Nicole Richie and her daughter were a huge hit on the set of the NBC comedy “Chuck.” Richie was filming a guest role on the show and brought her daughter Harlow, 7 months, with her to work.
The stars of NBC’s Chuck are raving about Nicole Richie’s guest appearance.
“Nicole came in and from day one was uber-professional [and] dedicated,” Zachary Levi told reporters at the NBC/Bravo/Oxygen/Sci Fi TCA party at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday.
But who really stole the show?
Seven-month-old Harlow!
Levi said Richie, 26, brought her daughter to the set “maybe every day.
“Such an adorable little baby!” he said. “I wanted to eat the baby – Is that wrong?”
But Harlow won’t make a cameo while mom plays a former hot cheerleader who’s married to a character played by Ben Savage.
“Which is weird because we hired Harlow first,” Levi joked. “It was like a package deal.”
Co-star Yvonne Strahovski told Usmagazine.com that working with Richie was “great fun.
“We got to kick each other’s a–es, and we had a lot of fun doing it!” she said. “[Nicole] did not miss a beat in the fight scene!”
Explained executive producer Josh Schwartz: “Nicole Richie is playing a super-villain and has a pretty bada– fight/shower sequence with Yvonne where they’re attacking each other with pipes and plumbing.”
Strahovski told Us that Richie is a “really cool” mom.
“She’s loving being a mom,” Strahovski said. “I asked her what it’s like and she said, ‘It’s great. It’s the best thing ever!'”
And Sarah Lancaster said Richie was “totally down-to-earth and just a sweetheart.
It sounds like the cast and crew at “Chuck” were ready to make Harlow a full time member of the team. Which isn’t surprising, ’cause the kid is frickin’ adorable. I would love to have a job where I could bring my child to work with me every day and people wouldn’t roll their eyes about it or act like the kid was a nuisance. I think a Hollywood TV set is one of the only places where that kind of thing would fly. Anyway, it’s nice to hear something positive come out about Nicole’s parenting abilities. I always thought the reports about Nicole being torn between partying and motherhood were crap.
i don’t get to bring mine everyday, BUT when she is sick or off of school my daughter comes to work. it is so lovely. i wish she could do it full time!
RaeJillian, what kind of job do you have? That’s awesome that your employer lets you bring your child to work. I’ll bring my 5 year old in the lab (my workplace) on the weekends…it would be so cool though if I could bring her into work on her days off and on her half days, or when she was sick. That would let me save some of my vacation time because everytime she is sick I have to use my time to stay home with her (single-parent). It would also save on day care expenses where you have to pay even when the kid is not there!
Hmm, I’ve seen pictures of Harlow as well and she looks like a piglet.
But whatever, being given attention for no reason is something that runs in that family.
Dingles, that is not a very nice thing to say about an innocent little baby. I’ve seen pictures of her, too, and I think she is just adorable. Babies get attention simply because they are tiny, cute and sweet. 😛
Awe! I love it! I think Nicole & Joel are great parents & they clearly love little Harlow
How do you keep your sick kids isolated from your co-workers so that they don’t get sick and have to miss work? I get how it’s easier for you, but is it easier in the long run for everyone else?
I do keep my daughter at home when she is sick. I was talking about it must be nice when the kids have half days off and teacher-in-service day to be able to bring them into work. But back to getting co-workers sick…when i’m sick I tend to stay home, I know a lot of people that come to work even when they are really sick passing their nasty germs around. I mean people that could afford to take a week off or even 2 or 3. My time every year I get my time for the year is eaten up when I am sick or my daughter, blah, blah, blah…that is what my daughter likes to say right now…she’s 5 yrs old going on 15!
That’s annoying, isn’t it, Roni? I work in a law firm and the lawyers, who could easily work from home for a day or two as they have computers and e-mail and telephones, come in dripping germs all over us lesser beings who have only 15 personal days a year for vacation AND sick leave, have to use some of it to get well.
I think Harlow is adorable, and I think babies deserve to get attention for no reason.
Awwwww that’s nice – perhaps Paris could learn a little maturity from her friend.
That is so great that she is did that rather than leave her with a nanny. That shows that while her career is important to her her baby is just as important.
Hey Dingles, what kind of thing is that to say? The baby is cute.
