Bristol Palin calls her new face “necessary for medical reasons.” Of course

day to prevent 060510
Bristol Palin, 20, showed up at an event earlier this month looking like a different, older version of herself. She had a much more prominent chin, higher looking eyes and a thinner face that could not be explained by weight loss. Bristol used to work at a dermatologist’s office in Alaska and would presumably already know doctors that could give her just about any nip and tick that she wanted. The work that Bristol had done was incredibly obvious, so instead of denying it or remaining quiet about it, Bristol decided to tell US Weekly that she had corrective jaw surgery that was “necessary for medical reasons.” Was the eye lift, chin implant and buchal fat pad removal medically necessary too? Surgeons have also noticed that she seems to have had a nose job. Next Bristol will be crying that we’re all picking on her for some jaw surgery that she absolutely needed to have.

Bristol Palin is trying to save face by insisting her new look is the result of a necessary medical procedure—not cosmetic surgery.

The 20-year-old daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said she underwent corrective jaw surgery in December – just a month after placing third on “Dancing with the Stars.”

A slimmer Palin turned heads at the White House Correspondents Dinner on April 30, debuting a thinner face, angular jaw and higher cheekbones. The appearance ignited speculation in the blogosphere that she had plastic surgery.

But she told Us Weekly the procedure was necessary so her jaw and teeth could properly realign.

“Yes, it improved the way I look, but this surgery was necessary for medical reasons,” she told the magazine for its May 23 issue.

Palin said while growing up she wore braces and a device to correct an overbite. But her dentist warned her there was a still a possibility she would need surgery one day.

The single mom declared she would never get plastic surgery “unless I got in an accident or something terrible.”

But New York-based plastic surgeon Dr. Norman M. Rowe had previously told the Daily News that her nose looked like it too had some work done.

“The tip of her nose is smaller and more feminine,” he said. “This gives [it] a less bulbous look … The bridge of the nose also appears lower. It’s not as wide as it previously appeared.”

Palin, who recently landed a reality show of her own, said she was happy with her new look.

“I look older, more mature and don’t have as much of a chubby little baby face,” she said.

[From The NY Daily News]

This is a 20 year-old girl who was so pretty before messing with her really lovely, very young-looking face and ending up looking like a 30-something. Maybe she did sort-of need jaw surgery and decided to go all out with a plastic surgery makeover to go along with that. The fact that she had so much work done to her face is just sad to me. She was so pretty and natural before and now she looks like a Beverly Hills clone. She’ll never be able to get her old face back. She doesn’t seem to care, though. She’s about to star on a reality show and will get a whole fake life to go along with her new look.

What a shame she’ll now look so generic.

Although, the nose looks exactly the same to me. About the only part which does. AWFUL new big Hollywood hair now too. Yawn.

  2. Happymom says:

I cannot put into words how much I loathe this family. They’re all opportunists who turn around and bite the hands that feed them. They would be NOWHERE if the media (which they always claim is “against them”) had not become so fascinated with these white trash, uneducated losers. The fact that this girl-who has done nothing other than be a teen mother-has become famous just grates on me.

  3. Delta Juliet says:

The older pictures look so much prettier and fresh. I don’t see a lot of change to be honest, but the make-up etc. in the newer pics makes her look older and unoriginal.

  4. Samigirl says:

I was waiting on this story! Does jaw work affect the chin like that too? I mean, if you get plastic surgery, own up to it. People respect you more!

  5. ladybert62 says:

ah sure, ok, whatever Bristol – but now that you are rich, could you please get a decent haircut – those extensions look nasty!

  6. Pauline says:

    Bitch. Please.

This is just like when Ashley Tisdale fixed her nose because of a “deviated septum”. Righttttt.

  7. Pix says:

She was WAY prettier before. Now she looks like Ashley Tisdale…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

  8. Dani says:

Actually the jaw surgery to correct teeth allignment is quite common and she is correct about the reasons why. Many times when they do this surgery, they will also add a chin implant to even out the persons profile. She does appear to have had liposuction underneth her chin also.

