Dina Lohan: “Lindsay’s just a little girl who loves to work”

dina1

This morning, Dina “Mother Crackhead” Lohan went on Good Morning America to play her now standard-issue Crackhead Denial Game. I swear, you could just cut and paste the quotes from this piece with all of the other interviews Dina has done about Crackhead Junior over the past few years. The video is below, and here there are some highlight quotes after the video:

Dina Lohan‘s advice for Charlie Sheen: “Just get help….Lindsay took his advice and she gave him advice as well…just get help, you know. He’s been in the business a lot longer than my daughter and he’s from Hollywood.”

Dina on Lindsay: “She‘s matured considerably.” and “[She faces] a lifelong struggle with addiction. I believe [that Lindsay doesn’t drink anymore], and I think it’s gonna be a lifelong struggle with addiction. But I think she’s gonna be okay.”

Lindsay is struggling: “She’s a young girl struggling. You know, she’s not perfect. … She’s learning as she goes, but she’s learning under a microscope, so I can’t even imagine how that is.”

Dina Lohan said she could “absolutely not” imagine her daughter being a thief.

Dina on her own struggles: “I can’t always fight what they’re saying or thinking of me. And I’m — I’m certainly not that person. So when people say, ‘Oh, she’s living off her children or her kids, or we’re all in this business.’ I grew up in this business. That’s what I know.”

Dina describes herself as “a lifelong entertainer.”

Dina on how she always knew her daughter was a crackhead: “I knew early on, I just didn’t tell anyone about it. It was a personal situation…I saw it visually, what was happening. You know, I’m around my children. I was around Lindsay a lot, and I saw what was happening. I grabbed the bull by the horns and tried to get her help immediately.”

On Lindsay’s first rehab stay, in 2007: “You know, you have to be ready as an individual. It’s not just gonna’ happen. You have to hit your own bottom,” she said.

On the media: “I never thought it would be this — the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level,” said Dina Lohan. “It’s been really hard on my family, harder than anything.”

And finally: “I really think Lindsay was at a maturation level that she now understands what she needs to get from it. And she grasps that.”

[From ABC News]

Yeah, so mature. Lindsay is totally fine now, right? Oh, wait. She spent the night with Samantha Ronson after they went clubbing. And I’m totally sure they were both completely sober. Sure. Because as a “lifelong entertainer” Dina’s professional opinion is that Lindsay is totally fine. Of course.

Also – notice how many times (in the video) that Dina says Lindsay is a “child” or a “little girl” or talks about how young Lindsay is. Bitch, your daughter has been a crackhead for like SEVEN YEARS. Stop treating all of this like it’s some youthful indiscretion!!!

  1. Lisa Turtle says:

How does she think this helps Lindsay AT ALL?

This interview helps Dina to stay relevant. Nobody else is benefitting, not Lindsay, not the other Lohans, not the general public who have seen all they need to of this sick and dysfunctional family.

Also, Sam Ronson is one of Lindsay’s top enablers. Do you think Sam eats poptarts and drinks diet cokes all night while she’s spinning at various nightclubs around the country? If you think that, I have an island in Kansas I’d like to sell ya.

  2. bite me says:

    look, white powder

  3. Nopizzaknowpiece says:

25 year olds are not “little girls”. Doing coke and partying all night every night is not “work”. The world needs to start ignoring this Dina person so she’ll go away forever. Giving her attention merely feeds the monster.

  4. Isa says:

    Dina does not get it.
“I raise my kids to be happy go lucky kids??”

She has made a mess of their lives.

  5. brin says:

    Dina is short for Denial.

  6. Innocent says:

This post is so hilarious. I am in pain from laughing so much.
    @Lisa Turtle
Agree completely about Sam. I want to see if LL tweets anything about what Sam said.

  7. whitedaisy says:

I read these interviews of Dina and know exactly why Lindsay is the mess that she is.

