Yesterday the Daily Mail ran an “exclusive” story that we covered that claimed that Jennifer Aniston had drunk dialed John Mayer because she wanted a reconciliation and that he was responsive to her and the two have been talking every day since. It pretty much sounded like BS, and the Daily Mail is about as reliable, or maybe less so, than Star Magazine. The main thing they’re pretty good at is spotting female celebrities’ tiny body flaws, minor weight gain, and knobby knees. If a female celebrity has gained 5 pounds or lost enough weight to make her knees protrude, it’s enough for a long story expounding on it in the Mail.
In Touch, another unreliable source but much more trustworthy than the Mail, says that it’s the other way around – Mayer has been sending Jennifer text messages in that pseudo-intellectual style of his. He’s only managed to raise a smirk out of Aniston, though, who just hits delete and moves on to do more yoga, eat a chicken salad, and top it off with some Smart Water.
John Mayer has been battling the blues since his August breakup with Jennifer Aniston, and now she’s ignoring him. “He tried reaching out to Jen with text messages, but she never responded,” an insider tells In Touch. “He was really hurt that she didn’t want to talk to him.” To make matters worse, the former playboy, 30, was spotted at La Esquina restaurant in NYC on September 13 striking out with the ladies. “He loves being noticed by women,” the insider says. But an onlooker added, “No one seemed interested in him that night. He didn’t look very happy.”

Now this version of events I believe. The only evidence we have that Aniston is the needy person the media portrays her as are the few interviews she did after the breakup of her five year marriage, which was over three years ago. Mayer, on the other hand, pretty much proves that he’s a douche who needs attention every time he opens his passive aggressive mouth or pens a blog entry.
Aniston seemed like an idiot for hooking up with Mayer in the first place, but she earns points for breaking it off and moving on.
Oh FFS. Don’t care which one is doing it, the fact that both of them feel the need to inform the world about it and have the last word is just beyond pathetic. Not a mouse-sized shit do I give here. Just go away.

Yeah, I called it. Yesterday’s story came from Mayer. Today’s story is coming from Aniston’s camp.

In Touch would have gone to print days ago, certainly before the Daily Mail story, so it’s not in retaliation. Us Weekly ran a story this week also about how John is sad and lonely and depressed and all that crap and Jennifer has moved on.
It’s not the timeline, Karen, it’s the back-and-forth between two people who don’t have the talent to ceed the spotlight to their careers. Instead they continue on this immature PR strategy.
Sorry to state the obvious, but John Mayer is a f*cking ass hat.

Kaiser – I think the point Karen was trying to get across is that it’s NOT Jen’s camp volleying the ball back and forth. It’s the magazines that do this and they do this kind of stuff to get people to buy their magazine. See all the Brangeloonie’s will buy the magazine that shows Jen as a pathetic loser and all the people who like Jen will buy the magazine showing John Mayer as pathetic – the Jessica Simpson fans will also buy the John Mayer is pathetic.
It’s all part of magazine sales – just like Brangelina is breaking up in one and another magazine have them looking to grow the family and hunting for the 7th child…
It’s a fairly common practice and I think that was the point Karen was getting across. Although I know that many people love to buy into Lainey’s theories that Jen has her PR people do this – Karen clearly shows that the timeline on this one makes it impossible.
Yeah, Linda, I’m pretty sure I understand the basics of the tabloid press.
My point was that after the horrible fallout from the Mayer/Aniston break-up – in which both of their PR teams were giving info to the tabloids – it’s more than likely that both Aniston and Mayer are still giving info about who’s over whom, and who’s calling, etc.
So this is kind of proof that her ‘people’ keep an eye on the stories in the tabloid press and then make sure there’s always ‘tat’ for any ‘tit’.
I just find it weird that she can’t let some of this stuff go. It seems like the break up had acrimony somewhere along the line if they have to keep having ‘the last word’ on something most people are, frankly, tired of hearing about.

Well Kaiser, you’re obviously not a Jennifer fan, so I could care less what you think of this post, but bottom line is:
Jennifer had many, many interviews at the Toronto Film Festival and in not one did she talk about John Mayer or elude to their relationship. You’ll find them on You Tube if you’re at all interested or on Jennifer’s fan site. Mr. Mayer, on the other hand called a press conference to discuss the breakup at length.
Last night on Access Hollywood an editor for People called him no class because he talks about his ex girlfriendsm and that he does, and the Daily Mail article was given out by John Mayer himself, in my humble opinion. I doubt there’s a word of truth in it.
Linda – you only have to look back at the pathetic ‘he said, she said’ rebuttals that went on when they broke up to know that info was being fed to the tabs by both parties. Whether it’s true or not in this particular case is completely beside the point. They’ve already established their MO. It’s no surprise that people automatically see this as more of the same pathetic attention-seeking onemanupship.
@Karen: JA does not “kiss and tell”. That’s what her camp have always said about her. She’s a classy lady. BUT….
She has her “sources” do her dirty work, and she comes out clean and smelling like a rose.

Kaiser and daisy, it always amazes me how the Aniston’s fans are quick to call posters “hypocrites” and “bias” at the first criticism of her, but when there is a post up about the Jolie-Pitts, they are the first ones on here calling them all kinds of names.
This woman stirs all kinds of rancor because of the way she has conducted herself. Say what you want about AJ, but what you see is what you get. JA is so hung-up on her image that it is imperative to her that anything negative is immediately shot down. And people are beginning to pay attention, and call her out on it. Other than that one interview in Vanity Fair I haven’t seen her really out their talking about any of her other relationships and personally I don’t blame her, Brad Pitt was an insensitive asshole with his timing of things. See, RAN (I know, we basically promised to ignore each other, but you brought me up FIRST 😀 ), most of my disgust of Aniston is that she is *not* harmless – I think she actively sends her publicity people out to try to destroy and misinform people – first Brad and Angelina, currently John Mayer.
After Aniston and Mayer broke up, I had new-found respect for him because he actually had the balls to talk to the press directly and say he broke up with her, and to list his “reasons” – contradicting of all the crap that came out of her camp.

Steven Huvane is the Pit Bull of all Pit Bull PR Reps in the business and he is Aniston’s man Joie has NEVER, EVER had a PR “handler” and convinced Brad to drop his too once they got together and said let truth speak for itself, good and bad. That is WHY this “love tiangle” has played out for so long and all in Aniston’s favor as she had a SPIN DOCTOR ON IT AT ALL TIMES. The Jolie-Pitts recently hired a known political/Charitable/Pr advisor type since Holly Goline’s identity was fraudulently used to report that false twin birth story and they decided they needed to protect their people and he does help advise them on their many charitable donations…including the $3 Million donated just in the last two weeks.
And I also applaud John Mayer for not taking the Steven Huvane attack and sack of lies being spread by Huvane on Aniston’s behalf. Oh yeah, she does play dirty but keeps her hands clean personally. She pays others to do her dirty work bu they do what she wants done! He did not call a press conference to make his comments about Aniston, he adressed the papparazzi following him from the gym!