Quite frankly, I feel sorry for this girl that people hate on her so much. I believe mostly, because of her mother. I will give you that she has made some mistakes in her young life. But at this point, all she can do is try to turn things around for the better. However, I am not sure the public will ever let her live down her mistakes. JMO.

  9. Emily says:

Surgery for an overbite? Yeah, sure. If you squint, she now looks like Michelle Tratchenberg. In Barbie form.

  10. padiddle says:

I’ve had just about every dental appliance you could describe: headgear, lip bumper, braces, roof guard, etc. I also had a terrible overbite my entire life. My dentist never once said I would need corrective surgery or that the overbite would affect my jaw in any way. And my main problem was that my jaw was too small for all my teeth, that’s why I needed braces. This just seems like BS to me, so has anyone else ever heard of this surgery and why you would need it?

  11. Bings says:

Actually my step-daughter had surgery for an overbite which caused a lot of problems with her jaw. The dentist had to break her jaw in three places in order to realign her jaw. She did not have a jutting chin before and now she does. So Bristol may have had the same surgery.

  12. Heavenbound says:

I think she got cheek implants, and she looks older. It also sickens me how much she is exploiting her teen mother status. What happened to college? I am tired of these good for nothing reality “stars” Kate Gosslin and Snooki, Im looking at you.

  13. Happymom says:

Come on, Dani- “Live down her mistakes”? What are you talking about? I don’t fault her for getting pregnant at a young age-I’m talking about her ongoing campaign to stay in the public eye. A reality show? Please. If she wanted to have a private life she could easily do that-she is choosing to put herself out there over and over again.

  14. Dani says:

@ 10 Padiddle – yes it is called orthgnathic surgery. You can google it. It is done for lack of symmetry to upper and lower jaw. Some people will never have normal allignment without the surgery. Braces alone won’t fix their bite and as they age, constant stress to their teeth happens because their bite is so off. This will eventually severely damage their teeth.

  15. albeli says:

    She was cuter in 09.

  16. aenflex says:

Thats crap. She didnt have an overbite or underbite. How commonplace is jaw surgery? Depandi/ Jaw surgeey – maybe. Bristol? I just don’t think so.

  17. mia girl says:

You know this family loves to call out the fame-whoring ways of Bristol’s baby-daddy, but really she and her mom are no different.

  18. lucy2 says:

I would think for surgery to be “medically necessary” the overbite would have to be severe, but I’m not seeing it, her teeth look the same before and after. Only her chin looks pointer.
This Hollywood makeover was a mistake, she looked a lot cuter and younger before.

  19. Dani says:

@ Happymom -like I said, it is JMO which I am entitled to. I could care less if she wants a public career, that is her choice. Last time I checked, it is still a free country. If you don’t like her then don’t watch her. The public can let their opinions play out with the ratings of the show. Maybe she will crash and burn and then you can sleep soundly at night.

  20. Gossip girl says:

She used to be adorable. Now she looks like a generic Disney chick.

  21. Jb says:

She looks so generic- she was so pretty before. Now she looks just cheesy. I totally agree with Mia girls post. Spot on!

  22. Crash2GO2 says:

Hmm. I had a severe overbite as a kid. They made me wear headgear every night for three years. Not glamorous, but it fixed the problem. Guess the ortho should have told my parents to break my jaw and reset it instead!! 🙄

  23. Sassy says:

I need jaw surgery, too, so does this mean I’m gonna come out with a whole new face AND look older? If so, I might have to pass on it. 😉

  24. Masque says:

I have TMJ and it’s due to a slight misalignment in my upper and lower jaw (along with stress caused jaw clenching). I don’t have an overbite (and have never had one), my jaws are just slightly misaligned due to having had braces (not everyone ends up with a misaligned jaw but I did). So it’s possible Bristol did have a misaligned jaw (even without an obvious overbite) that needed surgery to correct it.

