Since there were so many notable (bad and good) styles at the Met Gala, and since we don’t want to leave anybody out, I’m doing some groupings of some of the random ladies who maybe don’t deserve their own posts. So here’s Demi Moore in Prabal Gurung, with a British-y feather fascinator. The whole look is rather… tragic. I mean, it should work, and I know Demi cares about fashion, and she actually put some effort into this whole look, but it just feels… meh. Ridiculously boring.
Here’s Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci (she’s one of the current faces of Gucci). I actually love deep purples, and I think this dress is very suitable for the event. Yeah, it’s kind of plain. But she’s young and she has a killer figure and she actually likes fashion, so I think she was just aiming for “not controversial”. And then she just messed with her hair.
Ashley Olsen in Christian Dior… I wonder if this was done by John Galliano? Could be. If it is, that’s slightly controversial. Oh, and it’s fug. But it’s nice to see one of the Olsen girls in something fitted, right?
Christina Ricci in Zac Posen. I don’t know, I think it’s fug, but I generally dislike Zac Posen’s stuff. I think he overworks his designs.
I’ve said it before, but there are few people who pluck my last nerve like Thandie Newton. It’s not even anything she did or said (although the bitch just reeks of smugness). It’s just HER FACE. She’s like Lea Michele or Kristen Stewart. I want to smack her. So I think it’s hilarious that Her Royal Bony-ness looks like she has fat rolls in what seems like an old-school dressing gown. By Stella McCartney, who much hate Thandie as much as me.
Call me crazy, but I rather like Ginnifer Goodwin’s Topshop dress. The color pops, the cut-outs kind of work and I like her shoes and her little pixie haircut.
Diane Kruger in Jason Wu, with a cute Joshua Jackson. Boring. Meh. She could do so much better. But at least her biscuits are covered…?
Kerry Washington in Escada. I am too overcome by her CrazyFace to even look at the dress. But yeah, mint green looks great on ladies with darker skin. BUT HER FACE.
Nicole Richie in Jason Wu. God, she looks so budget. She looks like she’s wearing some knockoff that she got at a mall.

I like Demi & the Olsen. The rest…meh. I am now officially against rib cage cutouts. Too trailer trash goes to the prom. & most of these chicks are wearing dresses that are made for 6 foot tall clotheshangers, not super tiny celebs.

I really like the color of Ginnifer Goodwin’s dress, but the dress itself is so-so.
Evan Rachel Wood looks great! That purple is so flattering to her fair skin tone. I’d rather see her w/ a different hair color than blonde, though.
Out of all the dresses, Evan Rachel Wood the best. I will always prefer the simple, classic, not too bedazzled dresses… I also like Ashley Olsen’s outfit, I find the sleeves to be an original touch (and remind me of Princess Diana’s wedding dress… did you see pictures of Mary-Kate though? UGH so tragic)

Like having anything with sugar after being on a no carb diet for a while, I find I dont mind the Olsen dress, because I usually hate everything she wears. I take an ok dress on her when I can get it.

Wow, I’m underwhelmed by all of them! Demi looks good (although her face looks slightly…different?). Also, crazy faces on Kerry and Ginnifer ruined their spectacular outfits. Bummer!

I love Ginnifer’s dress. I like her style – she’s always edgy but still classy.

Ginnifer Goodwin – Wins everybody. Everything is unique and perfect about her outfit.
Diane Kruger- I love the whole look. I love the sparkly top. She is gorgeous. I don’t think her look is boring. Thigh high slit with sparkly top and trying to be classic yet unique and it works for me.
Kerry -I love everything about the look except the purse. Personally I think she’s one of the prettiest actresses in Hollywood. Her eyes are a little bugged sometimes but she’s still gorgeous. She just has a fairytale look to her face- the lips and eyes do that “ooh!/oh!” thing but that’s just how her face goes. So what. I think she looks like a black Jolie/Jennifer Garner mix. At any rate she’s flawless.
Nicole Ritchie- She looks adorable. Like a mod/80s/Madonna fan pixie.
ERW looks stunning – love love love that dress. i like ashley olsen’s also. demi looks like she’s trying way too hard and everyone else is boring and/or fug.
I love Ginnifer’s dress and shows. The necklace is too matchy in color and the wrong style; better to go with a vintage bold metallic piece.
The only one that really jumped out at me was Thandie Newton and that’s just because that dress gives her the most expensive muffin top in the history of fashion.

I absolutely love Christina Ricci in that dress, she’s tiny and it makes her took tall. I am on the fence as far as Posen goes usually, but love this look. I also just love Ashley, that dress is classic elegant Dior at it’s best.

Remember when Demi wore the glorified biker shorts at the Oscars? She should have saved them – what in sartorial hell is she wearing underneath all those feathers? Or did she line up some feathers to make it look like she was wearing a skirt underneath the feather duster? Too try hard, thus epic fail (and the hat was rejected by Beatrice for the wedding).
I really liked Rachel and Diane’s dresses the most. The others are pretty much a mess or just fug.
But yeah, it’s nice to see one fitted dress on one Olsen girl. Now do something for that face and it’s all settled.
Diane played it safe but she looks lovely. The same can be said for ERW. My third favorite pick is Ginnifer, love the colors and want those shoes.
Demi looked like a bird in mourning, Ricci like a veiny old mermaid and I hate everything about Kerry’s tacky look. The muffin top on Thandie is hilarious.

The only one who stands out for me is Nicole Richie. I think she brings fun and edge. I love the dress, paired with the funky ring, black nails, long loose waves, and red lipstick. I think the dress likely looks better in person.
Demi looks as plain and boring as always. No radiance or personality shows thru whatsoever. Fugly dress, flat hair that never seems to shine, and a very ordinary face that is looking haggard.

I am loving Ashely Olsen’s dress. Very peasant feeling, I would have liked to see it in a pretty blue (the body part, I liked the sleeves in white). I agree, I am happy to see that see has a shape!

Don’t like one dress in the whole lot. Why does Demi’s head lean over? Nicole Ritchie looks old, makes a better brunette. Ricci’s hair/bun looks greasy doesn’t balance with the overpoofy dress. Evan Rachel Wood is too blonde and too pale for a wine dress, and her updo is an updon’t. And Ashley Olsen I’m glad your twin isn’t stuck next to you but pluck those caterpillars girl.
Just read on Debutante.com, a well respected vintage fashion site, that Nicole Ritchie wore a 1940’s vintage gown, designer unknown.