  8. l says:

Unbelievable. I am 22 years old. I have lived in NEW YORK F*ing city for over 5 years without any parental assistance and only recently moved in with a boyfriend of over a year. Yeah, I tried drugs at a young age, what Brooklyn 20 something hasn’t, but I’ve grown up and maintain a job/relationships/obligations. I am most certainly NOT a child. Gimme a break.

  9. bunkins says:

Since when is 24 a little girl? You can vote, go to war, drive have babies…
Fool. She always repeats the same crap. “She has matured” , “she is under a microscope” blah blah boring. she should watch her own past interviews see what a fool she looks like. i don’t know who is worse Dina or Michael.

  10. PrettyTarheel says:

How many people on this thread are over 25? What were you doing at 25?
    For example:
At 25, I worked as a Private Wealth Specialist, I paid rent, I drank and parties on occasion with my girls, I shopped, probably blew too much money on shoes, dated assholes…I would say that’s a normal 25 year old experience. I wasn’t anyone’s version of a “child” or “little girl.” I was a full blown, albeit young, adult. Why is this woman trying to make Lindsey a child? What possible benefit could she get, besides enabling further child-like behavior? When you’re 25, you’re responsible for every action you make, whether it’s blowing too much on shoes or stealing a necklace. She is NOT a child!

  11. HappyMom says:

This women just enrages me. And I hate these stupid shows that keep interviewing her which just feeds her narcissism. Ugh.

  12. TQB says:

Gee, Dina, you’ve known for years that your daughter is an addict, yet all that time you’ve gone on a million interviews where you’ve denied it and blamed everyone else for her problems. I wonder why we can’t believe you now?

  13. Gwenevere says:

It creeps me out how often Dina describes Lindsay as a ‘little girl’ or a ‘child’. She is neither. By now she could have a school-aged child herself! I wonder will Dina still be talking like this when Lindsay is in her 30s?

  14. danielle says:

She’s just a little girl who loves to work…the pole!

Sorry, but she was just asking for it. I didn’t even read the article, just the comments, cause I don’t really care about Lohan. She’s just a sad drug addict.

  15. LindyLou says:

Why does mother crackhead keep getting interviews? Are they that desperate or does she hound the networks until someone lets her speak? I know eventually this family of famewhores will not get media attention but personally, am so tired hearing about it. Come on Lohan Obscurity!! Go go go!

  16. Quest says:

Little girl my ass. Dana your a f*ckin’ hypocrite. Lindsay smokes what the hell ever, is a total train wreck, steals, lies, cheats and god knows what else we are unaware of and all you can come up with is this sorry excuse of a defence.

Look before Dana receives some serious asswhoping herself, if Lindsay is such a little girl/child then you are 100% to blame for the mess. Take that Mommy Lohan and smoke it.

  17. dorothy says:

Why does GMA continue to have this woman on their show. Have they not heard that no one cares? Dina and her denials…blah, blah, blah..

  18. Devon says:

Riiight. At 24/25, I had already gotten married, moved away to the “big city,” then moved again, was holding down a job, was paying bills, etc. Oh yeah and I was partying but being smart. I had my fun but never did I take drugs. Just good ol’ fashioned booze. At that age, you are no longer a child. You are an adult plain and simple.

Maybe Dina’s talking about Lindsay’s mental age. In that case, she should still be living at home because I don’t think LiLo is older than 13.

  19. JenJen says:

She no talkey to Mattey anymore? That’s the only time I ever liked him was when he called her out on her junkie kid.

  20. Linda says:

Oh, she needs an intervention bad. Delusional.

  21. lucy2 says:

I caught the end of this when I was waking up this morning, and I swear at the end I thought I heard her say something like “I have no idea what I just said” or something like that. Or maybe it was my foggy morning brain.

The whole thing is sadly hilarious – she does know her previous interviews exist on tape, right? Where she denied, denied, denied…
Like her daughter, she will NEVER admit to wrong doing.
“I’m around my kids”. Congrats! Mother of the F’ing Year!

By the time I was 25, I’d graduated college, moved out on my own, been working full time for 3 years, and bought my house all by myself. What was I thinking, I was just a child!

