Even though Us Weekly’s announcement just comes from a “source” I tend to believe it. Us Weekly always has good Kate Hudson gossip, and it turns out to be true most of the time. Plus, if she was going to get pregnant again, you know it would be with Matt Bellamy. So the only question I have is… why announce it now? Oh, right. Owen Wilson and his baby.
Owen Wilson is expecting a little one — and now his ex is, too!
A source confirms exclusively in the new Us Weekly, out Wednesday, that Kate Hudson, 31, is 14 weeks pregnant with boyfriend Matthew Bellamy’s baby.
“It was not planned, but they are excited and embracing it,” the source reveals to Us.
The insider adds that the actress, who has been dating the Muse frontman, 32, for nine months, is stoked for her 7-year-old son Ryder (with ex-husband Chris Robinson, 44) to have a little playmate.
“She is happy for Ryder to finally have a brother or sister,” says the source.

Well, if it’s true (likely), congrats to the happy couple! Mazel tov, etc. Just think… when Kate had Ryder, she gained so much weight – it will be fun to see her get heavy again. I can’t wait.
UPDATE: People Magazine confirmed it. She’s knocked up! People’s source says: “They couldn’t be more excited. Kate is really happy. She was always excited to have kids again at some point.”

Maybe there is something in the water… Sometimes when your friend gets pregnant, you want to get pregnant too – I would attribute this pregnancy more to Rachel Zoe’s baby. Zoe is close with Kate Hudson. I always thought Kate dumped and crushed Owen Wilson, not the other way around.

She’s been trying to get pregnant since forever. That’s been the reason behind most, if not all, of her break ups (the fact that she wanted to immediately play instant family with all of them). Either Matt was willing or he got duped. Doesn’t look too bright in either case.
This surge is pregnancies is getting ridiculous. I know it’s just as ridiculous for me to judge people I don’t know, but Kaiser (or CB?) recently said it’s probably not as weird as it seems, as people always conceive more often in the fall. I still say it’s way above the norm.
Do any of you have (non-famous) friends who also seem to be getting pregnant in greater numbers? Is there something in the water in general?

@Jezi: I completely agree, and don’t get what Olive’s problem is. When you have young kids they need stability, and bringing a dozen different ‘uncles’ around for the kid to become attached to only to have them leave and never be seen again can be pretty traumatic for little ones. Not to mention the emotional stress of seeing your mommy be sad everytime Uncle So-and-so goes away. Young children can be a hell of alot more perceptive and sensitive than we give them credit for.

@olive what’s wrong with what I said? I think it’s really irresponsible for parents to bring multiple partners in and out of their children’s lives. Kate dates a guy for 2 seconds, introduces him to Ryder, creates this whole family vibe and then 2 seconds after that they break up. You don’t think that has some sort of psychological effect on this child? All I’m saying is wait until you know for sure that this relationship is going to really go somewhere. Then bring them around your child.

At the risk of sounding super old fashioned, I really dont understand why people are having kids so willy nilly with so many different partners. Can you imagine what these kids lives are like sharing custody with different parents going different places at all times. Not being able to spend holidays with your siblings. Definitely timed to steal Owen’s thunder, and I don’t blame her. Kate was VERY good to Owen and tried to help him several times to get and stay clean. He was a MESS when he had to film “Marley and Me” and he got through that BECAUSE OF HER. She took a lot of heat as the “heavy” in their breakups and never even hinted at his drug problems to the media. She sacrificed a lot, acted with grace and for what? Just dropping in to say I absolutely agree with Jezi.
I know someone who, after 1 month of dating, had her 3 year old daughter start calling her new boyfriend ‘Daddy’. They got pregnant shortly after this and ended up breaking up while she was 7 months along because he left her for another girl.
So now she has 2 children by 2 different men and will probably end up having a 3rd child from another man.
It is sad.. really sad. 🙁
Melinda..I so agree with you. Babies seem to be the new accessory item this year. Out of all the new celeb pregnancies I think only one or two are actually married. Kate has been with this guy for 9 months? Sad, this will not end well at all. Kinda seems like he was ambushed.

Agree with what most others have said – likely she planned it! It does seem a bit weird how only a few mths ago she was going on about wanting more kids and then she accidentally gets pregnant with a well off guy, also one that appears decent and probably the type that would find it hard to leave someone under these circumstances. I could be wrong though, but it would make sense she would pick him to do this with if you look at it that way. Anyway, Matt is a twat for getting involved with KH, it is going to be downhill for him from now on, just hope Muse can continue in the future after this mess. It will be such a shame if it affects one of the only great bands around today, it makes me feel really sad, that too for Matt’s first child to be brought up in the celeb world and will no doubt be paraded around in gossip mags and photo shoots with it’s mother.
