That was fast, wasn’t it? Less than a week after the announcement came that Owen Wilson’s girlfriend Jade Duell were expecting a baby, Jade gave birth to a baby boy. The whole thing went down in Hawaii, where it seems Jade has been ensconced within Owen’s Hawaiian property for some time. Some people are calling this whole thing a victory for privacy and for the non-famewhore celebrity. Sure. That’s one explanation. Another explanation is that the whole thing is sketchy. But I won’t get into all of that here and now – I’ll just congratulate the happy family!
Owen Wilson has a Little Focker of his own: He and his girlfriend, Jade Duell, have welcomed a son.
“Everyone is doing well,” his rep tells PEOPLE.
The baby was born in Hawaii.
Wilson and Duell have been dating for more than a year, according to Entertainment Weekly. News of Wilson’s impending fatherhood was just revealed on Jan. 10.
This is the first child for the actor, 42, who currently stars in Little Fockers.

This reminds me a little bit of theIsla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen thing, when they came across as extremely paranoid about even confirming the birth of their second child. At least Owen’s rep confirmed the baby’s birth… that bodes well, honestly. Do you think we’ll even get a confirmation on the name? I don’t even know. Oh, well. I hope everyone is happy and healthy and that my worst suspicions are nowhere near the truth.

I SERIOUSLY doubt that there is anything sketchy about this. I think he learned the hard way to keep his shit private & who wouldn’t given his history. Congrats to the little family, I’d love to know what the bean’s name is 🙂
Eh Owen is a sketchy dude or at least he was in the past with drug use & depression Hopefully now that he is a dad that is all in the past. congrats!
I agree w/ Bodhi (#4). Wilson has been very private since his drug overdose. I can respect that and will assume (and hope for) the best.
Anyone want to predicate the baby’s name? I’m thinking something hippy-dippy for the first name. And the middle name will be a homage to Woody Harrelson.
What the hell? Is it in the water? There are usually lots of September babies because of fun and games around the holidays, but all the babies dropping now must have been caused by bring fever (March/April)

Maybe there is nothing sketchy to it. I recently delievered a stillborn baby that was full term and her death was a suprise and shock to my whole family. Maybe there was some complications and they didn’t want to announce anything until they knew everything was going to be okay. I know next time I get pregnant I am not going to be telling anyone I am pregnant until we deliver a healthy baby.

You’re right – Owen is VERY sketchy and so is this whole situation.
It only came out because someone in Jade’s family tipped the National Enquirer off as they were concerned that she was going to be left high and dry right after the birth.
And she hasn’t been in Hawaii for some time – only since last month, and even at that he put her in the POOL HOUSE, not the main house.
He loves his privacy so much that he doesn’t even want the mother of his child to know what he’s doing up in the main house.
Why would he tell the media? The media ripped his shit up a) when Kate broke up with him and b) when he started to have a really hard time (the drugs post-split). WHY would he sell out his first born to a machine that knocked him? The media is lucky they know at all….
About the pool house being an issue. She’s 8 months pregnant, the house likely had stairs and she was just more comfortable in a self-contained place. Everybody stop with the hatred, it’s really sad. And since when was he known as ‘sketchy’? I always thought he was just a sensitive dude who took some stuff hard. Comparing him to Charlie Sheen (THAT dude is sketchy) is a little extreme.

well, maybe it was a one night stand or very short term relationsip-and he is doing his part but isn’t ‘with’ the mother.
just b/c someone gets pregnant, does not mean the couple needs to stay together….as nice as that would be, it’s unrealistic.

Dont think he was trying to be secretive for privacy- more like Oh sh.. she got pregant and i didnt want this and im keeping it under wraps.
Owen has not seemed “well” sense the overdose. He has been burned by bad publicity before so being more private is understandable.
Childs mom living in the pool house does not seem appropriate even if this was a fling, why ship her to Hawaii to banish her to a pool house?
@brandymc- I am so sorry for your loss!! I understand your heartache and pain. I too had a stillborn baby two years ago. And yes, I didn’t announce my next pregnancy til I was truly showing and couldn’t hide it any longer. I wore super big clothes so I hid it well. I too can understand why some couples may not want to go public with their pregnancies right away. My thoughts are with you and your family while you go through the healing process. Right now is the hardest part, but I promise that it does get better with time. XOXO.

I think his girlfriend is a federal air marshal, so maybe they’re trying to be private so she doesn’t have her picture all over the place. Cause I think they’re supposed to not be identified on planes.
I don’t know for sure…but I read that she was a federal air marshal. So that could explain the sketchiness.

Naming your kid after a major car company is just wrong.
I think since they have been together for a year it’s not so fishy. At first I thought maybe it was a baby from a one night stand but it sounds as if they just want their privacy.
If he had announced the pregnancy there would have been a renewed interest in getting pictures of him and his girlfriend. His girlfriend isn’t famous so maybe he wants to protect her.
Why is it sketchy?? Not everyone h0res their infants out to the press for attention. Nicole Kidman is a huge celebrity and quietly had her child with no selling of pics, nothing. Some couples do do this right.

BrandyMc and DanaM, I am so incredibly sorry for both of your losses. I’ve been sitting here trying to find something wise and comforting to say, and words just escape me. You’re both in my thoughts.
I don’t see why its sketchy either. I don’t know the dynamics of their relationship. I mean, they must have only been dating a few months when she got pregnant. Maybe they just aren’t ready to live together for whatever reason, but he still wanted them nearby so he could be involved and see where it goes. At least he’s stepping up, so good for him.
If they’ve been together a little less than a year then they were only together two or three months when she got pregnant. So it’s totally possible that their relationship never really had any long term potential and he offered to put her up in Hawaii so they could be near each other for the duration of the pregnancy so he could be involved. But if they’re not really “together” any more then living in the same house could be awkward, so the pool house thing keeps them close while giving them each their space. I get it. This scenario, if true, points toward two people who are trying to be cooperative and mature. Nothing wrong with that.

Something similar happened to a colleague recently, where the parents found out the poor little mite was very ill during the pregnancy. They didn’t announce the pregnancy for that reason – in fact I only realised when her employers advertised for maternity cover.
On this news. I’m sure they’re keeping it low key so that the child is not media fodder. I’m also delighted for He With The Glorious Flaxen Mane 😀 and for the fact that there will be more lovely Wilsons running around 😉

Did Sasha Baron Cohen ever say what the second baby was named? I can’t think of a name, I think the older one is Olive. I don’t even know if they had a boy or a girl.