  22. lola lola3 says:

“You have to hit your own bottom?” Hilarious! How about I kick her bottom for her?

  23. LondonLady says:

    Lifelong entertainer? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1628504/

  24. nicole says:

    Geez, have another cigarette lady.

  25. happygirl says:

    Hahahahaha!!!

@Innocent – girl, I’m in pain from laughing, too!! Laughing at how RIDICULOUS this family is! Laughing at how they LITERALLY think they are just victims (I think they’ve actually lied so much, they’ve convinced themselves it’s true)…and laughing at how mommy is constantly defending a GROWN ASS WOMAN who, instead of doing something useful with her life, is perfectly content to live her crack-infested lie of a life. It’s insane how hilarious it is.

  26. Marjalane says:

It’s a shame her “child”, her “little girl entertainer” chose to go to court looking like a broke down, 40 something, streetwalker. She should have been wearing her Catholic school plaid skirt and white blouse. Who, exactly, does Mother Crackhead think she’s fooling?!

  27. escapee says:

@brin – LOL – I can’t believe no one has made that connection before.

  28. ! says:

Aw, I want an island in Kansas.

  29. Crash2GO2 says:

    Work on a buzz.

  30. xxodettexx says:

NOTE TO DINA: mid-20 year old females are WOMEN, not GIRLS…

and yes, i agree that this is basically another cut and paste, talking-points type interview that she is always pushing

  31. xxodettexx says:

@PrettyTarheel: at 25, i was an office manager of a boutique law firm in Tampa [still am]… i also took in my sister and her two daughters [aged 4 and 2] and was mother hen to all of them! i paid all my bills, clothed and fed my “family” of 4, managed to never be late to work, had my own car i was paying for, i partied responsibly and paid for all my purchases [clothes, jewelry, etc] BEFORE leaving stores or being called out about having sticky fingers, never lied to authorities, was considerate of other drivers around me, held down a real relationship built on friendship and trust, not crack… etc etc etc

    i mean, for frakking real!

  32. Faye says:

Dina’s “little girl” is older than me. To be fair, my mother tells me that I’ll “always be her baby girl” but I don’t think that she would call me a “child” in an interview, any interview, especially on TV.

Though she does make Facebook posts about how “proud she is of her little girl” for getting accepted to college. But that’s sort of a proud, and “aw my little baby is all grown up” type thing, not a “my little girl is going to be dealing with addiction for the rest of her life” thing. I think there’s a difference.

Also, my mom is almost fifty and looks a damn sight better than Dina’s “little girl.”

  33. Str8Shooter says:

My favorite quote in this non-story:

“I never thought it would be this — the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level,” said Dina Lohan. “It’s been really hard on my family, harder than anything.”

Gee, isn’t this the same woman who was shopping a freakin’ reality show about her daughter GOING TO REHAB???

And correct me if I’m wrong, doesn’t LiLo call the papos every time she does ANYTHING?

Cry me a river. Apple doesn’t even fall OFF of that tree!

  34. Jaana says:

Im so scared for Lindsay. SHe is playing with her life/ her mom looks younger than her…

  35. seVen says:

I just cant with these people.

  36. GeekChic says:

    Ugh. Gah. THIS WOMAN.

    *head explodes*

  37. ghostbuster says:

@londonlady. thanks, i was wondering if she was a child actress or something.
i dina saying that she grew up in this business really hits the nail on the head how delusional she really is. dina didnt grow up in this business her two daughters have. its all really sad, but if we stop paying attention, then maybe they will go away.

  38. London says:

As a WOMAN who is about to be 25 in April i find it insulting for this lady to keep calling that girl a child, what child has been on drugs for like seven years, give me a break, she is the same age as i am and looks like she is 42

  39. the original bellaluna says:

Yes. Poor little Blohan, who is just “a little girl who loves to work” the crack-ho stroll. That was the rest of the sentence; it was “edited” for content. :p

@ London – Wow! How generous you are to refer to Wbhite Oprah as a “lady.” I posit she is not now, nor has she ever been, a lady. But I like your over-all message!

