Kelly Osbourne is out and about promoting World Contraception Day, talking about how she has a sexual health check up several times a year, and revealing that she had a pregnancy scare at 13.
Kelly said: “I convinced myself I was pregnant when I was 13 and I hadn’t even got my period.
“There are so many rumours and also so much wrong information being passed around, so it is a really important message the World Contraception Day is trying to give out.”
Kelly – an ambassador for World Contraception Day – also revealed she gets tested for sexually transmitted infections every three months.
The 23-year-old admitted having unprotected sex in the past and has the tests for her own peace of mind
Kelly, who is currently dating model Luke Worrall, said: “I am not the kind of person who talks about my sex life, but I am not afraid to talk about contraception.
“I go three, maybe four times a year to get tested for sexually transmitted infections and most of the time I don’t even need to. I just go for peace of mind.”

Kelly was sexually active at 13? Is there any way for me to lock up my children until they’re 25, I am absolutely not ready to parent adolescents!
Kelly made the comments when out promoting World Contraception Day, and this story suggests to me that maybe her parents weren’t ready to raise children and possibly would have been good candidates for said contraceptives. Kelly seems to have worked herself out now, but shouldn’t she have a parent working out that she was sexually active before she even started puberty, and sitting down for a chat about the birds and the bees?
Admittedly, if you had Ozzy Osbourne explain anything to you, you’re likely to walk away more confused than when you started. And I shudder to think of the vulgarities Sharon would have used to explain the process, which alone might have worked as a contraceptive.

she didn’t actually say she was sexually active, I think what she was trying to get at was that there are so many myths and rumours & younger ppl aren’t really getting the right information, and she thought she was pregnant even though it was impossible.
You wouldn’t believe the amount of girls who think they are pregnant when they haven’t even had sex or gotten their period. it is phenomenal how uneducated some people are, even though they have access to this kind of information.
I remember as a young teenager my cousin who was the same age told me that you had to have sex for 7 minutes to get pregnant and we both thought that getting a hickey would get you pregnant!! I don’t have any kids but it seems that sitting down with kids and being straightforward about sex would probably save a lot of girls from getting pregnant.
Misleading headline. Agree with other posters, no mention that she was sexually active at all for the reasons given in the two previous comments.
AH! She gets tested every 3 months? Why? Sounds like she doesnt even use condoms herself!!!!
I’m 35 and I’m amazed at how much more wordly and secretive kids are now. But even when I was in junior high, 12 and 13 years old, I had friends my age, boys and girls, who were sexually active and their parents had no clue. And that wasn’t because they were bad parents! I’m not saying Ozzy and Sharon were the best parents, or the worst, I’m just saying it’s not unusual for even the best of parents to not have any idea when their kids start having sex.
I remember once thinking that dry humping could cause pregnancy, as in the guy could ejaculate accidentally and the sperm would seep through your clothes and knock you up! 😳
That’s funny, I had a similar experience when I was 13. My period was late and I was totally convinced I’d somehow had sex and blocked it out. Not to mention my best friend said maybe I was like a plant, able to reproduce on my own. I stressed out for over 2 weeks before I finally got it. It’s silly, but I can see how that could happen to someone else.
I’m living with my boyfriend and he laughed when I told him about how when I got my first period and had thought I was losing my baby. In the same way as people think (not as much now, but it still happens) that A. I. D. S. cand be gained just by kissing, I thought I had become pregnat in the same way. It wasn’t even a full-on snog, just a friends kiss on the cheek, but because I ‘loved’ him (now I know what love really is….) I was certain (thanks to my friends then) that I had become pregnant from the kiss and was losing the beaby with my first period! Very silly now, I know but that’s what happened back then. I was eleven, so that was twenty-one years ago!
contraception is a way to delay a pregnancy if a women is not ready get pregnant
Hi,
I wanted to let you know that I have been following for a while and I would like to sign up for the feed. I’ll give it a try but I might need some assistance. This is a good find and I would hate to lose touch, and maybe never discover it again.
Anyway, thanks again and I look forward to reading again in the future!