However, having said that, jaw realignment usually doesn’t remove substantial amounts of fat from a jawline. Regardless of what the original intent of her having surgery was (assuming she’s telling the truth. Ha!), she used the situation to get her jaw fat reduced.

Her nose and chin look the same to me. I think they are more prominent due to the new slimness of her jaw but other than that, I don’t see any change in them.

(ugh, I can’t believe I just defended her in any way, shape or form. I feel so dirty!)

  25. Roxy750 says:

Wow people, first you gripe because she’s a fattie and now she is trying to do something about it…really she has been bullied and teased to now have a complex so she gets plastic surgery and now everyone still makes fun of her. That part is sad. The other part I don’t get is if all the above is true…then why doesnt she simply take a back seat to all this, get back into her life, be nice and quiet, be a mommy and stay out of the limelight? DOI!

  26. Theuth says:

Fire me, I think she was SO average-ugly (at best) before, but this makeover is ridiculous: every sane doctor would have never touched her face, expecially her chin, for “medical reason”. The recovery for this kind of surgery is long and difficult, so it’s usually the last thing to do.
    Shame on her.

  27. Praise St. Angie! says:

“The public can let their opinions play out with the ratings of the show.”

and I predict, like her mother’s show, this one will be a few episodes and then…DONE.

seriously…what could POSSIBLY be interesting about this young woman’s everyday life? though I don’t like reality shows that are just “a day in the life of” (a la Kardashian), at least SOME of the subjects of those shows actually have a career and an interesting life.

but this trick? not even a LITTLE bit interesting. she’s only famous because she was the knocked-up teenage daughter of a failed VP candidate. other than that, she’s done nothing to warrant a reality show.

oh, and I second Pauline’s “bitch, please.”

EDIT: mia girl, EXACTLY. bunch of hypocrites who cry about “the media” being mean to them, but will do anything to stay in the spotlight. can’t have one without the other, Palin family…

  28. Jana says:

I don’t mind her getting a reality show. Why not? Every other scuzz bucket these days does I loathe, loathe, loathe her mother. But Bristol doesn’t bother me, and I think she will become more worldly and see the light.

  29. Chelsey says:

I didn’t realize it until this post, but she now reminds me of Hayden Panettiere. With her new face she looks like a brunette version of her.

  30. NoFrank says:

I hate the new face. She was pretty before, she has beautiful skin and a sweet smile. I don’t like her family and I think she’s a famewhore but she was a pretty girl and she fucked it up with that chin implant.

ETA I was just studying the before and after pic at the top of the article and I realized why her new face creeps me out so bad: she looks like a marionette with that chin. Specifically, she looks like “Charlie In The Box” from the Christmas classic “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”.

  31. Anastasia says:

Wow. She was cute before. Now she looks instantly ten years older. If she had kept her cute baby face, she would have LOVED it once she hit her 30s. Round (not necessarily fat, but round) faces look youthful. Angular faces do not. Her youthful round face would have made her look younger in her 30s and 40s. Oh well!

  32. DGO says:

The jaw thing is true – I know people that have had to undergo the procedure – but she’s obviously had so much more done than that. Come clean, Bristol.

  33. Samihami says:

Whatever she had done, it really works for her. She looks great!

  34. Samihami says:

Whatever she had done, it really works for her. She looks great!

  35. original kate says:

“bunch of hypocrites who cry about “the media” being mean to them, but will do anything to stay in the spotlight.”

    this.

as for bristol, she didn’t seem to have an under/overbite before; in fact she had a lovely smile. and i’ve never seen anyone who had braces/oral surgery who looked completely different afterward. better, but not like a different person. i’m not buying this story – the timing seems suspect, right when she’s about to do publicity for her crap reality show.

  36. Blue says:

If she had this procedure done in december how come she looks like this now? They interviewed her in Feb. and she looked like her regular self. Now in April she looks like this.

