engagement rings are just tacky. If that little thing is her engagement ring, then good for her & Guillaume.
She’s talented but I’ve never found her to be remotely attractive; if I saw Marion in jeans on the subway, I wouldn’t give her a second glance.
The media tries to force us to believe that every female celeb is gorgeous but I wish we could admit that we could celebrate the fact that there are heaps of not-exceptionally-pretty, talented women out there. We don’t feel the need to lie about celeb men being good looking – no one says, oooh, John Malkovich and Lyle Lovett are SO handsome! For men, we admit that some are on the homely side but their talent and success and personalities can make them sexy.
