Antoine Dodson’s rant to his sister’s attacker on the local news was made into a remix which soon became the most viewed video on YouTube this year. Antoine followed up his newfound fame with a Halloween Costume, a performance on The BET Hip Hop Awards, a Christmas ornament and plenty of interviews that showed what a funny, thoughtful guy he was.
Now Antoine has done a parody riff of his “Bed Intruder” rant on The George Lopez show. His “Chimney Intruder” song has a Christmas theme, and is all about hiding the presents and the tree from the fat man.
“He’s coming through your chimney, snatching your cookies up, trying to eat ’em, so y’all need to hide your gifts, hide your trees and hide your eggnog because he’s taking everything up in here.”
I found this cheesy at first but I was soon laughing my ass off and loving how Antoine is so game to make fun of himself. Some of my favorite lines include:
“Run and tell that fat boy,” “I see a fat red guy running around he better have some Kool Aid for me” and “Come through my chimney and I’ll show you a nutcracker” and “All I want for Christmas is for you to keep your fat ass out my house.”
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
I’m in two minds about this. On one hand, I think the song remix is funny and I’m glad Dodson and his family have earned enough so they could move into a better home. On the other hand, the fact that he is capitalising on his sister’s near-rape just rubs me the wrong way.
“On the other hand, the fact that he is capitalising on his sister’s near-rape just rubs me the wrong way.”
Thank you! A voice a reason!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…it’s a modern day minstrel show…HOWEVER, it has benefited him and his family to move out of a dangerous place and make a better life for themselves.
god he is really funny!!
I think he’s poking fun at the ensuing Internet popularity that resulted from the incident with his sister, not the incident itself. His reaction to the incident was completely genuine, he wasn’t famewhoring over it. I see your point but I think this is really funny and I love that he has a good sense of humor about himself.
@atticus…I agree. I think he had no idea that his interview would lead to this fame… He was being himself and it was just funny!!!!
Love this guy!
I do get the controversy, but I agree that his is making fun of his unexpected fame, not the original incident. The incident happened, and the fact that he chose to use this fame and money to help his family is the silver lining in a dark cloud that would be there regardless. Might as well use that fame positively. He is totally in on this joke. This was a clever and funny way to (hopefully) end this li’l franchise.
I really do like this guy, he seems very sweet and genuine… like he’s not taking any of the few minutes of fame he has for granted. I heard that he’s donated some of his earnings to rape crisis centers too. That and the fact that he moved his family to a safer place just makes me <3 him.
I agree with all the comments that he is making fun of himself and his popularity. I didn’t know that he had donated some of the money to rape crisis centers. I think he’s hilarious.
I remember reading an interview he gave where he said if acting crazy and making fun of himself was going to bring attention to what happened to his sister, and to try to catch the guy who tried to rape her, he would. I thought that was sweet.
Antoine’s just trying to take care of his family. I honestly believe he isn’t trying to exploit his sister’s rape. Do your thing Antoine!