  40. the original bellaluna says:

Oops – I meant “White” Oprah!

  41. MSMLNP says:

Here is a perfect example of how addiction is a family disease. Mother Lohan is either an enabler or really and truly wants to ride the gravy train. Sad either way.

  42. Relli says:

Honestly i have given up all hope of Linds, i just don’t care. Sure i read the articles but i don’t believe she really wants to change, I think she honestly believes what White Oprah says “that none of this is her fault.” In all honesty the Lindsay we are/were rooting for no longer exists cocaine stole her soul. i do however have some career revitalizing lifetime tv movie suggestions:

    1. the Dana Plato story – starring LL as Dana Plato. THINK of the the INTERVIEWS! The angles the could play on are endless!

    2. Whatever happened to baby Jane – starring LL as Jane and Ali as Blanche. I think Michael K., would agree That Ali certainly has the eyebrows for it!

  43. lachica says:

so it’s the media’s fault her 24-YO little girl stole a necklace and put drugs up her nose?

is it also the media’s fault her little girl showed up to court with eff you on her nails and dressed like a skank?

    just asking.

this woman is the worst kind of enabler.

  44. Stephanie says:

Yeah, Dina is a lifelong entertainer. Of the readers of Celebitchy!!!!

  45. e says:

No wonder Linday’s a drung user! Look at her parents. They’d drive me to drink and do whatever drug to escape. What a nightmare. Why are we still talking about them anyways?

  46. miley says:

who’s the cause for Lindsay’s troubles?

  47. Dawning Red says:

You know, whenever anyone would ask Al Capone’s mother what she thought of her son, she would respond “Al’s a good boy.”

And this is why we study history in school, so you can see how it really DOES repeat itself!

  48. LaBoy says:

Dina is not very bright and should speak in public. She is constantly shooting herself in the foot.

As for lindsay and sam. They are clearly back together.
But they weren’t clubbing together. Sam was at her friends birthday dinner party at the roosevelt. Not at teddy’s but at the lounge room with the bowling alley. Lindsay was actually at the Chateau Marmont with friends untill she turned up just before closing time at 1.45 am to meet Sam and they drove home together. So the idea that they were clubbing together is pretty far fetched .lol!

  49. futureperfect says:

Recently saw Easy A and thought to myself, wow, Lindsay Lohan has TOTALLY been replaced by someone who seems to have more character, is more attractive, intelligent, professional, and talented. Did she not get the memo? Moreover, she doesn’t have an iota of the talent of a River Pheonix (great tragedy) or RDJ (great redemption), so it’s no great loss to movies. Next!

  50. futureperfect says:

Just looking at the title of this piece: re-read it as ““Lindsay’s just a little working girl”… and other such variations

  51. Dean says:

Dear me, dina lohan is awful.. she just needs to shut up, not that that’s ever gonna happen…

I wouldn’t call it clubbing together if she turns up 15 minutes before the hotel closes Kaiser– like 15 minutes of wild partying???
@ lisa as far as i know ronson doesn’t have dui, never been to jail or rehab. had any trouble with the law or turning up to work— so i think its pretty weird for you to judge her with such certainty simply because she is a DJ. Kind of old fashioned don’t you think?
I know lawyers who use drugs, doctors, accountants, it’s not something specific to the Dj population in my experience. Drugs are everywhere.

In any case if lilo relapses she goes straight to jail, the probation officers does random drug tests on her twice a week.. so no need for gossipers to make preemptive strikes.
If she doesn’t stay sober we’ll all know soon enough.

  52. Liana says:

How many people on this thread are over 25? What were you doing at 25?
    *********

I had graduated from Tisch, I was working off-Broadway, auditioning, living on my own, hanging out with my friends, seeing hardcore shows, paying my own way… I wasn’t doing drugs or drinking to excess. I wasn’t stealing necklaces. And I came from a pretty crappy early childhood (and a freaking FANTASTIC teenhood). So… no. Just stop. My birth vessel WAS a hooker… Lindsay’s just looks like one.