  37. Dani says:

@23 Sassy – you can have the jaw surgery with minimal change to your face. Not everyone has the chin implant with the surgery. Plus it appears that Bristol has had more procedures than just the jaw surgery and implant. As a surgical nurse, I have seen this surgery done many times. Also not all people have to have both upper and lower jaw work done. Some just one or the other.

  38. LunaT says:

Necessary jaw surgery or no, I think it’s sad she’s messed w/her face so much. I thought she was adorable and developing into a beautiful young woman.

Ditto on the whole “we want our privacy/we are media whores” thing. Can’t have it both ways. And if you don’t want people to talk smack, don’t be egotistical, close minded asses who can’t deal when someone else has an opinion different from your’s.

  39. DSMR says:

In the ever growing pool of people who have nothing substantial to impart on society other than the attraction of those who chose to watch their ignorant behavior play out once a week. Ms. Palin has now succumbed to the fallacy of stardom and offically joined the ranks of the talentless horde. 🙂

  40. OXA says:

I wonder would surgery be “medically necessary” to correct my overbutt?

  41. The Bobster says:

And Granny Clampette drank moonshine “for medicinal purposes”.

  42. april says:

She’s such a BSer. Her look is too dramatic of a change for only jaw surgery. I’m not saying she didn’t have jaw surgery, but it was probably more for cosmetic reasons than anything else. She barely touched on the subject of what was medically wrong with her to have had the surgery.

She looks really good, but I’m sick of this family spinning every story.

  43. bluhare says:

I had braces as an adult and was told that jaw surgery was probably indicated after my teeth had been aligned. I ended up not having it as the space between uppper/lower jaw was not as bad as they thought and they didnt think it was worth it for such a small change.

When kids with this issue get braces, they wear the headgear. Their jaws aren’t completely formed, so the headgear allows them to manipulate the bite to get it right. If this doesn’t happen as a child, then the surgery might be indicated as an adult.

A standard medical insurance contract doesn’t cover the procedure, though, as the vast majority of adults do it for cosmetic reasons and the perception is that there is no perceived mechanical improvement after surgery.

  44. amurph says:

I had corrective surgery for a massively misaligned underbite as well as a too narrow jaw. Went through braces, head gear, and all the non-surgical stuff twice before I was told I’d have to have the surgery. The surgery did change my face but only in my jaw area and my overall face shape (my jaw was too crooked, so it altered my face – I went from having a round face to more a heart face) BUT it didn’t affect my cheeks (my upper jaw was sawed off and pulled forward) or my chin.

Not saying that she couldn’t have gotten the surgery done but surgeons wouldn’t do that unless it was really bad. Her teeth (her smile at least) don’t look to be tremendously out of alignment to warrant surgery. You also would have to wear braces for at least a year in order to set the correction. She wouldn’t have healed that quickly.

  45. notsoanonymous says:

Seems like she took the opportunity to have some cosmetic work done while having the jaw surgery – which makes sense to me, honestly.

Surgery might also explain the weight loss since it drastically affects which foods you can chew as you heal. The surgery can be rather painful for some.

I’ve been told I need the same type of surgery and if you looked at photos of me, you wouldn’t think my teeth look ‘that bad’ but even after 2.5 years of braces, they are still no where close to being aligned. My bite never feels settled or right, but the idea that my face would change even at a little bit at 30 is enough to prevent me from bothering to have it redone.

  46. Whatever happened to hard work and personal accountability – “standards” of the republican party? Guess instead of diet and exercise, it’s just easier to get the fat sucked out of your ass and bolted onto your chin. . .

Wonder if her “medically necessary” procedure was covered by her insurance? I had a malignant mole removed and even though it was “medically necessary” my insurance didn’t cover squat. Maybe if I had the mole applied to my upper lip ala Cindy Crawford. . .

  47. benny says:

She and her entire family are trashy, stupid, liars. When will they all go away? I’m so sick of reality-show “celebrities.”

  48. junipergreen says:

    She’s full of shit.