  53. jones says:

Lindsay should divorce BOTH her parents once and for all.I like that she is back with Sam, they were cute together. She was a lot calmer and stayed out of trouble when she was with Sam. From what i heard sam left her when she started using again.
I hope they get can make it work this time.

  54. hannah says:

People taking such obvious pleasure in bashing someone who is down is a little disturbing.

I think it’s time for everyone to get off Lindsay’s case and let her move forward with her life. Sure she has made some mistakes. Guess what? So have I. Have you?

Let her do her thing, if she starts doing drugs again its her problem she will end up in jail as she is being tested . But lets not create shit before it happens.

  55. Leslie says:

What I find so disturbing with some of these celebrity parents is how when their children are minors, they are can’t stop talking about how “mature” their children are for their age due to their profession – and use that as an excuse for any indiscretion like inappropriate photos or partying. (“But you have to realize she’s not like a regular 16-year-old.”)

But when these child stars come of age and come undone, those same parents refer to them as children and use their lost youth as an excuse for their immature behavior. (“But you have to remember that she grew up in the spotlight and never had a chance to be young and carefree.”)

Maybe if these parents would let their kids be kids when they are (gasp!) kids, they wouldn’t have to baby them as adults.

Major enabling here – some might even call it coercion. When you force a career and turn a blind eye to anything that will interfere, you have stopped being a parent and become a perpetrator.

  56. lucy2 says:

“Gee, isn’t this the same woman who was shopping a freakin’ reality show about her daughter GOING TO REHAB???”

That’s the utterly strange part – she seems to think the general public doesn’t know about stuff like this, or about all the other crap that comes out about them. Completely in denial.

AHAHA! I was able to rewatch and she totally said “I have no idea what I just said. Does anyone know?” at the end of the interview. Crackhead.

  57. loveyourwork says:

I just laughed so hard I drooled on my keyboard!

  58. hellen says:

“You have to hit your own bottom”: Well, unless a responsible parent will do it for you – with a hair brush.

  59. Gabriela says:

You know, she says “you know” a lot. You know, this is so annoying.

  60. Nah, Bruh. I'm Good. says:

    De Nile – (n) – 1) A river in Egypt; 2) Dina Lohan.

  61. Stephanie says:

Kaiser, thanks for the recap so I don’t have to listen to her ass. I saw this idiot on TV last night and had to change the channel.

  62. Turd Ferguson says:

No wonder the girl is so messed up.
With a fame whoring, delusional apologist for a mother she has no chance. Add to that Lindseys entitled attitude and lack of any work ethic.

She has never been on time to a photo shoot or movie filming – she really MUST love it.

  63. Jenna says:

wait, what? she’s 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET WITH IT WOMAN!

  64. Boobarella says:

Hey Dina, please answer this age-old question for us: how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

  65. _Salem_ says:

I think calling Lindsay a little girl is Dina’s way of minimising the damage that Lindsay has done to herself and to others. Its like Dina is saying, oh she’s just a little girl, she doesn’t mean any harm. Is Dina still going to be calling Lindsay a little girl when Lindsay’s 50? I hope Lindsay can keep her addiction in check and overcome it.

  66. Jag says:

Either Dina does have a brain, or she has someone giving her very good advice. Of course she’s saying that Lindsay is a child and that she’s just a little girl who’s experimenting with life. That way, when the prosecutors and the JUDGE sees/hears about the interview, they’ll feel sorry for the lil’ Linds and will go easy on her yet again. From what I’ve read, if the prosecutor decides to do so, she could have Lindsay up immediately for breaking her DUI parole and she would go straight to jail for a year without a trial. Of course momma-needs-a-meal ticket doesn’t want that to happen, so she’s trying to keep pulling the wool over the law’s eyes. (Since Linds keeps getting away with everything.)

  67. CB Rawks says:

“How many people on this thread are over 25? What were you doing at 25?”

    Married, working, buying a house.

  68. Zelda says:

“How many people on this thread are over 25? What were you doing at 25?”

Truthfully? Some drugs, drinking, “youthful folly”.

    On the f*cking weekends.

I also went to work everyday, paid bills, had productive hobbies, and nurtured loving relationships. And had the self awareness to know that my behaviour was selfish and to be limited to my own time and trouble until I chose to leave it behind.

This girl has a dangerous combination of denial and enabling in her life.

Also, her being a bit of an *sshole can’t be ruled out.

And don’t even get me started on the “little girl” BS.

  69. Judy says:

Dina Lohan is not bright or relevant and I can’t understand why she’s always in the news. She wouldn’t know the meaning of class if it hit her in the face. And everytime I come on this site and see that pic of her, I initially think it’s Kate Gosselin…and that is NOT a compliment…Dina looks old and hard. She’s also an enabler and a lousy excuse for a mother–oh, again…she reminds me of Kate Gosselin.

  70. eja102 says:

I just watched some of the interview on CNN.

I am 22, moved out at 18, paid my bills, food, etc etc. worked full time and school part time. I recently moved home to get through school faster, and save more for law school.

If someone called me a “little boy”… ridiculous.

  71. Jayna says:

Wow. Why believe her? She came out before saying she was on the right road. blah, blah. Her daughter just stole an expensive necklace after getting out of intense rehab and therapy. LOL Really maturing.

  72. Hakura says:

@Bunkins‘Since when is 24 a little girl? You can vote, go to war, drive have babies…”

Yep, & this year, she’ll be eligable to rent a car. Or she would be, if the whole world didn’t know about that DUI. If she can find one still willing to rent to her, I’ll give her credit for having a talent (other than managing to abscond with jewelry worth more than a college tuition, & sliding under the legal system limbo bar, no matter how low it gets.)

The ‘little girl’ reference is just Dina’s attempt at justifying the behavior, & while I think she believes that to certain degree, I’m sure she really knows better (somewhere in that cavernous skull).

While we’re on the subject, just how long has it been since Lindsay has actually worked, anyway?

  73. Hakura says:

I forgot to add. I noticed a lot of people mentioned where they are in their lives at (or around) 25.

I’m 24 (25 in April), & can’t claim any of the accomplishments others who’ve spoken up can. I had a house fire senior year, which caused a lot of problems for the family. Displaced for 5 years, fighting with the insurance company. I somehow got ‘stuck’ after highschool, struggling to get my footing.

So many usual life mildstones (Education, marriage, good jobs, or raising a family), I’ve yet to reach. I’ve also dealt with substance abuse, after a doctor prescribed a medication, but didn’t warn me how dependent I could become to it.

Once you’ve gotten into such a hole, it’s incredibly difficult to climb out, especially when you look at your peers, & see how well they’re doing, how much you’ve missed. You feel pathetic, you wonder what’s so wrong with you that you’ve been left behind. Your self esteem falls, & you lose the will to even try.

I think this is why I deeply sympathize with Lindsay, even knowing that she’s old enough to know better than to make excuses. Life just doesn’t go the way you want sometimes, & fixing it isn’t as easy as simply wanting to do so. Especially with addiction thrown in.

Dina, however, is a complete moron who’s first priority has never been Lindsay’s welfare, & likely never will be. If Lindsay ends up overdosing, I do think her mother should be crucified. (Granted that choice of word might be wrong, she already acts like she’s up on the cross.)

  74. loopygorilla says:

why is she hagging out with samantha ronson? that bitch is a drug whore.

oh wait.. i just got my answer.

hohan has not learnt her lesson, she is back to where she started.

    oh well 🙂 more entertainment!

    this family keeps giving

  75. Sally says:

@brin: You’re a genius! And you gave me an idea.. Dina is not only short for denial, Dina IS denial! I present my proof:

    Dina L = dee-na-ell = denial

No? Maybe not.. but you gotta admit I tried 😀

  76. London says:

@ Original Bella, lol my bad at referring white oprah as a lady, I should just refer to her as the abomination of pop culture 🙂