To the person who said she has big hair now… I’m NOT defending this girl because I detest her (and her evil family), but that is not big hair. That is hair that is just being worn down that has a little body. My hair looks pretty much exactly like that when I get out of the shower and go, except a bit more wavy. That just doesn’t look like big hair at all.

  49. bagladey says:

I’m so sick of all these people and the outrageous lies that they unabashedly tell to the public. Whatever happened to “no comment” or “it’s personal”? Why do these people ( Kim K., Coco etc.) always feel like they owe the public an explanation and then make that explantion a blatant lie and an insult to the public? There’s something wrong with repeatedly, adamantly lying like that.

  50. Jules says:

Who knew that the ‘corrective’ surgery included lip injections?

  51. the original bellaluna says:

Only “medically necessary” if it makes her look less like her mom.

  52. dahlia1947 says:

If these celebs knew how bad they look after surgery then I think that they would save their money.

Wasn’t one of the reasons her and Levi broke up was because “he wanted to be in th spotlight” and she just wanted a “quiet life” with him and their son?

    Who’s the hypocrite? I wonder…

  53. lolas says:

Does anyone else think she looks like a white Toni Braxton in the second picture??

  54. kazoo says:

i’m in the minority, but i think she looks better now. she looked like a chubby soccer mom before.

  55. probably didn’t read too carefully through the whole piece – do they reveal the *medical reasons*? cause my imagination runs short on this one.

  56. skibunny says:

I’ve always noticed her weak chin. I think she looks better now. Other than her mother’s 15 minutes of fame I don’t know why this girl is noteworthy.

  57. Maritza says:

She does look much older now and kind of like the rest Hollywood bimbo’s out there. I guess that was what she wanted. I saw a side picture of her and she has a killer chin, way to big, not attractive at all!

  58. Becca B says:

So vanity is a medical condition now?

  59. Wholesome1 says:

She looks like one of those dreadful Kardasian girls now.

  60. Missy says:

I think she looks really good. I was wondering why she looked so different! Duh. I should have known that she got plastic surgery!

  61. Dingles says:

A Palin being dishonest for their own gain? Surely you jest.

And people wringing their hands about how much flack this girl gets obviously don’t remember the very brief period when she actually got real and said, “Yeah, so, teaching abstinence pretty much doesn’t work.” The public as a whole was very supportive of the fact that she was going against her mother’s ideas and being realistic…and then she changed her story, probably because she realized how much $$$ she could make by peddling her right-wing abstinence dog and pony show around the country.

She’s a liar, an opportunist and a sell-out. That is why people hate on this girl.

  62. fallen says:

Im not sure why she had the surgery, she could have just lost weight and she would have looked better. That being said she looks like my best friends sister now, except her chin isn’t that pointy.

  63. luls says:

Ok, so I wasnt bristol’s greatest fan before, nor am I now, BUT there is somethin incredibly ironic which i have noticed on this post and MUST comment on.

Nobody ever had a kind thing to say about her looks before. But now suddenly thats she had surgery, practically EVERYONE on this post, including CB, is commenting about how “cute” she looked pre-surgery!! Hypocrites much!?

where was all this admiration for her looks in the past? NON-EXISTANT.

  64. Joe's Mom says:

I hope she’s happy, because now she looks like she could use some surgery to fix her chin/jaw area. I keep seeing a cross between a Kardashian and a ventriloquist’s puppet, with the lines down each side of the mouth. Sad.

  65. Alix says:

Jaw surgery comes with lipo now? And why is she claiming she got this done in December, when it was clearly done this month?

  66. Shoe_Lover says:

this so sad. she was really quite pretty before. it’s a shame she couldnt see that

  67. Kim says:

I didnt know FUGLY FAT FACE was a medical condition!

medical reasons?? What reasons. Someone needs to ask her and make her give in detail what medical reasons so we can all laugh when she cant come up with anything. She is such an idiot. She has the chance to go the high road but she is a total fame whore. Her poor son.

  68. Kim says:

Someone needs to tell her looking like a puppet is not a good look and doesnt make her look more mature – she just looks like a freak.

  69. Kim says:

and i thought deviated septum (Diaz, Aniston) was a lame excuse. Now its overbite???!!! pllleeaaassseeee!

  70. JIlly says:

She looked so cute before and she’s not even 21. Who has surgery at that young age? I was not a fan of hers but I liked her moxie, now though she just seems like a reality TV bimbo. Did anyone notice the hypocrisy of her being an abstinence activist? Plus, on DWTS she said people related to her because she wasn’t Hollywood and Fake. Makes me sick.

  71. DDD Cups of Justice says:

I am not a fan of this girl at all but I would like to join the small chorus of voices here saying that she could have legitamately needed the surgery. I too have been told I should get corrective surgery for my jawline, I have a severe underbite and it has messed up my back teeth (so you might not be able to tell from her normal smile, where you can only see the front teeth). The doctor told me that my jaw would indeed be broken in several pieces and re-aligned and shaved down. The first thing I said was “It sounds like plastic surgery,” and he said it was, essentially.

But that nose…that is a totally different story. Someone got a slice and dice there!

  72. gg says:

Okay, lying anybody? All she needed was chin lipo, NOT an implant, and to go on a diet. Instead, she looks like Kristol Kardashian.

  73. Michelle says:

My ex-boyfriend had the same surgery, and no, you could not tell just by looking at him before the surgery that he needed it. He had to have it, and also had his jaw broken in 3 places in order to have it done. It was terribly painful and he had a completely different looking face after the surgery. It really did seem to change his entire facial appearance. I believe her. The results of her surgery look very similar to what happened with my ex boyfriend.

  74. Hakura says:

Bitch, Please. I would’ve rather she outright lied, as opposed to making up a bullshit story & insulting our intelligence. She obviously just wants to be the next Kardashian, with her new reality show… She even has Kim’s hair, I wonder if she went all the way & got the ass implants?.

If I’m only expressing my opinion of how she *looks* (as opposed to anything else, because I can’t stand her), then I actually think she looks really good. More aesthetically pleasing with the addition of a chin-shape. Prettier than she was before.

I’m not sure why so many people seem to disagree, & thinks she looks terrible. I just don’t see it. As a person, I outright dislike her. But I’m only going on appearance here.

  75. Jag says:

Wow, I stand corrected. Even though my face shape changed when I lost a ton of weight, her change obviously was for different reasons. lol (Now my nose WAS changed by surgery and I meant for it to be. lol)

  76. kasper says:

she still looks like she got hit with an ugly stick

  77. sandy says:

just go away already fame seekers,it’s embarrassing, i knew she was going to try and be famous like her mom, air heads every one of them, trash.

  78. Pirouette says:

Here is me giving Bristol Palin the benefit of the doubt:

Doctors want lots of money and convince people of the necessity of useless procedures. Clearly, she didn’t NEED surgery. I think most people can come to that conclusion with their own common logic. So, I guess, she is either stupid or lying.

Also, whoever said she looks like Toni Braxton is SPOT ON.

  79. CeeCee says:

If you can get a doctor/dentist/specialist to say you need the procedure for medical reasons, then it can be covered by your private health fund.

I feel sorry for anyone in Hollywood. Your damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

on a sacarcastic note, perhaps she should have used her mouth/jaw a little more then she wouldn’t have ended up pregnant at 16. Jus sayin

  80. Dena says:

I don’t care about the surgery. My problem is and continues to be that if she were Keisha from the projects-ghetto, Tiffany from the trailer park, or Maria from the barrio, people would call her out and defame her character as an unwed, teenage, high-school dropout mother. She would be treated with scorn–almost spat upon. Yet this one, because her mother got lucky, is being peddled around for profit and it’s OK. How unfair and hypcritical!!! If I were an unwed, dropout teenage mom I’d be fuming. (Well, I am now anyway. . . but still).

  81. Rosanna says:

It’s always lovely to see a lot of people thinking/assuming/pretending to know how she “didn’t need” jaw surgery for medical reasons. Is any of you her doctor?

Aside from that, I think she looks worse now, but I’m happy for her and I hope this will solve her troubles.

On a side note: I’ve had work done on my teeth because of an *illness*, and let me tell you… it’s painful, it takes guts, and it’s NO “easy way out”. So stop hating on her.

  82. julie says:

I am wondering if this type of surgery would benefit Rumer

  83. ordinarygirl86 says:

She looks like one the the “Real Housewives of ____________”

  84. Hakura says:

@Pirouette“Doctors want lots of money and convince people of the necessity of useless procedures. Clearly, she didn’t NEED surgery. So, I guess, she is either stupid or lying.”

It’s very possible that the pressure to have this work done came from the network/producers of her upcoming reality show, or her own Agent. I could totally see them making her think she *needed* the surgery, playing off her prexisting insecurities & comparing her to other reality stars like the Kardashians. I don’t think she’s stupid… Everyone has insecurities about some aspect of their appearence. If someone targetted that, & tore you down… Then suggested surgery that would ‘fix’ you… It’s not hard to see why someone would consider it.

@Rosanna“On a side note: I’ve had work done on my teeth because of an *illness*, and let me tell you… it’s painful, it takes guts, and it’s NO “easy way out”. So stop hating on her.”

I’m not sure if it really is a mouth-issue that caused her to have surgery, but I totally support this statement. I was unfortunate to have a condition that caused me to have *very* little enamel on my teeth. By 15, they started to all fall apart entirely. I’ve had several major dental surgeries done, & It’s the most excruciating pain, but there’s no way to avoid needing to have the procedures done, so you just have to deal with it.

@Dena“My problem is and continues to be that if she were Keisha from the projects-ghetto, Tiffany from the trailer park, or Maria from the barrio, people would call her out and defame her character as an unwed, teenage, high-school dropout mother.

It’s horrible that this is true. I just understand it. It seems like the positive opinion/support of the ‘family’ is transferred to how people react about the teen pregnancy. (Which makes sense in regards to Bristol, & other young girls from political families who end up as teen mothers.

It’s funny how she throws out a red herring and subsequently several people chime in with how, they too, had corrective surgery. The poster up thread was spot on with it being the equivalent of having obvious cosmetic rhinoplasty and passing it off as having been achieved solely through correction of a deviated septum.

C’mon, people. She’s obviously thinks that we’re stupid (and blind). Don’t allow yourselves to be so easily duped. She’s a celebrity who f’ed with her face and is now lying about how and why it was achieved.

It’s so common in Hollywood, it’s a like a rite of passage.

While I realize that the ‘deviated septum’ thing *is* often used as an excuse for some, there are a few cases where I believe that to be true. I personally have that problem (along with a ‘spur’ on the bridge of my nose, as a result of breaking my nose as a kid). It really is miserable most of the time, trouble sleeping, always feel ‘stuffed up’.

I know when I have surgery to correct it, it’s really going to change the shape. (Removing the ‘spur’ will remove the hump on my bridge.) I’m not saying that Bristol isn’t BS-ing, I’m just saying that not everyone who claims to have a medical reason for a costmetic change is lying.

Wow, you guys are all immature simply because of a procedure. It can go either way. Whether it be cosmetic or health related, it doesn’t really matter because she’s an adult who makes decisions for herself. She looks like she feels better so let it be. If you want to complain about her because of something else idiotic, then go ahead, but complaining about what she wants to do with her body for the better is completely unnecessary.
To those who completely shun the idea of orthoganic surgery, her new look actually makes sense. The jaw is an essential part of the phase and having surgery to fix it changes the rest of the features as well such as the eyes and the cheeks. It brings a more balanced look.
That’s why healthy teeth/jaws and good mouth habits are important in the development of the face.
Surgery isn’t easy work either. Patients lose A LOT of weight after surgery due to liquid diet from keeping the mouth shut for a month or so.
I see no difference in the nose at all.
